Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

5 My Bad Side Is Like Ninety-Nine Percent Of The Whole Thing Stars

Quote The Drow Nevermore is the second book in the Goth Drow series by Martha Carr and Michael Anderle.

Holy shit! Mind blown. So many monumental bomb drops. Especially that ending! But then there’s also the in depth deep dive into Bianca Summerlin’s persona and her relationship with her daughter. It felt ridiculously invasive? Even knowing how much of an impact her mother’s mantras have on Cheyenne’s everyday life.

Oh, and I’m particularly entertained by the troll family living next door to her. And the ridiculous amount of times Cheyenne stumbles into some crazy impossible, but beneficial situation. Or an equally as unlucky version. (I hope someone finally explains more about the laws people keep mentioning from the other world in the next book.)

Then there’s the big move with Ember after she is finally released from the hospital. The spotlight focused on their amazing friendship was one of my absolute favorite portions in this continuation. Speaking of the move, that creepy and inquisitive neighbor Matthew is honestly to most suspicious person introduced in this series. And if he doesn’t pop out with some bad intentions my jaw might just completely fall off in its process of dropping.

We finally get to meet the crew vaguely mentioned at the beginning of the first book. Have a look at the company her father kept, was particularly enlightening. And I was happy to see Pash’al again, of course.
Then there’s the big reveal into Mattie’s hidden persona. Which was definitely a culture shock, because her entire personality basically changes. Cheyenne has it right when she basically equated her to a psychotic badass.

With all of the new attacks on our fav goth Drow, and these weird portals with tentacle monsters from the in-between popping up I’m locked into this story.

Surprising

This episode was full of pleasant surprises. The grad school schedule solution was elegant, not necessarily realistic, but much better than ignoring the issue. Over and over I kept thinking the story was going to wrap up and push me off to the next chapter, but it didn't. It was a very full and satisfying book, with lots of detailed world building and internal monologue questions that helped lead through the book, but plenty of serious surprises too. I love the blowing off steam at the magical bar side trip. Dealing with Sir was very satisfying to an ex military person.
Michael, I can't really help you with the while technology thing, because I spent 20+ years doing tech support, and I don't care for Macs at all. I get why people like them, but I like to make computers do what I want them to do, and Macs want you to do their thing. I prefer a largish screen laptop running a solid version of Linux or Unix, and that tends to be cheaper for better performance!

I love all of her books even though she misspells the word 'whoa' constantly. In all fairness, she's not the only writer to do so.

I'm not actually writing a review but responding to some author's comments she made after one.

First, I know what it's like to live with people with no sense of direction. My daughter has none; my husband had none. Perhaps there's a genetic component.

As for driving in Chicago; if you're anywhere near Lake Shore Drive--who could find their way? Maybe a Drow? :) I was lost there one night looking for a building. When I finally found it, I was in tears. Forever after that the only place I would go to in Chicago was Chinatown. I mean--who couldn't find their way there? Take I-55 & it dumps you right in Chinatown & almost right into a parking lot! Hey! My nerves are up to THAT!

Enjoy this book much better than the first one.

Better booked in the first. Cheyenne is still a little bit too arrogant for me. Maybe if she would show some humility she might be a better character. She may also learn things faster when she doesn’t assume that she knows everything. And I guess you can’t be mad at her because it seems like she’s being strung along I guess that’s part of the authors narrative. I also don’t like the term halfling it seems derogative to me. I do enjoy the nightstalkers and the character of her mother Bianka. I would not read the second book in the series but with all this free time I decided to give it a shot. I will go on and read the third book that’s how much more I was impressed with this book.

Book is awesome... But...

The Author notes are great too!!! Don't skip those. I never used to read them until I started reading books from the Oriceran Universe. The notes included by most LMBPN authors give a glimpse at the person behind the magic. They show us that these are real people, oftentimes living their dream!!! Martha Carr has built her dream house in Austin (Texas neighbor) by writing her books. I LOVE everything I have read from Martha Carr. Michael Andrews is writing and publishing books by many new authors. He's giving other people the opportunity to live their dream!!! He's also funny as all get out in his author notes😂😂😂

You guys keep writing, I'll keep reading!!!!!

I am really enjoying this series so far!! Cannot wait for the next 📚!! The only thing I am annoyed with is the MC. For such a smart woman that was raised by an political icon she sure is naive or dense sometimes. For example, the wards that need to be put up for her new place, she continues to put it off and is not suspicious of why a man that is their New neighbor continues to come to her new place that she knows works in cyber security. I really enjoy this series, I would just like to see in future 📚that she is as smart as she's suppose to be there's just a lot of things that she just puts on hold or ignores.

Good

This is book two in the series, but like book one it’s more like a three-in-one book, with a hefty page count!

This is a continuation of the story of Cheyenne Summerlin, a half human-half drow (dark elf) “half king”.
Very much a coming of age story, we follow along as she learns about the world she knows nothing about, and discovers her magical talents.
Considering the book is quite lengthy, it’s an engrossing story, with just the right amount of action interspersed with everyday life.
An entertaining series, with a rather unique heroine, and a fascinating world she lives in.

Recommended for urban fantasy fans.

RATING: 4⭐
AGE: PG-16

Cheyenne is a Goth college chic with a predestined future that will change her life. Growing up with her famous single mother not knowing who her father is or how she came to be. Super advanced in tech but is working on her masters and college. She has a bbf Amber (aka a Fa e with not powers or is that another story hmm). The 1st book starts the story of Cheyenne's journey of accepts of herself and what she is meant to do to save everyone.
Good Series-sold characters ..sold storyline..i do wish there was a lil more love connects made but all in all it was a Good Sunday afternoon read.

Even better than book 1.

Just finished this fantastic book at 5:30 am so now I can get some sleep! (Unless the 3rd book has been released.) Love the story line and the main character. Also love that I didn't have to be constantly afraid for her, but there was enough tension to make me cheer for her when she "won". So far none of the characters are "too dumb to live" which is a major improvement over many of books out there!! I really hope this series continues for lots more than 2 or 3 books.

Everything I've come to expect from M & M. Great book!

I love the fact that one company can publish three different series on Drows and make them all easy and fun to read. The same is true of Dragons, Trolls, space ships, interstellar wars and make them all just rock out. With everything new and old I have read it's great the new and interlocking stories you have out here in the world. Thanks for all the great hours spent in all of your worlds and those of your brilliant stable of word smiths. Far out! I'm gonna order me some fries now!

Amazing

This author is most likely the most talented writer ever. This is the first time, I in over 60 years of reading books, that I have found an author who can write a book with over 100 chapters and not have a couple dull ones interspersed through the book. With Cheyenne, there is never a dull moment and the action is nearly non-stop. You can't go wrong with this series if you are a sci-fi/fantasy fan. Great story line and sequels!!

Magical

This series really just sucks you in and you don't want to leave! I am so jealous of the writings and words that the authors have so beautifully written. I never knew such a world could exist and I would be able to view it. The fact that the books are so long and so filled with such a spellbinding story is the best thing ever. I so can't wait to see what Cheyenne does next!

This was not nearly as enjoyable or interesting to me as the previous entry. I had to keep making myself come back to finish this. It was easy to lose interest because it felt like a bunch of disjointed short stories in the life of one character rather than an actual novel. Even the ending was underwhelming/unsatisfying. I am genuinely debating whether or not I'll try the third book, which shocks me after how much I enjoyed the first one.

The Dark Drow Cometh Home

WOW & DOUBLE WOW. They, She just keeps surprising more and more. Bloody, not really. I’m Gaelic so we tend to do that. A lot. It is nonstop action from page 1 to the end.
It keeps getting better. Shades of Tolkien and T.A.Salvoratore all rolled into one & more.
The characters all have awesome fun and dangerous roles all tolled into one.
And, what I love most is, the main characters are still on board.

Who are they?

Cheyenne continues to be attacked by magicals wearing a bull’s head pendant. Who are they? Why are they attacking her?

There’s a lot for her to learn, for her to discover, and she needs to step up her game and her magical prowess.

Cheyenne’s story is developing well, and I’m enjoying the flow of the plot. Another good book, and I’m eagerly awaiting the next one.

Keep 'em Coming

Cheyenne is doing it right. The trials continue. Ember has a bigger role. Cheyenne gets a direct line to her dad. Plus action galore.

Please continue this series. I've met some wonderful Goth people and Cheyenne fits.

BTW I'd try smoke signals but the earth is an oblate spheroid and the winds blow the wrong way. (Check the author's notes).

So crazy! So good!

Cheyenne is leveling up big time and holy moley it's getting NUTS!!!
Amazing characters and amazing writing that I've come to expect (and I've never been disappointed)
The plot is twisted enough to be incredibly fun but still makes total sense.
Freaking AWESOME!

Excellent as always!

Carr and Anderle, the dynamic duo, is at it again with the Drow series and this book delivers just as you expect from this writing relationship. Buy it, rent it, (hell, just don't steal it since writers you know... write for a paycheck and theft kinda impedes payment) but anyway, you will not be disappointed

Very good

I really like the storyline and the characters. Overall, I like Cheyenne, but I DO get a little tired of all the tantrums and of how quickly her temper flares. It also seems like too much happens in just a few days. It seems like it should be spread out a little. I would recommend this book

Things are progressing but....

So, this book wasn't terrible, but it was very slow moving. There is a lot of Ember time in this one, and although I do like Cheyenne's friend, I find their interactions to be mostly boring and time consuming. All together things are progressing though, and that has kept me reading.

Love the Goth Drow

New world, new characters and twists and turns everywhere. It's a great recipe for an amazing book. This is that in a nutshell. I am absolutely loving the series. And in a sidebar to Michael Anderle, I would not own an Apple product but at least I never have to wait for months or years for bits and pieces of equipment. Smartass I am. 😁

Better than the average magic/supernatural series. Characters are filling out nicely, plot is developing and you get enough new details to keep you interested with a lot more to come, to keep you interested. I enjoy the fact of a magical world and our world joined by portals, but find fascinating that there is an in-between and really want to know more about this.

Love this series

Cheyenne is improving her skills. She also finds out who Mattie really is. Oh she also is now teaching Mattie’s class 3 days a week. She and Ember are now roommates living in a new apartment. Read to see what what else is going on.

Book two was good, when is book three?

The problem with good books, is as soon as you finish one, you really want the next one. May it be fast, may it be as good or better, and may it be many many pages. 😃. I am really enjoying this series. Need more! 😃

Excellent read

I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when starting the first book of this series. I am pleasantly surprised. The story, writing, and characters are very well crafted. I will wait patiently for the third book because it will be worth it.
