The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1884 under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. It is used by Jehovah’s Witnesses to support their worldwide work, which includes publishing Bibles and Bible-based literature.
According to its charter, the corporation’s purposes are “religious, educational, and charitable,” in particular, to “preach and teach the gospel of God’s Kingdom under Christ Jesus.” Membership in the corporation is by invitation only and is not based on how much a person has donated. The corporation members and directors assist the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
This book is absolutely engaging and amazing. Chapter 7 was so remarkable. Jeremiah's personality and his experiences in life truly can help us to cope with our problems. I have this chapter marked as to read and read again. Chapter 8 is especially encouraging for our single friends who have chosen to remain single or childless in order to have other priorities in life. The pictures are wonderful and the modern day ones are truly unique in that they seem to carry thru the entire book.
This book is surprisingly, very introspective, comparing modern day Christians to Jeremiah's role in his day. It asks two questions of the reader, "How do Jeremiah's writings relate to people today?" and "What lessons can you find in the book of Jeremiah"?
“‘For I well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward you,’ declares Jehovah, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of calamity,a to give you a future and a hope."..Jeremiah 29:11 Yes, this is a book of hope.
"'I shall without fail furnish you an escape, and by the sword you will not fall; and you will certainly come to have your soul as a spoil, because you have trusted in me,' is the utterance of Jehovah." Jer. 39:18
A wonderful book which lays out the prophecies and life of Jeremiah in a simple and chronological order. Jeremiah was a man who felt he was too young to carry out the commission Jehovah gave him, but with holy spirit from God, the prophet spoke in a straight-forward manner to the Ancient Israelites. His example for us today has vast effect on each.
This is a wonderful book. It describes the life and prophesies of Jeremiah. It shows parallels between his preaching work and the modern day work of Jehovah's Witnesses. Seeing how Jehovah cared for Jeremiah during that trying time, comforts today's witnesses who face similar challenges.
