Days 357 to 364 is the 12th book of the Mass Extinction Event series written by Amy Cross and should not be read unless you have read the other books in the series. It is not a stand-alone story. In this novel Thomas and Martha have been “kidnapped” by a bushwhacking gang that seeks people that seem healthy enough to contribute to the rebuilding of Philadelphia. However, there is a war coming against the Project Atherius facility on the outskirts of the city. It is believed that the Project Atherius facility holds food, and other resource necessities that are being withheld from the larger population for the benefit of a few. In the meantime, Elizabeth finds herself inside the Project Atherius facility, shocked to find out some secrets in play from the beginning of the series. As the climax nears, the plans of the elites become clearer, the battle lines are measured and drawn, and the question is finally asked: Are Thomas and Elizabeth on opposite sides of the line?
A fast-paced read where Elizabeth and Thomas tell their story about the plague, zombie apocalypse and a secret project that's hidden beneath it all.
It is the writing that is fast-paced rather than the story so that it sweeps you along into the disturbing depths of survival and horror. There are typos but it's still a good read.
The project is reaching its culmination as Elizabeth, her father and Rachel are all reunited. Thomas and Martha are sucked into the chaos and the purpose of Project Atherius is revealed.
