I enjoy photographers who lift up the curtain and let us into their lives and the lives of those they photograph. I decided to look into Goldin's work after rematching Six Feet Under and Claire mentions her work. I realized I saw some of her pictures at a show in Toronto on outsider artists. Her work has an intimacy that is missing from a lot of work because she turns her camera on herself and her group of friends.

I could have done without a few shots though, namely people on toilets. Uh, thanks anyway.

I loved the rest though.

Nan Goldin is one of my favorite documentary photographers. Her work exposes life, love, and all the ugly that comes with it.
