Charity Ferrell is a Wall Street Journal, USA Today, #1 Amazon, and #1 Apple bestselling author.
She resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. When she’s not writing, she’s hanging out with her dog, on a Starbucks run, shopping online, or spending time with her family.
Daisy is from Indiana. She survived a school shooting but unfortunately, Tanner, the love of her life, did not.
She feels broken and is depressed and hates going to school. She doesn't know what to do without Tanner in her life.
Her parents decide to send her to live with her aunt, Jamie, in Georgia. She needs to try and start over without everyone looking at her waiting for her to crumble again....
She gets a great welcoming to the neighborhood by seeing the boy next door having sex.
And then he catches her watching!
She winds up striking up a friendship with neighbor, Keegan, the hottest guy in school. Keegan is broken too, but in a different way. He deals with his issues by basically being a manwhore...
With a hot guy around, there has to be an evil bitch lurking somewhere. That would be our lovely, Piper.
Piper is in love with Keegan and jealous of his relationship with Daisy. How far will Piper go to try and keep them from being together?
While forming a great friendship, they help heal each other while also falling in love.
Honestly, after reading a bunch of crappy books I didn't like and failed to even waste my time reviewing on GR, I didn't have much hope for this one. Thankfully, it wound up being very enjoyable with the right amount of realistic story line, funny parts, drama, and steam.
I loved this story so much!! Right from the first chapter! Thank you Charity for giving me an ARC of your beautiful book..
The first chapter is very powerful and throws the reader right in the heartache! The hardest part of the story and the beggining of Daisy's new life.. Daisy has just lost the most important person of her life and keeps at bay everyone who tries to help her..
Finally after months of mourning her parents decide that enough is enough and they sent her to live with her aunt and her family.. There she will built a new life which is not easy for her and meet Keegan, the sexy badboy next door..
Keegan goes through women like crazy! He never had a girlfriend and he is the hottest guy around so getting what he wants is not difficult at all.. Daisy hates that and also is not in the right place to have a new relationship or to trust someone with her heart..
But Keegan is not the manwhore and asshole everyone knows! He has many issues on his own with an absent father and an awful mother he takes care of himself for too long without having someone to call his..
The Verdict: The book is great, i loved the story, i cried a little and had so much fun with the girls.. Also the book leaves us with a very inspiring message, that no matter what happens we have to find the strenght to move on if not for us then for the people we love.. And that the ones we lose will always be with us..
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK - I liked Cora and Gabby so much and i want them to have their books.. - Dual POV. - The memories she recounts with Tanner.. Oh God i cried.. - O.M.G. Keegan's mum is a except from a dreadful mother.. - Tessa and Daisy are great friends.. I loved them together.. And so funny! They bring the girly tone into the book..:D - The writing is good.. - It needs some editing probably because it was an ARC.. - Lane and Cora's relationship is really incredible.. - Piper.. Well there is always a villain.. - I get why Daisy feels guilty but she is wrong.. - Her aunt's family is great.. - Dawson and Tessa should be the next story.. - Dawson is a great friend.. - Her aunt's story was so similar.. It was very sentimental.. - What happened to Tanner! So dramatic.. I also wanted even more of their stories.. - Keegan is so protective of Daisy..

Beneath Our Faults reminds us all that life is so unpredictable and that we must cherish our loved ones before they are gone. In this book, we are introduced to Daisy, who struggles in coming to terms and reality with the loss of her first love and boyfriend, Tanner. Both Daisy and Tanner were so madly in love with each other till a tragic event occurred at school.
Losing Tanner was the hardest thing Daisy had to go through. Her ways of coping of the loss was to shut everyone out including her best friend, Tessa, who happens to be the twin of Tanner. Daisy was alive and well but she was just existing and mourning the death of Tanner. As concerned parents, they decided a change of scenery might help Daisy to move on with her life. Little did Daisy know, she will meet Keegan, the boy next door living next to her aunt and uncle's house. Like Daisy, Keegan is a little lost. Keegan was the popular kid at school who practically had girls lining up. He was the guy who doesn't do relationships and just had casual sex. As Daisy and Keegan begins a friendship, feelings and attractions are felt. Daisy begins an internal battle if its right to have these feelings for Keegan whereas he begins to question if he is right for Daisy. Can these two finally get a shot of happily ever after or are they too emotionally damaged?
Overall, Beneath Our Faults read more of young adult coming age story than new adult. The book started off with great but as I read further along I couldn't really relate to Keegan and Daisy's relationship. I wished that Daisy was more forthcoming about her past with Tanner to Keegan and her new friends. I would have love to get glimpses of Daisy's past with Tanner and understand how much she loved him and that's why she closed off some of her friends. As for the secondary characters, I did enjoy Lane, Cora, and Gabby. I felt those three added more substance to the story. As for the whole Piper scenario, I felt it was a little too much and kinda felt bad for the girl. I didn't like the way Keegan treated her. I'm sorry but even though Piper is catty, the girl didn't need to be talked to the way Keegan treated her. As for the ending, it felt a little too rushed.
4 STARS Beneath Our Faults BY by Charity Ferrell Genre: Young Adult (17+)- Contemporary romance
I have enjoyed this story quite a lot. It started with a very sad theme but lucky it took a more cheerful turn. I loved the growth and change within the characters, although the time span was not that "far" it was kind of limited but alot happened, and for that i was happy.
The only thing i did not enjoy per say was the character's age! The characters and the things they did, spoke, thought < it was more mature! i would have LOVED if the setting were in college, i would have enjoyed it even more. But nonetheless, i enjoyed the novel, it was a sweet, intense. Love was a huge subject but it wasn't all what this book as about. It was more about moving on, accepting YOURself, loving YOURself before letting someone else to love you. It was about accepting the past and deal with it because it doesn't define you.
The characters were very lovable, weather they were main characters or just flat character. I would for sure read future books about them_IF THERE WAS! but as i said earlier i would have appreciated if the setting was different (high school(first part). College( the rest)
I love Charity Ferrell’s Twisted Fox series but I never really tried any of her other books, so I decided to give this one a shot. This book deals with the fallout of a high school shooting - a very serious topic, but I really wish the setting was different. The characters read way too immature for me. Both the heroine and hero are dealing with very heavy things and I just couldn’t connect with them, so unfortunately this was a DNF.
The words "love" isn't superlative enough to be honest.
From the moment I started this book, the emotions flooded me and I found myself tearing up. The only reason I wasn't BAWLING my eyes out was being I was at work and I didn't want to look like a crazed woman crying like a baby xD
Everything about this book was real, and emotion. I connected with Daisy easily, and then when Keegan came in. It was just amazing.
I regret nothing when it comes to reading this book! :D I'm glad I bumped into it and went on impulse mode because this book had me hooked.
Keegan is amazing. He saved Daisy in more ways than one. And she is awesome for finally allowing someone to save her.
I also love the whole gang. They brought this book full circle! Gabby brings a shit load of giggled and I don't mind reading a story for her. Especially if it involves her falling for Dalton :D.
Anyways, I don't wanna get into the loves of this book, because I'm getting teary eyed thinking about it - especially the strong parts/emotional parts of this book.
It's the first book I've read by this author and I know it won't be the last <3
I don't know if I can properly articulate my issues with this story. I guess I felt like the relationship between Daisy and Keegan is just not an epic love story. Their feelings seemed to only scratch the surface: no truly deep emotions involved. I see them lasting thru high school but breaking up in a year or two, and that's not the kind of love story people want to read.
What a sad but at the same time beautiful story. The prologue just breaks your heart and hooks you right in. I know in America they have a lot of school shootings, we hear about them all the time on the news. In Australia it is against the law to own a gun so fortunately we don't experience these kinds of shocking and sad incidents in our schools. I thought Charity writing about loosing Tanner in that sort of a way was a great way of putting the reader in that situation. I was hooked from the start. I loved the two different POV's from Keegan and Daisy. I loved it that the relationship was slow and progressed as slow as it should have. A great story.
This damn girl, she was sinking herself into my veins, through my blood and straight into my heart
I loooovveeeddd the last paragraph of the book. So fricken beautiful!!!
ARC provided by author in exchange of honest review. Thank you Charity
It was an ok read, more coming of age than YA. A lot of the plots you need to assume, not as descripted as I prefer in a read. Characters development could of been more. I did like the leads & supporting charaters. again just my opinion
I received this book as an ARC from the author and I freaking LOVED it!!! Once I started this book I could NOT put it down!!
Daisy and Tanner have just started their senior year and have their whole life planned out with each other. Graduate high school, get married, have kids....live happily ever after. Suddenly, it is all ripped away by one of the worst tragedy's imaginable. Daisy is crushed, she can't move on, how will she do it without him? She closes herself off from everyone including her best friend and Tanner's twin sister Tessa. 5 months after losing Tanner, her parents have tried everything to help her with no success so they decide to send Daisy to Atlanta to stay with her aunt. She leaves her home in Indiana without a word to anyone, including Tessa. Her first night there she goes out on the balcony to relax a little and gets the surprise of her life when she meets her new sexy neighbor Keegan (HOLLLY SWOOOONN)
Keegan has slept with so many girls even he can't tell you how many. He also doesn't do relationships and he makes sure he is up front about that fact before hooking up with anyone. Seeing that beautiful girl on his neighbors balcony has him curious and he must know more about her. Will Daisy be able to change Keegan's bad boy ways?
The next morning while heading out to go to school Keegan offers to give Daisy a ride. This will be the start of something great. I loved the friendship that bloomed between Keegan and Daisy. There was so many moments that had me laughing my butt off at the two of them. Keegan is so sweet and patient with Daisy, he melts my heart!!
Will Keegan be able to break the walls that Daisy has built inside herself and help her heal? Will she allow Keegan into her heart and love again? I can't keep going on about this book without giving away any spoilers so I will just say you have GOT to read this book!!! I am recommending it to everyone. I am still on such a huge book hangover from it. The only thing that could have made this book better for me was an epilogue but that is only to get a glimpse in the future to see what Daisy is up to.
I loved the dual POV and I loved the secondary characters in this book, well except for Piper and I'm sure you'll feel the same but you have to have at least one bad girl right? What are you waiting for.....Go one click this book NOW!!! :)
Starts off with such a sad storyline. My heart broke for Daisy and Tanner. No one should ever have to experience that. It ends on a beautiful note with Daisy and Keegan.
Keegan is the "bad boy" next door turned good guy for Daisy. He's there for her in ways she didn't realize she needed someone to be. He helps her heal, and he helps her see that life can still be full of color, and he brings her back to life. He's sweet and caring, playful, and patient. Is he perfect? No. But he is perfectly imperfect for Daisy.
Daisy is grieving the tragic loss of her boyfriend after a shooting. She's devastated (with good reason) and refusing to let herself see the good in life because she believes she'd be betraying Tanner. Her aunt and Keegan show her that it's okay to keep living and to love again.
Also, I absolutely love Lane! He's fantastic! Piper can go away at any time. Gabby and Cora are awesome, too! Sophia is a sweetheart!
Oh my stars! I am not sure how I have never read this book before because it was amazing. Once I started reading I couldn’t stop! It was heartbreaking and raw but also absolutely beautiful!
Daisy had been through the unthinkable and was having a hard time getting on with life. Her parents made the decision to send her to live with her aunt hoping she would be able to heal. Being far away from home started to help, but so did an unlikely friend.
Keegan did things his way. He enjoyed partying and sleeping around. He definitely was not ready for Daisy to come crashing into his life. The more time he spent with her, the more he craved her but neither one of them was ready for love, or so they thought.
So many emotions! My heart broke for her. I am so glad she got a second chance at love because she deserved it. I was not ready to say goodbye to them and I hope I get to see them again in the future!
The prologue for this story broke my heart... I was hooked. This book started with a tragedy that io fed the lives dramatically for all involved. What they thought would be their forever wasn’t. It reminds us that life is unpredictable and that we can rise up and move forward if we just accept what has happened can’t be changed and that we do deserve to live our lives and be happy... doesn’t mean we have forgotten. This story had potential but I didn’t feel it delved deeply enough into the characters as Charitys books usually do. I enjoyed the book, just wish I could have connected to the characters more.
I was given an ARC but voluntarily chose to review
What a beautiful story about finding love after heartbreaking loss. This book was so poignant, and you really felt everything Daisy was going through. These two form an unlikely bond that was very beautiful to read. I loved that Keegan was able to help Daisy through her issues and see that she deserved happiness. A beautiful, beautiful story that just tugs at every heartstring!
This is more of a high school romance so this is not my normal read but I found the story to be very enjoyable. Daisy and Tanner had everything ahead of them until a shooter came to school and took him and 6 of her fellow classmates. Everything that she planned is gone so to help her cope, her parents sent her to live with family out of state. While there she was able to grieve her loss and learn to live again thanks to her new hot neighbor, Keegan. Great read.
4.5 stars * ARC given by the author in exchange for an honest review*
First of all this is a book about high-schoolers, so please keep that in mind. I have to point out that even though the characters are mostly high school students, the situations, intensity and events aren't childish. The author touched upon a few subjects that while they make for engaging, tear-jerking books, do happen in real life and need to be dealt with in different ways.
Daisy is a dark-haired beauty who loses her forever boyfriend, Tanner in a school shooting. The actual shooting scene is in the book, so take note of that if that is a trigger for you, although its not gory or super-graphic. She deals with a heavy depression and withdrawal from life, so much so that she just stops doing everything, even going to school. Daisy moves to Georgia with her aunt, where she meets her neighbor Keegan, the school player. Keegan is amazingly hot, wanted by every girl and has had a tough childhood being alone with a absentee mother.
This book I find could be extremely helpful to any person that feels stuck because of certain situations in their lives, has lost a loved one and not only that, but the whole putting-life-back-together business. It touches not only on grieving, but moving on. On letting go of guilt, things left undone or unsaid and allowing yourself to move on. The raw emotions constantly present in the writing, while still managing to somehow make it light and full of banter is stunning. The relationship between Keegan and Daisy, and how they heal themselves and each other is beautiful. Yes, there are moments of immaturity, but keep in mind they're high-school characters, so it fits the story. Each character in this book has so much depth and definition, you feel like you know them. I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author.
Daisy Mara is a senior in high school that has everything planned out. She is in love with her long-term boyfriend, Tanner. They have planned their lives together, until one day the unthinkable happens. A peer brings a gun to school and kills 7 people, including Tanner. Daisy feels as though her happy, planned out life is over!
Daisy has a hard time with losing her boyfriend, so her parents send her to live with her Aunt in the south. She will finish out high school here, before starting college. Daisy isn't thrilled about this idea. She also decides to banish all love relationships from her soul so she can never feel that same hurt again. That is... until she meets Keegan Montgomery.
Keegan Montgomery is the partying type who never gets serious with girls. He knows he's attractive and can get whatever he wants from girls. He makes a choice to not get into relationships, because of his own issues. That is, until Daisy comes into his life like a tornado and changes his outlook on life.
This is the first book by Charity Ferrell. I was completely hooked from the first sentence of this book! It took me back to a time in my own life of lost love. It was so amazingly written that you will find yourself ordering dinner for your family because you just can't put it down long enough to actually cook dinner. Daisy and Keegan's relationship is simply beautiful and it just blew my mind.
This book will have you laughing and crying... it's just that good!
This book was really good and I read it in one sitting. Daisy had a really good life - she had two parents that were still married and loved one another, her boyfriend and her bestfriend were twins that she had known she was born, and things were pretty good. Things change pretty quickly - in the blink of an eye Daisy lost her plans and her love. Survivors guilt and having to face the idea that she would never see the person she loved had Daisy in hiding. Her parents couldn't take it anymore so they send her to Atlanta to stay with her Aunt and their family. Her new neighbor is Keegan Montgomery, the school's major player. Daisy sees with her own eyes what Keegan likes to do most. He's had a tough life, his "father" never wanted him and his mother doesn't have a maternal bone in her body. He's been left to take care of himself and do what he wants for his whole life.
Sometimes people come into our lives when you need them most. This is a story of two people that are different but find a way to mean so much to one another.

5- Absolutely breathtaking, exciting, and never a dull moment. LOVED IT!
This debut novel by Charity was amazing. you can feel the raw emotions in this book, you feel like you are in the shoes of the heroine and the hero. They take you on such a high that you don't want to come down from.
It's such a refreshing read that I could hardly put it down. You fall for the bad boy Keegan. You wanted to strangle Piper, You wanted to comfort Daisy. It's one of the best coming of age books I've read since reading The fault in our stars.
I see really good things for this new author and I will certainly will be looking for new books by her.
I highly recommend this book to those who love young adult/new adult genre. Also this book hand some LMFAO moments which had me laughing for 10 minutes straight.
The first chapter of this book ripped my heart out stomped on it then threw it away. I was heartbroken and thought how could something that started out so sad be sooo good in the end.
I finished this book from cover to cover in one sitting. I did get up to shower and the whole time I was doing that I was thinking about this book and what was going to happen next.
You definitely feel the angst and tragedy in this book. You feel a part of the book and you feel as they are feeling. Daisy has had to overcome so much in her 17 years that no one her age should ever have to endure. Keegan is a product of parents who neglected him and allowed him to raise himself.
Daisy was witty and funny and had something snappy and smart to everyone. I loved her character and how she never backed down and gave everyone a piece of her mind.
I really enjoyed this story. I was not sure exactly what to expect when I started this one. I was really glad I read this.
Daisy suffers from an awful tragedy in high school and moves to live with her aunt and uncle to help escape her sadness. Her life will never be the same after meeting her new, sexy, player of neighbor Keegan.
These two find a unique friendship that helps to heal them both.
Me encantó!!!!
This started really strong, but then it fizzled quickly. It got boring. Same old thing over and over. Sometimes I felt like Daisy was too dramatic and I am not sure if I liked her or not. After 25%, nothing really happens.
This is not an epic love story. It was missing that something that you feel when you read a great love story.
