Two years ago Garison Fitch traveled through time and rewrote history. Now, time itself is unraveling and Garison's trips through time seem to be the cause. Garison must go back in time once again and keep himself from making the original trip that started the problem. But he can't use his time machine to go back. How does one sew up a rip in time?
I purchased this set of books in 2011 and am finally getting around to reading them. I have to say, I’ve read two now, and I’m really enjoying them.
These are time travel novels, but somehow they don’t really feel like science fiction, even though it was through science (a machine created by Garison Fitch) that the original traveler went back in time, some 250 years in the past. This felt more like a fascinating story of an accident that had unforeseen consequences which Garison is trying to solve.
In this novel Garison begins to see evidence that his time-travel has caused a rift, sort of a rip in time. Suddenly past years and events are bleeding into the present. But to fix it means he has to change everything all over again.
I don’t want to go into detail about the plot, but this one was even better than the first book, which was quite good as well.
Brilliant story with lots of twists!Well thought through and wonderfully entertaining. The only thing I ask myself is,would I have been prepared to believe if someone close to me told me such a yarn? The cliffhanger at the end small but poignant makes the reader just want to read on,immediately.I have already started book three!
This is my personal favorite of the three Garison Fitch books. I was very happy with the development of the characters and the sense of confusion I created both for them and the reader(s). Hopefully, I allayed that confusion by the end.
