The prophecy is coming true. It's either the Fae Queen dies or I do—and, for the first time ever, I have something to live for.My parents are alive. Melisandre, the cruel Fae Queen, is holding them hostage. She thinks that they’re all the leverage she needs to lure me into her clutches.
She isn’t wrong.
But Nine, the Dark Fae who has looked out for me since I was a kid, won’t let me sacrifice myself. The Shadow Prophecy says that only I can defeat the Fae Queen and end the Reign of the Damned.
Then again, it also says that I’m gonna need the help of my fated mate. Who, I just discovered when he gave up his freedom in my place, is Nine.
Whoa.
I didn’t want to do this. I didn’t want to have anything to do with the fae.
Too bad I don’t have a choice.
Okay. Okay. One step at at a time.
Step Save Nine.
Step Get to know my parents.
Step Defeat the Fae Queen and save Faerie.
When I discover that there’s a way to do all three of those, I’m game… until I find out that it requires me to do something I swore I wouldn’t.
I have to go back to Black Pine. I have to go back to the asylum. Then, if I survive the confrontation with the Fae Queen, I can finally—finally—put this whole Shadow crap behind me.
No biggie.
With my Shadow Man at my side, and my newfound powers, I know I can do this.
And all it will cost me is one last touch.
**Touch is the third and final full-length book in a trilogy featuring a wary & independent half-fae heroine, the Dark Fae who has shadowed her her entire life, and her quest to learn about who she really is and why the powerful Fae Queen wants her dead. If you are interested in reading more about Nine and Riley, check out their extended epilogue/HEA in Zella. As for Rys, his story continues in Trapped.
Jessica Lynch loves to write! She's been writing ever since she was a child, and spent years writing fan fiction before deciding at the end of 2017 to begin focusing on her original works of fiction. A 14-time winner of NaNoWriMo, Jessica has tons of manuscripts waiting to be formed and shaped and introduced to the world -- plus countless more milling around in her brain. She just wishes she could type fast enough to get them all out!
When she's not writing or working, she's either reading, playing with her family of cats in Central New Jersey, rooting for her beloved Mets, or working on her graphic arts skills to bring her characters and cover art to life.
The series had the potential to be very interesting. However, it glossed over parts, like her reunion with parents, combat training and the final battle, and spent too much time on repetitive inner monologues and boring situations, like hiding out in a sewer.
I’ve really enjoyed the overall premise of this story. There’s some really cool ideas and unique elements. I just wanted Riley to grow more as a character; especially with this being the finale book in this series, but that didn’t happen. She continues to show her immaturity and bratiness, so her attitude turned me off to any romance between Nine and Her. I also didn’t need to know she slept around and didn’t care about protection when she was 13-15 years old; that was just eww. I like Nine, but he doesn’t get to have much personality in this series. I was hoping there would be more connection between Riley and Him, but it never quite got there for me. Some sweet moments, but they don’t communicate well. Also, I wanted more from the reunion with her parents, and the ending didn’t wow me. Also, for the names having power scenario; it seems like an awful lot of people know each other’s Fae names. The story is entertaining, but didn’t reach that level of awesome I was hoping it would with this finale. I still want to check out more books by Jessica Lynch because there’s some interesting, fun ideas going on.
The overall series could have been a 4 stars if the author had just made this one book from the prologue to the end of Touch. The story itself was interesting and worth reading. However, I gave both books 2 and 3 two stars because of all the recapping, rephrasing and constant repeating of the same concepts. It was so frustrating to read the same information over and over again. I had to take breaks while reading each book because I couldn't take it anymore. I did force myself to finish because I wanted to know what happened because the overall story was good.
I couldn't force myself to finish. I kept waiting for some sort of character development. I really wanted Riley to grow as a person.... but she never did. She's extremely immature and just keeps making stupid mistakes. The reunion with her parents was sort of glossed over as well as any sort of combat training. She's supposed to be in love with Nine but she really doesn't act like it. She acts like a brat most of the time. I just couldn't do it. I got half way and gave up.
„Touched” is the conclusion to the “By the Fae" series by Jessica Lynch. In this third full length and final book in the series Callie after realizing that her parents are in fact still alive, needs all help she can find to free them from the captivity of the Fae Queen. But before she can even attempt to confront the Queen, she would have to ransom Nine, her companion and guardian, who traded his own freedom for hers to appease the Fae Queen and the only ally she could trust in the upcoming fight to fulfill the Shadow Prophecy.
Ridley’s character developing through the series is astounding, she has come very far from the orphan child who was committed to Black Pine Facility over six years ago, maturing into a confident heroine who has come to terms with her own role in fulfilling the Shadow Prophecy. Nine and Ridley relationship evolves and consolidates into a more balanced interaction, and… the rest you must have to read by yourself.
“Touched”, while the conclusion to the “By the Fae” Series”, makes a good read as but some aspects of the ploy are much more enjoyable with a previous knowledge of the arc-story. It’s a page-turner, action-filled, fast-paced book, with fine moments of lightness and twisted humor, enjoyable intrigues and a generous dosage of adult romance.
>Book Review – Touch >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 3rd in the Touched by the Fae series and ends in an HEA. Riley and Nine are finally mates. The way it was done was a bit confusing. Was Nine mating her to save her or because he loves her? The romance in this story didn’t need to be super explicit, but some chemistry between the characters would have been nice. Riley has to get used to having her parents worry about her, while her parents have to get used to the idea of their child all grown and mated. >The asylum comes in to play again, as Riley needs to steal something from one of the doctors there. The doctor is also a halfling and wants to forcibly mate with Riley. Riley tries to avoid the prophesy, but it is fulfilled in an unexpected way, due to Riley’s kindness to strangers. The biggest surprise is how Rhys turned out to not be a bad guy. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I wanted a stronger romance between Riley and Nine.
Tragedy To triumph, conquering personal demons, a wicked fae Queen, HEA
What a wonderful series, that made me spontaneous laugh, and spontaneously cry. Very few books do that for me when they do they become keepers I went from reading this under kindle unlimited to buying it So I can read again later. Nine a mysterious dark fae protects Riley her whole life, but keeps secrets. In the end he learns to trust her with his life and she learns to do the same. Sometimes the road to HEA, is a long and dangerous journey But it's always worth that in the end. A home run. I can't wait to read the extended epilogue and the accompanying series about Rysand (Who Goes from villain to Being a flawed fae who might Be able to become a hero In his own right)
This is the third book in the series. The story finally comes to an end when the prophecy finally is fulfilled. (Even though the story continues with a 4rd book) I my opinion, the action loses a bit when it is based on the prophecy alone. I like a bit more of an epic flare. And there were some things that go by "because magic". Still, I can see the effort Jessica has put in the story and I love the way she writes and develops her characters. It's definitely worth reading and I'm very curious about the next book, even when there i no cliffhanger this time. You might be interested to read Tricked from "Imprisoned by the Fae" next for Rys story. It sounds interesting so far.
I gave the STORY a 5 star rating b/c it is INCREDIBLE!!!! as is the number of ERRORS in the last 5 or 6 chapters!!!! The evil queen's name was spelled wrong once and that was a SMALL error!!! I was so mad I wanted to throw my Kindle and stomp it but that would be CRAZY!! plus I desperately wanted to read the book!!! The AMAZING story is all that kept me reading !! It is SOOOO GOOD!!! and when they get the errors corrected I'll read it AGAIN and AGAIN!!! I was spell bound from the first BOOK of the series but THIS ONE !!! OMG it was a NON STOP action/romance/adventure!!!
The fae queen is seeking Riley. Riley has saved her parents from the fae queen's statue garden and pulled them through a dark portal along with her mate Nine. Now her parents are no longer statues, but Nine is. And that is just the beginning... This is a really good book. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.

My favorite in the series! “Touch” is book 3 in the continuation of the “Touched by the Fae” series. This fast-paced, action-packed tale had me hooked from the start. I loved the twists, the vivid scenes and the characters that leave me wanting more and more! Highly Recommended! I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily

A Good Finish To This Series!👍 3.5 Stars 🌟 (Read using Kindle Unlimited) Touch (Touched by the Fae #3)
This was a much better book. It's a lot less repetitive & woe is me!🙏👍 I'm not sure if I'll read the extended epilogue 'Zilla'. I think I'm over this storyline to be honest. I was really pleased this one broke the mould of the two previous books!🎉
I've now read all the books in the Touched by the Gas series. They were very well written and kept me completely enthralled! I found the premise quite intriguing. All in all, I would highly recommended this series to anyone interested in an otherworldly adventure!
Wow A Fantastic addition to the series. It's a fast paced and action packed read that really has you on the edge of your seat. There's twists and turns and epic scenes that really makes this a page Turner I definitely recommend Shauna Joesten
Ok all 3 books should have been one. Too short which in turn you do not get the depth of what it could have been. Had a unique story concept but again lacked depth and better character development. Ok story, ok characters, ok romance, some action and magic.
Think she would have been more happy to have found her parents and realise they didn’t abandon her. Dr Gillespie’s character was a bit of a side tangent that I’m not sure was needed as didn’t really add to the plot much.
Same as before. The story is dragging. Lots and lots of repetitions of inner dialogue and memories. Boring at times. There is still absolutely no chemistry between the M & FMCs. The FMC is still irritating as before and does not grow up one bit.
I really liked this series. This last book is by far the best. The whole series could've been one novel without all the repetition but I'm really happy with this one. I recommend the series.
Through all the twists and turns in this book, it turned out so much better than I hoped for. I really have to read more from this author. She's great!
