Rate this book
Short on time? Or, maybe, you’ve already read or listened to the book but need a refresh on the most important takeaways. In a quick, easy listen, you can take the main principles from The Power of Teachings of Authenticity, Connection, and Courage.

Brené Brown’s 20-minute TED talk, “The Power of Vulnerability” is one of the most watched TED talks of all time with more than 40 million views. In this audiobook (not available as a book), she explores the idea more fully in a series of six one-hour talks. Brown explains how her research taught her the techniques we can all use to deepen and enrich the ways we live our lives and love other people.

The goal, she says, is to live “wholeheartedly” and the key is to increase our capacity for vulnerability by breaking through all the barriers we put up against it. She keeps her live audience entertained and engaged with her wisdom about the struggles we all face, her understanding of what is essential, and her funny, personal stories.

I admit that I've been resistant to listening to Brene Brown. I think maybe because it seems like such a social movement, and I don't want to be like everyone else. I was afraid that it would be like the color labeling that people do. I believe that vulnerability is important. I think i need to spend some time identifying my emotional feelings about this because I'm not really sure why I didn't want to listen... Maybe it's because it started as TED talks and those seem like plots to pull at your heart strings, and I really am more scientific. That's why I decided to try this summary. Well, I like it and I'm going to listen to the full book.
