Sheriff Chrissy Darling There’s a new sheriff in town. Okay, yeah. It’s me. I never intended to become the chief law enforcement officer for the small town of Newberry, but here I am with a badge and a job. I also have a few deputies and some small-town troubles, but nothing I can’t handle. At least that was the case until a tall, handsome, be-suited man shows up and things begin to fall apart. Stolen chickens, broken glass, and retired mercenaries are just a few of the problems Declan Smith’s brought with him. But the biggest problem of all? My attraction to him, the man who’s the number one suspect in all the strange goings-on in my town.
Declan Smith I’ve come to Newberry to do my job, and I’m damn good at it. Disrupting governments and multi-billion dollar corporations have long been my specialty, but I decided to take a job in a tiny town for a little slice of the quiet life. I assumed the local sheriff wouldn’t care for me, but when I get a look at Chrissy Darling, I realize that taking this small job will have huge consequences. Not only is she on my case, but she’s also on my mind. Constantly. But when she realizes I’m the root of all her town’s troubles, will she send me packing or cuff me to her for life?
I didn't know anyone can become a Sheriff in America, but on the other hand - anything is possible in America.
Well, I find the story about the disruptor and newly selected Sheriff Darling interesting, however... This was my least favourite couple written by MINK. I just didn't feel the chemistry they were supposedly felt for each other. And the heroine? Sometimes sweet, sometimes naive, sometimes innocent, sometimes kick-ass - all like she has different personalities within her.
Why am I so harsh? -you might ask.
The answer is simple - I always admired MINK's writing so with each read I am kind of expecting too much of her. I just want to be wowed the same as with the first novella she's written.
Another read that’ll have you in fits of laughter. Mink knows how to bring the banter between characters to life, along with superb secondary characters who have me wanting to know their story also she delivers a super cute, fun story that borders on over the top but also kind of believable.
The steam factor is a given. Deliciously sexy and off the charts. She proves again why she’s a one click for me.
This one was okayish for me.. idk i couldnt connect with this book.
Chrissy and her best friend are now Sheriff and deputy!! And thats when all the crazy shit starts happening. Neighbor against neighbor, chickens are being stolen couple other crazy things going around town that has Chrissy trying to keep the town undercontrol. Then suspect nunber one is Declan hes new in town and well hes always near when these things happen. Like isnt that a RED flag? Come on Chrissy you are a horrble cop lol. As for Declan he's on a job to make Chrissy job hell as a cop thanks to the person paying him. Tech he doesnt stop until he hurts her (THE HEART!!!) and him being fired from the family trying to ruin Chrissy.. so yeah thats my problem took him awhile to come clean when he kept saying he was falling more for her.
No ow/om drama, No cheating, Slight secondary charas, Drama, sexy times, idk if h was Virgin? Was kinda uncleared and no manwhore
Recommend- ehh Cover-⭐⭐⭐
Instalove/lust Violence No condom Safe-ish Hea Epilogue
There's something about a weird book being so unnecessarily over the top that makes it enjoyable-
I definitely liked parts of this story but for the majority of the book, it was a case of too much side characters and plot, and not enough main characters and romance- especially for this type of novella, for me at least.
The number of times the MCs got interrupted by the h's best friend was just wrong 💀, considering the short length of the story. I was on my last straw with that girl- don't get me wrong I love a good side character, but she did not know the definition of personal space and I've had enough 🤩.
Stop and the heroine: I get wanting to have a naive/ innocent character, but please, at least give this poor girl some form of common sense? Babes thought Scurvy was an STD 🧍♀️🙃. I can't-
But I mean, I did enjoy the absurdity of it at times, even though it did sort of get on my nerves 😭. I started for the quick romance, but stayed because I was genuinely curious about where the story would go 💀. It was fun while it lasted.
Well, the dressing down Chrissy gives Declan when she realizes who really is, made my heart hurt. Twists and turns and great secondary characters. The epilogues are wonderful!
Absolutely hilarious and sweet. Deputy Glenlivet 🐱 is the toughest deputy around besides Claire and her gunslinging. Sheriff Darling and Declan are a great pair but I have to say the whole town made the story what it was because dang. Do they have some past stories that would make a thanksgiving dinner wild.
This book has all the smutty goodness with suspense and comedy mixed in. Sheriff darling is the new deputy Declan Smith was hired to disrupt the town. What happens when their attraction gets in the way?
I really enjoyed this, but only for the heroine and her best friend. For me, the romance took a back seat in this one and the Hero seemed extremely vague aside from his profession and his role in the story.
Declan came to the small town to cause havoc there. And the new Sheriff, Chrissy Darling was chosen to be the Sheriff of their small town by default. She gave the Deputy position to her bestfriend, Claire. There was also a cat who apparently got the Deputy title. Then Darling took Declan for investigating and told him to leave the town. But he didn't and he protected her and her grandma from the Harper guy who wanted to be the town Sheriff. Then Claire, Declan and the cat went all badass on the Harper family. Again Darling was all bark but no action. Declan and Darling made up; got married; had children. Blah! Blah! Blah!
Darling was plain and utterly dumb and stupid. I liked Claire more. She should be the main female character. I didn't find any passion between Darling and Declan. Or maybe I was pissed at that dumb idiotic stupid Sheriff who couldn't care less that people were suffering from Declan's stupid distractions or whatever that was.
"No. I’m not pissed. I’m hurt. My insides ache, and I think he’s the reason. He’s messing with my head. I was too busy thinking about him when I pulled up to Ms. Walkey’s. My head wasn't where it should have been. It should be focused on this town. The one I grew up in. Not on some man who’s here to play games with me."
Glad that she realized that. Ugh! This book could be such a nice hot and steamy romance as it had so much potential. But no. It was just meh! This is the second book of Mink I didn't like. Don't worry. I still didn't learn my lesson. I'm still gonna read Mink's books.
Plot: Chrissy has accidentally become sheriff of her small town, but now that she has the job, she intends to do it right. Then Declan shows up and all sorts of strange, disruptive, and destructive things start happening in town. She knows he's behind the recent trouble, but she can't prove it. He seems to have ulterior motives, though, and she'll expose him if it's the last thing she does. Declan knows that he has a job to do, but the more his actions frustrate Chrissy, the more he finds himself unsure about his next step.
Commentary: A little different because the law enforcement character is the heroine this time. If you've ever followed the ridiculousness of small local politics, a completely unqualified person falling into the role of sheriff is not so far from believability. At any rate, I enjoyed this story - it was fun! The one thing I didn't like about it was that I thought it took Declan too long to give up his job and start protecting Chrissy. He kept at the job way too long, especially given that it was hurting her. But this was a Mink story, full of shenanigans with a sweet innocent heroine and a hero who (eventually) took what he wanted.
Man, Mink cracks me up. I can always depend on a slightly crazy, chaotic, yet wonderfully charming and deliciously steamy story from her and this one was no different.
Both MCs were unique, although I was particularly drawn to the way she depicted the hero, with his almost-autistic fascination for detail to be quite endearing.
And the heroines bestie, Claire, had me snort laughing more than once. I really really truly hope she gets her own story. I loved how bloodthirsty she was.
But the heroine was also lovable, trying to corral her best friend, a rather grizzled police cat and figure out what was going on in her sleepy little town that suddenly erupting with all sorts of mayhem. And I found it heartwarming and swoon-worthy when the hero leapt into action to protect his woman. That always earns a happy sigh from me.
There was no cheating. The hero is described as not having too much experience with women, so that’s an extra yum and of course, super yum, a heroine who hasn’t spread her legs for losers, but belongs only to the hero. Epically good!
Heroine was a little to naive for this job, her friend tho, now she was actually funny and i was surprised i liked her, most of the h’s friends in these romances are just annoying but she wasn’t. At times i wanted her to be the main character. She also made much more sense to be the sheriff, our h was way to soft to be a sheriff, didn’t even want to own/use a gun…. LMAO okay. The main couple was what made this a dnf, the hero took to long to come around and didn’t grovel enough, heroine (like always) forgives them and doesn’t ever seem to care, i felt like she was used and manipulated way to much.
v heroine slightly annoying hero disappointing hero nice side characters no ow/om drama (as far as i read) dnf disappointing couple
A newly appointed Sheriff that doesn't carry a gun and a Disruptor. A deputy that wants to shoot everyone, another deputy that looks almost dead but yet the cutest thing and Pistol packing granny's. This book is hilarious and sweet all at the same time. I read an advanced copy of this book.
For laughs, sweet love, and a small town riddled with trouble, this novella is perfect. I laughed a few times and just plain adored every page.
Two friends end up being sheriff and deputy in a small town just in time for an unprecendented mayhem to erupt all over it. The cause? An expert on disruption capable of stealing chickens or pushing neighbours against each other for secret, mercenary reasons. And the hilarious plot ensues.
It is so funny and sweet too. Because Declan feels guilty as he falls in love with the valiant sheriff. Chrissy is loyal to the town, tries to do a good job to protect her community. She and her crazy friend have this over-the-top, childish banter going on that kept me happy and entertained. I felt like having popcorn while watching these two on cop mode around their quaint town, keeping order, flaunting their gold stars, and playing adults with a good cop/easy trigger cop vibe. And let's not forget the deadly feline or the insanely hot bad guy who loves his lady sheriff over job, life or freedom.
The characters in town are lively, the plot never stops, and it's worth the wait till the bedroom fireworks happen because they are cute and sensual. Bad guys pay in style in the funny ending and the epilogues are full of mischief. Just the way I like it. Addictive.
Cuffed Love was a fun and sexy read that I desperately needed! I loved the quirky characters who never failed to make me smile and left me in helpless giggles from time to time. The dangerously delicious pull between the main characters had me rooting for them from the first page. They both deserved so much more then they had, and I so wanted to see them get what they both needed and wanted. I was on pins and needles to see how things worked out, and I was not disappointed in the least. This story is just as fun and incredible as all of Mink's previous stories!! I couldn't put it down for anything as I was completely enthralled and sucked into from the very start.
This book is everything that I love about Mink's masterful writing! Her stories are based on real life and yet she acknowledges that something a little off kilter won't hurt us but lift us up and show us that it's OK to dream. I love that she encourages us to go beyond our small world and into the bright and beautiful land of imagination and creativity. After all, sometimes real life is stranger then fiction. I hope she never stops writing and creating many and unique worlds for those of us who need to breath and live outside of ourselves.
First things first; I love the cover of this book! This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline entertaining. I liked this story but not as much as the previous stories by this author. Chrissy is the new appointed sheriff of her small town. When a stranger appears in town trouble starts happening. Will Chrissy get to the bottom of it? I did see some chemistry between Declan and Chrissy but I would have liked a little more. I loved Chrissy’s friendship with her best friend; I hope she gets her story told. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
Chrissy Darling becomes sheriff of her small, quiet town by default just as handsome stranger Declan arrives. Almost coincidentally, her small town is overrun with stolen chickens, broken windows and other out of the ordinary occurrences. Chrissy has to figure out why she is so attracted to the probable culprit of these events and how to be an sheriff! MINK's writing has a very unique voice in her writing. Her character's internal monologues feel very real even when dealing with the crazy situations she puts them in! I can count on cracking up while reading a MINK book and Cuffed Love is no exception. I recommend this read to new and current readers of MINK! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 out of 5 • Safe • Double virgins • No om/ow drama • 2 epilogues
I personally didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the other Mink books. The MMC Declan comes off as way too creepy. And he is fine messing up the Sheriff's life and being a despicable human around town, until it's like a switch is flipped in his brain that tells him he loves the Sheriff and has to put her first all of a sudden. It's the most extreme case of instalove I've ever read. And the Sheriff is not much better. She was also an unlikable character for me. She was naive-to-the-point-of-being-annoying, and she was not very good at her job...for some reason, she trusts the random new guy in town, even when she knows he's probably the one behind all of the recent crimes. SMH... I just couldn't get into it.

This was kind of all over the place and silly. Chrissy and Declan were instantly attracted to each other when they meet. Chrissy is suspicious of him as he is an outsider.
The fact that Chrissy is the town Sheriff is basically a joke. She let her best friend convince her to run against the town jerk. She doesn't even carry a gun and then her best friend is inserted as deputy.
This book fails in its attempts to mimic a Stephanie Plum like environment. Claire was not funny and Declan seemed like a jerk.
I took 2 weeks to read a book that should take about 1-2 hours to finish.
The heat level was 🔥🔥, glad this was on KU and I didn't spend any money to own it.
I really liked this story. It was funny, enjoyable, and interesting. The characters were entertaining and likable for the most part. The Harper’s were lame jerks. Claire cracked me up with her antics. She needs a story of her own. Chrissy was elected Sheriff and talked Claire into being the deputy. Declan was in town to take care of some business. When Chrissy and Declan met there was some attraction but his arrival was a bit suspicious (according to Claire!). There was some drama and angst but it resolved well. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.
This was sweet! Chrissy and Claire are besties and when Chrissy is elected as Sheriff for their teeny tiny town, she asks her best friend to be her deputy. That day, chaotic and disruptive things start happening and Chrissy has got to stop it, all while keeping Claire's trigger finger calm and keeping her eye on the new hunk in town who claims he his there for r&r.
No one comes to this small town just to relax, somethings fishy. and Chrissy is on the case!
It doesn't hurt that the new guy is hot for Chrissy.
This book is beyond hilarious and has some very interesting characters. There's Chrissy Darling, the new sheriff, her sassy deputy Claire, her other deputy on four paws, Glen and then there's Declan, the disruptor. Declan has come to town to cause some distractions to get Chrissy to quit her job as sheriff. That is until he gets a look at her and all he wants to do is get to know her better. This is a fun, sexy read and I highly recommend it!
This book was absolutely bonkers and I loved every minute of it! Declan and Chrissy are freaking adorable and Claire’s sassy brand or crazy was hilarious. Throw in some badass grannies and a deputy cat who doesn’t take anyone’s crap and this book was pure magic. I really hope we get Claire’s story next because that one will be soo much fun!! I received this book as an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Once again, another fun and loving book from MINK. I can’t get enough of her stories!!! Now we’ve got a new hometown sheriff, Chrissy, and her bestie Claire as her deputy. They’re trying to find out who’s causing the problems around town, and think it might be the handsome stranger Declan. He’s not only disrupting the town, he’s disrupting the sheriff, who in turn is totally disrupting him lol. It’s filled with laughs and love. Just couldn’t put it down!!
Such a sweet story. Chrissy is the new Sheriff in town thanks to her best friend. Declan has bee n hired to cause chaos in town. When these two meets it is instant attraction. But when Chrissy starts to look toward the new comer Delcan for all the things that are going wrong in town sparks starts to also fly. Declan can't do anymore chaos what he has already done has hurt Chrissy when he get fired all bets are off now he will do what ever it takes to get the new Sheriff
