I’m really disappointed with the outcome of this book. The entire time it felt like Cole was genuinely interested in Cory, but afraid of commitment. From the beginning Samson reminds me of the kid who plays with a toy and then loses interest, but as soon as another person plays with the toy they want it back. And poor Cory was that toy for Samson.
Samson gets so angry at Cory for cheating, but if you don’t communicate at all other than saying goodnight for a week, I’d assume we weren’t together anymore too. It’s not like he didn’t have access to his phone or no service.
The characters felt childish and annoying with their high school level obsessive love over Cory. While I do like that they made it work in the end, I feel terrible for Ana Sofia because she’s known she was Cole’s second choice the entire time.
The epilogue bothered me because 10 years later so everyone is approximately (28-34) and the author talks about all the graying hair, yet they have young children? Just something weird that I didn’t like.
This series was mediocre at best, but kept me just invested enough in the characters that I felt like I had to see it through.
