I went into In Other Words, Love positive that it was going to be a new favorite but I'm sad to report that isn't the case with this one. Mostly because the middle of this book left more to be desired and honestly, was a slog to get through. The book is a few pages shy of 200 pages total which should've been an easy one day read for me, but took me three days to finish. If I put a book down and don't feel the motivation to pick it up back up, that plays into my rating and that's why this one is a three star. I will also note; I followed along with the audiobook via Scribd and that may have also effected my reading experience; Scribd only goes to 2x speed (which is fine) and some narrators narrate slow naturally so its really hard to hold my attention in those cases.

Second chance romance between two college sweethearts; one who has become a successful businessman and the other who has become a well sough after ghost writer who is tired of being behind the scenes and wants a novel with her own name on it. The conflict came from an external source and while I appreciated the grown up way everything resolved, I still would've liked to have seen some sort of interaction between these three in some capacity.

If you're a Hallmark fan and in the mood for something quick to read, I'd recommend it. Maybe don't listen to the audio and I think you'll enjoy it even more.

Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary copy of In Other Words, Love by Shirley Jump for the purpose of reading and reviewing. A contemporary Romance and a stand-alone novel. My opinions are my own and no one has influenced them.

In Other Words, Love is a lovely romance with engaging characters and a unique plot. The troupe is a second chance romance, which is a favorite of mine. The writing is smooth and flows, making the pacing perfect, keeping me engaged from the beginning to the end.

Kate’s character is real with her own insecurities. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her. While she wants to write her own books, she ends up as a ghostwriter. She’s an introvert and enjoys being alone more than with crowds. Her parents spent a lot of her childhood away, so she spent most of her time with her grandmother. That may have influenced her risk adverse attitude toward life.

Trent’s a great hero with his own set of issues. He never believed his father saw him as a success, even though Trent has formed a successful international company. When Kate enters his life again—they dated for a year during college)—the attraction is immediate. I enjoyed getting to know him and his insecurities.

The romance between Kate and Trent is sweet and the deep friendship they had in college fosters it. I loved watching their romance flourish and wanted to see them find their happy ending.

If you enjoy contemporary romance with intriguing characters and a compelling plot, then you will want to read In Other Words, Love. This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Jump, but it will not be the last. Happy reading!

I've read a handful of Hallmark Publishing novels and this one doesn't disappoint, in fact, it might be one of my more favorite ones (although they've all been 5 stars worthy). The story follows Kate and Trent, and let's not forget about Grandma and her love of soup. This is my first Shirley Jump book and I do so love her writing. This storyline is heavy on reliving memories, so if you like stories within stories this is the book for you. I'd love to see them make a Hallmark movie from this novel.

While we've been under a stay-at-home order I've been enjoying Hallmark movies, and I thought reading a Hallmark love story in book format would be even more fun. Unfortunately, though I typically like low-conflict and non-steamy romance novels, I didn't connect that strongly with this one. I had trouble feeling sympathy toward Kate the ghostwriter, which made it hard for me to invest in her relationship with Trent. In general, I felt distant from the two main characters, as though I were observing them from far away rather than witnessing their changing emotions up close. I never really got to the point where I was rooting for them to get together because I never got to know either one that well. Even the supporting characters, which are often my favorites, fell flat for me, with the sole exception of Kate's agent, Angie, who felt real and did catch my interest each time she appeared. I loved the last Hallmark book I read (The Game Changer: A Parkwood Mystery by Jennifer Brown) and would happily read others, but this particular novel just did not engage me as I had hoped.

I was looking for a sweet HEA story and I know Hallmark stories always hit the spot for me. In Other Words, Love is the first book I have read by author Shirley Jump and I really enjoyed it. It was a well-written romance with a bit of angst, some adventures, fun and interesting dialogue and of course a happily ever after. Kate and Trent were college sweethearts, who went their own way, and meet up again 15 years later. It was totally unexpected that ghostwriter Kate would be hired to write Trent's book as he has run out of time to write it himself. As their second chance comes around, they are very serious with one another, but come around and remember their camaraderie, fun and feelings toward each other. I also love the way Kate took care of her grandma, it was so touching. I also liked how Trent and his father came around and changed the way they reacted to one another. All in all, this was a great romance with some side stories that are also filled with happiness. This is one I would love to see made into a movie. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

In Other Words, Love is a standalone title and gives us a second chance romance for Kate and Trent – through rather unusual circumstances.

I love the various types of Second Chance Romance tropes that are “out there”, and yes, there are several types. Yet, the ones I enjoy the most usually have a longer amount of time before that reunion, time for the characters to have grown a bit, experienced a bit more of life, and even a different outlook at times. And that is exactly what In Other Words, Love delivers.

While Kate and Trent didn’t survive their college romance with hearts intact, they did each move on to other life goals. Trent took his idea for a business and expanded it far beyond his family’s expectations. But along the way, he’s lost something as well. It was not only his business sense, but his love of being outdoors that lead to his success, and that has been left behind in his drive to build his business into the international company that it is today. Not only does he not have time to get out in the great outdoors he also has let the plans for writing a “how I became successful” book fall behind. He’s committed to doing this but now he’s going to need help – and that help will come in an unlikely person. One he knew well, and one who he hurt badly once upon a time.

Kate’s life hasn’t turned out quite as she’d anticipated. Oh, she’s happy, for the most part, she’s writing… but not books with her own name on the covers. She’s a professional ghostwriter now and those dreams of her own books have fallen to the side due to reality and financial considerations. A unique opportunity has just been offered at a very unexpected price, both financially and personally. She can ghostwrite Trent’s book but at what cost to a heart that remembers the pain caused by their breakup.

I liked Trent and Kate, they are believable characters who have indeed grown up, changed a bit, and perhaps can now find that happiness that eluded them back in college. The journey to rediscovering their love for each other is full of fun moments, times remembering and forgiving, and a trip that will help pull them back in the right direction.

In Other Words, Love drew me in, gave me characters to enjoy and a story to love. The writing is smooth and easy flowing, the plot interesting, and the characters realistic throughout the years together and apart. It’s always a treat for me to see people who fit but not perfect at the time come back together a bit wiser to discover that the fit was just fine all along, it simply wasn’t the right time.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from Hallmark Publishing via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Kate Winslow is a sweet character who lives with her cat, and has a very close relationship with her grandmother. The interactions she has with both of them are sweet and endearing, and it was rather enjoyable to see her grow throughout this novel. She is a ghostwriter struggling to make ends meet, when she has a much needed opportunity come through. The catch: the client is her ex-boyfriend who broke her heart after college graduation fifteen years earlier.
Trent MacMillan grew up in a small town where his parents were small business owners, but Trent had a vision beyond their small town and their simple, local business. And, he has succeeded; he has built an international business for himself that is the epitome of all his beliefs and values in life. He has had quite the success with his outdoor apparel company, yet his work has taken him away from the root of his inspiration for his business. Trent hardly has time to spend outside exploring and being active, and his investment in his work has also brought forth procrastination on writing his novel about his journey of founding his company. Trent is reluctant to heed his assistant’s advice in hiring a ghost writer, but in the end Kate is exactly what he needed in his life.
Kate wants nothing more than to write a novel of her own; to see her name on the cover of one of her books. But, for now, she must take all the business she can to pay the bills and help out her aging grandmother. When Kate and Trent re-connect, there is apprehension from both parties. But, what once was between the two of them has not fully diminished, and through their journey working together it is fun to watch as they re-discover one another at new points in their lives.
It’s amazing what a little time can do; sometimes the right person comes into your life, but the timing isn’t always exact. Kate and Trent’s journey is heartwarming and enjoyable to watch them discover that their predisposed notions that they are not compatible because they are complete opposites are absolutely incorrect. The time that has lapsed between them has allowed them to grow and evolve, and re-discover one another with a fresh outlook and perspective.
If you are looking for a sweet, uplifting love story, then this is the book for you. You will love Shirley Jump’s characters, as well as the ease and flow with which she builds her story.
I received an ARC from Hallmark, but these opinions are purely my own.

Ok, I have to be honest, this is the first Hallmark book that I did not read in an entire day. This one wasn’t as good as all of the others. I liked it, but…maybe it is my state of mind, maybe I was too busy cleaning and scrubbing, who knows?

We begin the book with Kate and her reconstructing memories from her past and how she had always dreamed of being a writer, even before she knew how to write, she dreamt of stories in her head. Kate had gotten to ghost-write an autobiography for an Indy 500 winner. Despite him being a nightmare and demanding revision after revision, she kept with it, despite her wanting to quit. Kate is fortunate, or is she? She runs into a “friend” while in the bookstore who is a best-selling author doing a book signing for her latest book, meaning there were others. Meanwhile, her book that she ghost wrote for is on clearance 40% off. A slap in the face, perhaps?

We then move to Trent, an owner of an outdoor company who now spends most of his life as a desk jockey. His social media seems to show something else, but then again, most social media is smoke and mirrors anyway, isn’t it? Trent’s company is about to go IPO (Initial Public Offering, basically this means the company is about to o public for all those who don’t speak Corporate Jargon) and the bottom line is down because the winter had been abnormally warm and the line of winter gear did not do as well as they would have hoped. Trent has a book deadline quickly approaching. Not only is there a book deadline, but there is book tour scheduled with venues already rented. He is then offered a ghost writer option. He thinks that it is quite ironic since the title of the book, “Be True to Your Nature”.

We are then taken on the journey of the ghost writing of his book and some drama and well some fun. All in all, it was a good book, just took me a minute to get to the good part! I hope you enjoy it!

"In Other Words, Love: A Second Chance Romance from Hallmark Publishing", by author Shirley Jump, is a sweet contemporary love story that proves you can run from love, but you just can't hide--the heart will have its way. As a young girl, Kate Winslow had always imagined her life as a writer, not knowing that in her case, that would mean "ghostwriter". Now, in her late thirties, she had long grown weary of never seeing her own name on the books she wrote, and her finances were also on the wane. An offer of a lucrative new ghostwriting contract will definitely boost her bank account, and she can pay her bills and help out her beloved Grandma Wanda. However, the deal turns out to be a shock to the system when the subject of the book--a successful outdoors apparel and equipment company CEO--is the man who broke her heart, Trent MacMillan. College sweethearts, Kate and Trent had been a true "opposites attract' romance--she was the studious bookworm, and he was the outdoors-loving sports guy. He had graduated first, and on the day of her own graduation, he had devastated her by ending their relationship because they wanted very different futures. Fifteen years later, their first meeting to discuss the book proved that the attraction--and the hurt--was still there. Trent has worked hard over the years--so hard that he no longer has much time for the things that he enjoys most. Kate has labored as a writer, but her dream of becoming a published author--with her own name on the cover--has eluded her. Is there a second chance for these two former college sweethearts, both looking forty in the eye, to finally learn that compromise in matters of the heart means gaining more than you lose? I really enjoyed the characterizations that created for "In Other Words, Love", and I rooted for them to find their happily-ever-after.

I really enjoyed this book for a lot of reasons, but the fact that it was about a writer really struck my fancy. Thank you to Netgalley and Hallmark Publishing for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kate and Trent are exes who find themselves suddenly working together. She’s a ghostwriter and he’s a businessman man, running an outdoor company. He’a promised his publisher a memoir draft but completing the draft is turning out to be a lot more difficult than he thought.

If only writing a book was as easy as hiking a mountain.

I’m sure you see where this story is going. Kate signs on to write Trent’s book for him. It’s a bit of a sticky situation at first. They broke up in college and now it’s fifteen years later. Needless to say, both of them have a different understanding of why the relationship didn’t work out.

I loved reading about Kate’s writing career. It was interesting to learn about ghostwriting. Even though she is a great writer, Kate has some insecurities about writing other people’s books instead of her own.

Meanwhile, her own manuscript is collecting dust in her desk at home.

Trent was a great leading man because even though he was a bit complicated what with dealing with his father’s disappointment with him for not coming home after college to take over the family business, he was realistic and not overly dramatic.

As the story developed I found myself getting attached to the characters. I really enjoyed the side characters of Kate’s grandma Wanda and her cat Charlie.

I love a supportive grandparent in romantic fiction! Haha.

I recommend this book if you like realistic fiction about exes looking into the past and seeing if a future might be possible.

It’s not easy, but it’s certainly true to life.

Sometimes Love needs a second chance because it wasn't ready the first time around...

Second chance romances are a delight to read. If two people are meant to be together, it's Kate and Trent. In college 15 years ago, Kate and Trent were in a relationship that had all the possibilities to go to the next level. But they were both in different mindsets and they could not align. So they went their separate ways.

Kate is smart and savvy but lacks the confidence to make the final leap to put her unfinished novel out into the world. So she settles to become a successful ghostwriter. It is safe and comfortable and pays the bills. She is offered a ghostwriting assignment for the autobiography of a very successful CEO of a multi-million dollar company. She is super excited until she finds out who it is, Trent. Trent who dumped her in college to have adventures around the globe.

When Trent meets and realizes that Kate has been offered the task of doing his autobiography, he is taken aback. Not just with her beauty which is a given, but at how much she has changed since college. He has the dilemma of deciding whether it is a good idea for them to work together given their history. He also realizes he made the worst mistake in his life by letting her slip through his fingers.

I adored watching this couple baby step their way in getting to know each other through fresh eyes. Everyone deserves a chance to make their mistakes right. A true relationship is when two people who are not perfect refuse to give up on each other. A beautiful touching romance on giving a second chance to love again.

In Other Words, Love was meant to be a distraction from everything going on around me, but I found myself identifying with the lead character so much that I'm not entirely sure I escaped anything.

Kate Winslow is a ghostwriter who dreams of seeing her name on the cover of a book she's written. Too bad that's not part of being a ghostwriter, but if she could just finish the novel sitting forlorn on her laptop... (I know how she feels. I need to get my in-progress novels done!).

Her last client was less than stellar to work with leaving her questioning of she wants to do another memoir. Yet, she needs the money and when her agent shares a lucrative deal, Kate accepts. Even though it means working with the very man who broke her heart in college. It's just a job, right? She can do handle it.

Or so she thought.

The more time she spends with Trent, CEO of an outdoor apparel company, the more the feelings start sweeping back in and tugging at her heart. Little does she know that it's mutual. Trent struggles with knowing he let an amazing woman go and finds he's suddenly wanting slightly different things in life. It's been all about his company for so long.

As usual with books like this a hiccup derails their love story when another person butts her snobby nose in where it doesn't belong.

Can Kate finish her novel? Will she finish the book for Trent? Will Trent realize life isn't all about work?

I found a lot of similarities in this book, and it made my heart hurt a bit, but it's still a good read. As usual, if you like Hallmark movies and romances, pickup a copy.

This book takes you on an adventure with Kate and Trent whom dated in college, broke up, and are destined to meet again. Kate is a ghostwriter and Trent owns his own company. They've been apart for 15 years and now their paths will cross in a way they never thought.

Kate started a book in college. She got quite a few chapters done but life happened and she got writers block. She met with an agent who suggested ghostwriting. Kate is one of the best at what she does but takes some criticism from some authors for not writing books with her name on them.

Trent started his own company that creates eco friendly outdoor and hiking. When he was younger he would travel and hike all the time and do anything to be outdoors. Since his company is growing he hasn't been getting out as much to do what he loves. As part of growing his company and going public they think an autobiography would be a great way to get good press.

Trent has been working on his autobiography for a while now and the deadline is coming closer. Unfortunately, Trent's working on the book was just writing odd things down on post it notes and putting them in a box. Trent's PR person hires a ghostwriter to help him get the book done by the deadline.

Trent and Kates world's get turned upside when they find out they might have to work together writing a book. Can they manage to work together to create a successful book? Will they start dating again and fall in love?

This is a great fun, adventurous, and romantic read. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a sweet romance that has some humor and adventure.

Don’t we all love the idea of a second chance romance, also referred to as a reunion romance? Realizing that even though life moves on, we can still hope to rekindle lost love? This sweet and uplifting romance is everything a Hallmark book should be.

The story is set in Seattle and the city and surrounding natural wonders- trails, rivers, mountains, forest- are lushly described. Kate Winslow is our darling heroine. She is a thirty-ish, writer, who lives with her cat and she visits her elderly grandmother almost every day for yummy cookies and a good chat.

Trent, our hero, is a business success story. He left his small-town life after college and started his own eco-friendly sports apparel company that is popping and soon to be a publicly held company. His advisors decided that he should have a memoir of his life published to help with PR. He learns that writing a book is hard work, so his company hires a ghost writer for him. Guess who that is?

Yes, it’s Kate. She’s a successful ghost writer, specializing in memoirs. And she also has a past with Trent. What happens when these two meet again and start working closely together? It’s been fifteen years since they broke up in college. Can this outgoing, adventure loving guy win back his pretty, shy flower? Can he also reconnect with his family?

Well, it is a Hallmark romance. A well-written and charming romance, with some lovely and cute descriptions. Snuggle up and enjoy! Thanks to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for an advace review copy. This is my honest review.

I think I have a new favorite Hallmark book, and Shirley Jump is as fantastic a writer as main protagonist, Kate, is in the book.

Kate is a ghostwriter whose life goes topsy turvy when she receives her next assignment: writing a book for--of all people--her ex-boyfriend, Trent. Trent is a CEO of an outdoor clothing company he started from the ground up, no pun intended. There's also another problem: he forgot about writing said book. Oops!

The high points of the book for me were the characters, the beautiful setting--who else would like to go hiking up Moulton Falls?--and how the relationship between Kate and Trent grew. Second Chance Romances are not only swoon-worthy but also hopeful as readers may hope they too can have a second chance with someone they let get away or broke up with. It doesn't always happen, but Kate and Trent's story makes that scenario. quite possible

Grandma Wanda was another highlight for me due to her wisdom and her ability of relating life to growing plants. Pretty good analogy and quite fitting the outdoorsy theme of the entire book. Trent's family was also another highlight and played a pivotal role in Trent's growth throughout the story. Loretta...ugh, that's all I will say there. Overall, loved it.

Even if you don't enjoy the outdoors but love adventures, second chances at love, and writing (ghostwriting or otherwise), this will be an enjoyable read. Well done to Ms. Jump on this book!

Who does not need a second chance?
New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Shirley Jump presents "In Other Words, Love. A Second Chance Romance from Hallmark Publishing". Kate Winslow works as a ghost writer for others when she runs in her nemesis Loretta Wildwood, a New York Times best-selling author, and has to confess that her books don't carry her name. Trent MacMillian is far too busy to write the manuscript for his book which is overdue. Kate's agent gets her the contract as his ghostwriter but the problem is that he is her former boyfriend. What will happen when they get together? And what will happen to Kate's manuscript that is collecting dust in a drawer? Will Kate and Trent be able to overcome the hurt of their past?
This was the third book by Shirley Jump which I read and I really appreciated it since I enjoy second chance novels. I also appreciated its believable, strong and charming characters. It is a funny, heartwarming story, a clean romance and a relaxing and enjoyable read but also contains an amount of tension in the story. I highly recommend it to all readers who love romances with a wedding topic and who love second chances. Once again, Hallmark Publishing included one of their special recipes, this time the one for Guacamole Grilled Chicken Club sandwich.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

In Other Words, Love by Shirley Jump is such a sweet romance - both in terms of genre and just in general. The second-chance romance is everything you could ever want. Kate is terrified to let herself fall for Trent again. And Trent is just terrified in general.

While Kate and Trent didn't have a massive, horrible, awful breakup, it did leave Kate devastated. I'm not entirely sure how it left Trent. Possibly regretful? I wish I could have gotten a little more into his head about that.

But now they need each other. Kate needs the paycheck from ghostwriting his book. And Trent needs her to ghostwrite the book or his company could be in trouble. So they agree to keep it professional - but we all know how that turns out.

Their path back to each other was scenic and beautiful. Their connection was evident on every page. Both characters had to grow and change. Life threw them both several curveballs, and it only made them seem more real. Sometimes they rolled with the punches, and sometimes they needed some help to get there.

The side characters really stood out in this one. The snarky and unsupportive friend from college. The families that only wanted what was best for both of them. Especially Kate's grandma - she was amazing.

There was more than just a romance here. There was a finding of themselves. A reconnection to their dreams and who they really are. A very well-developed and captivating story.

This one was especially enjoyable.

IN OTHER WORDS, LOVE by Shirley Jump is another romance from Hallmark Publishing.

Kate is a ghostwriter, barely making ends meet. She’s offered a new job, for an amount with a lot of zeroes, to ghostwrite a memoir for a busy CEO. Only the exec turns out to be the college boyfriend who broke her heart.

Trent is a driven man, focused on his business and its upcoming IPO. He’s procrastinated writing that blasted memoir and now the deadline is looming and he doesn’t have enough hours in the day. His staff convinces him to hire a ghostwriter who will sign a non-disclosure agreement, so no one has to know he didn’t write the book himself. It feels dishonest, but he doesn’t have much choice.

Of course, as soon as Kate and Trent meet again there are all kinds of complications, not the least of which is the return of their easy friendship. And all the developing feelings, from each of them.

Kate continues to peel back Trent’s layers as she fleshes out his outline and yellow sticky notes. Trent is amazed as this older Kate turns out to be far more adventurous than he thought fifteen years ago.

There are complications along the way to their Happily-Ever-After, of course, but I wouldn’t dream of spoiling the journey for you.

IN OTHER WORDS, LOVE is a sweet romance that I enjoyed and recommend!

Hallmark always does a good job with providing a cute, clean and sweet romance. This one for me was a nice and easy read - nothing particularly spectacular but not bad either. It was okay. And, hey, we've got lots of time to read at the moment.

With regards to characterisation and the plot - I just didn't really connect with either of the characters. I did like their easy nature together and the references to Trent's family and Kate's writing, but again - 'eh'. It was (spoiler) really touching when Trent re-connected with his family and that was very well written. Kate's ghostwriting was intriguing to me as well, although I did feel as though the conflict that occurs with reference to that ghostwriting could have been expanded upon a touch more.

Don't get me wrong - the writing was clean, not overtly cliched and pretty comfortable to read, but for me - this was just a case of my not connecting with the characters. Their relationship was sweet and full of nostalgia but a little bit more chemistry could have been built up, in my opinion.

Overall - a nice and chilled read - nothing that blew my mind, but still a comfortable and warm romance.
Note: I was very generously gifted an ARC of this novel by the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Ghostwriters have the opportunity to write about the lives of a variety of interesting people but does not have the satisfaction of seeing their names on the cover of the resulting book. It’s a common practice. Katie Winslow has made a career of ghostwriting memoirs for a famous people who either don’t have the time or the skill to write their own. But when her agent gives her the name of the latest celebrity who needs a book written, she’s not sure she wants the job, even if she needs the money. It’s a lot of money and she has a lot of bills, so she agrees to the contract to write the story of her college sweetheart, Trent MacMillan, founder and president of Get Outdoors apparel. What she doesn’t agree to is dealing with her feelings for him.

The author has written a book about writing a book and done a great job of showing how much work is involved, particularly when writing about a real person. The tension between Katie and Trent is at the center of the story, but other characters, particularly Katie’s grandmother and Trent’s father add substance to the story. After reading this book, I know I don’t have what it takes to be a writer, but it was interesting following Katie’s process, particularly while she was dealing with her feelings for Trent.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher and NetGalley, but the opinion is my own.

One of the sweetest romances I have read this year is In Other Words, Love by Shirley Jump. In this story, Kate and Trent get a second chance at love.

Kate and Trent have known each other for a long time but have gone their different ways. Trent has become a founder of a majour outdoor company, and Kate has followed her dream of writing. Except she is ghost writing for others. Kate is hired as Trent’s ghost writer, and they are both surprised when they realize they will be working with the other. The story follows them reconnecting while working on Trent’s book. I found there was more turmoil at the ending due to an outside force, compared to other Hallmark brand novels.

I bonded with the characters easily due to common interests such as writing, books, sea turtles, hiking, and gardening. I wanted to go charge on some adventures with Trent, as well as, curl up with one of Kate’s books. Their families are so sweet and welcoming as well.

If you are looking for a sweet read, perfect for summer, grab a copy of In Other Words, Love. I enjoyed this book so much, I did buy a finished copy for myself. I will be reading more by Shirley Jump in the future!

I received an electronic Advanced Read Copy from Hallmark Publishing through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.

This is a love story of two college sweethearts rekindling their romance! It starts with Trent Macmillan wanting a ghost writer to write his memoir of how he started his multi million dollar company called GOA, which is an outdoor apparel company! He debates about it since the title is Be true to your Nature, but with his company going public they need all the publicity they can get so they talk him into the idea! However, the ghost writer that is chosen is his ex girlfriend from college, Kate Winslow, whom he broke her heart! Neither one of them want to do this together, but he remembers what he was told about the publicity of the company and she needs the money from the deal to help fix her grandmother’s house and her roof on her apartment! I won’t spoil anything, but as they start working there feelings start to blossom again! It was a great book and thank Hallmark Publishing and BookFunnel for their copy to read and review honestly! Of course, I don’t think anything that Hallmark puts out whether it is a movie or book is bad since the company has family centered values, which I love and admire greatly in this modern world!

I enjoyed this “second chance at love” story. I especially liked Kate. She’s a sweet, talented, and funny girl. I loved her devotion to her grandmother, who gives her some wise advice as they do some gardening together. But Kate’s in a place in her life where she feels stuck in her writing career; and her personal life revolves around taking care of her cat. Then she gets the opportunity of a lifetime...and has a tough choice to make.

I loved the sparks and the tension between Trent and Kate as she begins to ghostwrite his autobiography. As they talk about common memories, Trent begins to see his past in a new light and wonders if Kate might have a place in his future. This story is filled with sweet, and sometimes funny, moments as Trent and Kate realize that she’s not only writing Trent’s life story, they are together writing their own new love story. This is a clean, sweet romance that will touch your heart and make you smile.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Hallmark Publishing is a publishing company that I'm starting to lean towards for a good wholesome read. This story was one that captured my interest.

Kate is a writer, but she's a ghostwriter, and has been given a job that she can't refuse. She's always wanted to be a writer of her books, but ended up writing for other people under their names for money. With this new job, it pretty much sets her up financially. There's a problem though, as always, there is a problem. The person with whom she is to ghostwrite for, is an ex-boyfriend who broke up with her many, many years ago.

Trent's a successful entrepreneur of an outdoor clothing company and has been encouraged to write a book. Unfortunately, he procrastinated about it and now Kate has been hired to help him out. Needless to say, I think we can guess what's going to happen here.

Despite knowing that they will probably get together, it's just as much fun reading how they didn't, or did they get together.

Great read and I enjoyed it!

Shirley Jump is an author whose books I have always enjoy reading. In Other Words, Love is no different. The writing flows and carries the reader along as the characters meet again, years after college has ended.

Set in Seattle I could see the area and the surrounding landscape through the eyes of the characters. Speaking of characters, Kate Winslow is a sweetheart and my favorite of the two main ones. Hardworking, good to older family members and smart. Trent is a good guy but he does put his company and his dreams first in his life. As these two are throw back together after fifteen years, perspectives change and so do dreams for the future. Heartwarming, sweet with just enough drama and conflict to keep it interesting. Hallmark would do well to make this book into a movie.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
