I am surprised and impressed. Even though I am a Tyson Fury fan, I did not think Tyson Fury would write one of the best help books I have read in a long time. I did not call it a self help book as the message of the book is fo get the help you need.

I read Tyson's first autobiography behind the mask, I though it was brilliant and honest, but I thoyhh this book being released so quickly afterwards it would be repeating the same material. I am presently surprised if is not. Though the std and the honesty of the book is the same, this book builds on the first book rather than repeating it.

Tyson has just come off the biggest win of his career, for boxing fans or boxers, his insights to the preparation and fight itself is great. For people wanting to get a bit fitter, ever chapters starts wit a workout plan. These get progressively harder as the book goes on. For people suffering from mental health issues the themselves of this book and message you are not alone is priceless. Tyson takes his re as a mental health ambassador extremely seriously, and gives it the same 100% treatment he puts I to his boxing. Tyson also talk about pepe how inspired him, shares lessons he learned from them.

This is a great book it has something for everyone. I always judge an autobiography by how much more of a fan i am of someone after reading it. I can honestly i was a bigger fan of Tyson Fury after reading his first book, and i am a even bigger fan after reading this one. Looking forward to his next book,i sm assuming after the AJ fight.

Hands down, the best depression book I've ever read. And I've read a lot of depression books. Especially for being such a happy-go-lucky fella.

I picked this up expecting it to be a diet book. Tyson Fury lost 10 stone, which means 140 lbs in units used by real people. He mentioned in interviews he did so via "Dirty Keto" which meant a bunch of eggs, sausage, and Diet Coke, for some reason. Health and wellness book, written by a pro athlete who had just lost a manlet worth of weight in preparation for a championship match, it's reasonable to assume the book would be about nutrition and exercise.

And in a way, it was, but only as a vehicle to battle depression. The Furious Method is the best compendium of practical coping skills I've found. It's part self-help instruction manual, part mental health confessional, part autobiography, but the whole thing is done with a directness, an honesty, and a compassion I found totally disarming.

I didn't know a lot about Tyson Fury before picking up this book. I knew he was a 270 lb British heavyweight champion who looked like an ogre but didn't fight like one. I knew he stressed fundamentals and finesse. And I know he goes by "Gypsy King", which I don't think I'm even allowed to say, but I also know it's a title earned by beating up all challengers within the traveller community. Yeah, you go ahead and tell him he's cancelled.

So I naturally assumed this lumpy monolith was going to be a braying oaf. I was mistaken. He's down-to-earth, eloquent, and a hell of a writer. The book is a forthright account of his struggle with bipolar depression and addiction, and exactly what was going through his mind at his highest highs and lowest lows. It's a book that needed to be written, and a powerful blow against the stigma surrounding mental illness. There's this lingering Puritanical boomer belief that if you got the depresso you suck it up and tough it out and you don't talk about it. Don't be a pussy. Well, Tyson Fury is the heavyweight champion of the world, and he's a real piss-and-vinegar fighter, none of that slick cherrypicked Mayweather trash. If he struggles with mental illness, then it's not strictly the purview of pussies, huh?

The advice is salt-of-the-earth, direct, and clinically accurate. Exercise. Eat well. Sleep enough. Get outside. Push yourself to do it. Reach out and get help. It's the stuff we all know, but nobody really takes seriously, like mom telling you to make sure you wear a coat. Yeah, yeah.

Well, it's fuckin cold out. Wear the coat.

If you've ever dealt with depression, I urge you to read this book, and do what it says. You can probably skip the My First Warmup sections of every chapter, but replace them with some other kind of functional cardiovascular exercise, because that is deadass THE way to beat depression. The studies have demonstrated, conclusively, that it works as well as or better than all those magic pills they keep heaving into our collective mouths like the Big Bertha arcade game.

Great book. Great fighter. Great dude. Yeah, okay, so he's British. We all have our shortcomings.

A very well written book, so much more than just the topic of boxing. In this book Tyson Fury lays bare about all the mental health issues he has endured, and the path he followed to vanish his deamons and claim back his life. Such honesty in the authors wordings, so interesting to see a person that is famous across the world, becoming humbled by mental illness. I love this book, a boxing theme is embedded throughout the book as expected, some great pictures within the book, the chapters are just the right length, this book would be worth reading for any person struggling with the pressures of life, to the rear of the book is a list of organizations a person could contact if they need help with mental illness related issues. No editorial errors in its pages. If you get a chance to read it, I would take it, a fine book. Nice book cover, front and rear.

Real, down to earth nuggets of wisdom from the Morecambe Big Friendly Giant himself. The book is both entertaining (from a boxing fans perspective) and practical.
I believe that whilst it is true that not everyone has mental health issues, everyone does need to take care of their mental health, not doing so often leads to a series downward spirals. This book could be the start to understanding mental health for many.

This book has left a strong impression on me. I enjoyed the insights into the inner workings of the world champion boxer. The reader gets to know more about the man himself, whilst also exploring more about themselves.

Parts of the book I will put most into practice revolve around keeping track of one’s goals, whilst allowing yourself to celebrate them, through Fury’s “Goal Scorecard”. Along with developing a persona which can help you become more like the person you want to be.

Good stuff, many thanks to The Gypsy King. 👑

This book has literally turned my life around. Having anxiety from the pandemic this year, I saw Tyson advertising this book on television and quickly got it at Christmas. Having watched countless YouTube clips on mindfulness and overcoming anxiety nothing has come close to this amazing book. The practical tips, examples of his own battle and mental preparation for boxing are just the tip of the iceberg. Included are thoughtful examples of other famous people and how they have visualised success and excellent practical structured tips of how to transform your life from anxiety and depression into motivation and positivity. Without this book I would not have turned my mindset around so quickly and therefore I am unbelievably grateful for such an amazing book and Tyson Fury’s eloquent and inspirational advice for those going through this difficult time. Five stars isn’t enough when this is so positively transformational.

This was really good - I'm going to give it 4 stars rather than 5 as anyone that reads it as a self help book might find the detail of the boxing a bit much but for me as someone who has watched all of his fights recently and been to see him on his speaking tour and got to sing along to Sweet Caroline with everyone else, that part was amazing too. In fact he's given away so much detail that that's probably why he's retiring as his next opponent might read this book and suss him out!

I started off with not very high expectations of this as I didn't find his autobiography that well written but this was much better. To start with, I thought that it would just be repeating points from other books - it does do that but in Tyson Fury style so in a very entertaining way, you dossers! I really liked the point about alter ego's at the end which was new to me.

Entertaining, lots to learn and a treat for Tyson Fury fans.

Standard self help (positive thinking, visualisation etc) plus weight loss and health tips.

Often amusing and likeable it will definitely have an impact on the "everyman" who is emboldened by the world heavyweight champion admitting weakness and mental illness.

With the trilogy fight postponed he must now enact his own advice and keep his discipline until the next date.

Motivational, a lot of advice and links for anyone who suffers mental health problems. A nice book about how Tyson deals with his mental health and gets back into the ring for the two wilder fights. A 4/5 for me but I feel this book could help others in need of advice and motivation. A little advice on workouts diet nutrition. Easily worth the small fee of £5

I read his autobiography, Behind the Mask, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The thing I love in autobiographies is actually reading the entire truth, warts and all, and I do believe Fury achieved that in his last book. In this book, he does the same thing but focusing more on his mental health and provides tips and workouts on how to live better, how to achieve your goals and how to try and overcome any mental obstacles.

I loved the fact that he has you do them in twelve rounds, very much like boxing. I also love that each chapter starts with a "Furious Workout" and it's something I've attempted and they're great. So much so that I've made notes of them and saved them as bookmarks in my Kindle so I can go back to them and do them again. I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and I know that Fury has spoken out about his fight with depression and I could really relate to what he was saying and I've taken some of his tips and they're working well for me so far. I also love how he gives you more insight into his mind and then gives a little advice on what he would do (but does reiterates that he's not a professional and that you should seek help, which adds a nice touch in my opinion).

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this. I believed it really could help people and I found it to be quite relatable. Well done, champ! I look forward to reading your next book if you bring one out!

Refreshing to hear someone telling you to go and get help if you need it. An easy and enjoyable read, with Tyson’s personality shining through making it very positive. I enjoyed the chapter about alter egos as I’d never really thought of this concept - always admired others but never thought I could emulate what they do at all. The final few chapters definitely felt like a beacon of hope and positivity.

Excellent book, all about motivation and overcoming mental health issues. The methods talked about in the book are all common techniques, but only to those who have a degree of knowledge in the subject

Good book. A lot of very healthy messages and quotes for the mind and body. Full of inspiration and positivity. A slight bit repetitive on certain topics or boxing fights but if you’re a boxing fan (assume you would be if you’re reading this book) then you don’t really mind. Easy reading and very refreshing.

I like Tyson Fury, his ethos and his ability to come back from suicidal wants. In this book he outlines 12 easy to follow workouts as well as stories from his past, comeback, present and his wants for the future. Based around his 2nd bout with Wilder the book can feel a little repetitive in some areas but nether the less a great book with up lifting qualities.

Super easy read!

The content was really interesting which is why it only took 3 days for me to finish.

It’s one I’ll revisit as there are some really valuable messages, and advice that supports personal development and physical/emotional wellbeing.

One of only two books out there that I would honestly recommend reading closely and thoroughly. Tyson Fury is a genuine, sincere and thought provoking person. Amazing how by doing simple changes can lead to big rewards. Give it a read you'll love it

Great book

I definitely would recommend this book. Hearing how Tyson was able to overcome his demons to capture the Heavyweight crown again was incredible. As someone who suffers from mental health issues there is definitely things I can take away from this book and implement.

Battling depression, weight problems, comeback against Deontay Wilder. This book looks at being knocked down and how to get back up, exercise and how to find and maintain your weight. Goal setting! I highly recommend this book if you or someone you know suffers with mental health.

Exemplary Vulnerability and Transparency

What I thoroughly enjoy about Tyson Fury’s books, is the raw honesty.

This approach to literature is a treasure beyond price. To learn of another person’s trials and tribulations, weaknesses and brokenness, flaws and failings with uncompromising clarity, is the essence of real relationship, even between author and reader who may never meet one another.

What the reader receives with author Fury, is a man whose found his vocation in life; a rare discovery for any human being.

When a person has found their life’s purpose, the natural by-product is to bless and encourage others, because they’re doing exactly what they were designed for in this world.

If you’re a believer in a Creator as Fury is, you will know that if you’re doing your life’s purpose, you will naturally be doing good for others, because everything in God’s design is meant for the benefit of others.

This is where Fury stands and this book—the second one I’ve read from the author—is an example of his ministry to anyone who humbly desires to learn about the reality of this world; the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The only part I struggled with in this particular book was Fury’s assertion about ‘alter-egos;’ essentially, becoming someone else like an act, mask, or performance.

I don't believe in alter-egos—a psychological method that the boxer advocates as a coping strategy—but, I utterly relish Fury's transparency about weaknesses, shames, and humiliations.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this method of alter-egoism works to the success of the ambitious.

Many have utilised it and the proof is in the victorious people we see in their various art forms, prospering with great financial abundance and fame.

However, is it the safest, healthiest way to live?

I'd say not, but I must repeat, I'm not what the world would call a success story. I can see from this psychological ability that financial success and global recognition can easily be accomplished.

This segment was the only part of the book where I strongly disagreed. It was ironic because in the pre-fight discussion of Wilder VS Fury back in 2018 that made me an instant fan of Fury, he’d said: “[I don’t use alter egos and that stuff…]”

Regardless, the ultimate universal lesson from his writing and indeed, his exemplary life is transparency and vulnerability in the face of mental hardship and illness.

To be truthful to this degree is one of the clearest free-will decisions we can make and I respect how Fury does this in his books and behaviour.

Evidently, such honesty will improve our wellbeing and relationships, forming solid pillars of a unified community as opposed to a disconnected and divided one, formed from disingenuity, boasting, and deception.

I listened to the Audio book version, this was really not the best format for this book.

There's a workout routine that plays at the start of each chapter, for an audio book this is not ideal.
I also don't really need this at all but I can appreciate it for others who might like that.

A lot of this book is about Mental health, I found that was most valuable, it was really great to read from a man like Fury. I was aware of his fight with mental health before hand, I had wanted to give this a listen over a lock down period in Melbourne on my walks.

It's a quick listen, and most of the book has useful actionable advice, there's a few sections that I'm not as interested in such as the diet and the like which is not that in depth but rather a quick overview of what worked for Fury. I can't really blame him for this, as it's more of a quick overview and something like nutrition and diets really need entire books. So this section and many others like it felt more like a casual talk with what worked and did not work with him which again I can't blame him at all for doing it like this.

Overall I rather enjoyed the book, it was pretty quick for me to get through and to his credit I think Fury really wrote this with the intention of helping others rather than selling books. It's because of this that the book is so short and to the point, no need to drag out pages or any of the usual fluff when it comes to self help/productivity/development.

Really, really good book - if there was a 4.5 rating option, think that would have more reflected the book.

Let’s start of with the positives:
• It’s a very open and honest self-help book with lots of great tips to manage the burden of life at times. The starting of every chapter with a workout routine was nice to see.
• He doesn’t hold no punches. He tells it straight, looking after our selves is the number one most important thing in life. Gives lots of great routines & goal setting strategies to help us achieve our dreams
• It’s made me respect Tyson more and makes me want to read his other books. I always just thought he was some mad head boxer but finding out he had obsessive compulsive disorder & is an ambassador for mental health was something I just never associated with him. Very interesting read

The negative, I can only think of one, is that for some parts of the book it does slightly get a little repetitive. He’ll make a very interesting point or admission about his own mental health, then he’ll cut to a quote by Ali or Mike T. At first I was like wow cool, then after the 10th/11th I was like this is getting repetitive.

Overall, really good book and would recommend to anyone who is struggling or looking for someone to point them in the right direction!

This book is really well written and covers a lot more ground than simply boxing.

Tyson Fury discusses all of his mental health problems in this book, along with the steps he took to overcome his demons and regain his life.

The author's words are very honest, and it's fascinating to witness someone who is well-known worldwide being humbled by mental illness.

I adore this book, which has a boxing theme throughout as anticipated, some excellent illustrations, chapters that are the perfect length, and a list of organisations to contact at the back for assistance with mental illness-related issues.

This book would be worthwhile reading for anyone dealing with life's stresses.

It's a great book, and I would read it if you had the chance.

It's a good book but it's more of a self-help book and what works for some people might not work for others.I listened to Marilyn Manson when I was younger and I still listen to him now because if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be who I am today I would of probably committed suicide a very long time ago and only Marilyn Manson understood me where as everybody else around me didn't.

I found going to the gym boring so I stopped going but that's just my opinion I'm sure some people love going though.
