FIVE JOBS. FIVE CHANCES FOR REDEMPTION.

One thing’s for sure: these men are no angels.

Two jobs down, three to go, and job #3 is mine. My name is Ridge Pfeiffer, I’m a dirt poor jewel thief from the wrong side of the tracks, and I don't play well with others.

Theoretically, the deal works like this. I do the job Charlie planned for me and Miranda erases my past, makes my biggest problems go away. Too bad my biggest problem is the one thing I don’t want to go away: Diplomatic Security Agent Davis Ethan.

When Davis caught me breaking into a safe during job #2, I should have ended up in jail. instead, I ended up in his bed. Rich, gorgeous, and privileged, the only thing we have in common is a love of beautiful lingerie and beautiful men. He’s everything I hate, everything I want, and he could destroy me with a word.

There are a hundred red flags surrounding this job, I should walk away and take my chances, but I’m going to do it anyway. Anything to buy me one more night with Davis.

One more job, one more night, and then I’ll leave for good.

This series is very underrated, I’m surprised at not seeing more than two of you read it, and only trice liked it. COME FANGIRL WITH ME BB🧡

So, our team of blackmailed con artists got a new and more exciting mission of breaking into a mansion with RIDICULOUS CODE NAMES to find a secret hidden room and uncover a century old love letters written in a secret language, prove he was murdered and avenge his lover’s descendants.

These guys are so much fun to read about, like Josie, who everyone wants to marry because she’s a badass! I don’t blame them, I want to marry her too! The main couple are sweet, kinky and hot, most of you will approve. And finally I will get to read Carson’s story next, I hope it’s good because he’s a very interesting character, you can’t help falling in love with by each installment.

PS. The ‘secret language’ between the twins as kids so their mother wouldn’t understand, reminded me of this car drive from the mall ages ago, when my sister and I were talking ‘secretly’ about a cute guy we saw WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN our mother asks ‘you mean the one next to that store? he wasn’t bad’ WHAT??!!!!!😂😂🫶🫶 apparently, we used it too much that she picked it up lmfao

I love this series, but this book was the weakest so far.

There are few reasons for that. First of all, the whole scheme that our team carries out is not as interesting as in the previous books. I preferred the carefully planned cons from the previous books. Ridge is a professional thief, there was such potential in his character. I was expecting something spectacular, but the whole idea seemed hastily invented. And everything is basically completed in one day, without any careful preparations. In my opinion, this is a great missed opportunity.

Second, I wasn't impressed with the romance. It happens mostly outside the pages of this book. Ridge and Davis met at the end of the previous book. In this we learn that they have met regularly since then. And this is the moment when they are basically in love with each other. All the rest is just one day in their lives when they finally admit their feelings. We do not see any development of their relationship on the pages of this book. It is a pity because they make a unique couple with a nice dynamics. Again, this is untapped potential.

So I'm a bit disappointed. But I still love the series and these characters. I am very curious about the next book. I hope it turns out to be better.

RTC....

~*~

I do very much enjoy this series, and overall this third installment was enjoyable, and I did like Ridge and Davis together.

My main reason for taking off a 1.25 stars is because I felt like this moved really fast between Ridge and Davis. There was a hint of something going on between them in book 2, but we didn't get to see it, really, and in this things start happening and then we learn through somewhat of a flashback that they slept together, and they have been sleeping together for however long.

We get Ridge going to see Davis with one hot sex scene and then the main events happen in about one night and then these two are already confessing love for each other, but then at the very end we do get the promise of a HFN but we don't and then the story was over and it felt very abrupt.

Their relationship just progressed way too fast and we didn't get to see enough of them being together and all these moments leading up to love.

The plot was still enjoyable, and I still enjoyed these two and liked them together. But it was just too fast and then not enough of them at the end for my tastes. I think the ending, at least, could have been better.

Now we're getting Carson's book next, which I'm excited for, yes, but also we won't get any more with Ridge and Davis, and that made me ultimately give less than 4 stars with this, because there wasn't enough of these two in the first place, and what there was of them went way too fast.

Overall, pretty good third installment, but could have been better, with more care taken with the writing of this relationship.

I still recommend this, it was still a fun read overall, but the fastness just didn't work the best for me.

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Stars

I’m basically a broken record when I come to reviews for this series. I end up feeling the same way every time. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What’s good:

-The friendship between all these guys, a sort of Robin Hood and his merry men thing. I love seeing their friendships evolve and them starting to trust each other. Lots of humor too with all of them. I’ll finish this series to the end for this.

What didn’t work all the way:

-I had high hopes for Ridge’s book because I’d been curious about him from the beginning. However I didn’t end up loving his romance any more than the previous two books. Much like those, things moved too fast for my liking which prevented me from getting all the way attached to him and Davis. A little too insta-love and things turned cheesy fast. A.E. Wasp seems very good at setting up future couples in the book leading up to their story. Yet the follow through leaves something to be desired.

-Things got OTT and wacky when they went in to solve the, “case.” (For lack of a better word.) This is also how I felt about the first two books.

-Book would have benefited from some more editing. This felt more glaring than the last two.

So, I’m not being a total negative Nancy. This had parts I really liked. It’s worth the read and I will keep reading them. I’ve grown attached to this merry band of misfits. I just wish the romance was better developed and the action not as OTT.

I wanted to like this because I really enjoyed the first two books but this was bizarre and confusing. I had a hard time following along and the relationship with the two MCs felt rushed. Honestly, it was disappointing because Ridge is a great character. I liked the lingerie though!

Ok, so I don’t know how many are keeping up with this series, but if you are one that isn’t you are missing out. It’s one heck of a series and I’m loving every minute of it. My only issue is I want to know who Al is. And for Leo to stop being put through so much because of him. If you’ve read, you’ll understand. If you haven’t you need to start with book 1. I have my feelings on who Al is and I’m anxiously awaiting on the reveal. But this is Ridge’s story and it’s a doozy as well. These guys are getting put through the ringer and I’m with several of them in wishing Charlie was alive to beat him.
Ridge is used to be considered trailer trash. Add thief and a few other things to the mix and he’s used to not feeling much worth. But something about Davis is making him change his feelings about some things. And he wished that wasn’t the case. He is really feeling things for Davis and all he wished he could feel was hate. Especially when he knows he could have been arrested and could still possibly. Which brings the next job. It feels completely off to Ridge from the beginning. There’s just something that’s hiding and it’s throwing him off his game at this job. And at one point, they are all wanting to end it. But they have to find justice, especially when the truth is found out. But as usual, with these jobs especially, the truth comes with a cost. And it’s a question of if the cost can be lived with or even if they make it out alive.
This has some extremely hot moments in it. NOT going to lie. The chemistry alone between Ridge and Davis is off the charts and when they get together. Holy smokes. It doesn’t help that one of their kinks is one of my own. But this book is a hard one. It’s getting a lot more personal each and every mission. And the stuff coming out in this one is hard for all of them in different ways. There are things happening behind the scenes that make it worse. But in the end, the betrayals, the secrets and lies, it’s all pushed them all to a point where they are all about to say enough. No matter what it costs them. And after what I’ve read, I don’t blame them at all. Especially with the way it ends up being centered around Ridge and Davis. In the end, I agree with Leo at the end. When is enough truly enough? And why are they having to go to the extremes they are having to go.
It makes for some VERY good reading. But it’s not an easy thing that they are all going through. But I’m definitely anxious to see what’s coming next. I’ve been wanting to know the past of this person and what brought him to the table. He has so many secrets that he refuses to share. And I have a feeling it’s going to be another doozy.

Every new instalment makes me love this series more!
The concept is great: five criminals are blackmailed by a dead con to get together to finish his "unfinished jobs", which always seem to mean righting wrongs. Each job will be headed by one of the MCs.

This third book features Ridge, the resident thief and Agent Davis Ethan, with Diplomatic Security.
The sparkles started flying between these two from their very first interaction on Isla Rosa in the timeframe of book 2, and they have a sort of hook up arrangement where they only get in touch for sex. But Ethan wants something more, but is wary of letting Ridge know because he doesn’t want him to run screaming. They both know the other is keeping secrets, and throughout the course of the book they will unravel and their bond will grow stronger until they’re so intertwined they cannot imagine being without the other.

I love how the team is becoming closer ad closer, a chosen family of sorts, as most of the characters seem to have a lack of the family they're born into, for one reason or another.
I am excited for the next chapters of this journey!

I love this series! I've been waiting for this book and I read it in a single setting. This is dual POV and I would recommend reading the series in order.

Ridge and Davis are so hot together. This is total opposites attract. And Davis is a total goner for Ridge. There's murder, drama, money and kinky sex of the lingerie variety.

Yes I adore their individual love stories. But more than that, I love the camaraderie between the guys. I mean is there a better found family than a group of vigilantes?

Some of the phrases in those hundred years old letters resonated deep within me. It's proof that they can't erase us. That
we exist. And those words almost brought me to tears.

I'm really looking forward to Carson's book and I cannot wait for it! And is Charlie really dead? I just suspect something (it's probably just my overactive imagination).

I really like the Pros & Cons series. I guess it was just unfortunate that I never particularly liked Ridge.

I had two major issues with this book:

1.) The heist element was very little. I mean, yes, half of this book is the heist but it did not feel very much like one. They barely planned anything and just went in YOLO. But it's the clever planning that I usually like so much.

2.) I kinda liked Davis but he was kinda boring too. The hurdles between him and Ridge were, or at least so I thought, decently big but they were just pushed aside instead of resolved properly. But who needs to talk about stuff when you can have instalove amirite??

My issues were mostly book-specific (or Ridge-specific rather), so I will definitely continue this series. I've been waiting for Carson's book (FINALLY!!!) and I can't wait to see who his LI is. I was hoping it would be the hooker from book #1 but it seems very unlikely.

I also hope sincerely that Al != Charlie because that would a.) be too cliché and b.) destroy that awesome unrequited love/ pining that Al has going on (and I love me some of that angst). But I think Al must be someone the reader knows about before the big reveal and this late into the game I doubt that someone 'new' will be introduced. Which is a shame because I wanted Al to be the overlooked, pining man in the shadows- it kinda sounds stalkerish now that I write that down. oops.

tl;dr: Yay for Carson! Pls gimme Stalker Al.

First, I'd like to thank A. E. Wasp for a chance to read her book! And what a book! I don't give 5 stars easily this year, so this means a lot!
This is the 3rd book in the series, so I knew what to expect and I got it all right. This is real entertaining literature, a lighthearted and funny read. The writer has a peculiar style, but I really like it and the conmen / con-artist trope too.
Now, Ridge - the jewel thief- is about to pull himself out of Charlie's blacklist and the task is to repair one of Charlie's juvenile errors by returning an inheritance to its rightful owners. This is where Davis comes in, appearing in the previous book as a undercover agent on Isla Rosa. He and Ridge began their relationship there, which they had previously kept secret from the company, but now the situation has changed and Davis finds himself in the middle of a mission.
Ridge and Davis were probably the my most favourite couple in the series. I liked that the relationship between the two was not at the expense of the story, but complemented it nicely. The erotic parts are not exaggerated, but what the author wrote was really piquant.
The story is both hectic and entertaining, and at times absurd and unbelievable. I would have read it practically in one place.
By the end of the book, the story got really intense, and I can't wait for what the last two episodes hold for the characters (and the readers)!

MM, 1st person POV, dual POV.
Technically, could be read as a standalone since it's about a different couple (Ridge's and Davis, a guy we meet in #2) but there is a overall arc, characters's back stories, who's who, who's doing what, why are there here, together, doing what they do. All that is learned in #1 and #2.
Love Ridge. Him and Leo's stories are the one I want(ed) the most.
Ridge and Davis are fun, they have great chemistry, kinda completed each other. The sex is hot and sexy and fun (and not every other page, which leave place for a actual story). Both are lingerie lover.
It's a interesting plot. The letters are beautiful.
There is no drama, or miscommunication, they talk and discuss things. Every one is on the same page. No pinning with half truth. They are honest with their feeling and action. I love that!

I love that group of people.
Each are different, has their role in the team, their personality. Their relationship/friendship with eachother evolve, they become close and caring.
Now, does Charlie had a twin? He is dead? Or just officially dead but very much alive?? Leo's book is gonna be epic.

Can't wait for the next one!!

Not like the others...

In P&C of Decp, we knew that Ridge ended up in bed with someone. Process of elimination said Davis. The comments from that scene sounded like they were in bed together & drowning. But according to this book, they never used a bed until that last night. Sooo discrepancy. ...

The book read more like a continuation of book ywo since Ridge & Davis were still carrying on in secret. The lingerie kink was a surprise but a fun one. I liked this pairing & their interactions but the instalove lurked in the wings. It was a bit quick.

I dont know what to make of Steele & Brecks continued comments about bringing in a third..Wouldnt that feel like his hooking days?

The next book will be Carsons...makes me wonder about the man with a 100 faces...

I love, love this series.... A cross between Charlie’s Angels and mission impossible with a team of hot dudes with dubious history. This mission is all about righting a wrong and solving a hundred year old murder mystery. Ridge is in charge of this mission, stealth and thievery required, to find the evidence hidden in an ancient mansion. And, Yes! Agent Davis Ethan is back, hot as ever... garters & lingerie and all!

There are some improbable bits to this, but when real action starts, nothing goes right, and I quite enjoyed that. I like this cast, but Ridge? He's such an ornery get, I loved him. Plus, the Ridge and Davis dynamic? Delightful. I am happy I got sidetracked so now the next book or two's already out waiting for me. These are the kind of fun with emotional depth. My catnip.

5 Hungover Stars!!!

For maximum enjoyment, Pros & Cons of Desire needs to be read in order, otherwise, you might be a tad lost with the recurring characters and the continuing storyline.

That said, now for the Pros:

Each new book has been better than the previous one(s). I think a lot of it has to do with the growing sense of camaraderie, of trust between the guys, Miranda and Josie, and even Al, who I'm just so curious about. I just can't seem to get enough of them all interacting with each other and working together on all the different cases, using their own strengths as an advantage to solve them.

I loved this particular case. It was intriguing and I liked that it was an over a century-old romance/mystery and how they managed to solve it. Of course, it being such an old case, there wouldn't be a proper reparation, but it worked out in the end, sort of. LOL Plus, the love letters were so romantic! *dreamy sigh*

While the romance between Davis and Ridge took a bit of a backseat to everything else happening, it was undeniable they had chemistry and while their relationship was different than what I expected at first—although not that unexpected really, considering Ridge's control issues—they seemed to bring out the best out in each other. I particularly liked that Davis didn't waver in his affections or his trust in Ridge, even when he found out about the extent of their operation and what they wanted to do and was actually an active participant in their little ruse.

I totally didn't expect the case to go the way it did, although once one of the players was introduced it wasn't difficult to figure who he really was and what he might be after. I wanted a bit more closure in that respect, but I understood that with what happened next everything else kind of fell to the background.

And the Cons:

I hated Davis's mom with a passion, she was a horrible excuse for a mother.

Being so hungover I have no clue what to do with my life. *cries* The struggle is real. I still have 4 books to go to finish the month and none sounds especially appealing after finishing this one. *cries some more*

Having to wait I don't know how long for the next installment. Ms. Wasp, pretty please, hurry up with Carson's story, because I'm dying to know more about him.

Seriously, please do yourself a favor and start with the first book in the series. It's such an original, fun, entertaining, hot concept and I'm loving every second. Having the chance to listen to the audiobooks and then read this new installment in the space of the last 2 weeks, made the experience even better, even if it'll be hell waiting for the last two books.

You know what cracks me up about this series? That when he plotted and schemed, when he manipulated all these men into working together, I'm sure Charlie never expected he'd start something close to a matchmaking operation for them. First Steele with Breck, then Wesley and Danny fall in love, and now it's Davis and Ridge's turn.

Davis and Ridge. The government agent and the thief...the irony of fate, right? Because these two just can't stay away from each other ever since they've met on Isla Rosa, previously in the series. They only know their first names, clueless about their real identities. And it's enough, for now, when their chemistry is scorching hot, despite  the fact that, not matter how much they argue the contrary, there's more between them than passion.

What I found absolutely exciting was how the author made their realities clash. Because the plot of Pros &Cons of Desire is delightfully twisted and full of surprises. A mystery to shed light on, a hidden chamber than holds prove to a beautiful, century old love story, an inheritance that might change hands ... secrets that might destroy anything Ridge and Davis have, shattering trust and feelings.

Pros &Cons of Desire is my favorite of the series so far. It's more light-hearted and it definitely made me laugh a lot. Just as suspenseful as the others, with the guys and their incredible group dynamic and entertaining interactions. I just love them, and I can't wait to see what Charlie has in store for them next.

Love, intrigue, action, righting wrongs and so much more!   I love this series and each book is just having me fall more in love with these characters.  I really enjoyed how these two MC's found themselves in a really non-tenable position with wanting each other, but not being able to trust or give of themselves until the unexpected happens.  The story-line is creative and filled with surprises.  The pacing was perfect and kept me reading.  The writing flowed and i enjoyed how the story kept me reading from cover to cover.

Ridge and Davis are really wonderful characters and you get to see their hopes and their fears.  They are amazing together and the steam of present and their fantasies of the future are terrific.  I really enjoyed them together and am looking forward to seeing more in the future.

This is book three of the Pros and Cons series and can be read as a stand-alone.  I do recommend the other books in this series because they setup the story and give you important background on everyone and everything that brought this group together.  I am so looking forward to the next book!

I really love that we continue to see everyone working together on these jobs and we see growth in each couple as time goes by.  Terrific series!

I  was gifted this book from Gay Book Promotions and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

The gift of time

I love this series and am dying to know who mystery man is but until then I will happily and greedily read everyone’s journeys. A thief and agent along with danger and a mystery; yes please, may I have some more? “I don’t want to tame you. I want you to make me wild.” Ridge and Davis are hot, hot, hot! I adore how prickly and sarcastic Ridge is. He made me laugh so much. Davis may be a bit naive at times but I loved his many surprises and how deep he feels everything.

“The only person I want to see anymore is you.” Watching them fall in love was amazing. They squished my heart so many times. Scatter in some people that you want to hate; however, there are so many shades when it comes to good versus bad in this book that it makes you think. Layers and layers of intrigue abound in this book and I can’t get enough. Each time I read a new book in this series I fall more in love with all the guys and never want to return to real life. An excellent and thrilling addition to the series and I want the next one now.

2.5 rounded up

This series continues to be solidly okay. Something about this one did feel a little under-developed. Because we're dropped into this pairing after they'd already met and started fooling around, I feel like the author didn't put much work into trying to sell their connection, and the end result was that, although I liked the characters individually, I didn't really care much about them together and didn't really buy the sudden ~love~ aspect. Even the smut was a bit meh, and though I'm not at all opposed to a bit of panty!kink, it really felt sort of shoe-horned in. The heist/plot was far more developed, if a little confusingly convoluted. Still find the whole Leo/Al/Charlie thing to be really unappealing, and I'm already not looking forward to that eventual book--it's clearly being built as the grand finale, and I find it actively off-putting. I'm curious about Carson's book which is coming next though, as I have no idea where that one will go.

I am enjoying this series very much. Ridge, our jewel thief from the wrong sided of the tracks, is this twin to Breck. Davis, diplomatic security, comes from money and has a love for sexy lingerie. Both men have secrets, can't stay away from each other and Ridge doesn't want to need Davis. That said, their chemistry is hot. The mystery in this book was always very interesting about 2 men, in love, spend years apart but ultimately marry; and then one of them is murdered. The last few chapters were intense, surprising, fast paced and omg, there is their HEA. Definitely looking forward to book 4!

The third book in the series picks up soon after the end of the second case. This case is a bit different from the two previous cases the team has worked and solved. The plot is a bit deeper and takes the reader on a twisting road that leads to buried secrets. Ridge stars in this book and we again see Davis who was introduced in book 2. The usual shenanigans ensue along with a side of mystery and romance. Join the team on their latest escapade. Keep in mind this book is part of a series and it DOES NOT stand alone. The books need to be read in order.

I absolutely love this series and this one didn’t disappoint. I liked that Davis and Ridge continues their “relationship” after they were home from the last job. I think they complement each other well. This book didn’t have as much build up to the actual job as the others and everything that could go wrong did even if they got it all figured out in the end.

I can’t wait to see how the last two jobs go with how everything ended and hopefully Davis will be able to join Ridge soon.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

This one was a but different than the first two assignments. I liked Ridge and Davis, they had the instant attraction thing going from the start. I think giving the back story of how the met off page in book 2 helped to make the troupe work in this book. I enjoyed the guys in this one too. Things kinda went south at the end and it wasn't what I was expecting, it leaves us with a cliffhanger. I was hoping for more of a conclusion for Ridge and Davis. I guess I'll have to wait and see how things go.

This was one fantastic, snarky, grab-you-by-the-feels, amazing, fast paced, action packed, emotionally charged, more twists and turns than a roller coaster, incredible, explosively hot, filled with mystery, keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat, exciting, delightfully different, and totally freaking awesome addition to a marvelous series. It had me hooked from beginning to end, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

This was a much easier story than the first two ... but I enjoyed it. I would have liked to get more of Ridges background but it was well done.
The mystery was interesting ... and I liked Davis solution.
What was missing was a bit more page time for them as a couple at the end
