I liked this issue much more than the previous one. The corpse of a dead god greets the group after they make it through the gate. Things are very different in this place. Sonata and Pau both start developing powers that are associated with the gods. As they meet up with a Lumani group that seems “more civilized” than the Lumani from home, things start to go south. Pau and Sonata need to flee after Pau kills one of the Lumani. Since Treen promised that they wouldn’t cause problems, he needs to sacrifice his life for his broken promise. Pau turns into more of a racist jerk, and he goes to follow the voice of the ancient gods while Sonata decides to help Treen. She finds his body and leaves after mysteriously saying that death is not the end.
I hope there’s a decent explanation for why Pau is a jerk now. He made so much progress! I am excited to see more of the gods, and hopefully, Sonata can save Treen!
