They think capturing me will help them win the war.
But they just made the biggest mistake of their lives.

As a summer fae princess and chief enforcer for the Mage Police, it’s my job to stop shifters dead in their tracks—emphasis on the dead part. And if one criminal slips through my fingers while I bag another, well, that’s not a good enough reason to demote me—in my opinion.

Determined to prove myself to the mages, I go after the worst criminal out there: The Shadow. But when that mission gets blown all to hell, I find myself a captive of three shifter warlords.

Being their prisoner shows me all about the darker side of the war. But the thing is… I’m not afraid of the dark.

Or them.

I... I kind of hate everything about this.

I get it. This book is about the kinky dom/sub sex, with a brat bottom MC and her three dom daddies. Everything else is just a backdrop to get her laid. I'm not kink-shaming. But everything else in this book is just so underdeveloped and tiresome.

The protagonist is infuriating, to the point where I couldn't be bothered to care about her or her relationships. She's bratty and horny 24/7, even when she really shouldn't be, because she's just been kidnapped by some of the police's most wanted. All of the male love interests (because this is a reverse harem) are bland and/or just horny on main. There's no plot. Scratch that, there's some semblance of a plot centered around the main character learning about bigotry and how she has participated in the systems of oppression that mistreat the shifters, but this gets entirely shafted by the fact that she's really thirsty for shifter sex.

Idk, something about police brutality and the dehumanization of oppressed races (does it really have to be the people who can literally turn into animals?) being a backdrop for the white protagonist's fantasies about being ravaged by her Latino-coded captors feels tone-deaf. But maybe that's just me.

It also doesn't help that the protagonist herself is a cop who 1.) hates wearing bodycams because she wants to be able to beat criminals to a pulp without fear of legal repercussions 2.) manipulates situations so that she can argue self-defense as a justification for murder 3.) bypasses police protocol because she wants a promotion at work 4.) became a cop in the first place because she wants to be able to beat people up for a living.

It's 2021. I'm tired.

Wow! This is an awesome paranormal/ urban fantasy / reverse harem romance. It’s well written with a fantastic storyline and an awesome kick ass sassy female mc. It’s exciting, it’s steamy and it’s one of those books that will have you hook, line and sinker by the end of the first chapter! A fantastic collaboration!

Loved this book! Smart and sassy heroine. Intrigue and suspense! Having read Elle's previous series (and loved it!) This one didn't disappoint. When your opening chapter includes batman references you know your on a good thing!

It's steamy but (unlike some in this trope) had an engaging storyline and you actually felt invested in the characters!

Grab a vino and delve in!

I loved this read it had it all...a feisty heroine, hot heros, angst, suspense and action. This book does end in a cliffhanger so be prepared. I can't wait to see were this story goes.

Rocky start for me, the way the main h talked about herself was a bit weird. Something didn't jive so it was hard to get into but either I got used to it or the writing smoothed out a bit but by the end not too bad. There are shifters, fae and mages but we don't get much back story or understand why there is such conflict between the groups. I actually found the men more dimensional than her - will read book 2

Holy wow! This read was awesome. Aubrey is the chief of police for the mage side in the middle of an ongoing war between mages and shifters. Basically she's no wilting flower or damsel in distress. Nope she's a fierce, headstrong, take no prisoners kind of bad fae and I loved her. When she gets kidnapped by public enemy #1 things get good. There's Drake, said enemy, a jerk, a heartless alpha or so it seems. Bodie, the assassin and an alpha in his own right. Easton, the middle man between the other two, sweet and kind. Easton is my favorite if I'm going to be 100% real and his scenes broke me and my heart quite a bit. He's just so lovable you have to root for him you know? Although Bodie...well who doesn't want a possessive assassin who would kill anyone for you! I mean that's pretty hot. Usually, Drake would be my guy - the angry, standoffish jack*** but there's so much more to him than meets the eye. Honestly I just want to unravel the sexy, protective man and figure him out...so wait, where was I??? Oh yeah hoping to get kidnapped by said shifter mafia...I mean...*clears throat*...

Throughout the story things keep going wrong and you start to see that there are 2 sides to this war and Aubrey's eyes are slowly opening to this reality. There are several funny moments and quite a few adrenaline pumping ones. The steam and pull Aubrey has between her and Bodie and her and Easton requires a fan and ice water. I can't wait to see how the relationships between the characters develop because that ending had me pumping my fist and screaming Yes! in pure joy.

I knew I was going to be in for a wild ride with this book as soon as Elle Middaugh and Ann Denton announced that they were co-writing this book, and I was not disappointed at all!!

Just a little background info... the Fae and Shifters pretty much hate each other.... that being said....Aubry is not only the Princess of the Fae but also the Chief Enforcer in the mage police department. Or at least she was, until Drake, Bodie, and Easton kidnap her. Aubry puts up a fight though and doesn't go easily. That fight between them was probably one of my favorite parts of the book.

Anyways, a lot of stuff happens and Aubry has to come to terms with the fact that she is mated to Bodie as well as the fact that Triton, her long time best friend and also councilman, has been setting fires to lure out Drake. Not to mention that her allegiance to the Fae just might not be the right side after all in this fight.

Who knows what's going to happen next though once she learns what Drake did to her father and after Easton and her initiated a mate bond between them as well. One thing is for sure though.... the next book is bound to get very, very interesting! I can't wait for it!

This book hooked me from the beginning and didn't let go. Aubry maybe a princess, but she is definitely not a wilting flower. Her life changes forever after what she thought was one of her biggest achievements at work, things are not always what they seem.
This story will draw you in and won't let you go. I enjoyed it and can't wait for more

It was simply amazing. There is something going on on every page of this book. The swirl of emotions. The action. The fight. Revealing bit by bit the truths. There are secrets there. And lots of danger. This world is not easy. Something just sits not right. The plot is very interesting, with twists and turns. Just perfect.
Aubry is strong heroine, sassy, smart and unique. One that you just need to love. Her three captors are so different from one another that you question yourself how did they finish to be like brothers. Each have his own quirks and way to speak. The characters are really wonderful and make you completely pinning for them. Even side characters are perfectly described and inserted into the story.
Despite everything that has happen to Aubry those three guys, those that whole Council was after from years, feels right to her. Some stories just not add up. Stockholm syndrome or real mate, it’s up to her to find out. And once needed she make this decision. Like a champ.
It was enthralling to read. My eyes was glued to my tablet screen till the very last page. Can’t wait to read more. There is so much more in this book, which I will not tell you, you need to read it yourself

I freaking loved this book!! I fell in love with Aubrey. She is tough, and can hold her own in a fight. However, as you read the story you wonder who is good and evil. What is right and wrong? I was not sure if we were going to go with the stockholm syndrome or what else was going on. However, I can say that is not what happen. Will Aubrey start to see the other side of the story. I say that because she was raised and taught something different and seems to be blind as to what is really going on. You have Drake, Bodie and Easton. What is their deal? Will they tell their side of the story. What is it that they are feeling. Drake? He is the one I wonder about because of what happens towards the end is going to be a game changer. I mean besides Easton's revelation. How will Bodie handle all this? Can all of them change their views. Only time will tell and I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

Aubry is the Chief Officer in Los Angeles to track and kill shifters who break the rules. But when she stops The Shadows, the most powerful shifter, from stealing a magic stone he wants revenge. He and his two friends kidnap her with the plan to ransom her for the magic stone, but when things don't go as planned, they keep her with them.

At times, Aubry pissed me off. She was so stubborn to admit what she felt and she wasn't willing to see how things really were from a different perspective. The guys, Drake, Bodie and Easton at the beginning behave like a*****e but then they get to know Aubry and things slowly start to change. The book ends with a cliffhanger, so be prepared to dive right into the next book when it is out.

I kindly received an ARC from the author, but I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Wow was this book good!!! The story was so captivating. Heh see what I did there? But for reals this book stole my attention from the start and kept me turning pages until I reached the end, and even then I kept trying to flip to the next page. I can't wait for book two!

There were so many laugh out loud moments and fantastic highlight worthy lines. I even learned a new word that I can't wait to use as an insult.

The characters in the book have many layers and as you descover them you can't help but get even further hooked in the storyline. The plot is unique and had several unpredictable twists.

At one point in the book I had my heart ripped out, stomped on, and put completely back together in ONE chapter!

Bravo ladies! You make quite the dynamic duo and I can't wait for more.

This book is a page-turner from start to finish! It's got action, a sassy heroine with a filthy mouth, and enough steam to fill every sauna ever built. Plus a dash of Stockholm Syndrome, dino dildos, and pop culture puns.

It's definitely a can't miss read for all lovers of paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and reverse harem. So...charge your kindle, grab your favorite drink, and plop down in your comfy chair, cuz you'll want to devour this treasure in one go!

What an amazing book! Elle and Ann have really set the bar high with part 1 of this series!! I love our FMC. Shes snarky, independent yet totally insecure in her own ways, and just rocks in all the best ways possible. Her love for subs and doms in her personal life really threw another twist in the story, and it makes her more complex. The dynamics between her and her 3 kidnappers had me laughing at times, and totally shipping her with each of those 3 different men. I loved watching her grow out of her narrow minded world, seeing things for how they really were towards the end, and choosing a side she may have never chosen before. The ending left me speechless, and I cannot wait to see what happens next. I know with Elle and Ann at the helm, its going to be epic!!

This book was so incredibly well written. I’ve been a fan of both Ann Denton and Elle Middaugh’s works individually but when put together these two weave pure magic. There’s not another way of describing it.
Fae Captive was an enthralling story that had me hooked from the very beginning, with a combination of a BA character, hot shifters you just want to lick and claim, steamy scenes worthy of cold showers and amazingly well written action scenes that allowed me to see and feel like I was a part of the story.
My mind was simply blown by this book, and I cannot WAIT for the next one because that ending was just. Wow.
I’m so glad the next book is right around the corner!

4.5 rounded up

From the blurb and cover, I thought this would be just an ok read - but it shocked the heck out of me by being a GREAT READ! Honestly, there is so much going on, but it glows naturally from one scene to the next and still allows the characters some room to grow. I’m a little unclear about the world building, but that seems almost a back ground aspect to the drama that infuses the main narrative. It’s exciting, hot and surprisingly emotional.

Fae Captive absolutely blew past my expectations. With fantastic world building in which I could picture everything so well and a harem of men to swoon over, I knew I was in trouble. I'm not sure two books will be enough! Fae Captive was flawlessly written, with a fantastic flow, and I really just need more. Immediately.

Wow, firstly can I just say that these authors are a match made in heaven.
Fae captive is the first book in this new series and I fell in love with it as soon as I started. It's a different take on fae and paranormal that had me instantly taking notice. I loved the 3 men in this story, they have depth and the whole alpha males down to a science. Aubrey was a fantastic heroine and I loved her tenacity and determination. The whole story had unpredictable scenes and action that'll have you gripping your book, eyes glued to the pages just needing to find out what happens next. I cannot wait for book 2! I need more shifter males and I need it now!

Holy macaroli!!!! Easton is by far my absolute favorite!! Dont get me wrong, all the guys are great (even butt munching Drake as I just know he will come around and has already started to)!! But this book has action, steam, conflicting emotions, yearning, fighting, shock factors and sooooo much more. You're gonna be like "wait, what the heck?!" There was this need to keep reading so I understood. It had my emotions and starred in my dreams. I definitely cannot wait for the next one! I can just imagine the fight that is bound to happen after they finish their current battle!

Omg!! I couldn’t put this book down. It only was it written by one of my favorite authors, she partnered with someone that I have started to read all of her books. This book is amazing. So much action and drama and steamy moments. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen, BAM something completely different happens. I couldn’t get enough of this and I need that next book now!!
