At this extraordinary moment across the globe, our Audible UK colleagues teamed up with some of their biggest comedic stars to invite you into their homes for some uplifting chat in this Audible Original comedy.
Top comedian friends, who like the rest of the UK are in lockdown, get in touch with each other from their respective homes to have a conversation about how they’re getting on. These are warts-and-all chats, home recorded by the stars themselves, as they try to find the positive and even funny in these extraordinary times.
Chapter 1: Sarah Millican & Jason Manford Chapter 2: Dawn French & Jennifer Saunders Chapter 3: Kurupt FM Chapter 4: Jimmy Carr & Katherine Ryan Chapter 5: Simon Pegg & Nick Frost Chapter 6: Rob Delaney & Sharon Horgan Chapter 7: Tez Ilyas & Sindhu Vee Chapter 8: Harry Enfield & Paul Whitehouse
As is the case with most of these collections, this one was very uneven and I would normally have given it one less star, but the bit between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost made the whole thing worthwhile, especially when Simon talks about how we humans are basically an accident of nature as opposed to these god-like beings who own the universe. Yay Simon!
Some of these were great, really funny and you could feel a natural friendship, some felt more staged and I should probably have listened in April before I was sick of covid restrictions.

I wasn't familiar with most of these comedians, but I enjoyed hearing about their lockdown experiences in the UK. I also walked while I listened to it, so my additional comments in parentheses were added later.
Chapter 1: Sarah Millican & Jason Manford
Chapter 2: Dawn French & Jennifer Saunders
Chapter 3: Kurupt FM (These guys were probably my favorite. They had me laughing out loud.)
Chapter 4: Jimmy Carr & Katherine Ryan
Chapter 5: Simon Pegg & Nick Frost (These are the only two British comedians that I knew from their past feature film work.)
Chapter 6: Rob Delaney & Sharon Horgan
Chapter 7: Tez Ilyas & Sindhu Vee (The guy's stories about his mom's adjacent fame cracked me up.)
This was a nice, light hearted listen, though I must admit that much of it is lost on my American culture. While I can relate to some of the references made, there is much lost on me, I'm sure, given my lack a familiarity with British culture.
I will admit, though, that it is nice to see how people in other parts of the world are dealing with the quarantine necessitated by this pandemic. It's a pleasure to hear others who are not morose given their situation, who find humor in their plight, and I have to say that I found it entertaining as I performed light tasks around the house.
I thought this was pretty good! It's just a bunch of comedians making the most of lockdown whilst sharing their experiences of it over the phone to each other, but it's really quite funny!
some interviews are better than the other- the Kurupt FM piece was a five-star episode. Some were pretty repetitive. Simon Pegg/Nick Frost were pretty cool too.
