Dating can be tricky, but how hard can it be to find the right guy? Or even just a normal guy?
For Everly Dalton, it's a bit like trying to walk in stilettos - while drunk, blindfolded, and wearing the wrong size shoes. She hasn't exactly been lucky in love. In fact, she just might be cursed.
A guy who only dates lookalikes of his ex? Pass. An alpha-male businessman who bolts in a moment of crisis? No, thanks. A date that turns into the creepiest interview in the history of ever? Where does she find these guys?
Join Everly as she dishes to her friends about the surprising, unpredictable, and sometimes crazy adventure that is modern dating. Will she keep matching with frogs or find her Prince Charming?
Everly Dalton's Dating Disasters originally appeared as six serial episodes in Claire Kingsley's newsletter. The complete series is available here in one volume. Each episode is an account of one of Everly's (typically terrible) dates. This series of short stories takes place before the full-length, stand-alone hot romcom, Faking Ms. Right.
Claire Kingsley is a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling author of sexy, heartfelt contemporary romance, romantic comedies, and small-town romantic suspense. She writes sassy, quirky heroines, swoony heroes who love their women hard, romantic happily ever afters, and all the big feels.
Everly Dalton’s Dating Disasters: Prequel to Faking Ms. Right is a short story describing a series of crazy first date fails by my new favorite heroine, Everly Dalton. This is by Claire Kingsley.
Everly believes in fairy tales, in finding the one, or she’s trying to anyway. But for some reason, she seems to be a magnet for the crazy. But she doesn’t give up and keeps trying to meet her “one.” This little book is a description of six of Everly’s first dates as she describes her experiences to her two best friends, Hazel and Nora.
“How many frogs does a girl have to kiss before she finally finds her prince?”
Everly lives in Seattle, she is a successful executive assistant to a prominent business man, and enjoys hanging out with her two friends. These three love to sit over martinis and share their love lives or lack of with each other.
“Was I one of those women who said she wanted a nice guy, but really wanted a bad boy? Was I doomed to keep dating jerks because they made me tingly between the legs?”
Poor Everly has tried dating apps, meeting men in bars, letting her friend choose her date for her, or any other way of trying to find her prince. In these chapters you will meet Zack, who only dates look-a-likes of his ex, Stephen, who left her high and dry in the face of an emergency, a gay man trying to get over his ex by dating a woman, a gym muscle man, a creepy mama’s boy, and a party animal.
Everly and her friends were so much fun. I loved this little book. It’s only about seventy pages long and will leave you chuckling long after you finish it. I can’t wait for Claire’s book, Faking Ms. Right. Will Everly finally meet her own prince charming? Or is she destined to be a single cat lady for the rest of her life? We will soon find out!
It really can only go up from here for poor Everly Dalton. No one should have to suffer the horrible dates she does. Offers of threesomes, a date with his mother in attendance and ditching her because she's choking, are just a few of the horrors she faced. I shudder even considering being put in those situations.
Very short but still entertaining, I will definitely be going on to see more of Everly's adventures.
3.5 stars . This quickie novella details some of Everly's disastrous dates prior to her romance with Shepherd in the full length novel Faking Ms. Right (totally loved that book, 4.75 stars). This was a fun but not totally nessarily prequel IMO but since it is a freebie I do recommend reading this prior to book one of the Dirty Martini Running Club series. It also introduces the reader to Nora and Hazel, Everly's BFFs and I am assuming the intended heroines of any further books in this series.
Overall 4.5 stars Performance 4.5 stars Story 5 stars
What a hilarious and fun little prequel novella to Faking Ms. Right! Everly Dalton's Dating Disasters was originally sent in the author's newletter as a six part serial. It is broken down into little episodes featuring the terrible dates poor Everly has had to endure in the search for love. The listener/reader is introduced to the Dirty Martini Running Club, which includes Everly and her BFF's, Nora and Hazel. Each episode/date was wonderfully unique and had me laughing out loud. The gym bro episode was especially hilarious! I really enjoyed Emma Wilder's narration and her comedic timing was spot on. Sometimes the characters sounded a little too similar, but overall, this was a quick listen that has me excited to start Faking Ms. Right!
Re-read 2020: I love the hell out of this book. Now that I know Miles Cooper is the MMC in another series I’m also DYING to get to that series too. These disasters still make me laugh and are a nice little break when I just can’t deal with heavy things. Can’t wait to re-read Faking Ms. Right! ———
Hilarious, amazing, and I'm so, so glad I read it. Really worth the read if you've read the first book in the series. The first book does reference these dating disasters, but you can read this one second. Reading it first would still makes sense, but you might not be connected to the characters.
If you haven't read them, these are fun, bite-sized stories chronicling Everly's terrible dating luck. They take place before Faking Ms. Right begins (and psst, there might be a preview of the first chapter of Faking Ms. Right in there). You don't have to read them before you read Faking Ms. Right, but they're a lot of fun.
Ara kitabı, novellayı her neyse kitaba eklemişler çok şaşkınım o yüzden 1 vereceğim gghfjkgjg böyle şeylere alışık değiliz yeni baskıda ekleyip niye mağdur etmediniz bizi 😂
me reí bastante con todo lo que le pasa a la pobre everly en el departamento de las citas, y creo que es un buen libro para introducir a los personajes de esta serie. rápido, divertido y fácil de leer
Funny and lighthearted, Everly shares her dating disasters with her besties while she tries to find THE one. This is a great quick read of episodes 1-6 all grouped together so you can sit down and have a few laughs for a while.
Poor Everly seems to have the worst luck dating. This charming novella will have you in stitches as the dating fiascos she endures are poignantly told. Every chapter except the last, Everly meets with her two besties the next day or so after each first date and relays every excruciating and humiliating detail. From texting selfies to ex- girlfriends to choking to bringing Mom along on the date, she has all the craziest experiences you can imagine. I couldn't stop laughing at poor Everly and feeling bad for her at the same time!
This short and sweet story will bring a smile to your face and Claire's latest book, Faking Mr Right, is coming out which this is a prequel to and I am so excited to see if Everly ever has a good first date! So read this, it's free, and snatch up Faking Mr Right!!
Loved every second of this cute little novella! Everly is open to dating and this takes us through a few of her first dates. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Text "borrowed" from Claire's Blog Post: If you haven't read them, these are fun, bite-sized stories chronicling Everly's terrible dating luck. They take place before Faking Ms. Right begins (and psst, there might be a preview of the first chapter of Faking Ms. Right in there). You don't have to read them before you read Faking Ms. Right, but they're a lot of fun.
This is a collection of short stories based on Everly’s bad luck with dates. My understanding is that this sets up the book Faking Ms Right. We meet her 2 best friends here and learn of her horrible luck with several dates. This was a good fast read with some funny moments. I’m ready for the main book after this and hoping she has much better luck.
It's funny (ha ha) but it's just a funny prequel - it's not a romance. This book is a few vignettes to show the MCs horrible dating life BEFORE she gets into a fake relationship with her book in the first book in this series.
Omg! I loved this. Why did it take me so long to read this!!!!! Poorly Everly those dates really were the stuff of nightmares! I loved how she bumped into Cooper! He really does give the best advice.
Great Story & Audible Listen🎧 Enjoyable & Entertaining!
Everly Dalton's Dating Disasters A Faking Ms. Right Prequel By: Claire Kingsley Narrated by: Emma Wilder
This is a fun and enjoyable book, it is well written and well told with interesting storylines that will captivate you and put a smile on your face. Claire Kingsley has a way with words and she fit a lot of story into her novella. I like how each chapter was broken into episodes, each episode is details of Everly Dalton’s Disastrous Dates and some of them are real doozies. Everly is a great character, she has a wonderful sense of humor and ability to just go with it. She has a great group of friends too. This is a quick read and/or audible listen, once you start it you will not want to put it down, you have to know what happens next. Claire Kingsley, thank you for this great book, I am looking forward to what is in store for Everly in “Faking Ms. Right”.
I listened to the Audible edition, Emma Wilder is a fabulous narrator and voice artist. She brings the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart she puts into her work as she projects the characters emotions into her performance. Her portrayal of Everly and the secondary characters was spot on, they sounded as you pictured them to be. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧

A short prequel to Faking Ms. Right, detailing Everly's disastrous dates. The stories are funny and I loved hanging out with Everly, Hazel, and Nora again. This definitely put me in the mood for Nora's book, which will be released soon. I'm so excited!
Awwwww! This Prequel was AWESOME! I laughed soooo much and instantly fell in love with Everly and her besties! OMG! I can't believe it's even possible to have so many horrible dates! Poor Everly! But I'm sure she'll find Mr. Right one day! ;) Honestly I can't wait to read Fakins Ms. Right! This was the first time I read something from Claire Kingsley and I've to say that I really like her writing style! I'm definitely gonna check out her other books as well!
This is the prequel of “faking ms.right” . An hilarious story of a sweet girl who keeps stumbling into a series of dates that keep getting more and more disastrous. Is it her fault or is it just karma ? Unfortunately she keeps asking herself this question right after ending dates that will never have obviously a progression. A fun read with a sweet girl and her funny gang.
