Kylie Reed vowed she’d never pick up a man in a bar. It’s one of her personal rules, after all. So falling into a gorgeous ginger’s lap, tossing a glass of wine on him, and then hoping he asks for her number while in a bar would be a trifecta of wrong, right? Organized, rule-loving, and cautious to a fault, Kylie Reed is waiting for the perfect moment to live her dreams—when she has a house, when she meets her husband, when she has been at her visual display job at a chic boutique a little while longer. All of her dreams are saved for later—as that seems to be a safer place than taking a risk to actually live them. Yet Kylie finds all her rules bending when she falls into the lap of gorgeous Harrison Flynn, captain of the Dallas Demons hockey team. Harrison harbors his own fears for the future, ones he keeps close to the vest. He’s intrigued with the brown-eyed beauty who proceeds with caution, while she’s drawn to the sexy man who pushes boundaries and functions in chaos. The phrase opposites attract has never been truer as the chemistry between them is anything but polar from the second they meet… While the attraction is hot, is that enough to make a relationship work? Can they face their fears for a future they both want? Will this relationship end before puck drop? Or will they find home ice together? If you like swoony heroes, hilarious heroines, and a couple you can cheer for, you’ll want to escape into Home Ice. Can be read as a standalone and a happily ever after is guaranteed.

I loved it! I loved how Kylie and Harrison met. Harrison is amazing! He’s so much more than the talented hockey player everybody knows. He’s smart, sweet, kind and determined. Harrison wanted to know Kylie better, because he loved the first conversation they had. He will fight for Kylie, because she’s worth it. He only has eyes for Kylie. Kylie is sweet, caring and kind. She’s very passionate about cloths and she loves making them. She’s a little insecure, but Harrison always comforts her. Being famous isn’t always easy, but their love is so strong. Kylie and Harrison have insecurities and that caused a few problems sometimes, but it was always solved pretty fast.

Initial Thoughts
This was good! I liked both Kylie and Harrison a lot. We don't see Harrison actually playing hockey in this story but we see what it is like to live with his stardom. Kylie meets Harrison by literally falling into his lap and they end up talking without her having any idea who he is. I thought that they worked well as a couple and liked the chemistry that they shared. I listened to the audiobook and thought that the narrator did a good job with the story.

Review
Damn how I love Aven Ellis – I was able to get close to this sweetheart of an author after reading her book “Connectivity” ---- first I have to say how much I loved the references to that in this book!

This book was ADORABLE – CUTE and so freaking enjoyable!! I loved how Kylie stuck to her guns about meeting a Prince Harry “look alike” Their whirlwind romance was to die for….how fast their relationship came to fruition from “friends” to lovers to soul-mates was a dream come true.

Ms. Ellis has the ability to transform a simple story into a fairytale of wonders and beauty.  This is what I got out of “Waiting for Prince Harry” – this was every girls fairytale growing up…meeting her handsome prince who sweeps her off her feet to wine and dine her and is just perfect in every way imaginable!  *swoon

There’s just a few little problems that Kylie has to overcome though….she must stand up for herself and stop running from confrontation…..and she must learn to deal with Harry’s career and the public light it puts her smack dab in the middle of.

Final notes – give me anything from Ms. Ellis to read and I’m in heaven!! A nice break of happiness after reading so much angst and horror. *hugs

Even the conflicts were sweet

It’s a cool execution of the trope though lol

DNF @ 50%

I was really excited to read this one. I'd read a tonne of reviews and the synopsis had made me interested. Who doesn't love a book with a hockey player and causal mentions of Prince Harry and the royal family? This Australian girl sure loves them. The pop quizzes at the beginning of the chapters, were charming to some extent but I eventually stopped reading them from the sheer immaturity.

But, honestly? This book was hilarious. Not in the way you're thinking though. The dialogue was immature and formal most of the time. I found myself amazed at how basically everyone in Kylie's life was a bitch, excluding her roommate who was introduced once by 50%. Kylie is a 24 year old who basically puts clothes on mannequins. Well, that's what I got. She likes to sew aprons too and her roommate/best friend is a chef.

It was just laughable at how the characters had absolutely no chemistry. I swear Kylie kept talking about how Harrison would be an amazing therapist and I would gag. I really tried to like this book, and I wanted to finish it in just the hopes it would get better. This was definitely not for me, and it seems I'm a black sheep among the gleaming reviews I read.

I honestly should have put this book down when Kylie was bitching about her brothers wedding, and how everyone kept saying she had a Pippa Middleton ass. This one gets a 1/5 stars from me, just from the utter hilarity of it all. True potential, but fell incredibly short in the execution in my opinion. Gosh, I hate to give an author a bad review after they put so much hard work into the novel, but this was definitely not for me.

I don’t even know where to begin, cause I have so many thoughts in my head and I feel like there are not enough words to describe how I feel about this amazing story.

Let’s start with this gorgeous cover, I absolutely adore it. The flag on top melting into the skyline of Dallas, the hockey player, the girl, the colours... WOW ♥

The first few words and I was already deep into this story and loving it. Kylie is such a charismatic and lovely character. She reminded me of myself in some ways and that made it so easy to relate to her.
Her biggest dream is to become a fashion designer and she works for a store called Boutique Dallas in Highland Park doing their visual displays.

The story is set in Dallas, I really liked reading about this city, I think I have to go there and visit now.

At her brother’s wedding she is really bored and goes to the hotel bar and there she accidentally falls into Harrison Flynn’s lap. I so loved this moment and the way the two of them got to know each other is just so sweet.

Harrison Flynn is a famous hockey player of the Dallas Demons and me as a huge hockey fan was so happy that sport was included in this novel. Harrison is gorgeous and sexy with his green eyes and ginger hair. The connection between him and Kylie was there the first second and I couldn’t wait for their story to continue.

It’s so great how he finds her again and just stands in front of her when she’s working. Aven described all their scenes in such detail and with so much heart. It was funny, flirty and really refreshing.
The way their relationship develops after that is so adorable, with some unexpected situations which made me never want to leave the story again. I was shocked at one time and then relieved again, let’s say I went through a big range of emotions and was so hooked! I couldn’t put the book down.

Harrison is the perfect man, oh my… He’s so attentive, caring, passionate, sexy, gorgeous, clever, and intelligent… Can I have him please?! ;)

I loved reading about their dates. All their scenes were so adorable, cute and sexy. They are the perfect match and that really comes across all the time. The way they treat each other and want to be there for each other all the time, so cute.
It’s great to read about her feelings developing for Harrison and realising that he might be it.

Life isn’t perfect though and they soon have to deal with her family, the decisions they made in the past and most of all his life in the tabloids. He wants to protect her from this, which made me love him even more. The question was whether Kylie was really ok with the media and her sudden stamp of being his girlfriend in the press.

Aven has a real gift to make a story feel so real, authentic and vivid. To say it in Harrison’s words: This novel is WICKED!!! I felt like being part of this wonderful story and seeing it as a movie in my head. Isn’t that what reading is all about?

Both characters still have to learn things about life and it’s great how they help each other see that light. The road to get there is rocky, but eventually they find it. Both Kylie and Harrison are so passionate for both their dreams to come true and they fight for it together.
There is still enough drama to make this story even more gripping, fascinating and absorbing.

This novel shows that you can do anything in life, believe in your dreams and make them happen.

Every single scene was unique and special, described in detail and with so much heart and emotion.
There is also a lot of flirting involved, which made this story so bubbly, sexy and passionate.

The epilogue is so charming, I need more Kylie and Harrison, please!!!

Each chapter started with a pop quiz question describing the content of the chapter. That’s such a great idea :)

Brilliant job Aven! This novel is amazing! You’re writing is perfect ♥ This story is an awesome summer read, you’re in for a real treat!

MARVELLOUS, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE; REMARKABLE, TOUCHING, BRILLIANT, BRIGHT, FRESH, INTENSE and last but not least

WICKED , to say it in Harrison’s words. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

MY REVIEW

Kylie is 24 years old girl who always follows the rules. She made plans for her future but never considered to make it come true in the present because of the fears of failure or rejection. She also obsesses to finding her own Prince Harry. Until she accidentally falls into the lap of a gorgeous ginger boy—yes, even more gorgeous than the real Prince Harry, and everything changed after that. Who is this gorgeous "Prince Harry"? And how he made Kylie's world upside down?

I’ve always wanted to read this book for so long but haven’t had a chance to read it until the author offered a complimentary copy to read and review it. Why didn’t I read this book sooner?! This book was really good!

The topic of this book was simple, light and really easy to get into. And it was so to the point –focus and straight to the main topic of this book. This was really good because I don’t like a book that leads the reader to unnecessary events before getting into the main topic good

Usually I don’t really like insta-love stories but this one is different. They fall for each other not because of superficial reasons –the outward appearance, but because of who they really are. And they really complete each other ハート

The characters were awesome. I loved Harrison so much. He was so sweet, understanding and so supportive. And of course, he was a real gentleman メロメロ
I instantly liked Kylie from the start. She was a great heroine. Not bitchy or annoying. Although sometimes it really pissed me off when she couldn’t stand up for herself when people around her ‘bullied’ her えー

I have a thing for the Royal Family too. That’s why I totally understand Kylie’s obsession for Prince Harry. Because sometimes I’m also trying to find my own Prince Harry. LOL

Just when I thought this book was going to be bad, it turned out to be so good! きらきら
I really adored the story and the writing style. I like the Pop Quiz questions in each chapter too. It was cute and funny. I even tried to answer them. LOL

And the most important thing is, this book has no big, stupid, drama. The problems solved right away so you didn’t have to roll your eyes because of unnecessary dramas

Overall this book was really good. I really really enjoyed this. You guys should read this book too!

Oh this book. I want to hold this book tight and never let it go because I loved it that much. It was JUST the book I needed at the time I read it and I could NOT wipe the silly grin off my face! Or get rid of the butterflies in my stomach it was THAT swoonalicious! I read Aven's Connectivity last year and really enjoyed it. She has such a fun writing style that you can't help but fall in love with the characters and their voice! Waiting For Prince Harry is no exception! I adored the characters, the storyline, and most of all I loved the uniqueness it offered!

Hands down, I LOVED that Aven started every chapter off with one of those personality/romance type quizzes you'd see in Cosmo or Seventeen. She tailored them to fit Kylie's personality and I just laughed reading the answer choices! Such a great way to open up the chapters! It also gave you a little insight into how Kylie was feeling toward her job, her relationship with Harrison, etc.

Kylie was such a great heroine. I loved that she was quirky and a little awkward, because hello? I can totally relate! I also enjoyed seeing her grow throughout the novel. In the beginning, she's a bit timid and lets people walk all over her, but by the end she finds her backbone and starts making choices that are best for HER and I really enjoyed seeing that. Harrison had a lot to do with that as well, as he is really encouraging of her, but ultimately she's the one who put one foot in front of the other so to speak.

Oh, Harrison. One of my new favorite book boyfriends. He's the perfect blend of sexy and sweet and I fell for him hook, line, and sinker. He is also a little awkward at times and I loved that he wasn't this cocky athlete. There were quite a few moments I wanted to smack him upside his sexy ginger head for some of his actions, but overall, he's quite loveable. And man does he treat Kylie like a princess.

I have to say that I really like that Aven upped the steam in this book. The sexual tension between Harrison and Kylie was off the charts and I loved that we got to see a bit more in that department than we did in her previous novel. (HOLY POOL TABLE SCENE!) I won't even lie- Kylie and Harrison have a relationship that I envision myself hopefully having someday. They balance each other out so well and I love that they believe in one another and will fight for each other as well. Being a professional athlete is not easy and I like that Aven delved a bit deeper into the world of a celebrity because Lord knows it's not all sunshine and roses. She has created a realistic couple with real issues to face, but does so in an empowering way.

Do you need a fun, sweet read that will have you smiling from start to finish?

Do you need a sweet, but sexy romance with relatively low angst?

Do you need to find out what this infamous pool table scene I've referred to is?

If the answer is yes to all of these questions, then go one click. I promise- you will be glad you did.

Are you waiting for a contemporary adult fiction that will make your heart swell up with feel good feels? Then I have just the book for you!

First Line of Waiting for Prince Harry

“The Pop Quiz Question : You are at a crowded bar. “

My thoughts on Waiting for Prince Harry:

This book just made me smile and smile and then smile some more. It started off on a fun vibe with a pop quiz question. Who doesn’t love these! I can never resist quizzes like this; hence my addiction to buzzfeed. So seeing the quizzes at the start of every chapter became something I looked forward. First as a hint to what was happening plot wise but also to answer just for myself and then to torment my husband with to see what he would say!

Kylie Reed is a character I can really identify with. She is Type A organised (well I don’t identify so much with that bit, I spend too much time reading to be that organised about anything!). However she is also introverted, happy mooching around at home doing her own thing, quirky and very easy to like. All those things I get. And Harrison isn’t too hard on your bookish eyes either. This well dressed, ginger haired, hockey player made a great first impression on me and from them on, I was a fan.

The chemistry between the two of them is both sweet and sexy. I do think maybe it was all a little bit too fast, too soon but when a couple are as adorable as this, I can make allowances. I loved that there was no crazy drama going on in the story and they didn’t go off on crossed wires about stupid things. They actually showed maturity and talked their problems out. Finally, I have been waiting for a book couple like this.

One of my favourite things was the atmosphere of the book. All the descriptions were so detailed; from the clothes they wore to the descriptions of the settings to the scents in the air, I just felt immersed in the book from head to toe. I got excited every time I opened up Waiting for Prince Harry as I knew I would get a comfort read that would give me warm fuzzies. Lots of warm fuzzies. Hence all those smiles I mentioned at the start.

Overall I loved the characters, the setting is a feast for the senses and the romance is one you have to cheer for. And when you add in the sense of humour that is littered throughout every chapter, then this is a fool proof formula for an entertaining, feel-good book.

Who should read Waiting for Prince Harry?

A. If you are looking for a fun adult (but not explicit) read
B. If you want a heart-warming romance
C. You like great characters,
D. You want all the above

Then this one is for YOU! Highly recommended.

Thanks to Aven for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Aven Ellis has pulled off a Hat Trick with this one, three books, three breathtaking hits! Three five-star scores, and the crowd goes wild, lights flash, the organ plays, the team huddles, smacking helmets, wait that’s hockey.
When the consummate rule follower dares to step outside of the carefully drawn box she has built for her future, to live in the present, if only for one evening, she discovers that picking a man up in a bar can be a life changing event. Kylie is stuck in neutral, everything she dreams of doing, becoming is all “in the future,” but is that a shield to hide behind, one that allows her to never take a chance and *gasp* fail or walk into the unknown?
Harrison was enjoying a quiet drink alone, people watching and enjoying the anonymity he rarely finds, as one of hockey’s best players. Suddenly he becomes the landing point for a beautiful woman and her drink. What he discovers is someone who has no clue who he is and likes him for himself, his brain and his conversation. But, this was a onetime deal, no names are exchanged, end of story. Or is it?

Can Harrison teach Kylie to live in the present, to make her dreams come true and stand up for herself instead of being a living doormat? Will Kylie realize that Harrison is the Prince she has been waiting for or will the pressures of being under the public microscope be too much for her ordered world? How much can love take before it‘s crushed and what would it take to repair it? Will Kylie lose the man of her dreams?

Waiting for Prince Harry by Aven Ellis is sweet, powerful, yet light enough to make you chuckle as each page melts into the next. Both main characters have that quality that gives them life and makes them someone you wish you knew. Aven Ellis goes the distance, start to finish with a tale of love and its little quirks in her own distinctive style, and what a style it is!

I’m pretty sure it’s a legit law of physics that you can’t read an Aven Ellis book without the biggest, dopiest smile on your face. It’s literally impossible to not feel happy and for your soul to not feel lighter as you get lost in her stories and Waiting for Prince Harry was no exception. I loved this incredibly sweet story, with a wonderfully warm and intelligent heroine and the hottest and most swoon worthy of heroes!

Kylie has plans – plans for her career, plans for her future wedded bliss, plans for her closet, you name it, Kylie has a label maker, binders and Pinterest boards to ensure everything is laid out just so. What she doesn’t plan for is to fall into the lap of one Harrison Flynn. Ladies, let’s take a moment of silence for all the ovaries that went kaboom in delirium at the perfection of this hunk. Harrison is exactly what Kylie needs; she just doesn’t know it yet. He sees in her, the potential for greatness, recognises the talent she has for design and doesn’t hesitate to encourage it. While Kylie didn’t factor Harrison into her plans, she can’t help but fall for the Hockey captain with hidden depths and despite best efforts to keep him firmly in the friend zone, chemistry sizzles and the romance is worthy of coming over with a case of the vapours.

I adored Kylie as a heroine! She was so warm and witty and downright hilarious at times. I loved how organised she was and how she shares a talent with her creator for accessorizing and her eye for details. Aven has a way of ensuring the reader can envision each scene perfectly and made it so easy to get lost in the story. Harrison is an all-round dreamboat but I loved how vulnerable he was, especially with regards to how his past affects his future. Feeling lesser because he never had a formal education made me feel really sympathetic towards him and I loved how Kyle drew him out of his shell regarding his insecurities just as he did for her. The world of Ice Hockey is something I have zero knowledge of and it was so interesting to learn more about the celebrity that comes with being a Hockey star, along with those assertive “Puck Bunnies”. Oh my!

Waiting for Prince Harry is a book that you’ll find very hard to resist its charms. Light-hearted, fun, sizzling with chemistry and with an all-round feel good factor, it’s one I highly recommend. Save it for a bad day, curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and forget your troubles for a few precious hours.

OMG! THIS BOOK.. IS SIMPLY BRILLIANT!

I have the opportunity and honor to chat with Ms Ellis often and let me tell you, she's one of the nicest authors out there. I was soooo excited to read this book (as many of my friends/bloggers), so when I got a copy I was over the moon. I started reading and if life (and kids) didn't interfere, I would have read it in probably 3 hours. MAX!

No it's not a short book and I'm not the fastest reader, but this book is sooo good, you won't be able to put it down.

I haven't read such a brilliant and addictive romance in quite some time. Everything about this book is simply amazing. The story is centered around Kylie, who's the sweetest thing EVER! Honestly, I could relate to her so much, though I'm not that big of an OCD person (as she is). Anyhow, she won my heart from page ONE! When she's introduced to us, she's at her brother's wedding and seems everyone is trying to hook her up with someone. But Mr Right could be (LITERALLY) just around the corner, waiting for her, to fall into his lap! Again, LITERALLY! Harrison is a hottie, there's no doubt about it, but Kylie sees something more in him, he's different, he's a good listener and he's fun! But, soon Kylie finds out that Harrison is a famous hockey player and things start to get crazy for her.

Ok, no more about the plot. You MUST read it for yourself, and what I already said is more than enough. But boy oh boy do I feel like gushing over the romance and the wonderful writing style. Though there's an instant chemistry between Kylie and Harry, Ms Ellis doesn't rush things. She's building the romance gradually, connecting us with these two characters, making us feel exactly what they're feeling. Everything seems so natural, despite the fact there's a celebrity in this book. Both Kylie and Harry are such wonderful characters and they feel so real! That's probably the thing I loved most about them.

Kylie loves personality tests, so each chapter starts with one, adding so much humor in this book. God, even the thought of this book puts a big smile on my face. I really can't praise this book enough! It's definitely a book that will stay with me for a long time. Totally recommend to every romance fan, you're in for a treat!

Kylie Reed is organized and clean. She follows the rules and she puts making other people happy in front of her own wishes. She's working in a fancy boutique in Dallas, but is dreaming about making her own designs. She has a file for the future, but she doesn't do any of the things she loves to do yet. That also goes for dating, Kylie wants a prince Harry. When she meets the perfect ginger haired guy Kylie knows she's found the love of her live. He's a gorgeous, gentlemanly and well read person and Kylie instantly likes him a lot. Will that feeling be mutual and who is her prince Harry really? Will she be able to live in the present or will she keep pleasing everyone but herself?

I loved Waiting for Prince Harry. It's such a sweet story. Kylie is a very nice girl who needs to learn to tell people what she really thinks. Is her prince Harry the person who can make her dreams come true or does she make things happen herself? Kylie is very creative and I liked that about her. Her fashion style and every idea she comes up with are great. Her prince isn't what she expected him to be when they first met, but that gives the story such a wonderful angle. I couldn't put this book down, I read it in one go. It's like a delicious cake, you just want to keep eating until you've finished the last crumb.

Kylie is a 24-year-old girl, who has a lot of dreams, but tends to live in the future instead of the present. She has a thing for Prince Harry and while she attends a wedding, she meets her very own Prince Harry, when she accidentally falls into his lap. The ginger boy, who she encounters is a famous hockey player Harrison Flynn.

Harrison and Kylie are perfect together, because they complete each other and even if they don't seem to agree/understand each other right away, they end up with realization that they were right and what made them fight actually ties them together even stronger.

Kylie is a very sweet and lovable character and Harrison is a real star in the book, who wouldn't love him? I really enjoyed reading it and I also loved the quizzes at the beginning of every chapter.

4 ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES STARS

I enjoyed this book very much. It's a good story that is written with humour and wit with a couple of unexpected twists. Harrison is the Hockey Hottie Hero. Kylie is the non typical rich girl who has no idea of Harrison's hockey status. If you're looking for a book with hot and heavy sex scenes , you won't get that in this novel. The sex scenes are the fade to black variety. It does not lack sexual tension or chemistry in any way though. So why not 5 stars? It was a little too descriptive for me at times. I didn't need to know who was wearing which designer all the time. I would have liked Harrison's POV. But overall this was a sweet, romantic book with a gorgeous ending.

description

What a sweet and beautiful story this was! Reading Waiting For Prince Harry gave me such a warm feeling in my heart. It was a story about finding true love, nurturing your soul mate, overcoming personal insecurities, embracing your present, and making your future happen now. Loved it!♥

Aven Ellis has a way of a writing beautiful fairy-tale stories and making them modern, relevant, sweet, and very funny. Every chapter in this book made laugh with the eloquence and originality of the writing so it wasn't hard at all to strongly connect with the story and the characters.

Oh, the characters were amazing! Kylie was the sweetest, most humble, and lovable heroine ever. She was always so amazed by how her life was turning out after meeting her "prince" that she just couldn't believe her luck. But even fairy-tales have drama and in this story it was a light and realistic kind of drama that forces Kylie to reevaluate her life and confront her fears so she can have a future with her prince charming.

Now to the "prince" of the story. The blurb doesn't give much details about his identity so I'm going to abstain from it too and just give you my perceptions of him... I loved him!! This man was a dream come true and a prince in every sense of the word. He's gorgeous, sexy, charming, goodhearted, humble, protective, and yet he was not perfect. This amazing prince had some fears of his own and it was until he meets Kylie that he finds the strength to fight them. My heart totally melted for this man, he was brilliant, selfless, and irresistible and he didn't even know it which made him so much more irresistible to me.

Kylie and her prince's story was fun, romantic, and endearing. From the moment they meet to when they completely fall for each other I absolutely loved them together. They were perfect soul mates because they saw a beautiful person inside and out in each other and that reflected through out in the story.♥

I totally recommend Waiting For Prince Harry if you want a sweet read that makes you laugh and makes you happy because it reminds you that only love can complete your life like nothing else can. ;)

Ahhh, I adored Waiting for Prince Harry!! This book was the perfect blend of romance, humor and heart. I'm pretty sure I was smiling the entire time as I read. I love this kind of feel-good romance with amazing characters to boot!

I adored Kylie. She's not a big partier. She'd rather stay in with take out and a movie. We'd be best friends. Kylie meets Harrison Flynn by chance and had an amazing conversation with him -- all the while not knowing that he is the famous captain of the Dallas Demons hockey team. Honestly, their chemistry is off the charts. I completely adored every interaction Kylie and Harrison had together! Kylie has been making plans, filing ideas away for her future, never things for now, always for later, and Harrison comes into her life and everything changes. He pushes her to seize her dreams, to start living for now and that letting a bit of chaos in may not be all that bad. In return, Kylie also pushes him to address his fears for his future. That was one of my favorite aspects of their relationship -- that they each had such a profound effect on each other and supported each other so much!

Not that their relationship was easy and everything was hunky dory. Because dating a professional athlete? Yeah, THAT comes with a whole lot of crap. Paparazzi, crazy fans, social media and gossip -- all that on top of a growing new relationship? That's rough!! It's a lot to bear, to adjust to and deal with, especially when Kylie and Harrison are just trying to build something together! I love how they deal with it though and also love how true to life that whole experience is -- I mean, this is how people are to famous people! I can't even imagine what those poor professional athletes have to deal with because if I saw my favorite athlete out and about? I'm ashamed to admit I'd totally want his picture too. (Although, seriously, I'd never be a Puck Bunny or Flynnbabe!! I'd just fangirl really hard on the inside.)

Oh and I have to take a paragraph and discuss Harrison. Totally sexy hockey player Harrison. I honestly never thought too much about red haired men. I just didn't. All that changed once I met curly ginger haired, green eyed Harrison. Not only is he completely hot, he is sweet, funny, intelligent and a fantastic chef. We need more of these in the world!

Also, I love how each chapter opens up with a pop quiz question, similar to ones you see in magazines. Not only are they hilarious but they add such a fun element into the story!

And the fashion! Everything is so detailed and I love it. I can see everything clearly in my mind and it makes me want to go shopping so desperately. Aven definitely not only has a gift for writing but for putting together the best outfits! Plus, this extra detail fits into the plot so well. The detail isn't limited to just fashion but also in cooking and in Kylie's dream house decor. So, yes, I am slightly obsessed with the Food Network and also HGTV and this was like a combination of all my loves!

If you are looking for a fun, heartfelt, great contemporary romance, you need to go and read this immediately. This made me SMILE and SWOON and LOVE the characters and everything so much. Don't you dare wait to read Waiting for Prince Harry because Prince Harry waits for no one. (Bad pun? Sorry not sorry... Just go read it!)

I really don't like to use the term "cute" to describe a book because I fear it might be taken as belittling the author, even if that's not how I meant it. So, instead, I'll say Waiting for Prince Harry was absolutely charming and exactly the type of book I needed when I read it. After reading several intense books, I was looking for something light and fluffy that would make me smile. I wanted a happily ever after in which no one was sick or dealing with a relative with an illness. (Might sound strange to need that in a book, but let's just say life has been heavy lately and I needed to escape into a book without having to worry about it triggering an extreme emotional response.) I spent some time on Goodreads and, when I came across my friend's glowing review for Waiting for Prince Harry, I knew it was the perfect time to read it. I was right.

I absolutely adored the characters in this book. Kylie was a regular girl and I found her totally likable. I loved how each chapter began with a magazine quiz style question. I used to be such a sucker for those when I was younger. (Of course, if I read more magazines now, I suspect I still would be, if I'm being perfectly honest.) Kylie was charming and awkward and it was easy to root for her as she grew throughout this story. She was admittedly a little too doormat-esque for me in the beginning. I like it when my heroines are more assertive. She got there by the end.

Harrison was so freaking swoony I don't have words adequate to subscribe him. I was hooked with the words ginger hockey player. (I have a bit of a thing for hockey players these days. And gingers.) My favorite part about him was that he wasn't the stereotypical conceited athlete. He wasn't perfect – truth is, he was a bit moody and there were times I wanted to shake some sense into him – but those imperfections made him more realistic and made me love him even more.

The meet cute between Kylie and Harrison was so charming and perfect for their awkward selves. I liked the pace at which their relationship developed. The problems they faced seemed realistic of what would happen when a "regular person" dated a famous one. Their road wasn't completely smooth, but it also wasn't angsty and overly dramatic. They balanced each other well and helped each other grow. I loved their chemistry and their banter and, really, everything about them together.

It's no secret I like my romances on the steamy side at times. While Waiting for Prince Harry wasn't overtly sexual, it gave good slow burn. Kylie and Harrison have a ton of chemistry and it leaps off the pages. Their love scenes were sweet and swoony instead of smoking hot and it was absolutely perfect for these characters and their story.

This is my first Aven Ellis book, but it definitely won't be my last. Next time I'm in the mood for a sweet, light romance, I know exactly who to turn to.

Kylie is at her brother's wedding and her mother is nagging her about socializing again, but Kylie likes to be by herself. She loves to make clothes and aprons and hopes to start her own business one day. She has a job at The Dallas Boutique where she's hired to style the windows and the store. When she can't stand it anymore, Kylie leaves her brother's reception and ends up in a stranger's lap, drenching him with her white wine. Kylie is embarrassed and offers this gorgeous ginger-haired man a drink to say sorry. They end up chatting the whole evening, until Kylie is summoned back to the reception. Unfortunately they don't exchange phone numbers, which is unfortunate because when they part ways Kylie can't forget about him. Will they ever see each other again?

Harrison is the captain of the Dallas Demons. He's a star hockey player and paparazzi follow him everywhere. The moment Kylie looks at him in shock, he knows that she has no idea who he is. People and women especially love him for his fame, but never just for him. The moment Harrison leaves Kylie to go back to her brother's wedding, he can't accept the fact that he'll never see her again. She's stirring up feelings he hasn't felt in a long time or maybe ever. Being the star he is comes with a lot of privacy issues and going to public places will always be a challenge. Does Kylie have what it takes to deal with this?

Kylie and Harrison are both incredibly kind and creative people. Kylie loves to sew and has a good decorative eye. I loved to read about the clothes she chooses to put on mannequins and about her fabulous aprons. If she'd have her own store I would buy these aprons, no doubt about that. Harrison is very good at reading people and he feels connected to Kylie. They're so sweet together and I liked how considerate they are of one another, I really enjoy it when main characters in a story click so well.

Waiting For Prince Harry is a heartwarming and endearing love story about finding one's own Prince Harry. Harrison is a gorgeous ginger-haired man and I liked reading Kylie's descriptions of him. Aven Ellis always comes up with the most fun main characters. I love her sense of humor and she constantly makes me laugh out loud. The real Prince Harry got married today to his stunning bride Meghan, so I couldn't resist reading Waiting For Prince Harry. Aven Ellis is a fan of the royal family as well and I love that she includes that in her stories. I am a great admirer of Aven Ellis and I can't wait to read another one of her amazing feelgood love stories.

Having just read several gritty, thrillers back to back Waiting for Prince Harry was just what the doctor ordered. A light, feel good book that just melted my heart and made me sigh and smile with happiness.

The story begins at the wedding of Kylie's brother to Candace - picture perfection and indulgence in every possible way and that's what this wedding was like. None of it is really Kylie's style and she just wants to melt into the background and dream about her fantasy romance with Prince Harry. She does her best to blend into the background escaping the main wedding hall for a bit of quiet time in another bar only to end up spending the evening chatting and laughing with a 'Prince Harry' lookalike.

Harrison and Kylie were so perfectly matched I was disappointed when the evening ended and they went their separate ways. Aven didn't make us wait too long though, the next day he turned up, just like Prince Charming to Kylie's place of work and so the romance begins.

This was a delightful read. In Kylie and Harrison Aven gave us a match made in heaven. I loved the way their attraction literally pulsed off the page, they were a classic case of ying and yang - each complimenting the other confident yet reticent in equal measures. Life isn't all plain sailing everyday problems, family and life get in the way but I loved how many of these situations was overcome with humour - the light hearted bantering between the two was a real plus for me - a sure sign they were meant to be together.

I read this book almost in one evening, not just because I'm a fairly quick reader but because the words just flowed making for a relaxed evening of smiles and sighs. Don't get me wrong it's not all hearts and flowers - throw family, friends, the press and obsessive fans into the mix and you're bound to have a few issues to work through.

Watching Kylie emerge as a beautiful butterfly gaining confidence as she grew under the protective wing of her Prince was heart warming to read. Thank you Aven for the antidote to all the dark things I've read lately - this book was just what the doctor ordered for me at this time. I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting a feel good book with a good mix of hearts and flowers along with family life and your very own Prince Charming to dream about - sheer heaven.

I am a huge fan of Aven Ellis' books, partly because they are absolutely brilliant, and partly because she writes the most amazing male characters, that you can't help but fall in love with. I had just finished chapter two, when I tweeted Aven to let her know I may have fallen in love already with Harrison in this book!

Kylie Reed tends to live in the future, she has files for everything she wishes to achieve in the future, all her dreams and expectations, however she doesn't tend to live in the present. There is always a good reason for her to put off doing things until the future, until she falls into the lap of an incredibly sexy stranger.

Kylie has always had a thing for Prince Harry, so when she makes a connection with her stranger, and then discoverers his name is Harrison (or Harry to his friends), and is also ginger, she can't help but feel its fate.

The more I read and learnt about Harrison, the deeper I was falling for him myself. The way he clearly cares about Kylie, is lovely to see and the incredible connection that the pair of them have is astounding.

Harrison in Dallas at least has about the same level of celebrity that Prince Harry has in the UK. Everyone tends to want a piece of him, and yet its the private side of him that is so intriguing. He is everything you could want for in a man, and more.

Seeing Kylie's character develop as she falls deeper and deeper for her Prince Harry, and she grows as a person and starts living a bit more in the present is endearing.

This is a the ultimate in romance books. Amazingly there are very few sex scenes, and there is a greater focus on the emotional connection between Kylie and Harrison than the physical. Of course, it isn't all plain sailing, and I found myself willing them to sort out their differences.

If you haven't read anything by Aven Ellis before, and you have an e-reader, then please take a look at this or any of her other books. They are all fantastic, and I promise you will fall in love with a whole new group of book boyfriends.

This is my third Aven novel, and I just have to say…she sure can bring the sweetness! In a genre full of books that go too far one way or the other, she manages the perfect balance of drama, heartache and swoons. Her books, and characters, are always a treat to experience.

In Waiting for Prince Harry, we meet Kylie. She’s spent most of her life doing things for others because she’d rather suffer than cause a fight. She has a passion for design and loves to sew. But she caved in to her parents’ wishes on college, and is still holding back on the things she wants. She even gets bullied at work because she doesn’t have the guts to take a stand.

Enter Harrison Flynn, the guy with the red hair who she quite literally falls into the lap of while trying to escape the horror of her brother’s wedding. While trying to make up for her mishap by offering him a drink, these two share a night chatting and getting to know each other without pretenses or even names. Sadly for them both, they part ways not knowing if they’ll ever see each other again.

But Harrison isn’t okay with just one night. He finds her. And then we learn just who this mysterious Ginger Kylie met at the bar really is. He’s Harrison Flynn, Captain of the Dallas Demons hockey team, and Dallas’ most eligible bachelor. Which proves to offer some drama for this new, budding relationship. Kylie isn’t used to being in the public eye, and Harrison wants to do everything he can to protect her from it.

We soon find out that these two each have their own lessons to learn, and not only do they have to figure things out together, but separately as well. So they can live happily ever after…

Like I said before, Aven has a talent for the sweetness. Kylie and Harrison were so adorable together, and I loved reading about their road to happiness. If you want a light, sweet, sometimes funny and sometimes heartichoky little love story, you should definitely pick this one up when it comes out!!

Waiting for Prince Harry book review

5 Beautiful Shining Stars!!

I was lucky enough to have been given an ARC of Waiting for Prince Harry and I am hoping to keep this review as spoiler free as possible coz you’ve really gotta read it for yourselves.

Ok, let me start by saying that I was hooked on this book, I didn’t want to put it down. Aven has this ability in her writing that makes it such easy reading and by that I mean that the story just flows perfectly and before you know it you have finished it and craving more.

So, this is the story of Kylie and how she is totally smitten with Prince Harry (let’s face it there is definitely something about him), she is waiting to find her very own Prince Harry…enter Harrison Flynn a super hot famous ice hockey player who Kylie is convinced is well out of her league and would rather be mixing with models. Now, without giving any more away I am not going any further into the storyline as don’t want to spoil it for anyone but I totally love the circumstances in which they meet (enough said). Both Kylie and Harrison are brilliant characters and I came to love them both as I’m sure you will.

Aven Ellis is an amazing author and now a truly fantastic friend who I am so glad to have met (well not in person but one day hopefully).

So all that’s left to say is go buy Waiting for Prince Harry….. I loved it and I’m sure you will too!!
