Rate this book
Pastor Ryan and First Lady Olivia Cole of Deliverance Baptist Church have the perfect marriage. At least, that’s the way it seems to the people on the outside looking in. Why wouldn’t it be perfect? They have everything a husband and wife can wish for. That is, everything except kids. Olivia Cole is not able to have children, and, because of this, the marriage strains from the pain of her not being able to conceive.
When her best friend, Ava, begins to have problems in her marriage, she goes to Ryan for marriage counseling. After all, he is her pastor. However, as time goes on, Ryan and Ava take the counseling too far, and it slowly turns into an affair. To make matters worse, when Ryan least expects it, Ava becomes pregnant, and she doesn’t know whether the baby is her husband's or her pastor’s?

There is lot more in this part 1st of story, about relationship chaos. Too much betrayals and too much Secrets. Relationships and Friendship Shenanigans accused every single character.

On one hand we have learnt about what not to do, while in relationship no matter what may happen, in our real lives; on other hand such acts and writings are spoiling the society in real. Writing and reading these may seems to fantasize for a time period but actually the impact such books create on the mental status of one self is way too downgrade-able.
I have read the sample of next book in series 'Caught up 2' and found that it is way too ahead of this first one. All friends are sleeping around with each others wives. I don't know what kind of culture Author experienced there at her place but here on this side of world things aren't same. Friends are not meant to be each-others' grave-diggers; they are there to support and worry for each-others' public image as well. And here we had partner swinging works. Pity.

Very much caution must be taken to deliver the right message to society, if the intentions are alike, as very few had understanding of basic logic and down-to-earth common-sense.

But every thing has a positive side, & I would more like to see it through as an eye-opener for young naive couples. Because where one has strings attached other always wanted to take it for granted and left on loose & free end. And then things add-up one-on-one and leads to another place where both stepped on nonreturnable path.

The writing pattern is too simple but interesting. Though easy for me to guess the end but still the an interest has been maintained to get the readers going ahead. In my understanding if one is not aware of what is right & what is wrong; these books always tend to spoil the neutral minds.

Frustrations are everywhere but Ethics must rule our lives. Ethics are something we're lacking on in our surroundings. And still we're feeding these. The Books are meant to be the windows to the freshness of mind and its relaxation, but these windows are thick with grime of unethical psychology. Serving dark-fiction or erotica has many ways but when we blend it with our daily lives which we shouldn't, it becomes most dangerous cake to eat. So whether it has to be direct or not but this middle way is hanging us on the horizon of nowhere and stress so high.

For me it deserves 2.0/5.0

A book about infidelity. It should be interesting I thought, and I really wanted to love this part of the book, but something went wrong for me. I was so angry for the most part reading it. Like, come on, you are adults - behave accordingly :)

First of all, as a married woman myself, I thought this book would shed a little light on how people become unfaithful to their partners. However, this part comes and goes really quickly - Ryan and Ava both have problems in their marriages, and just here it goes. it's like they did not try any other ways to solve their problems, rather than becoming lovers (at least, in this part). Also, they both know it's wrong and don't even try to do anything about it.

What was even sadder to me is that Ava is Olivia's BEST friend. I just cannot understand that! how can you hurt your best friend like that? You should not even look in her husband's direction. I mean that's what BEST friends are supposed to do. Be loyal and not steal your partner (like Ryan's friend said).

Also, in this first part of the story, I did not get any characters' descriptions/ personalities, like who they are, what they are like, any background story on Ava and Olivia's friendship (hope to see this in the next part). And the writing was really brisk for me - one short paragraph on something, then another one on the next topic, and there is no detailed descriptions/dialogues (except for maybe the conversation between Ryan and his friend).

All in all, despite everything I've just said, I'm really looking forward to reading the 2 and 3 parts of the story. And I hope I will get a chance to know more about every character and how they got into this mess :)

Thank you for the opportunity to read this part and can't wait to read ahead.

ONE HEART POUNDING AVALANCHE!!!
Soul searing! Pamela pegged this baby from the get go, exhibiting every sentiment and nuance, presenting this heartfelt and emotional whirlwind, laying out one skillfully composed work of art, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Coiled, knotted and tightly woven, displaying the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's simplicity and awe-inspiring in it's depth. A tumultuous wild ride of taxing trials and arduous tribulations, exposing the shocking twists and wicked turns, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they've never envisioned. Crushing the boundaries and stretching the limits, displaying the strengths and weaknesses being weighed and balanced, propelling this jewel on-ward without a hitch, slamming it into overdrive, launching it into a tailspin with a eye-opening realization. Shenanigans, escapades and mayhem rule the roost displaying the drama, anxiety, intrigue, turmoil, secrets, deception, mounting suspense and intense situations along with a boatload of chaos, you have one mind-blowing masterpiece. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow smoothly, transforming into genuinely charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Amazing job Pamela, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

Messy

These people were messy, and I was invested. The only one I feel sympathy for is Olivia. Ava is a mess and gets no sympathy from me. Can't wait for part 2

Good Read, Bad Situation

Read this book due to a free book recommendation in an online book club. I was surprised how quickly it captured my attention. Ryan, Olivia, Ava & Sam are unknowingly having unexpected affairs with their friends' spouses. A mess & heartbreak waiting to happen. Throw in that one of them is a Pastor & his wife and you already know it's about to hit the fan. On to part 2.
