With their relationship seemingly back on track, it seems things are beginning to look up for him despite his grief. But events take over with tragic consequences and the finger of blame points squarely in Dan's direction. As his family's fortunes continue to unravel, neither Nic nor friends Tess and Mallory seem able to reach him. With the added complication of Jules Harvey, Dan alone must figure out what is actually true, especially after deeply buried secrets begin to be unearthed.

Gripping read, flows well and keeps the reader interested throughout. It has good descriptive dialogue and brings the characters to life making the reader part of the story. The story follows Dan and his friends as they weave their way through a menagerie of events with twists and turns to discover the truth. Hopefully the next book won't be too long in coming, I am desperate to know what happens next and how they fair along the journey further into the unknown. It is a very well written book that hooks the reader making it impossible to put down. Book two please?!

Draped in Deceit penned by the author M D Charles is a captivating story that has the power to hook the readers till the last page. Main character of the story is a seventeen years old guy named Dan. His adoptive mother Fran died recently. After Fran's death, Dan's adoptive father Greg and his sister Charlotte haven't talked much to Dan. He feels weird in the house with them. This made Dan determined to know about his birth parents.

After Fran's death, for a long time he disappeared and didn't have any contact with his girlfriend Nicola, his best friend Mallory Edwards, Tess Brinham and Jules Harvey. One day, Dan called Nicola to meet. He told her that he wants to find out about his birth mother. Nic offered her help to Dan and they even searched Greg's office to find some details related to it. Read this book to know how things unveil for Dan.

Author's writing style is nice. Cover of the book is well designed. Pace of the story is fast and I didn't feel bored anytime while reading it. Narration is smooth and I enjoyed reading this story in a flow. I am interested in reading more novels by M D Charles in future.

🍷This is definitely one of those books that left me restless and curious to know what will happen next. The story is so well written that after a point I felt like I'm actually watching it and not reading. Throughout the story, I was surprised with twists that I never expected.

One of the most intriguing part was the second half of the book where I was constantly glued to the story. It's definitely a page turning story which has it all, the secrets, the emotions and the remarkable characters.
It's enjoyable. Go for it.
