Soumya has cleared the decks of the world of analogue human resources and pulled us kicking and screaming into the world of digital human resources. In the book he talks about HR in the past, why and how a digital evolution is taking place. He then explains the disruptive factors and why we need to take them into account. He then talks about, what as business leaders, we need to do to survive in this digital employee world.

Soumya ends the book talking about what of the biggest issues for business today which is sustainability. He quite rightly points out that it is sustainability that is now one of the factors, including purpose on why somebody will work at a company. No longer is it about how many days holiday I will get.

I hated this book. I had to read it for a leadership institute. I find HR to be similar to the legal profession in that it enforces rules, except in HR, they have a choice to change them, whereas lawyers have to get laws changed through elected officials. All of this is to say: this book talks about how to help employees change to fit the employers' desires but doesn't acknowledge the employee's humanity. Again, I hated it, and I'm hating this part of my institute! LOL
