The experience of smell is the closest thing we have to intimate human contact without actually having it. A woman's perfume, a whiff of tobacco smoke, a little bit of diesel fume, and some spearmint gum might come close to someone's first kiss, for example. Of course, it's impossible to create a first kiss without the human element, but for Jim Bronson, it's the best he can do. "Whiff" is the story of a man whose only meaningful contact with the world is through smells. Follow his journey as he works his way out of his mother's basement out into the wide world of people and relationships.
Such a sweet story with a very interesting concept of smells and fragrance. Jim takes us through his thoughts and curious mind and you can't help but love him. The book moved me to tears and is likely one I will read again and again.
Exploring this world with the author and Jim is very interesting but at the same time I found myself getting scooped up in between the pages. With a writing style that can easily grab the reader's attention this book is going to please older ages.
