For Every Love, Book Three

If only this type of thing were as easy as it looks in chick flicks.

Ever since her college days, Chantelle has had growing feelings for Dennis, a swaggering and smart geek-at-heart who's got romance coming out of his ears. At least, he talks as if he's mastered the art of dating, but how would Chantelle know if it's true? She's never gotten to experience Dennis as anything more than a close friend.

But wait! A huge opportunity comes along that could impact both their personal and professional lives. This may lead to the perfect time for Chantelle to tell Dennis what he means to her.

It may also be time for some of Chantelle's own words about love to come back to bite her.

Book cover shows a smiling young woman. The tagline says It looks so easy in chick flicks

Two supporting characters from Hope Unashamed nudged me for a few years to write out their own story. So I finally did! While the two books before this one in the series deal with some heavy issues, the characters called for more comedy in this third book.

What’s more, given the pandemic that began early in 2020, I wanted to write something for readers who’d be in need of something lighthearted. In mountaintop seasons, valley seasons, and all the seasons in between, laughter is so good for the heart.

** ARC provided by the author in exchange of an honest review **
This is a clean romance story of 2 childhood friends who started to fell in love with each other in their college.
They didn't tell anyone or each other about their feelings. But somehow they both came to know about it.
There's no as such steamy or sizzling parts in the book which I really missed.
Overall the writing style is good but instead of all the long thoughts more of some real talks could have helped.

Many thanks to Nadine Keels for the complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

Kiss and ‘Telle is a lighthearted romance novella which was a fun and enchanting read focused on the theme of longtime friendship and love. Chantelle and Dennis have known each other from a young age and have been friends since then and both of them have feelings for each other but somehow fails the courage to finally test the waters and commit to something more than friendship.

It was a beautiful story as the author has captured the age-old question of how to alter the status quo of a relationship. Do we rock the boat or continue as it is, what if the feelings of love is one-sided and then what if destroys the beautiful friendship that you share with the person, each of this question is hard as Chantelle and Dennis explores their commitment and trust in each other as they collaborate to write a book together.

Lovely and feel-good contemporary romance.

**I give 'Kiss and 'Telle?' 4.5/5 Stars

Thank you Nadine C. Keels for providing me a complimentary copy of Kiss and ‘Telle?, in exchange for an honest review!

This was quite a lovely, romantic story! Kiss and ‘Telle? follows Chantelle and Dennis, the maid of honor and best man at their friends’ wedding. Both characters have feelings for each other, yet don’t exactly know how to express their feelings. When a collaboration begins between Chantelle and Dennis, things become even more unexpected!

While both characters have clear feelings toward one another, the book is clean romance. It’s great for readers who love playful, romantic banter and flirtations in their stories, yet wholesome displays of affection. Both Chantelle and Dennis work hard to have success in their work lives, and each turn to writing as an outlet for their creative hobbies. Although they are aware of the risks and pitfalls that come with relationships, the journey toward personal happiness is a bit more complex. This novella also has warm side characters (Alexis and Arthur) who offer supportive guidance when complications arise.

Kiss and ‘Telle? is listed as a novella, featuring characters from Keels’s novel Hope Unashamed. A sneak preview of the novel is included. You will love Kiss and ‘Telle?, as it has romantic chemistry and the valuable life lesson of patience through adversity.

This is such a fun, heartwarming novella. I loved getting to know Chantelle and Dennis and I was rooting throughout for them to give into their feelings for each other. This sweet friends-to-lovers romance is filled with humorous banter. Chapters alternate between Chantelle's and Dennis's points of view, so the reader knows their true feelings even before they can admit them to each other.
Usually, I am a major proponent for "just talk to each other already!", but in this short book, their inability to talk about their feelings works well. It just serves to elevate the romantic tension until they can reveal how they really feel, and since it doesn't drag out for hundreds of pages, it works well in this case. I enjoyed every minute with these characters.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a complimentary review copy. All opinions are honest and my own.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Kiss and 'Telle? By Nadine Keets is a sweet contemporary romance that involves two friends that have seen each other through a lot. I can tell that Ms. Keets is a great author just from this little novella.
Will Chantelle tell Dennis the truth about how she feels?
Chantelle
Chantelle is one of our main characters, and one of our characters being the forefront of a chapter. Okay, so what I meant by the last one is that the section was around her and what she was doing in that chapter, along with if it involved Dennis or not. Telle, as Dennis likes to call her along with Telephone, is not only a good friend to her married friends but is a good friend with Dennis. She puts up with a lot from him after all this time. What I like about Chantelle is that Telle knows what she wants and tries to get Dennis to notice her. Along the way, though, I think that she is just as scared about turning their friendship into something else.
Dennis
Kiss and Telle_ CRDennis is our other main character and, of course, the last one of our characters being the forefront of a chapter. For Dennis, that wasn't as much in this little novella as it was for Chantelle. Either way, I did enjoy seeing into his point of view a bit. Dennis uses humor when he couldn't think of anything else to say when the situation got too real for him. What I like about Dennis is that he shows another way of being a blogger besides being a book blogger while also maintaining a job. I kind of like it how they both skirted around their feelings when near each other.
Four Stars
I am giving Kiss and 'Telle? By Nadine Keets four stars because it is a great little novella book. I loved what the author did with the characters and how she is already in their heads from the last book that she wrote. Ms. Keets does a fantastic job of writing this book, and I love it. I enjoyed the banter between Dennis and Chantelle as well.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Kiss and 'Telle? By Nadine Keets.

Until the next time,

I’ve reviewed and loved quite a few books by Nadine C. Keels so when she asked me if I wanted to review her newest release, Kiss and ‘Telle?, I said yes. This novella is a clean romance and just pure sweetness. It’s basically a Hallmark movie in a shorter format. The characters in this story first appeared in another book, Hope Unashamed. I haven’t read that book so I went into this one blind. It didn’t really make a difference, however, because the story is well written. I had no issues keeping up with the different characters and figuring out what was going on. Keels’ writing is always easy to read so you don’t have to worry about being confused if you decide to pick up this novella without reading its precursors.

I’m not going to talk about the actual story too much since this is a novella and a newer release but I will say while it is predictable, it’s enjoyable. Typically with romances it’s pretty clear early on who will end up with who but if the romance is well written, it’s still fun to see how the characters get from point A to point B. This is definitely one of those romances.

I know many people are wanting to show their support for black authors right now. Nadine C. Keels is a woman of color who writes about characters of all colors. Chantelle, Dennis and the other characters in this book are black so if you’re looking to support a black woman or read about black characters, this novella (or any of her other books) would be a great choice.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this short love story. The introduction of the book already mentioned that it was going to be a light read but it was more than I expected.

Both main characters, Chantelle and Dennis, are very lovable and down-to-earth. They are so real and sincere, that I truly wished them to be happy together with every additional page I read! I have smiled a lot while reading this and I was also feeling happy by the end. Who would not love to find someone like Chantelle/Dennis?

The story was well written with a good flow of words and I wanted to read more. There was just one point in the story where it felt too heavy (I think it was fairly in the beginning when Dennis explains his philosophy of creatives and artists to Chantelle) for a presumably lighthearted read. I love to know more of a character to create a stronger bond but it felt kind of out of place. There were not enough pages to explore and deal with this kind of depth, and maybe it would have fit better to move this kind of depth to the last pages. (Yeah, I wished the book would have been longer, I really liked the setting and the characters)
But then again, I'm being VERY picky here; if you like a good romantic story, you should read this book!

This book has so many uplifting and funny moments!

I enjoyed this short story about Chantelle and Dennis, the characters were described quickly but enough that you felt engaged with the characters. I enjoyed their banter back and forth with each other, and I liked what Chantelle said:

“I figure, if folks could spend less time just waiting for love and more time finding ways to give love, it would help”- Chapter 3.

That is one of the underlying themes in this book that I think needs to be broadcasted far and wide. Others include the younger generation needing to step up and show the world what they do and leaning on God for our ups, and downs in life. Chantelle and Dennis have so much laughter together and they learn about each other over time the way good friends and life-long partners do.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars for the creativity in creating a great story in a short story, for the inspirational quotes throughout this book (I had a hard time choosing just one to include!), and for the message of speaking up and not being afraid.

*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

Kiss and ‘Telle is about two friends,Dennis and Chantelle.
Both of them are attracted to each other, giving themselves green lights but not yet bold to admit how much they love each other.
I find their conversations amusing.

This is a novella with two central characters. It is a contemporary romance with 8 chapters.

Imagine being in love with your best friend and you wish he can notice you more as a woman instead of just his friend?

I must admit, while reading this book,I was reminded of those Black American movies where they speak so fast and make false threats.

In all, this is a good book if you’re looking for something light with lots of conversations.

I love Chantelle’s conversation with her best friend, Alexis. I think every lady needs an Alexis in her life not for some pity party but just to listen and be there.

This is my first time reading something by Ms. Keels and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a very cute and lighthearted romance novella that was a lot of fun to read. It focuses on love and friendship. Chantelle and Dennis have known each other for a long time and have been really good friends. They both have romantic feelings for each other but have not had the courage to tell each other. This was a beautifully written story that takes the characters through the journey of friendship to love. Chantelle and Dennis were adorable and I loved following them on their journey. A very well-written story and I'm looking forward to reading more by this author!

This was my first Nadine Keels book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The witty, snappy dialogue flows along so smoothly between the two leads, it was like watching a well-written rom-com. I immediately liked and enjoyed both Chantelle and Dennis, they are wonderful characters, and the premise of them being such close friends and not wanting to rock the boat, so to speak, by one or the other admitting that they felt deeper feelings than friendship, was so true to life. I loved that they were both Christians. Good, clean love story that moved along to a wonderful, sweet finish. Looking forward to more from Ms. Keels. I give the story 4.5 stars, with only a half point off because it was quite short. I truly wished it would have gone on longer.

A whole lot of fun to be had here, equal parts wit and goofiness! A friends-to-lovers contemporary romance that doesn't prolong the drama just to fill pages with words.

A review of KISS AND TELLE, by Nadine Keels. A free copy was provided for me.
Chantelle Jackson and Dennis Lawson were maid of honor and best man at their friends wedding. They have long been attracted to each other, but neither is willing to broach the subject of love. Both were college graduates, but while Chantelle and their friends were succeeding in business, Dennis was only able to get a job changing tires at an auto dealership - and is unsure of himself around Chantelle, who he calls `Telle` and sometimes `Chantellephone`.
Dennis is writing a popular blog, and tells her he is thinking of turning it into a book, and suggests to Chantelle that they join their blogs together.
After finishing their book, they celebrated by going to a Tango-night dance; but Dennis shied away from making it seem like a real date. Can love ever find a way to these two?

This was Book 3 of the series For Every Love: Three Romantic Reads. It began where Book 2 left off with Arthur and Alexis getting married. This story was about the friendship and working relationship between Dennis and Chantelle. I thought the beginning of this story was a bit slow while the author laid down the groundwork but by the end of the book I was laughing out loud. This was my favorite of the three stories.

I love that this story can stand-alone, with a connection to the previous without so much retelling. I also love the supportive nature of this circle of friends. I think Dennis and Chantelle needed a little more something, this just seemed to be a snippet. I would have preferred more elaboration on their ups and downs regarding the risks of best friends wanting to be more.

3.5* rounded up

I really enjoyed the story. I am typically drawn to psychological thrillers and murder however this was a nice change. The story kept me interested and hopeful. I will say I wanted more. The ending is ok, ingwt why it ended there, but we could have used a little more....
