3.75 Stars. This was a spicy erotic short collection by Jay. I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of erotic short anthologies. Well, I'm not a big fan of short stories in general. But with being a Jay fan and stuck social distancing, I figured it would not be a bad time to add some heat. Jay sure doesn’t disappoint in the heat factor and I found myself enjoying this collection.

There are a total of five short stories. Four were new with one being Jay’s short Learning Curves which I had read before but still enjoyed it the second time too. My two favorites were A Sexy Send-off and Frisked and Cuffed. A Sexy Send-off was about three friends that decided to have a threesome together before one moved away to Canada. As you might imagine, this story sure turned up the heat. Frisked and Cuffed was another favorite because let’s just say I love a woman in uniform:)

At the end of the collection of five shorts was a bonus short story of Jay’s A Special Gift. This is a short with the characters from Jay’s book Finding Love Down Under. If you have not read Finding Love Down Under yet, you can still read this short. But if you have read it already, I think you will really enjoy spending time with the characters again.

If you are a Jay fan or just looking for some heat to get you through this social distancing time, give this erotic collection a try. As of 4/22/20 you can get this on Kindle Unlimited.

A copy was given to me for a honest review.

Donna Jay writes BDSM erotica and she writes it well. That’s a given by now. F is for… Five Sapphic Tales is an anthology of five short stories (and a bonus), all hot and well-written.

I’m not a big reader of short stories, but I like Jay’s writing and I was interested in seeing what she could do with limited space. The order in which the stories are told is the perfect build-up. The first story is a retelling of the Gingerbread Man tale, and it’s both light and steamy. The next two are about role play, which I’m really not into, so while I was enjoying reading them, they didn’t do a lot for me. They’re very well done, just not my thing. The next ones, however, were right up my street.

I’m all about pushing boundaries, in every area of life, and that’s what these stories are about. The one that got to me the most is the fourth one, Dark Desires. The topic is consensual non-consent, and I really appreciated the way Jay went about it, focusing on the domme’s hesitating about pushing her personal boundaries, the sub’s disquiet with her own fantasy and how she comes to own it. I was uncertain about this and I liked that the character’s unease mirrored my own.

The next story, A Sexy Send-Off, is a threesome between a couple and their best friend who’s leaving the next day for a year. I loved the banter, the chemistry, the mix of lust and kindness, what small power play there was.

I would have been happy for the fun to stop here but Jay gives us a bonus story, the ultimate gift from Zoe to Claire, the characters from Finding Love Down Under, which I haven’t read, and now I have to. A Special Gift can be read as a standalone, but it made me want to know more about the couple’s backstory.

Except for the first story which is pure fantasy, they all have one thing in common, besides being hot: they are all about love and giving the person you love what they want, but never at the expense of your own needs and desires. It all comes down to communication and informed trust. It doesn’t get any sexier than that.

I received a copy from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

As a fan of short stories, BDSM and Donna Jay, this is my kind of book. I’ve read a couple previously but enjoyed having them in this anthology. As with all of the books I’ve read by Jay, this one has the same elements. It’s sexy, realistic, the characters have a healthy respect for each other and sex is always safe, sane and consensual.

F is for Fairy Tale: The Gingerbread woman
This is one I’ve read previously and it’s the one I liked the least but only because I’ve seen every Shrek movie more than once. No matter how hard I tried, all I could see when I imagined Ginger is Gingy’s wife where I would really like to be envisioning a gorgeous cinnamon-skinned, Amazonian-type woman. It totally messed with my enjoyment of the story.

F is for Felony: Frisked and Cuffed
A woman in uniform, with some crime and punishment. It’s sexy without losing the element of realism that I appreciate in Jay’s stories.

F is for Fantasy: Learning Curves
This is another story I’ve read before but enjoyed the re-read just as much as the first time I read it. Tina and Janine are making use of the themed ‘love hotel’ to act out a fantasy without the risk of being caught by their six-year-old twins. At this stage of Corona lockdown and children home 24/7, any privacy would do!

F is for Forbidden: Dark Desires
Consented non-consent is such a tricky theme, but it’s handled beautifully in this story. The power-balance has to be so even, the communication vital and the trust unwavering. Nicely done.

F is for Farewell: A Sexy Send-off
Laura’s story is light and fun and as always, sexy, backed up by a good friendship.

Bonus Story: A Special Gift
Even though Finding Love Down Under was not one of my favourite novels, I liked it. I liked this short story much more though. Zoe and Claire are engaged and the trust between them has built enough for Zoe to offer Claire a gift she never imagined she would. Their trust in each other and their communication is very appealing and attractive.

This book contains a couple of great erotic short stories! My favourites are Forbidden and Farewell.

A Special Gift has a special place in my heart because I already read it and loved it because I know what happend before what made it so special 💚

I didn’t know about the Fairytale, but is was a very original and sexy find of Jay.

Give yourself this book as a gift so you can spoil yourself. Read a story when a moment of sexy loneliness strikes or just for a naughty read in the garden this summer 😉

After finishing a wonderful book that left me wanting more in the romance department, I was ready for a little spice. Donna Jay writing five erotic shorts? IN. And I really enjoyed them. Jay writes light BDSM and what I always find appealing about her work is consent is paramount. Without that, I'm really not interested in the genre. Even when things could get slightly uncomfortable for some readers, Jay never crosses that line. She always makes sure to check in, which allows both the characters and readers to relax into the scenes. Sometimes with anthologies not all stories appeal but I liked every one of these. From the clever and sexy fairy tale of the Gingerbread Woman to the super hot A Sexy Send-off, I found them to be just what I was in the mood for. Jay also includes the bonus short story A Special Gift, which features the characters of Claire and Zoe from her book Finding Love Down Under. You'd get more out of this short if you'd read the novel but can be read as a stand-alone. I'm glad she decided to release this collection now. These stories are a welcome distraction and a, uhmm... stimulating way to spend either a few minutes before bed, or read in one sitting.

Golly I enjoyed these lovely tales. I've always been a sucker for the fairy tale retelling and this reimagines the gingerbread (wo)man as a delight to eat and be eaten by. The shake down by the police a little too interested when you spread your legs was also a delight. These are light-hearted softBDSM that titillate when that's just what you want. A few fantasies are brought to life for you here dear reader.

I have to say, I love the characters and scenarios Ms Jay creates. Women who are strong, yet vulnerable; fierce and loving; passionate and fun-loving. I truly enjoy the dialogue she creates between characters, as well. Weave a terrific sense of humour throughout and you have yourself a very pleasurable escape in five different stories of women and their erotic fantasies!

I loved the Fairy Tale about the Gingerbread Woman. I never give spoilers, and telling you what surprised me the most about the ending would be just that. Suffice to say, I loved it. The humour, the erotic encounter between Ginger and Candace (and how fun are their names), and the ending. I love fairytales!!

Felony is written in ‘first-person’, which I believe is really difficult to maintain, but Ms Jay was spot on with it. I was entranced with the story from beginning to end…you might need to fan yourself throughout.

Fantasy is truly that…fulfilling a playful fantasy for your wife could just possibly satisfy your own fantasy also. Just sayin’.

Forbidden tests the darker side of fantasy. One thing you learn from the characters of Lulu and Victoria is that trust is the basis for any relationship. Yes, the play scene between them is highly erotic, but the trust that goes both ways between them really stands out to me. Jay created dialogue here that had me nearly breathless.

Farewell was such a fun read! I’m not going to give spoilers here, either, I’ll just tell you I adored the characters, the dialogue, and their playtime!

Bonus is a short story with her characters Zoe and Claire, from the story Finding Love Down Under, which I have read. I mentioned trust, above, as an essential basis for any relationship. Zoe gives Claire a ‘Special Gift’ in this short story that proves her complete trust and love for Claire. And that is something I found in each of these stories. A giving of trust and love goes both ways in all relationships. Such trust can be freeing and very pleasant. Just sayin’. Go ahead, give yourself some pleasurable escape into fantasy.

I call this anthology 5 snack size treats for sexy bedtime reads. From a sexy fairytale to a kinky cat burglar, I know you will find something you’ll like in this book. Donna added a short story featuring Claire & Zoe from her debut FF book, Finding Love Down Under, to help juice up this book. Once again Miss Donna will have you squirming in your seat or sheets, just don’t read these in public (unless your into that sort of thing) 😏 I know you’ll enjoy this anthology, as much as I did!

Oh my, what a delightful read! F is for Five Sapphic Tales is part sweet and sexy and part thoughtful and taboo, but wonderful throughout. I have loved everything Donna Jay has written – especially Finding Love Down Under & Arms Wide Open – so I was excited to give this new collection a read, but even I was not surprised for the absolute pleasure of the first story.

F is for Fairy Tale may very well be the sweetest story I have ever read. From the baking, icing, and attempted eating of the Gingerbread woman, to her seduction of the woman who rescues her, to the gingerbread and candy flavored sex that follows, this put the biggest smile on my face!

F is for Felony was a fun story of fantasy role play that never takes the scenario too seriously. Naughty Bethany and Officer Louise are too in love to stay in character, allowing both playful cheekiness and heartfelt romance to show through, but that makes this all the more satisfying.

F is for Fantasy was another role play story, but the scenario and set-up were what I appreciated most. That set-up is a pair of women, happily married, with wonderful children, who need a little alone time at a kinky hotel . . . and the scenario is a naughty schoolgirl and her stern teacher.

F is for Forbidden is where that taboo thoughtfulness comes in, exploring a darker fantasy, one that could have been a disaster, but which is carefully and considerately explored. Victoria dreams of being taken against her will, surprised by a burglar, but Lulu is all about safewords and consent, and not sure she can put her sweet submissive in that position. There is a definite edge to this one, even a bit of doubt, but I though it was superb.

F is for Farewell is another thoughtful tale involving roommates who have flirted, but never given into their attraction for fear of making their friendship awkward. With Laura about to embark on a year-long journey, however, there is plenty of time for that awkwardness to fade – and there is nothing quite like a sexy send off!

The bonus story, A Special Gift, is one I have enjoyed before, but it is a fitting way to close out the collection since it merges those themes of sweet, sexy, thoughtful, and taboo. It is a story about love, fear, and trust, with a blindfold marking a bold line between past pains and future pleasures. If this is your first time meeting Zoe and Claire, then you are in for a treat!

F is for Five Sapphic Tales is fun, fantastic, fabulous, friendly, and fulfilling. Come for the gingerbread but stay for the roleplay.

We know Donna Jay is great writing sexy stories and definitely great writing BDSM.

This time she captivates us with some magnificent and steamy short stories. All of them are very well written and very steamy. Each story has a different theme, Fairy Tale, Felony, Fantasy, Forbidden, and Farewell. Also, she delights us as well with a bonus story, a special gift from Finding Love Down Under.

I love erotica and all kind of excellent good stories, short or long, if they are well-written like these I am up for them.

Ms Jay didn’t disappoint, this is a fabulous compilation of steamy short stories that I’d like to recommend.

I received an ARC copy of the book from the author and voluntarily leaving my review.

A delightful collection of F/F erotic stories so very appropriate during these shelter-in-place, stay-at-home times. It kept my rather dirty mind on sensual pleasures and my body very, very wet. XOXOXOs to Donna Jay for offering this wonderful diversion. Buy and read this book. You will not be disappointed!

F is For Five Sapphic Tales by Donna Jay contains six short stories. They are all very good fun reads. Being short stories I could not hunker down in the stories with characters as the evolved and loving bonds grew. I would have liked that in a couple of the stories. I have to give this one 4 stars and hope I see more of these characters later.

1. The Gingerbread Woman – A wonderful fairy tale with some bite.
2. F is for Felony – Some fun role play.
3. Learning Curves – Oh, sweet role play.
4. Dark Desires – Take me and thrill me
5. A Sexy Send-Of – A hot way to prepare for a long journey.
6. Bonus Story: A Special Gift - Zoe and Claire from the book Finding Love Down Under and is a loving part of their story about giving and receiving. It is touching.

I wasn’t sure whether to review this as a single book or as the five individual stories within, six including the bonus. I’ve chosen to review it as a whole because overall, my thoughts are the same concerning each of these: wonderful. Relationships are built on trust, and all of these stories show that very clearly. One even shows that friendships and non-romantic sexual relationships rely on trust, and that’s not something that most books will explore. I wish all of these, but that story in particular, could have been longer.

I could go on and on about the good parts of this short anthology because there are so many good things to say, so instead I’ll mention that the only really negative thing I could find was that the first story, ‘Fairy Tales’, wasn’t to my taste. I don’t think it was a bad story by any means, but I look for different things in sex scenes than I think most readers do. The first one lacked the emotional connection between the characters that I’ve come to expect and enjoy from this author. There are less than ten authors whose erotic scenes I’ll actively seek out to read, and Donna Jay is right up at the top of that list. The fact that I didn’t enjoy it only means that plenty of other people probably will. The rest of the stories absolutely had that emotional bond that I was looking for.

I had to give this book 4 stars because while I would absolutely recommend this book to other people, if the stories were separated into individual parts I probably would’ve given a lower mark to that first story than I gave the rest. So really I’d give this book somewhere around a 4.3 or 4.4, but since that’s not an option I have to go with the 4.

Stories are the spice of life.

Donna Jay does not disappoint with these amazing erotic story's. The story all have a theme- Fairy Tale, Felony, Fantasy, Forbidden, Farwell and a bonus story from the characters in Finding Love Down Under. Each story is brilliantly unique and so wonderful told. Then level of smoldering scenes are off the charts. It is s fun, hot and share a the Deep connections between women.

It seems most people have a variety of erotic fantasies, if true then this book is for you. There are a variety of scenarios depicted in each of the short stories. There is a popular children’s fairytale turned into a fun erotic fantasy. Some stories have role-play that is both edgy and erotic. Several stories have light BDSM Play, no story goes deep into more edgy BDSM. My favorite is it well done threesome story that was wonderfully hot and erotic. I like this book explored a variety of erotic fantasies which made the book very interesting to read.
I highly recommend this erotic book, it is fun and hot.

My copy was received for ARC review:

I call this book the Enid Blyton of lesbian sex shorts. It’s a 4. For me because I find that there’s something a bit missing( I also had trouble investing myself in the characters, maybe it’s the inability to properly build tension, scenes and emotions due to the nature of the shorts coupled with the choice in the syntax leading to a really fast paced natural rhythm further heightened with alliteration , to a point that it feels a bit choppy because of the multiple simple sentence structure in a paragraph, also the paragraphs are really short)
Especially évident in scenes with the light role play and bondage play, Love how the author still interweaved the friendly reminder of BDSM (safe, sane and consensual)

I was amused at the first story, the narrative switch in the end was a bit weird and I had a hard time remembering if ginger is actually a cookie or had she somehow Pinocchio-ed into a real woman( until the last part of the story )
The subsequent stories are similar as well as they seem to trick the reader between reality and play.

Recommend as a good read to tantalise the mind, also a really short read.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This incredibly hot lesbian erotica book is well written and very enjoyable. It's got fantasy, foreplay, fun and so much more! I almost skipped Dark Desires because even though it is a role play fantasy that's just not something I find interesting but I did read it. I was concerned that it might need a trigger warning but the way it was handled I don't think it does. It was clearly a role play fantasy. The book was scalding hot! This is not the book to read while you're at work or out in public. Donna Jay certainly knows how to spin a tale. I'll have to look into her other work.

4 stars. The first two stories had me nervous for this collection. The Gingerbread woman one was a bit too out there for me and the second one gave me the ick because I will never find police roleplay sexy. However, story three and on were really good and I ended up really liking this collection. My absolute favorite one was the last one 'A Special Gift' which follows Claire and Zoe from 'Love Down Under'. It was great to catch up with them and the gift that Zoe gives Claire was great and extremely meaningful. Loved it.

F is for Five Sapphic Tales by Donna Jay
F is for Fairy Tale: The Gingerbread Woman #1 Not my kind of story. It is well written though. Donna Jay always gives me that.
F is for Felony Frisked and Cuffed #2: Well written but not my thing. This might fly with someone else.
F is for Fantasy Learning Curves #3: A Fetish hotel makes an exciting setting.
F is for Forbidden Dark Desires #4: Fantasy fulfilled. This worked well, for me.
F is for Farewell #5: Saying goodbye can have some lovely gifts.
Bonus #6 A Special Gift: A lovely Christmas tale. Adorable and kinky as well.

Finding a perfect short story is rare in my experience. I found one here in F is for Five Sapphic Tales. It's called F is for Farewell. It has just the right amount of backstory, scene setting and character development to make the hot-as-hell sex sweet as well.

All the stories in this collection are steamy and well told and worth a revisit. I'll be keeping this downloaded in the Kindle. For reasons. ☺️

5 + a bonus story…short and spicy.
You know what you are in for with a Donna Jay book and these shorts are no different. They may be quick reads but feel a bit more than that. I’ve read others in the past that don’t seem as complete as these.
