Reverberation is the second novel in the breathless Echoes supernatural thriller trilogy. If you like unpredictable plot twists, dark suspense, and fast-paced action, then you’ll love A.M. Caplan’s wild rollercoaster ride.
In my high school English class I was caught with a book behind the book I was supposed to be reading. Detention gave me a chance to finish them both in peace. Eventually I read so many books that they started to come back out.
By way of most of the coasts, I reside in the major metropolis of Sayre, PA with my husband and our cat that sees dead people.
I loved the first book in this series! It was totally unique, interesting, with good character development, and a good pace keeping me on my toes and hooked till the end. The first book had twists, turns, surprises and just when you started to get comfortable, it would swoop you back up and take you in a whole new direction...This book however, dragged on in places for so long in many spots, that it took a great deal of effort to keep myself reading till the end. There were areas that would start to pick up and get interesting, but then it would just flatten out again leaving it feeling more like work than a pleasurable fast paced ride. The characters were interesting, but I found myself not getting enough development of some characters and then too much time spent with others, that you didn't really want to be with all that much. The main draw of the first book was the dynamic between Hannah and Asher, but unfortunately, that is severely lacking in this book. The ending wrapped up interestingly enough to make me want to read book three. So I'm truly hoping the third one is MUCH more like book one than the exhausting bore that this one was.
This story takes on a new type of supernatural creature, I won't get into details to avoid spoilers, but it's a breath of fresh air. I read all kinds of stories and have a fondness for vampire and zombie ones but this is something entirely different and very unique. As soon as I finished the first book I immediately went to the second one and started reading, despite it being way too late on a "school night" (I had to work the next day lol). Great character development and action filled stories. Wish there was more on the origins of the "creatures" but I guess it's not possible. Overall one of the best series I've read this year, if not the best.
The second book in the series is a vast improvement on the first. Lots of action and suspense. There are a couple things that have left me baffled. At the end of the first book, Hannah's house was burned down and she had nothing left, no money or possessions. At the beginning of the second book, she is in a house with a state of the art security system and a whole arsenal. Where and when was all that acquired? She then chooses to leave this safe haven to hide in a tree house in the woods. Huh? Anyway, on to book three.
Book #2...so good! This story captivates me & I feel like I'm right there with them! This one had a bit too much action for me, but I can see why it was necessary for the storyline. I'm invested in these characters & already thinking of how I don't want it to end! Keep 'em coming Caplan!
I really enjoyed this read and am looking forward to the conclusion of the trilogy, wish it was three more books to go but will settle for the one. Great series and would recommend to all!
I really enjoy how well the characters are being revealed in this book. I’m ready to start on the final book. I’m sure it will be as amazing as the first two books.
My only problem is the middle seemed to repeat itself every time new capture or prisoner visits. It certainly should not stop anyone from reading this great story and I am looking forward to book 3.
WOW what a ride this is!! I love this series!!! Hannah and Asher are the bomb!! I can’t say more because I’ll give away too much, but you can’t not read book #2 there’s a huge surprise!!
Just as good as the first book, if not better. I loved the ending, the plot twists, the manipulation tactics and the psycho killers getting what they deserved. This series was definitely worth the 99p on Amazon
Book 2 in this series! There are some twists that made this just as good as the 1st book, ECHOES. I am looking forward to the last book in this series! Thanks
So much intrigue, betrayal and manipulation with these repeating people. Maybe not worrying about staying dead makes it more difficult to be truthful. But Asher and Hannah are great characters.
2.5 stars. Pretty good book. I still want more background and character development from this story, but it was a relatively entertaining read, though not one I would re-read.
