Naomi has to 30 days play pretend fake fiance. Naomi hasn't seen Max in 10 years since that night he took her v-card and he then upped and left without a word. Max is in a jam and needs Naomi's help so he comes up with an offer that she can't refuse. 30 days is only 4 weeks what does Naomi have to loose expect for getting her heart broken along the way. Things between Max and Naomi are going great but the lines between what is fake and real begin to blur. Can Naomi forgive Max? Can Max and Naomi put there past behind them?

If you like second chance romances, you'll love this book. Max and Naomi were high school sweethearts before he moved away. Ten years later they reconnect when she interviews him for a magazine. He talks her into being his fake fiancé so it will improve his chances of a big promotion. the characters are likable and realistic. Their chemistry is explosive and they relate so well to each other. His young son is adorable and a cute addition to the story. Does fake become real? I read an arc via Bad Boy Update and voluntarily chose to review.

Max and Naomi dated in high school but went their separate ways after he left her. Now he is a successful doctor interviewing for a new job, where he learns he needs to settle down if he wants a chance. He sees Naomi again and asks her to be his fake fiancé. What will happen when it seems to become more real? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, steam, and suspense. I liked the characters and the story is entertaining.

Avery Edwards goes all in when it comes to matters of the heart. Not So Fake is a sweet second chance story that proves it can hold it's own when it comes to steamy angst. Love gets a second chance to get it wrong or make it right. Max and Naomi are a reminder why I love reunited lovers so much.

Lost Love Found

Running into a high school friend is never a predictable experience, especially if some time has passed. Sometimes, there is little or no memory of the earlier relationship, only a vague flicker of recognition and recollection; on a few rare occasions, however, there is connection, a thread of something that despite the years of silence and distance, connects the past and the present with an energy that sparks as if no time has passed.

When Naomi Grace, writer for New York Insider, began her series of profiles of the rich, attractive bachelors of NYC, she knew thirty-one-year-old Max Stone’s name would be on the list—the handsome heart surgeon with a playboy reputation would be perfect for the series. But, she had many names to profile, and his was just one of many, until his name was moved by request of hospital’s COO to the front of the line. None of this would be a problem if the Max Stone of her high school days had not been the young love who had turned her world upside down, the boy who had taken her innocence and broken her heart and then vanished.

Max Stone has a reputation, and he knows it—he was present and aware as the reputation was being created. But now, he is older, wiser and single parent to five-year-old, Hunter. Max has changed, but the world hasn’t gotten the message, and it is beginning to impact his work and his life. Female patients seek more from him than his offer of medical attention. And now, he is in the running for the chief of surgery at his hospital, and his reviewing committee is split on his appointment. So, when the COO arranges for him to participate in an interview with a writer from a local magazine, he is afraid that his playboy image will be showcased. But, with the unexpected reappearance of high school girl friend as the interviewer, he has a new plan. What he really needs to reform his image is not another profile. What he needs is a wife, and if that candidate for the position of wife is his high school sweetheart? Well, the narrative of lost love found is a winner! But life is full of complications, and one very real complication is 5 years old who looks like Max’s mini-me. How can Max nuance his new fiancé’s existence in his life without exposing his son to a lie?

Avery Edwards has crafted a fast-paced, second chance romance packed with engaging characters who touch the reader’s heart. She examines important issues, exploring what role a parent plays in shaping his child’s future and how that involvement impacts the parent-child relationship, and in turn, how the parent-child relationship impacts other relationships, even a romantic relationship. Framing such significant topics within a romance allows the reader to engage not only the head, but also the heart in the reading experience. Faking for Single Daddy encourages the reader to consider what is really important in life.

Maxwell Stone is one of the top cardiac surgeons in the country and he's in the running to become chief surgeon at his hospital. He has a reputation as a wild playboy and it's not the image the board wants to convey to the public. His friend and colleague, Ted, suggests that he settle down, find a wife and the board might be more inclined to view him more favorably for the position. He has 30 days to prove that he's deserving of their offer. Naomi Grace is a writer for the New York Insider and she has been assigned to write a piece that focuses on uncovering the truth of New York's most elite and Maxwell Stone is her subject. In high school, he and Naomi had something special but, one day, Max simply disappeared without a word. She was heartbroken because she really loved him. Now, here he is again, in the flesh and she doesn't know how to feel. She's drawn to him but she's trying to fight it. He hurt her once and he'll do it again. Max can't believe that this is the girl he knew back in Hemswood. They were friends, more than friends, and she'd be perfect as his fiancee. He sells her on the idea, but there are rules. It's not as easy as it sounds to show the world that they're a couple because neither of them can forget that there's an expiration date. There are people who want them to fail, who are trying to damage Max's reputation even more, and are trying to ruin Naomi's reputation. They would handle it better if they didn't spend so much time in their own heads, arguing about what the other person needs and wants. I didn't like the character of Will Brandon and his story line was a little disconnected. Overall, Not So Fake has a good premise and the the H, h and Hunter are believable and likeable. Cute story!

When does fake become real and then what happens???

This is a second chance at romance story. I am not sure what the title of the book is as when I obtained it it was Not So Fake but it appears to have been changed to Faking for Single Daddy. But in any case this is an entertaining story about Max and Naomi. They were high school sweethearts before he moved away without saying a word to her. Now it is ten years later and they are both successful in their careers. She is a journalist for a magazine and he is a successful doctor and single father. They reconnect when Naomi interviews Max for an article. He somehow talks her into agreeing to be his fake fiancee for a month so that he can get a promotion he is up for, as it would look better to the management. The only problem is that their chemistry is still really strong and she falls for his very adorable son. So when does fake become real as the line between them blurs?
This is a sweet and fun story that is fast-paced and has two likeable main characters. They relate to each other well but there is still drama, suspense and a nice amount of hot and steamy.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Taking a risk
This is a story about Max and Naomi. They were together in high school, but haven’t seen each other for ten years. Max is a doctor, trying to land a job as the head surgeon. Naomi interviews him for the position.
In order to be considered genuinely for the position, he needs a (fake) fiancée to create an image of security and stability. And he also happens to be the single father of a young boy. This is where Naomi comes in!
Their mutual attraction from years ago remains in-tact, and their chemistry is still sizzling hot! But can she forget the heartbreak she endured when she gave her all to him all those years ago, and he suddenly left? A girl never really forgets their first true love, or their first real heart break…
The book contains drama and plenty of emotion. It’s entertaining, and the characters pull you into their story. It’s a lovely second chance romance story, where they have both placed a lot of trust in each other. I don’t know if I could have taken that big of a risk after having my heart broken like she had. I give this book four and a half stars.

If you are looking for a beautifully written second chance romance that just go ahead and add Not So Fake to your collection. Avery Edwards delivers a fantastic story that has great characters all the way around. Max is trying to better himself and land a head surgeon position but his old ways seem to be standing in the way. The board wants someone who is more settled, so when one of the members suggests to him finding a wife, he thinks their crazy. Max has been set up to do an interview which he despises but when his old high school girlfriend Naomi walks through the door he sets his plan in motion.
Max and Naomi’s story will grab a hold of you and won’t let go. Their story has drama, twists, turns surprises and believe me the chemistry and history they share will lite up your kindle. This was an all-around great book that I really enjoyed. I was honored to receive and ARC copy but will also be purchasing my own copy to add to my collection Thanks Avery!

It was OK

I liked the premise for this story. High school sweethearts who ended abruptly, meet again and sparks fly. Max needs something from Naomi and because she has never been able to resist him she says yes. He is a hot shot brilliant cardiac surgeon who wants to be the new chief of surgery, she is a journalist at a respected NY publication. Naomi agrees to be his fake fiancé to help him secure his promotion and Max will do an in-depth on the record interview. Many twists & turns, people working behind the scenes to drive them apart & prove their engagement is fake drive the plot, not their romance. Missed opportunity big time.

My two stars are for the plot holes, of which there are many, the editing mistakes, hire a proofreader and the constant use of OK.
Hunter was my favorite character, I would have liked a bit more of the backstory of Max learning to be a single dad & how he found Ms. Evans.

Fake or real? Max is up for a promotion at the hospital and he would be a shoe in except for his life style. He’s in the gossip papers, and on the news. He has a lot of one night stands, and people think he drinks too much. But for a while he has been trying to change but all singe women and even married ones keep coming on to him. Now he has to show he is more of a family man, and when he meets his old high school girl friend Naomi, feelings are rekindled and he gets her to agree to a fake engagement. But it isn’t as simple as he wants it to be. Feelings are resurfacing on both sides, and an enemy of Naomi’s and one of Max’s are collaborating on how to not only break them up but ruin Max’s promotion, and both of their reputations. Good romance but a little predictable.
3.5
It’s a very well written romance, tender and hot, but a little predictable.
The characters are good, friendly, the story is pretty cute. Although Max’s character is more complex with his manipulative decisions from time to time, and there are some twists and turns due to jealousy whether emotional or professional.
Max is a single doctor who has a son and is also the most popular bachelor with tabloids which wrote about him. So when he is about to become the main surgeon at his hospital and his promotion stems from the image he gives, he decides to manipulate Naomi, with whom he went out in high school. She came to interview him and she ends up falsely engaged to him, but this relationship is complex from their past and all that it basically turns up in Naomi’s life

Naomi and Max have a history from when they were in high school. Things ended between them when Max left and now years later they run into each other. Naomi is doing an article and Max is to be included in it. Max is up for a promotion but it looks like his chance aren't that good because of him being single. So he asks Naomi if she'll pretend to be his fiancé until he gets the promotion. However what neither counted on was for old feelings to resurface. What happens when reals feeling become involved with his fake plans? Can they be together for real?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is sizzling hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I received an arc for an honest review. I absolutely loved this book, which features Max, a cardiac surgeon, and Naomi, a journalist. Max and Naomi were sweethearts in high school, and then Max up and left which broke Naomi's heart. Ten years later, Naomi is asked to do a story on the famous Max, and they both realize that there are still feelings between them. Max has quite a checkered past with the "ladies" and if he wants a new position, he is told he must settle down - which is where Naomi comes in. Max doesn't do relationships, and doesn't know how to communicate with Naomi and keeps secrets from her, which then puts her in awkward situations. This is a great read and I highly recommend it.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Max and Naomi. He's a star surgeon and single dad. But he's lives a Playboy life. The hospital board summons him about the chance at chief surgeon but he needs to clean his act up. Naomi is called to do an interview of Max to help with his image. But when they see each other, they both remember how they left things. They dated in HS but he up and left her without any reason. Now he sees a chance to fix his image and spend time with her. A fix for both of them or do they hope, a fake engagement. Neither plan on having feelings getting involved. But do they ever. Great HEA in the end.

Max is a playboy surgeon at a New York hospital who needs to clean up his image to receive a promotion. Naomi was his high school girlfriend that he abruptly left over 10 years ago who now is going to write a profile article about him to improve his image. She reluctantly goes along with his sudden proposal at a restaurant and becomes his fake fiancé. They have to deal with family issues, problems with coworkers at the hospital, as well as their own developing feelings. Will love be able to conquer all?
This was an enjoyable book that I recommend you read to see how of the issues played out.

This book is the second chance fake fiansée romance. Usually I enjoy reading the second chance romance but I have to say that I am sorry but I don't like it. The story seems promising but while I am reading it, I find that I don't like Naomi. I know that Max hurt her in the past but still her personality is a mess. She is naive but try to act strong which doesn't help anything. Max is better than her but he is also naive when he can't see through his enemy's plotting. Beside I don't feel any spark from both of them. I have to skim reading through the end.

Max is a cardiologist on the rise in his profession. Naomi is a journalist who was scheduled to interview him. Max was called in for a board meeting regarding his chances of promotion and told he needed to get his act straight. He already had the reputation of a playboy. So, he needed to have a fake fiancé and he asked Naomi to fill the position since they had known each other years ago. She agreed. And the storyline goes from there, which is full of humor, angst, and twists; all making a interesting book. You need to read to know how it ends.

Wonderful Atmosphere

There was just a nice feel to this second chance romance story. Ms. Edwards did a fine job of creating this over-arching feeling that wove its way throughout the story. I do not know how to express it but it was lovely. There was the steamy romance between the two main male and main female characters, as well, there was drama, angst -- and yes, I must admit I even shed a few tears at one point in this story. Good Stuff!

Will Max Get A Second Chance Years Later?

Max is all heart .... a heart surgeon. Single dad & drop-dead gorgeous. He has a reputation of being a playboy even if it's ancient history. He wants the promotion but the hitch is he needs to settle down. Naomi, a high school girlfriend wants to do a magazine article on him. What starts as a fake relationship, it's turning into deeper real feelings. A few bumps in the road along the way in getting the HEA they both deserve.

An enjoyable story & well-worth reading.

When Naomi agreed to do this interview of Max, her old high school she never thought her emotions would be so strong. Max broke her heart back then and being around him brings that hurt and love back in force. When he asks her to help him and he will help ber she never imagines the love between them will blow through her barriers.
Max and Naomi have a lot to work through, will their love be enough to help them?

Max is a surgeon who is in need of a fake girlfriend. Naomi fits the bill nicely although she is unsure of her feelings and as time goes on, those becomes even more cloudy. This book was very well written, fun and sassy, yet steamy and tense. Max and Naomi had all the right chemistry, and could not help keeping their hands off each other, enticing the romance until the relationship. Like most love affairs, it is never smooth sailing. Such a great book and had me feeling good at the end.

This is a second chance and fake fiancé storyline. Max needs to clean up his image for a work promotion and having the high school girlfriend he never forgot coming to interview him for an article is very convenient. Throw in some scheming rivals, disapproving parents, and a five year old. I had two issues with the story—first was Max basically throwing stuff at her and it was expected to be fine when they had barely agreed to anything. Then Naomi acting snotty at the dinner in his home when this is what she agreed to. The book could have been a little shorter, but it didn’t run on.

Fun Romcom that’s a Fast Read.
Highly enjoyable with Romcom overtones that kept me reading until the end in one sitting. The main characters were well-written and multidimensional. Naomi and Max were believable as being attracted to each other. Even the two antagonists, Richter and Will, were deliciously yucky. The plot of a fake fiancé, while not new to me, was written with the two characters having a history and a payoff in helping each other.
I found the book very satisfying so I’m definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.

Can you really get a second chance at love? That is the Naomi is asking herself when she agrees to play fake fiancee to Max so he can get his dream job. Nevermind the fact that he broke her heart years earlier. The characters are well developed and relatable. The chemistry between the characters is undeniable. The heart wants what the heart wants but sometimes the other person's heart may not want the same thing. Now Naomi has 30 days to keep her heart away from Max.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

I really enjoyed this second chance romance, Max and Naomi were together during school then he just disappeared. Now, ten years later they cross paths, Naomi is to interview the playboy doctor to help his image, Max needs a fake fiance to give a stable image for a promotion. Their chemistry hasn't faded over time and the sparks still fly, Max now has a beautiful little boy and there is plenty stacked up against this couple to make it work. Wonderfully entertaining, plenty of drama and loads of emotion.

This is the story of Naomi and Maxwell who dated briefly in high school till Max up and left without a word. They reconnect when Naomi is set to interview Max. Surgeon Max is getting lots of bad press about his single lifestyle and the hospital board wants him to settle down or no promotion. Noami is a journalist asked to write a more positive article to help him. But he and Noami dated in high school and have some history to work through. The plot is two fold the relationship between them and the professional rivalry between Max and his coworker. I enjoyed this story. It is more than a romance with very good characters and storyline.

Not So Fake by Avery Edwards is a fun romp about a doctor ( Max Stone) trying to become head of surgery at his hospital. To do that he needs to look less like a playboy and more settled. Naomi is a writer who has been tasked to write an article about Max. She isn’t too sure its such a good idea as Max and Naomi have history from high school days. This is a fun read from start to finish. I enjoyed it a lot.

Max is a player and parts hard and he’s a doctor and a single dad. He ghosted on Naomi after she gave it up to him in high school (totally not cool).
Now, he has a month to clean up his tarnished image, so of course he proposes a temporary marriage to Naomi.

Max never showed true contrition nor did he ever apologize for his behavior and just takes the easy way out and Naomi just kind of went along with everything.
