This could have been so much better. Most of the content is lifted basically verbatim from the TV show, and at one point the author writes that “the show finished in 2009.” It premiered in 2009 and ended only a few years ago.
It’s sad, because this could have been interesting—but it’s mostly a lazy rehash of things that someone who watched the show would already know.
The type of book a non-fan friend gets for a friend who is a fan. The illustrations and artful presentation throughout are the strongest aspects of this book. Yet, the prose (mostly season recaps, compilations of quotations, and bios of the cast) is not great.
This was disappointing. It almost seems like it was written by someone whose significant other made them watch the show, but they didn't enjoy it much. There is incorrect information and the season summaries contain odd details while leaving out key points.
The prose leaves something to be desired. It's a little cheesy and at times unnecessary. I loved the artwork, though! And the trivia at the back had some tricky questions, so I appreciated that.
