The tangled web Zhavia found herself trapped in mixed business with pleasure, turning it into torture.
It was supposed to be a simple assassination mission, but a certain tattooed devil had sneaked his tail in her business and ruined her pleasure by unearthing something terrible about her husband's death.
Who should she trust now?
Author's note: This is a stand-alone novella in the Black Widows universe, meant only to showcase my writing style and to tease details about the main series, about its characters, their relationships and general worldbuilding.
This novella was just what I needed to keep me occupied until book two released! I love how this book dove right into an actual mission and showed how Zhavia and the guys act in a team fashion instead of just Zhavia and Cassian in the first book. I like how they are including her in some missions but I still think she has much more potential than they are giving her credit for. Faust was a happy surprise. I knew he was going to be playing a bigger part after book one, and this novella introduced him in a much better lighting than before. I'm looking forward to getting to know him more. Very happy with this series so far!
This book confused me as to where it sits within the Black Widows series and I couldn't find an answer. I read it after book 3 but this is clearly wrong and the timeline and the guys reactions totally confused me. After reading other reviews I'm going to say this sits between books 1 and 2.
Zhavia is on a mission with Cassian, Morgan and Emrys but they are not really letting her help and its frustrating the hell out of her. Then in steps Faust who encourages her to be more involved. It's not really long enough to get too involved but it definitely shows the guys fragile relationship and how they interact with each other and also Zhavia.
The story jumps really fast into the relationship problems and their wasn't a lot of build up to it. Also, the characters like the lead are good, but a little paranormal cliche. It was interesting but left you wanting and it was entirely to short.
All i can say is YES! After reading the 1st "Black widows Academy" this was the perfect novella to follow it with and just made me even more excited for book #2. Faust; OMG! Just when i thought Zhavia had all the man she could handle, Faust happened. This was hot and fun and im dying for more!
