Book Title: My Ramyeon Girl
Author: Nethra A
Format: Kindle Edition

Book Title:
The title of the book is ‘My Ramyeon Girl’ is unique and attractive

Book Cover:
The cover of the book is a digital image of the bowl full of Rameyon and chopsticks placed on it. This doesn't talk much about the story but syncs with the title.

Plot:
This is the story of an Indian girl and a Korean guy who meet in a very dramatic way. Lee Jung-Su is a Korean movie star and a busy personality meets Meena at a Ramyeon shop. He teaches her ho to have the Rameyon with the chopsticks as she struggles to handle it.

Soon they get to know each other but Meena never treats him as a celebrity. She captures his attention and attracts him with her charm and simplicity. He faces a lot of criticism and doubts in his real-life but Meena’s thoughts and their meeting brings a smile on his face and calms his mind.

She gets to know that he is a star and still treat him like a normal person. One day Jung-Su meets with an accident and recovers from the injuries and decides to meet Meena.

Will he propose her? Will he express his feeling towards her? What happens to his career and his fame? What will be Meena’s reaction?

Well, read this different and a cute story between two youngsters which will capture your attention.

What I like:
1. The plot and the characterization are very well done.
2. The character of the protagonist fills the essence in the story.
3. The narration was good and the scenes are designed beautifully.

What I didn’t like:
There is nothing to dislike. It is a simple and sweet story.

Narration:
The narration is done in a good way and it could be more interesting and enthusiastic.

Language & Grammar:
A clear language with neat and uncomplicated grammar is used in the book

My Final Verdict:
An interesting and gentle story that refreshes the old memories of the tender love one has ever experienced. People with different culture fall in love and makes the story beautiful. Book with twists and turns and with an unusual ending which gives the readers a good and lovable experience.

The cover of the book is apt and attractive. The title is perfect.

Characterization could have been better. Narration is smooth. End of the story is unexpected.
The con is that one cannot relate to the story.

Title : My Ramyeon Girl
Author : Nethra A
Genre : Fiction

um, well i have mixed feelings about this book. I can't say i liked it much and i can't say i disliked it either. So i'll just list the goods and the bads and the ones reading the review can decide for themselves whether it suits their interests !

Background : set in South Korea , inter-racial love story between two people from different backgrounds

goods☑️
i) the work shows research's been made on Korean culture
ii) the story is set in Korea which is not something we usually find in our regular books
iii) promotes healthy inter-racial relations
iv) gives you a nice glimpse inside a celebrity's life - the goods and the bads
v) teaches you how important balance in life is ,especially a balance between love and career in today's world
vi) the concept of the story is really well-thought of

bads❎
i) imagery was almost non-existent which made it really difficult to imagine the characters
ii) the characters weren't detailed, as a result of which ,i couldn't really relate with them till the end
iii) the story was very loosely spun, it was like a madrush - jumping from one event to another , that didn't seem connected .
The writing wasn't very fluid.
iv) also, something else that irked me was that women were sexualised in the story, even if not very vividly. I might be wrong and someone else might feel differently but that's how certain portions made me feel.

All in all, it was a 2.8🌟 read for me.

My Views :
The beginning of the story introduces the reader's to the life of South-Korean Celebrities.
One can understand the Work commitment, & the stress that Celebrities undergo to meet the requirements.
The meeting with Meena was quite unique & that is the cause for the cover design which I loved.
Initially I found Meena as very simple & Childish but the character development in later stages is huge since as the story proceeds, Meena turns out to be the most Mature lady probably more than Lee Jung-Su.
Lee-Jung-Su, on the other hand wins the heart of readers through his honest love..
Never did I once felt any kind of ego inside him even after being admired by thousands of people.
The book narrates the exact picture in the Film industry..
The ending is quite painful if you are connected too much with the story but I found it practical too.
Overall it was a Unique & Practical read.

Loved it

How would you help your friend to choose between love and career?

My Rameyon Girl is a neatly written love story. Plot is based on South Korea. Jung-Su a celebrity disguise himself to eat at his favorite old shop. There is a saying when you have to fall in love, you will find your soul mate/partner in an unexpected place. Meena is another important character here. Being a story set in South Korea names of Characters are hard to pronounce and remember. But its something no one can help a reader with.

Story is straightforward and precise. Keeping it short and sweet. Author has apparently express how two opposite personalities fall in love and how they manage to get through it. If one is practical than other one is emotional and in need of love and affection. Yes, there are times when story falls flat, but the next turn plot makes it a steady read. When dealing with Paparazzi's and rumors about them were pushing them over the edge. Their love grew up.

Vocabulary is rich and effective. It has shown artistic differences between the two characters. Where Meenu had excel in her field and Jung-Su was still learning new things.

In a nutshell, this story is crowded with emotions, controversies, and adventures.
Exhibiting that love makes one strong and not weak.

I would recommend it.

A very unique take on Korean romance drama

I downloaded the sample and after reading I just had to buy a copy!
For some reason I kept picturing Lee Min Ho as the protagonist ... This is a very well researched piece of fiction with detailed descriptions of Korean star lives. For someone who has been a fan of K dramas since college days, I loved the take on romance depicted here. Everything doesn't have to be a star spangled drama. It's a short read, very well written with a good hold over the imagery.
A bit more emphasis could have been spared on the romance, more perspective from the female point of view. It's still a mystery to me why the female protagonist behaved the way she did.
Overall, kudos to the pick of genre and form of story telling.

Set in South Korea, Nethra’s book My Ramyeon Girl is about a famous South Korean celebrity Lee Jung-Su, who falls in love with an Indian girl Meena in a Ramyeon shop. Thenceforth, life for Jung-Su isn’t same anymore. It is a Roller-Coaster ride wrought with love and heartbreak.

Hmm… Aren’t all romance novels has the same concept? Well, they do, but not this one. To know the ‘Hows’ and ‘Whys’ of it, you have got to read it.

Okay, so what do I think of the Story?

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from the story of My Ramyeon Girl. I thought it to be the same old romance and their happy endings. Not that I have any problem with such books. In fact, I gobble them up in no time. But this time I was surprisingly jolted out of my comfort zone by the author’s brilliant storyline.

What about the Characters?

What I liked most about this book is their characters. Each one of them were carved intricately. Especially, Lee Jung-Su, who stole my heart with his vulnerable personality and and a subtle sense of humour.
Though, however good the main two characters were; unfortunately, they lacked chemistry. The ‘zing’ that makes the heart sing wasn’t there.

About the Writing Style?

Nethra made sure to use the vernacular so that a larger part of Indian readers can easily connect with her. I also liked the way she did not drag the story with unnecessary words. Even the conversations between the characters were quite engaging and that I rarely can find in books written by Indian authors. In addition, I liked her narrative style: simple and lucid.
The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of vividness to the story. A few colours here and there that could have made the book brilliantly striking were missing. Apart from that, Nethra’s book My Ramyeon Girl was quite an entertaining read.

Recommended?

A perfect read for newbies in love with romance genres.

Labelling can be the worst thing society can do to a person. And then the struggle to remove those tags is very difficult. The protagonist of our story faced the same thing.

The book is set in South Korea and encapsulates the life of Lee Jung-Su. He is a Korean movie star who is labelled as a "Gay" because of some unforeseen circumstances. To remove that tag, his manager Min-Sik helped him in every way possible. Later the story continues and Lee met Meena. They met in a ramyeon shop where he founds that meena was struggling to eat ramyeon with chopsticks. He steps forward to help her. She was not at all aware of his celebrity status, so treats him just like one another person.
On one fine day during his autograph signing session, he got injured and ended up in a hospital. His sister took care of him, but all he could think of is Meena.
Will he propose him after his recovery?
How will Meena react?
What will happen to his carreer and fame?

Now talking about the book, I really liked the setting of the book as it is the first book I've read with Korean setting. Although it took time for me to get hang of the names and terminologies.
The language and grammar used in the book is very decent and adds a little charm to it. Narration is fairly paced and very well done. The scenes are very beautifully described by the author. The plot is very simple and romantic and yet it is very cute.
This book strikes the appropriate chord of "Racism" in a very subtle manner. The chapter in which Meena and Lee met, was very well written and extremely funny. Meena's struggle to eat ramyeon with chopsticks was funny to read.

The characters are very well-developed keeping the theme of the book in mind. Lee gave me complete K pop vibes. The way his character is described is on point.
His manager Min-Sik is my favorite . He is ambitious, pushy and determined towards his job.

The title goes very well with the plot. The cover is nice, but I think it could have been a bit more aesthetic.

Overall, this book is a very quirky, short and unique book with some disturbing themes described in a subtle manner.

The unique name and cover caught my attention and I couldn’t resist picking this up. I am glad that I picked up this book as I have been struggling for any different read since few days and this was the perfect one. I will briefly summarise the blurb trying to avoid spoilers. The protagonist of the story is Jung- Su. The story starts when he was shooting for “Crown Prince”. Min-Sik has been managing his career since he was sixteen. His friendship with male friends was hyped my media and he was tagged him as “gay” and that was the concern for Min-Sik so he was sent on certain blind dates. One day he met an Indian girl in the restaurant. Her name was Meena. She didn’t know his background or he was famous or a star. He trained Meena how to eat Ramyeon with chopsticks and their story began. Read the book to unfold further plot. I loved the plot. It’s quite different as I said earlier. I struggled to get through the names definitely but after few pages, my brain got adapted. I loved how author has plotted many twists and turns. I couldn’t predict any of the event. I loved how author has taken simple pieces from our routine and presented beautifully. I liked the language and vocabulary used. The narration style of the author is smooth. I felt like I was watching a movie entire time and I absolutely loved the end. It was unexpected for me after these many twists. Overall good one. Recommended from my side.

Tender love track

The story is about the tender love between the Korean movie star Lee Jung-Su and the Indian girl Meena. Their meet happens in a stunning way in a Ramyeon shop. This short meet with an Indian girl leaves an impression in the heart of the protagonist. He slowly gets attracted to her and develops a bond with her. Names of characters used in this book seemed very new to me and yet somewhat near to the Korean style. The characterization is okayish but could be elaborated on the different aspects of the protagonist's life rather than only focusing on one aspect in a broader way.
The other side of the celebrities, their fears, insecurities, shallowness, even with all fame and money is well captured in this book.
The story is too short and delightful to be read, inscribed on the soft love track between two different souls that belonged to different nations.

Rating: 3/5.

My Ramyeon girl is a beautifully written book with an unique backdrop of South Korean film industry. Story is about a Jung su a famous star and when he met Meena an Indian girl in a Ramyeon shop, where she tried to eat ramyeon with chopsticks but can't able to do that then Jung su teaches her how to eat Ramyeon. Here their love story starts slowly and gradually but being a celebrity he had to face racism and how he can be with an Indian girl but he is ready to face everything for Meena so it's a very intresting story and the way author narrates the story which really intrigued me to go through this book. I really like some scenes when they met and behaved with each other like their shyness and blushing when they saw each other. This book has a fresh feel and well described characters makes this book a perfect engrossing read.

After reading the book the mystery if the title was over.. before starting this book I was just wondering what this titles means but now I know what it means.
This story is about Jung su who is a Korean celebrity and falls for a girl Meena who meets at an eatery where he teaches her how to eat Ramyeon. So now you get the idea why this name. After this meet how do they bond and is there love story a success or just another fling of a star. The controversies that surround them and the insecurities that grow between them is something I personally liked.
It is a very short read and you can complete in a go. For something light you can definitely pick this up.

𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘: The story is about how a Korean star falls for an Indian girl. While it may seem like a normal story, it is not, because the star status in South Korean culture is pitfull of difficulties. It is not easy to maintain the star status without an ounce of scandal and the public can turn anything into a scandal not to mention that rival agencies are always waiting for such opportunities.
While I have read several web novels, watched korean shows, read news about korean celebrities, I had yet to read about a Korean celeb falling for an Indian girl, or as they call Indo Sonyeo. So I was on the lookout for this book, and finally got to read it.
Now this story is as unique as it gets, in terms of a book. The author has done quite a great job of describing the situation surrounding Jung-Su's dilemma and struggle there upon. I was pleased to notice few catch phrases and korean words that I keep hearing in K-dramas like "fighting". The interactions between the characters were light hearted and felt like I was watching a K-drama.
My final thoughts on the book is that the author could have explored the characteristics of the protagonists more, as I have noticed korean characters to be more multilayered rather than unilateral. Meena could have been developed more since she was also well known in her own country.
Honestly, I would have preferred a more detailed novel, as two cultures are in focus in the book. But I do like this book too as, it represents a sweet and cute story between two individuals in stark contrast to each other.
Side note: Koreans are generally accepting of Indian people, and several koreans are also in relationships with indian persons but they do prefer their celebrities to be flawless. And an interracial relationship hardly falls into such boundaries.
Definitely recommended to all readers.

The story is about a South Korean star Jung Su who is not romantically committed but always on the set, shooting. His friendship with a male friend of his had been splashed in the media as 'gay'. His manager Min-Sik is pushy, ambitious for him and had been trying to set him up on blind dates to remove the gay tag and to get him romantically involved. Sadly he is least interested.

Jung Su used to take the help of a disguise whenever he had to step out in the public. One fine afternoon he decides to have some ramyeon. He puts on his cap and sunglasses and enjoys his meal alone only to be intrigued by a foreigner girl on the next table struggling with chopsticks.

That girl was Meena, from India who did not know him, the superstar. She treated him like a regular man even after he googled his identity and showed that to her. Their encounter was rather funny. He trained her how to eat Ramyeon with chopsticks.

Jung Su was strangely drawn to that brown girl. They crossed paths again but she did not pay heed to him. Part of that irked him, part of that attracted him further to her. But then he resumes his normal life with her in the back of his mind. He also starts a blog which garners humongous pageviews.

He goes for shooting under the famous director Su Woo and that's such an enriching experience of his life. He gets trained in martial arts, has to take reshoots for the fight scenes but everything is so worth it. After 6 months when it gets wrapped, he gets so nostalgic. On the very last day of goodbyes and autographs and gifts, he gets hit by a stranger so bad that he lands up in the hospital.

His sister had been taking care of him but all he could think of was Meena. Later at an award ceremony he comes to know that Meena is a writer from India and he chides himself for not expressing interest in knowing her background. Instead he had just projected himself to be a biggie. That was so narcissistic. So finally he gathers the courage and calls her and invites her for lunch. The place was not too fancy but definitely way better than the old man's ramyeon shop, where they first met.

Does Jung Su actually fall in love with Meena or is it just an infatuation? What would be the future of this international/interracial love story? Is love really blind? Do people accept interracial relationships? How much importance should be given to the fellow Koreans' feelings given that Jung Su's job is highly public?

My Ramyeon girl is a beautiful love story that refuses to follow the traditional rules of the society. Whether you are a romantic or not, this story is bound to touch your heart in many ways.

The life of Film stars whom we admire seems to be very happy, since everyone would love to be on spot light.
We love them & support them, fans even go to extreme extent to show that they like someone who is a star.
Isn't it ironic how we people end up being pain for Actor's personal life & somewhere we make them live only for others in order to maintain the image so that they could get some love from their fans.
Is it so important for people to like or dislike someone based on their personal choices?

"My Ramyeon Girl" is a unique story presenting different culture to it's readers.
The male Protogonist Jung-Su was well known South Korean Artist who falls for Indian girl Meena.
At the beginning I struggled to remember the names of characters since I was unfamiliar about but as I started reading, things and characters were much clearer.
The meeting of both the characters is taken in good & funny way and that itself represents their growing relationship.

I was able to understand the male Lead role completely..
His feelings, the career pressure & the pain everything is potrayed well.
This is brilliant job of an Author to pen down the opposite sex thoughts with such clarity.
Meena seems to be fun loving & innocent but her decision often confuses and questions the things.
Keeping aside the different culture topic, a large audience can relate since irrespective of country, an Actor's life always stands on edge of knife and it is brought out the reality of Film industry, strength of media and Audience.

The language is easy to understand.
The title is very well chosen.
The book cover is Simple yet eye-catchy.
Ending chapters were quite emotional but it was equally inspiring at the same time & I liked New beginning.
Overall a good read.

"Celebrityhood was like a bubble ready to burst at any moment"
We are so keen to know all about celebrities life to judge them for their personal choices to roast them for the characters that didn't do well. We never think for a second how they might feel while handling all this criticism, the abuses towards them, their family.
.
Plot- One afternoon, Lee Jung-Su, a star at the peak of his career meets Meena at a ramyeon shop, and thenceforth things take a turn. He gradually grows to like her but encounters racism first-hand as he falls for the Indian girl. His fans could not digest the fact that he was dating a girl outside of their community and started harassing them online and in real life too. Read to learn how he manages through all this chaos.
.
We don't take a single second to judge others.
We don't take a single second to put hatred online.
The author through this sweet story brings into the world the most important message" don't judge others", let people live their life the way they want to. Be the person a celebrity or a regular working-class person. Be they love anyone from any caste. Be they love a man or woman.
.
A beautiful story with a beautiful message.
Very well written.

My Ramyeon Girl// Nethra A
Kindle

🍲I have always been a fan of Korean movies and dramas and their love for Ramyeon is invertible but I have never read a book with Korean characters in them so it was a fun ride.

🍲Though the book has a simple story of boy and girl. Of a Korean actor Lee Jung-Su, meet Indian girl in Ramyeon shop and teach her how to use chopsticks but in process fall in love with her.

🍲But then This story has highlighted a more serious topic that is racism based on the colour that is since Meena was Indian she was treated differently though their love was pure. Racism based on gender and choices that is our male protagonists was tagged as gay because he has more make friends.

🍲Other then this book was a fun read I felt as if I am watching Korean drama only which proves how well the writer has portrayed the character and narration was a smooth and easy read. The cover and title are my favorite part of the book.

🍲Recommended if you like something different with a twist of love and well definitely give vibes of Korea.

Book name - The Ramyeon Girl
Author - Nethra A

Review -

An amazing story of an Indian girl named Meena and a Korean guy named Lee Jung-Su both meet in a Ramyeon shop and Lee teaches Meena how to eat with chopsticks. Lee was a famous celebrity but she didn't know about it and treated him normally which Lee really liked. Lee was going through some criticism in his work and meeting with Meena changed made him happy. One day Lee met with an accident and was hospitalized but all he can think about is Meena. To know more, read the book as I won’t give any spoilers here.

The language of the book is easy to understand and the cover is very beautifully designed. I chose it because the title seems so different. The writing style of the author is commendable and the plot is very interesting. The theme is captivating and thought provoking. Overall, I loved it and enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend it to everyone.

We often idealize actor, cricketers and other superstars all our life. People in general think, these popular beings are a creature from different planet and feel things differently. But it isn't so. This book is an attempt to highlight humane side of them. How they are also normal living beings and can get attracted to a civilian in the same way as a common person does.

It is a sweet little story between a Korean star and an Indian girl Meena. How they meet, how the love blossoms between them and how the star has to bear outrage and backlash of masses for a mere choice of love.

The tale could have been stretched a bit and I expected more exploration of the two striking cultures and the character of female protagonist should have been researched a bit more. Still a brave attempt in a different genre.

My Ramyeon Girl

by Nethra A

The book is has an enthusiastic demeanor with Korean culture in its highness. The story revolves around the Korean celebrity Lee Jung-Su who accidentally falls in love with the Indian girl Meena and both have them have the eccentricity of adventures all throughout the plot. The book is certainly new not only in ideation and creativity but also in the blend of cultures with easy graphical effects present in the expressions as if one can genuinely feel the reality in imagination. The story is henceforth simple but elegant in approach especially when the criticism is near fetched.

The book is a perfect read for those who wish to get pampered with the soft and comforting read after reading some hardcore thriller. The characterisation is unique yet certain and one can imagine the disguised personality of the protagonist with awe.

A beautiful story which has touched upon the subject of racism which is still prevalent in various parts of the world. I was not even aware about this until I read this book and was deeply shocked to find out that it was true. My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the author who has touched this subject and penned a story revolving around this.

I was struggling initially to cope up with the Korean names. Thankfully, I started remembering it as and when I proceeded with the story. The reason was simple. One of the protagonist is a Korean. He is none other than Lee Jung-Su who was also known as "Crown Prince" in the entertainment industry there. He meets another protagonist - Meena from India who was there for various assignments. Not much was known about her until she opens up to Jung-Su. The meet happens in an unusual place and in an unusual way. The place was called Insadong-Gil, a Rameyon Shop. By looking at the cover picture, you would have understood as to what this shop is all about.

There were other characters like

Min-Sik, Manager,

Min-Ji, Sister

Dae-Ho, Hyun-Ki, In-Su - Friends

Kang - Writer

Yoon-Chul, Jeremy among others.

All was well with Jung-Su until he realizes that he was in love with Meena. What happens after that is something which needs to be read and felt. This is a gripping novel which needs all our attention and support. The creativity of the author is definitely worth the mention.

So, you could very well see that this is not the usual story but a story with a message. When will this be curbed/curtailed entirely? GOD only knows the answer.

My Ramyeon Girl seems like a title derived from dialect. Once I got into the story, I got the hunch about its Korean roots. Anyways, it is a short novel by Nethra and I must congratulate her as she writes really well. The story holds focus on love and its allied society, the novel is perfectly placed in a cross-cultural mess. This time it goes as an Indian girl and a superstar Korean actor. The story is about love that happens between Meena and Jung-Su in South Korea. But things are not what they look…what churns beneath their semblance of love is deep indeed. I loved the book when I got into its invisible second part where intolerance for that girl augments invariably. I liked how fans react to a superstar’s personal life’s concerns and matter. Towards the end, the novel chugs rivetingly and I grew excited to know their fate. I wish I could tell you. It is a different type of romance novel; one must pick and read in leisure.

Unique read.

My Ramyeon Girl by Nethra A, is a story built on a famous celebrity Lee Jung-Su and an Indian girl Meena. Their first meet was cute and sweet because Meena was an Indian, and she didn't know how to hold chopsticks so Jung-su helped her out to hold it and take Ramyeon. As, the minutes passed on he falls in love with Meena. But, she didn't know that he was a celebrity. Here had a great suspense arrived. What was the next? Will Meena come to know that her love was a celebrity? Will they be able to handle the racism?

Till date, I haven't read any Korean books, neither watched any series. So this was unique for me. I enjoyed reading it. There were some words which were completely new. As, there were some points which made the reading part little confusing.

The narrative style was simple and lucid. The plot line was interesting and romantic. The cover and the title matched the storyline. Overall it was an interesting and unique read.

The book has it all humour, romance, stalking, melodrama, starry tantrums, and gossip. Wish it was lengthier and hoping for a sequel.

My Ramyeon girl is a sweet and simple yet unique story revolving around the life of a popular south Korean actor and an Indian girl.
They meet at an eatery in Seoul and their conversation starts with him teaching her to use chopsticks. They keep running into each other and soon they realise their feelings for each. What happens next? Pick the book up to know more!

The writing style was very engaging and simple.
The concept was truly unique and executed well.
The narration was good but it required minor improvements.
The plot was a parallel one and both the Indian and south korean cultures were expressed well in the story.
Since its hardly a 100pg read, its pretty quick and beginner friendly!

Overall, this was a very sweet and a refreshing read. Definitely recommended

MY RATING : 4/5

Overall review - My overall review of the story is that the story is very fresh, unique & relaxing, beginner friendly, the characters building and setting them up with the place is very nicely done, definitely a goodread, a story worth reading  I definitely recommend this book to all .

Stars - 4/5 ⭐

Ending note -  When we go to buy a book first we check the author's name then the content then the price of the book, but if the author is an established one then we don't see so many things, we just buy the book. But when we look at a new author's work then we judge it with these things . In this book the author is a budding one but reader can feel her hard work in the story, the content of this story is very fresh & unique and now the price I have said it earlier this book is a great package at a very very reasonable price.

Lastly I want to thank that person whole heartedly who have recommended me this book .

So stop reading the reviews and start reading the story.

Love blossomed over a bowl of Ramyeon between a boy and a girl; hence, the title is My Ramyeon Girl. The story is simple and so as the narration. However, in my opinion, the USP of this book is the cross-cultural romance between Jung-Su, a South Korean boy and Meena, an Indian girl. Their relationship was challenged by racial lashes from Jung-Su's fans. My Ramyeon Girl is a nice and quick reading and the author wrote the story keeping the young adults in mind. Most of the passages, especially when they began to date each other, would bring a smile to your face. However, I expected the ending to be more carefully executed. When you want to experience a stress-free reading, you can consider this book.

First and foremost, I thank the author for giving me an opportunity to review a romance novella. It has been a long time since I read a <100 page book, and My Ramyeon Girl was like a breath of fresh air.

An beautiful juxtaposition of the Desi with the Korean, My Ramyeon Girl is a very innovative love story. I say "innovative", because the story explores various aspects of South Korea as the dominating cultural hub of Pop music and television dramas today. Moreover, the book throws light on the perils of being a star, the behind-the-scenes of filmmaking, and how fame tends to rust away an individual's personal life.

No. My Ramyeon Girl is not merely a story of love involving two persons who belong to two different races, ethnicities, and cultures. And this is the reason why I enjoyed reading this book so much. The book adopts quite a number of romantic tropes — a celeb-commoner relationship, different cultural backgrounds, and so on. Yet, the beauty of My Ramyeon Girl lies in three important aspects of the novella — theme, structure, and characterisation. The themes dominating the entire fictional landscape includes cinema, popularity, fame, race, identity, sacrifice, determination, and hope. Though the first two acquire the initial few pages of My Ramyeon Girl, the rest prevail till the last page. In fact, I personally felt that the idea of "a new beginning", which the prologue highlights on, springs out from the themes of fame, identity and sacrifice more prominently than the rest. The author handles these themes very subtly and beautifully. Next up is the structure. The fact that My Ramyeon Girl is less than 100 pages long is an eye-opener itself. There is a lot of introspection that occurs throughout the plot, and it allows the readers to get acquainted with the character's self with more proximity. The narrative is linear, the point-of-view being from the third person entity.

However, the language did not meet my expectations. The writing style and vocabulary is really good, but the language and grammatical aspect of it requires some brush-up. That way, My Ramyeon Girl would definitely become a better story.

The characterisation, however, is what impressed me a lot. I am glad the author created the characters unique and imperfect, rather than the usual flat characters with rarely any developments in their respective storylines. The author emphasises on their cultural differences, their varying perspectives towards the world, and how they themselves react to it with such simplicity that it is difficult to not admire the work. My Ramyeon Girl is an inspiring story of being one's own self, and taking the leap of faith. I convey my best wishes to the author for her future endeavours.

My Ramyeon Girl BY Nethra A

Book- My Ramyeon Girl
Author- Nethra A
Type-Fiction
Format- E Book (Kindle)
Rating-5/5

My Ramyeon Girl by Nethra A is a beautiful fiction book. The story is about south Korean star and Indian brown girl met in a restaurant. At the outset, those who find it difficult to pronounce the name of the book, try reading it as “My Maggi Girl”

Without going forward on story part, book leaves few questions for us for deliberation- like
i) how incremental help you can extend to others when you are a super star as compared to when you are common man
ii) How much difference you can make when you are a person with great looks as compared to when you are common brown looking person
iii) How much impact does media/ society makes on you when you are portrayed negatively as compared to when you are portrayed positively

Now, talking about storyline, super star Protagonist, falls in love, with an innocent brown girl. Its not his fault that some media had captured his image as non-straight guy. Well whether Protagonist, whose image is already struggling, will get any relief after restaurant episode or will it multi-fold due to racism? The story is very short, of less than 100 pages and covers good sense of romance.

Takeaways of the book clearly reflects in the storyline. When you get feelings of love for someone, you don’t look for nationality, status, colour or any other attribute which is classified as discriminatory attribute. One of the good thing captured (at least shown one side of coin) was about cultural issues. A person is willing to spend a life with someone else when the other person (when he/she does not know about your culture) tries to adopt to your culture, in contrast to those person who (when he/she is familiar with most of the culture) tries to shift his practices in other moulds.

Things I liked in this book were-
1. Don’t bother about Names of dishes or names of persons or names of restaurants, Language of the book is easy and comfortable.
2. Names, were fascinating.
3. Narration style was concise and good.
4. Characterization was better and stunning through out the book.
5. Pace of the story was fine and forwarded in seamless manner.
6. Emotions portrayed were felt real, innocent and touching.
7. Plot was well developed and executed.
8. Book title was awesome, title was intriguing and length was perfect.

Overall story was a good and interesting reading and I recommend this book for all fiction lovers. A good read indeed.

Name of the book - My Ramyeon Girl
Nethra A.
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars and a hug to whoever needs it.
My take on the book-
Sooo full disclosure, I started reading the book after seeing the cover, I mean look at it, need I say more?
Me, the ever hungry kid whose favorite color is red, started reading this gem with a bowl of instant noodles for company.
It's a very straight forward story, a story that can be anyone or any man's story. We all have people in our lives whom we adore and will have their back no matter what. Also we live in a society where, like a bee hive a lot of people act like drones, in other words follow rules mindlessly. It works like a dream team in the bee hive situation but in the human world, judging people just cause they might not follow a certain straight path or rather the conventional path.
I personally loved reading this one, cays I even after my noodles were finished, I still kept on reading and my heart did a happy little skip and jump at the very end.
*Takes a deep breath*
Am I the only one or can you too smell the cooked noodle in the air?
