In Love's Name

Rate this book
Oftentimes anything can go when Love's name is involved. For Leighanna and Janero what should've remained as a feud between neighbors quickly spirals into a mutual attraction they both find hard to deny, and when Leighanna finds herself needing a place to stay for three months Janero surprisingly becomes her safety net. Given their close proximity it doesn't take much for their once deniable attraction to turn into unavoidable true feelings. Before it's all said and done, both of them find themselves willing to do things they swore they'd never do in the name of love.

A cute little novella, I liked it overall, but I wish it was longer and had more detail. Because it felt like there were only a few key scenes and then we didn't get to see how Leigh and Janero's relationship really developed, it was in the background.

Basically they don't like each other, then they suddenly do, they're almost instantly comfy with each other when they supposedly hated one another a chapter ago etc. But it's a novella so it's okay.

In Love's Name had potential but, the writing was so bad. I'm honestly shocked at all of the 5-star reviews. The storyline would've been much more enjoyable had the book not been riddled with grammatical errors from start to finish. This was suppose to be an enemies to lovers book but, the enemies part was pretty much nonexistent. There really was no part in the book where Leighanna and Jenero were actually enemies. Between the bad writing and grammatical errors, it was a struggle to finish this book. If you fancy yourself an "Indy Writer," please pay someone to edit your books. In Love's Name is my first book by A. Marie Johnson and it'll probably be my last.

Leighanna x Jenero

🥺
This was soo cute. A little enemies to lovers short. Leighanna and Jenero are neighbors. The walls are thin and they weren't too fond of each other. Leighanna was in a bind and Nero came through. I loved the little friendship they formed that eventually turned into more. If you're looking for a little fun quick easy read, I say try this.

"You've had me out here doing anything just to get close to your pretty ass. And I'd do everything all over again too, as long as it's me and you in the end."
Janero and Leighanna were amazing, their chemistry was so good and felt from the beginning. This book has the insta-love trope and even though I'm not generally a fan of it, it really worked for me here. Janero was so cute always hyping Leighanna up and all their interactions with their friends had me cracking up.

THIS BOOK!!! THIS BOOOOK!! My heart belongs to this short novella (70 pages long) about two feuding neighbors who suddenly become roommates when Leighanna finds out her landlord is renovating her side of the duplex.

This book is funny as hell, romantic AF and I completely adore it. I hope they will be more books in this same contemporary world because Leighanna and Janero's best friends need to have their own HEAs though I'm actually just really in need of more Leighanna and Nero story so I just want to see more of them in other books.

This book has insta-love so again if you do not like insta-love, don't read it. Personally I do love it and this book shows it so well!!! Janero is smooth AF and romantic. And he has been waiting for Leighanna to give him the time of day. When they finally get to be roommates, I love the way they connect over chicken tacos, popcorn and reality TV shows.

Watch my reading vlog if you want to see me actually freak out and swoon over this book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G25Sj...

I’m a sucker for an good enemies to lovers read but this thing with Leigh and Nero was perfect. You knew it was chemistry between them from the beginning. I love that they had a magnificent friendship as their foundation. Definitely can’t wait to read more from this author

I didn’t want it to end!

This novella had one of the best storylines I’ve read in a minute. The chemistry between Nero and Leigh was amazing but it was the scenes with the friends that made me laugh out loud. It reminded me of hanging out with my brothers and their friends growing up. Great story, I definitely recommend.

Sweetest novella I read in a while. It was super low angst and although I expected more dislike to love and it turned out more of those insta-love, it worked for me in this story. Janero and Leighanna are the cutest together.

Love Thy Neighbour

In Love’s Name by A. Marie Johnson is about neighbours Janero Highland and Leighanna. Janero and Leigh are neighbours of an apartment duplex, in the beginning they do not deal with each other. But when Leigh is going throughout Janero comes through. Leigh is being displaced from her apartment for 3 months due to renovations and Janero being the good neighbour he is he offers her a place to say. I love Janero, he’s the whole package. A. Marie Johnson says her novels are where sweet love stories and bad boys meet and she delivers.

And I still want some more of Janero😍

Queen A. Marie Johnson, it's even better the second time around. You still got me wanting more of this couple and their crazy besties. Mia and Kurupt kept me laughing.
I still wanna choke Leigh momma out for being a bitter bih and treating Leigh like ish cause things didn't workout with her and the daddy🙄😡.
I loved Janero & Leigh💕. They both tried hard to pretend like that couldn't stand each other, but the attraction and chemistry was so evident. His ex Bee tried it with her trifling a**🙄, I'm glad Leigh didn't allow her to ruin what they were trying to building.

GOOD READ

This was a cute story of the feuding neighbors who secretly had an attraction for each other. Nero knew just what to say and do to get Leighanna to fall even harder for him. Although they got under each others skin as neighbors, what I did love was the fact that they so easily got along once they started being around each other. So from Feuding neighbors, to friends & ending as lovers shows that anything is possible when it comes to finding love with the person you least expect.

Janerrrrrro is Bae

Cute and sexy love story! Even though I wanted to choke Leigh a couple times, I was hooked. Sexy cover too.
I used Ryan Henry from 9mag for Janero and my daughters face for Leigh.
Janero was a good dude. Breonna needed her feelings hurt worse. Nero was too nice. Lol

This was a cute quick read

I had no expectations going into this read. I downloaded the book as a free read to take a chance on a new author and it was worth it. Nero and Leigh were cute, funny, and passionate. I loved Nero’s confidence in himself, Leigh, and his ability to do anything to get close to her.

This was a cute, short, friends to lovers read. Leighanna and Janero went from feuding neighbors to unsuspecting lovers in the blink of an eye. Leighanna seems to have the worst luck ever, she needs a place to stay and loses her job, but Janero proves to be the fix she never knew she needed. Definitely will be checking out more books by this author.

Leigh has to unexpectedly move out of her apartment. The last person she expected to help was her annoyingly sexy neighbor Janero. Although she was interested, she threw him in the friend-zone to avoid his womanizing ways. Over time, their friendship developed into so much more. This story was short and cute. Their banter, witty dialogue and their transition from friends to lovers were major highlights of this book. Janero was bae. Period. He was funny, attentive, and patient. What impressed me most about him was his ability to support and encourage Leigh without the pressure of a sexual relationship. They developed a bond that led to them realizing that all they needed was each other. I know I say this often, but I hated this book was so short, I wanted more background on the conflict between Leigh and her mother. She was a pessimist and it was obvious that it negatively affected Leigh. Also, I was curious about Janero’s ex and her desperate need to speak to him. It gave me strange feeling that she was arranging some shady activity. Overall, I enjoyed reading about this couple’s journey to love. I can always count on A.Marie to introduce me to new music and make me swoon over men who are considered “rough around the edges”.

I loved this one!! Short as it was it was a good one I loved how Janero was with Leighanna it was beautiful.. He went out of this way to make sure she never felt uncomfortable. He took her in without questions when she had to leave her place and they ain’t even get along he didn’t force or press for pussy either once he got it he was hooked. But he put in time to make it work I loved that. 5 million STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I now have to go and read everything by this author 💕

Very cute romance!

This romance was so cute! It was a really quick read. It was funny at times and heartwarming at others. And I really liked the characters. You gotta love a man that will sit and watch Love and Hip Hop with you🥰😂 I do wish that Leighanna’s character had been a little more developed though, she didn’t really have much personality outside of the romance to me. But I feel like Janero’s character was more developed and I really enjoyed him.

I wish the enemies part of the enemies to love trope in this book had went on a little longer because I have no idea why they got on each other’s nerves so much! If we had explored that more, this book could’ve been perfect to me.

I really enjoyed this and I will be picking up more of A. Marie Johnson’s books! Also, I’d be very interested in sequels to this👀 Maybe if Mia, Leighanna’s best friend, and Kani, Janero’s best friend, each get their own books🤞🏽

Great Story!

I loved these 2 from the first page! Leighanna and Janero are hilarious with their annoying neighbor routine. But that attraction was there! They had an intense chemistry that was bound to surface eventually. They were so cute with their daily routine of sitting on the sofa watching tv and talking trash about the show. They clearly developed a friendship first before they added the physical passion in, so they started with something solid. I really appreciate how considerate Janero was in how he dealt with his ex, it was all about Leigh's comfort. I enjoyed this cute story!

This was an extremely cute story. The oh, I hate you, but I really like you type of thing. I had to giggle at the fake fights. When you know once they were behind closed doors it was that schoolboy/schoolgirl crush. Leighanna, that poor child just could not catch a break. She lost her job and had nowhere to go. Guess who showed up and showed out? Janero knew he couldn’t wait for her to need him.

But are we go talk about how the EX? Thought she was going to stroll back in? GIRL go somewhere. I was so happy that Janero was like Ummmm NO!

OK, I’m close to telling the whole story …I do want more!

cute but just okay

The story was cute. I wouldn’t say insta-love because the MCs have known each other for a while just didn’t like each other.

Even though it was a short story, the details still matter. Leigh spoke about her mother not following her dreams because she didn’t believe in them just made me question Leigh more. Best of the best grades but didn’t go to college or pursue a more established career. She worked at a call center. Did she all of a sudden not care that he smoked? I’ve never been to a tattoo shop that opened at 9 in the morning. How did she know his birthday or was she really lying? Some of the book kind of didn’t flow and was redundant.

This was a good fast paced instant-love story. Leighanna and Janero had an unorthodox start to their relationship. First, Leigh acted as if she couldn’t stand Janero when they were neighbors. But, soon Janero would be the one to save Leigh in her time of desperation. Janero was so funny and super down to earth. He didn’t downplay the attraction but he waited until Leigh was ready to take the next step. The attraction was definitely obvious between these two. Leigh came up with every excuse as to why she and Janero shouldn’t take the next step, lol. I enjoyed reading about these two. It was a lot of funny parts and super down to earth love. ❤️

Alright Nero! 👑

Two neighbors already physically attracted to each other, find love while temporarily living together. Leigh never thought she could care for someone like Janeiro, as she believed they were opposites. She found that he was not only her sounding board, but a really smart and caring man. Nero found that Leigh was everything he ever wanted in a woman. Did not want this to end. Would love to see more of their story. Great job! 👍👍👍

Nero & Leigh’s

Ok Nero love his wittiness and charm. It’s no wonder Leigh was fighting that urge. She was taking losses left and right, but Nero was there to catch her. It’s hard to do but she’s gotta love her mom from a distance. Poor thing!!! And breonna was a waste of words. Why couldn’t her husband his cousin console her. Oh because she realizes she made a mistake. I was waiting for cuzzo to show up too. As always good job but too short.

Good story

This was my first read by this author. Quick read feuding neighbors become friends then lovers when he helps her out of an unexpected crisis. Nero was completely hilarious I liked his relationship with his friends and loved the way he treated Leighanna (even when he called her mean). Leighanna was such a sweetheart to me and needed to love her mother from a far distance. The story though quick was very well told. I will read other books by this author.
