Olympus Academy #1

The Titan's Treasure

Rate this book
They say curiosity killed the cat. I’m pretty sure it’s going to get me killed too.

My name is Pandora and I’m one of the only Titan descendants at Olympus Academy. Everyone else is descended from Olympians. Well, everyone except Icarus. And he’s just weird. Good looking, I guess, but weird.

Apparently, Titans are supposed to have special powers - powers that even Zeus is afraid of. Even though my powers seem pretty dull so far, my professor says that the only way to stop Zeus throwing us out of school at the end of term is to find a box hidden in the academy somewhere, that only Titan magic can find. If we give it back to the Lord of the Olympian Gods, it'll prove that he can trust us and he'll let us stay.

And I have to stay. Not only is graduating from the academy the only way I can be allowed to live in the limitless world of Olympus, but if I fail or get thrown out demons will kill me and my family. So... it's pretty important I find that box.

The trouble is, Olympus Academy is no oridinary school. Did I mention it's underwater? And it's full of jerks who make my life difficult because I’m a Titan. But there’s something else going on. Something deadly. And try as I might, I just can’t leave it alone.

Find out if Pandora can unlock her Titan powers and keep control of her dangerous curiosity in this brand new Greek mythology retelling!

Olympus Academy is an academy romance. Expect mythological creatures, elemental magic, gorgeous guys with wings, mermaid shifters and a heroine who doesn't take no for an answer!

Overall, this was an ok read for me. I can't say I didn't like it, but I will not be reading the next one though. I read it less than a month ago and I could barely remember what it was about... It's not too long, with some Percy Jackson vibes (not a copycat like some other books, which is good) and an enemies-to-*BAM*-love romance, but with almost zero chemistry between the main characters.

It was shallow. Nothing too sophisticated. You wouldn't have to strain your brain trying to put the pieces together. Predictable plot with "clues" that even a 2-year-old could decipher. The protagonist was 18 but had the mental processing and depth of thoughts of a 14-year-old. The "love interest" treated her like crap but she still relentlessly pined for him.
Overall, a light read. Contains enough elements from both Percy Jackson and HP to mildly quench my thirst, although only temporarily and insufficiently.
Some aspects were straight out identical to the Percy Jackson series that I wonder if the author had permission or legal grounds to use them.
I'll give it 3.5 stars because it was a little cute, and I kind of want to read the entire trilogy to see how it ends.

Loved it

I really enjoyed reading this book. Pandora has never really fit in, and then on the day after her birthday she finally gets to meet her mom...well sorta of. She shows up long enough to tell her that she has to attend a magical school or else her father and sister will be in danger. The school is unlike any she has ever thought it would be.
This is a well written book and I love the take on mythology. I can't wait for the next book

I'm not so sure exactly what to say about this book so i'm just going to ask myself 3 questions

Did I like it, love it or hate it? Liked it
Would I read it again? Nope
Do I think others will love it? Absolutely

Bottom line, I liked the characters, the storyline was interesting but had potential to be better. It was not engaging for me personally but I see why others would think differently. So yeah mixed feelings about this one

This was a good read. Pandora is attending the academy. Here she finds out that she is a Titan. Apparently they aren't very common and the only other one isn't the most people oriented person. Here she begins a quest to find some things which are supposed to help her defeat the demons. The ending was good and sets you up for the next book.

Me esta encantado como escribe esta autora. Sus historias sobre mitología griega y dioses del olimpo son muy interesantes. Además que le da un ritmo ágil haciendo que no pueda parar de leer.

Estoy deseando leer más de Pandora y Ícaro💖.

This was a fairly generic supernatural high school story. It did have parts that were quite bright & unique. Unfortunately they only peeked out like decorations along a rather formulaic story arc. I found it slow on those parts of the arc with less embellishments, if you will - the standard mean girl parts, etc. I’m grateful to have had the chance to read it & actually find myself interested to follow the rest of the arc for the main character & her boyfriend, so in the end, that is a success! It did draw me in & made me care about them.

It is entertaining, but quite weak. At first it reminded me of the Harry Potter saga, because they have 'magic' classes, students bullying the protagonist just for the fact of being her ... but everything is quite predictable, I hope the next ones improve.

DNF at less than 10%. Felt like too much of a Percy Jackson rip-off for me to enjoy it. The author even used the ‘demigods have ADD/ADHD’ idea, but coined it as ‘restlessness’ and ‘troublemaking’.

I needed a long time to get through this book because I listened to the audiobook and the narrator didn’t fit with me well. She did an excellent job as far as I can objectively tell but personally I felt her narrating style turning this YA book into a middle age book instead.
I felt like I had to be sitting in front of the kindergarten teacher during storytime and my imagination even procured the enthralled and distracting little children all around me on the floor. Hence my very late review. Please do keep in mind that this narrator really did an excellent job. I never had problems understanding her. Check out the sample and you’ll know whether you would clash with her narrating this book. As it was, I did warm up to it once the story became too interesting to leave untold. I, personally would give 3 stars but felt that was not objective enough considering I never had trouble understanding her so I went with 4.

The main character, Pandora has mommy issues as in, she was never around and even her father doesn’t resent his ex for it. The weird thing is the arrangement that Pandora has to meet her mother at the seashore on her 18th birthday. After a very disappointing and dangerous “meeting” with her mother, who came out the water only to be followed not long after by a sea demon, she is rushed to safety at the Olympus Academy. One of several as it turns out. But trashed into a world she knows nothing about, Dora has her fair share of challenges. The biggest being a Titan descendant instead of an Olympian one. Feared by all and bullied by some, life isn’t all that great for her. Certainly because she has no idea why she is to be hated so much for being a Titan descendant. Thank the Gods she at least has a great roommate turned friend. Her one classmate for all the Elemental, the only one maybe despised more by everyone as her, also a Titan’s descendant but he seems to despise her the most. Their teacher seems to be the only one not hating the Titans and when he comes up with a plan which will surely grant the two Titan descendants the favor of Zeus and thus, not getting expelled from the academy just for being who they are, the story really kicks off. I am glad to not having given up on this story and surprisingly would even like to continue this series on audio with the same narrator.
One other thing; if you’ve read the Immortality Trials you might recognize the Olympian world, which is nice. Or probably recognize it from the other Olympian Gods series but I haven’t read those yet so can’t be sure about those being in the same world, it’s just a guess.

After reading this book, I wanted to write and post this review to share my honest experiences toward the story.

I read this series after reading the Immortality Trials series by the same author. The characters are different, but the overall world with the twelve realms and the Greek gods is still similar. But the story itself takes a different twist and focuses on an academy setting – still within this amazingly crafted world.

Our heroine this time, Pandora, is a girl who never really seemed to fit in anywhere. Just after her eighteenth birthday, her mother took her to Olympus Academy to keep her safe from demons and to control her powers. Olympus Academy is not your normal academy, sure we have some magic classes, but there is also background into Ancient Greek history. Oh yeah, and the Greek gods aren’t a thing of the past – they’re still alive!

Before reading this author’s works, my exposure to Greek mythology was limited to the Hercules Disney movie and very limited discussions in school. Reading this has really expanded my knowledge on this curious subject. Personally, I believe the story itself was executed excellently with strong characters, an intriguing conflict and an interesting and well-built setting. I also felt that the first part was a bit rushed at first, but that made way for all the action and suspense, and for the real story to unfold. Definitely one I would recommend to anyone interested in Greek mythology and/or into

Pandora finds out on her 18th birthday that she is not fully human, that her mother is a child of the mythological Titans and that she needs to be whisked under the ocean to a special training school run by the Greek Gods for her own protection. Pandora has to learn what she is capable of in a world she doesn't really fit into and her main goal is to return to her family.

Can I just tell you how much I am loving this Magical Academy trend going on right now in Indy books? I felt kind of meh about it when I first started to see them come out but then I ended up reading one and I am so here for these magical school related stories and Olympus Academy is another awesome example of this genre. If you are looking for total escapism reading set in an under the ocean magical college where the Greek Gods are real- then look no further. There was so much going on in the story, be it the hostile dynamic between the Greek Gods and the Titans which amped up the normal level school drama, the learning of magic and the world in general, to a romance with a very prickly yet endearing boy. I really enjoyed getting to know Pandora and now I need the next story to see where the author will take these characters next!

The narrator did a great job of making Pandora come to life, her pacing set the tone and she was great at emoting, making me feel like I could connect to Pandora. I would gladly listen to her read more books, especially the next in the Olympus Academy.

Audio book review
Book 1 in a new series . The author mixed a fast pace action story . The story is a fantasy story that has many levels. What happens when a mortal , human man falls for a goddess. What kind of Child do the 2 bloods creature . A girl is born , she’s named Pandora. Her mother is a Titan goodness that lives in the Ocean. Her mother left her and made Pandora a promise . Pandora is stubborn, she won’t give up or accept excuses from her mother . Does Pandora get any gifts from her gifted mother . How will the Olympian gods feel about Pandora . Will the Olympians test her test her hard hoping she will lose .
I’m a big fan on the Greek Mythology, love all stories . This story is great. It will have you listening till the end .

Kathleen Li Performance was great. She has a great smooth, husky voice , It’s clear and strong . You can tell all the characters by her tone

SOME SPOILERS: This was a fun quick read. This book isn't clearly for me (26 yr old) but i still read it and it was a fun. Pandora, her personality was felt throughout the book. The setting of Olympus was interesting as i never read books about Olympian fictional setting. This book definitely makes me interested in reading books like Percy Jackson. which is a very popular Olympian book series. Book had some similarities with Harry potter, School had some magic. Pandora has a rival mean girl to Harry's Malfoy. Chiron is kind of like Dumbledore, kind of as both were head masters and had relationship with main character. Harry snuck out, Pandora snuck out. Both are heroes. Both have family histories which make them into the person they will become. Both have a good set of friends. Bottom line it was a fun read.

Wasn’t sure what to rate this one. It reminded me a bit of Harry Porter with magic and school in it.
Gods, Titans, mermaids, and other mythical beings is used by the author to weave a story which draws you in. I would love to get other books in the series.
The Narrator does a wonderful job Giving each character their own individual Voice. It is easy to differentiate between each character.
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher free of charge for a honest, unbiased review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to the rest. I will be the first to admit that I am not sure which came first, this or the Percy Jackson series, however, they are very similar scenarios, with different characters. Pandora and Pandora's "box" are introduced. As the member of the new school and outcast to all. Demigods, gods and mythological creatures in a school supervised by Chiron. Again, I am not sure which came first, but I definitely see a lot of similarities so far between the two.

If there's one thing i love about this author's writing style, its that she moves at a steady and consistent pace that makes it so hard to put her books down. There's rarely a dull moment though if i had to make 1 main criticism, its that the sudden and drastic personality change in Icarus is a bit too rushed with no explanation that's more unbeliveable than the monsters she writes about. Straight onto book 2

This is a fun, quick read that delves into modern takes of Greek mythology. I enjoyed the approach of looking at Titans versus Olympians and giving the Titan descendants some air time. Olympus Academy is a neat setting, particularly given its underwater location. The quest is intriguing, and it's nice to see Pandora develop some loyal friendships despite the Titan/Olympian conflicts. The ending is full of action and sets up for what sounds like an exciting sequel!

Olympus Academy

A fun new way to listen about the Olympian Gods and how they would be if they had a school. Being a half mortal definitely makes things more difficult especially if the other half is a Titan. I really enjoyed this book and love how it ended, making you beg for more. Great book!

After being engulfed in the Rick Riordan series, by husband bought me this series as I love Greek Mythology 😍

This book is similar and different to the Percy Jackson series. It follows the story of Pandora "Dora" as she goes to the academy and is faced with obstacles as she is a Titan in an Olympian world.

Good, easy read! On to book two!

Sooooo..... I’m not shocked with the outcome. With a name like “Pandora,” my expectations were set extremely low. When those events occurred, I was not angry because I understood that people with the name “Pandora” are cursed with stupidity. Honestly, she should have listened.... just saying.

Also, Icarus is a precious titan that needs to be protected!

The author made it seem like we don’t understand what we were reading. Her plot twists were so predictable, and her big reveals were just normal. There’s no real wow factor. the magic of mythology is not present, there’s no oomph or bazinga. Feels like a 19 year old wrote it for English class and her teacher gave her an A+ so now she decided to publish it for money. Stupid.

This book reminded me of some great books that I have read in the past. One of those books is Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. For obvious reasons, this book reminded me a lot of Camp Halfblood and the Percy Jackson universe in general. I think this is one of the reasons why I enjoyed the book so much. It shined and rekindled that interest I have in Greek Mythology. I am very excited to see what the rest of the series offers. I also would not mind reading other books by this author.

This is a must-read for Percy Jackson fans and those interested in Greek Mythology.

It was more than mythology. It was a good young adult story. Pandora is a realistic teen with newfound powers. It was a great adventure that leaves you thrusting for more. I got this book from storyorigins and this is my voluntary and honest review.

First mix a bunch of mythological characters. Stretch, fudge, amplify and embellished their stories. Once the stories are well mingled and intertwined, you get a delicious new story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I liked this book. The clash between the titans and the Olympians has not been forgotten. This tells the story of two titan teens at school with Olympian teens and all the drama that goes with it. There is bullying, great friends and a mystery. It is a good read for YA. I would recommend.

Titans ????

I have read some delightful stories about Olympus. But I truly have enjoyed the titan side of the story. I guess I root for the underdog. Looking forward to reading the second book.
