Risk is a stand alone addition to The Driven World, by Harlow Layne.
Callum Crew is a champion Formula One race car driver. He’s at the top of his game. He’s driven, confident and focused which forces him to separate himself from everyone else. But when something happens to break his confidence, he knows that if he wants to continue racing, he needs help. So the owner of his team hires him a therapist.
Aspen Belle is good at what she does. But she wasn’t prepared for the gorgeous Callum when he walked into her office. He was completely dedicated to her help but he wanted immediate results, something that just isn’t possible. His bosses answer, hire her for the remainder of the racing season to travel with Callum and be there for his continued recovery.
“You are quickly becoming my everything, and someday we’ll be able to share it with the world.”
The attraction between Aspen and Callum is immediate, and Callum does not hold back on the flirting. But she is his doctor. They have to remain professional or she could lose her license. As they travel from country to country for races, Callum introduces her to a world that amazes her. They become friends and soon, they just can’t fight it any longer and they become more.

This was a sexy, sweet romance and I enjoyed it so much. These two were so good together. They were the missing pieces of each other’s lives that they didn’t even know they needed. I definitely need to check out more books in this world.

Callum is a FORMULA 1 race car driver, not just a driver but a TOP one. He is at the top of his life, living the way he always dreamed of. But one accident on the track left him scarred for life.
He survived the incident but it did take a toll on him. Here, enters our Star therapist Aspen...
I could feel their chemistry from their first meeting...but due to the fear of losing her job, she ignores her attraction and pushes him back, when he consistently flirts with her.
They both try to tackle his fear on the track and somehow fall in love and find solace in each other...Will they be able to tackle the pressure which comes from a doctor-patient relationship or will they lose everything?
This was my first ever read by Harlow Rayne and I loved it so damned much...Her writing style, the way she portrayed her characters, the plot with twists and turns... there are more twists here than on a Driven race track. One more thing, Callum is so hot...like look at the cover, that race car driver definitely is worth holding your breath for.
Overall, a definite light romance read with steam hot action between the sheets and nail-biting drama. A Forbidden romance to the Finest.

I always love books written by this author as I love the way that she writes. This book is part of the Driven World Series and its a real forbidden doctor/ patient romance that I enjoyed reading.
Callum is a famous race car driver and it seems he has it all. He travels all over the world with his job and when something happens on the track he is most determined to get back to his old self no matter what it takes. He's very strong minded and has a lot of will power but when it comes to her, his therapist all the rules are broken.
Aspen is a doctor and is the one that is asked to step in and help Callum with what he is going through. She takes her job very seriously and really enjoys what she does. She has had things tough in her life too and when she sees him and they work together she too can feel the sparks flying around them completely.
The way that this author has written these characters makes the reader connect with them brilliantly. They have awesome chemistry together and the connection they have is great, the passion between them both is so hot and I loved reading about them. They are both in each others minds and are both meant to be and in love seeing the journey that they go on. This book is a fast read that you will love and I couldn't put it down. The words flow through the pages and once you pick up a book by this author you wont be able to put it down. I look forward to reading more books from this world and more books in the future from this author.

The only thing that threw me off with this story is that is just wasn’t the edgy that I was expecting. The cover and the blurb are selling a forbidden romance and although, yes, doctor patient relationships are forbidden, that’s not the forbidden I was expecting. Wow, that was a mouthful! But hopefully it says what I want it to say. Other than that tiny miniscule aspect, I loved this story! I loved how the relationship progressed. It read very realistic. The story was very fun to read, especially Callum’s overtures. It’s a light read, very flirtatious with tons of spark!

Risk by Harlow Layne is an all-new novel that is part of K. Bromberg’s Driven world. The story is a forbidden romance between a therapist and her patient. I know what you’re thinking, “wow that might cross the line there!” I can tell you that Harlow Layne does this forbidden romance so well! These characters feel a pull towards each other that they just can’t seem to fight no matter how hard they try.
Callum is a world-famous formula one race car driver. He travels all over the world and is perfectly happy to do so. Aspen is a therapist in Spain. She followed a love there that didn’t last but her love for the city and her patients did. She is tasked with helping Callum through a racing hard patch. Callum knows he will do whatever it takes to get back to his old self, and Aspen is the lady who’s going to help him. Sparks fly but what happens first is a sincere friendship. I think that’s what I loved so much about this story. The friendship that blossoms into more than they can stop.
If you love K. Bromberg’s Driven world then you will likely love this fresh new story, however, if you have never read the Driven books, you will still love this story! Layne does a fantastic job of giving you a fresh story mixed in an existing world. There is just enough racing to make it exciting and all the love and steam you can handle.

He experiences a traumatic event that lands him in the office of a Dr. Belle. Dr. Belle (aka Aspen) is was hired to help Cal through the after affects of his traumatic event.
Speeding up to about 100 mph Aspen is traveling with Cal around the word as his saving grace during his races. She sees it as a doctor and patient relationship. However, Cal sees it as so much more and is trying his hardest to change her mind. Doing tourist things together starts to slowly bring down her walls to the possibility of more.
Reaching the max of 200 mph has me holding on to my seat. You transported on a roller coaster of emotions. These raw emotions lead you on a journey to an intense passion that develops between these two has you wanting more. Aspen and Cal deserve each other in more ways than one.

Aspen and Callum connection and chemistry together was a a slow burn steamy hot. This relationship is forbidden I like how harlow wrote these two characters the emotions is real and the story plot unfolds good I liked the book. I voluntarily review this book for my honest opinion

Risk is a part of the Driven World series and it was a great addition. Callum and Aspen were such a great couple. Callum, a Formula One driver gets caught up in an accident on the track and ends up injured and this causes him to start to have panic attacks when he gets behind the wheel of the car. Aspen is the therapist who was brought in to help him. It started out as a simple doctor-patient relationship but the more they are together, the more the chemistry and attraction between them intensified. Will they be able to fight the attraction since being together would be forbidden or will they follow their hearts? A great read that will have you falling in love with the characters and the story. A fast paced read that will pull you in from page one. You won’t be disappointed when you pick up this book.

I love my visits into The Driven World, I love catching up with old favourites as well as meeting new characters who all have a part to play in this world, and for me Risk is a great addition to this series.
Formula One driver Callum Crew needs a therapist to help him get back behind the wheel of his racing car and that’s where he meets Aspen Bell, he knows from the moment he meets her that he wants more than a doctor/patient relationship but will she be prepared to cross that line and risk her career for what could be just a fling.....
This is one of those reads that draws you in and captivates you from the first page, the chemistry is intense , the attraction is instant, the characters are easy to relate to and I loved everything about this book so all that’s left for me to say is one click this gem of a read.

5 SPEEDING STARS!! I read through this story so fast....I finished in one sitting. Callum and Aspen had chemistry that will light your kindles up and have you not wanting to put it down. As always this authors gives us all the feels, with connections to the characters. You must read this book.

Good...but could have been better
I absolutely love the Driven series (having read them multiple times) so I was excited to read one of these books set in the same world but unfortunately this one fell short for me. I didn’t particularly like either character apart or together except when they were in the bedroom. The steamy parts were very well written and my favourite parts of the story.
Other than that after a really strong beginning there was nothing much that happened for this story at all. It was very predictable and felt a bit rushed when it could have been so much more. I felt a lot was told to the reader about the H and h relationship and I didn’t feel the connection between them. If more was shown and not told this would have been a fantastic story...instead of just a good quick one.

What a wild ride, literally. I wasn’t sure at first where this story was going or who the love interest was. But it suddenly became clear and boom did I love it.
Callum is a professional racer who has an unfortunate crash, leaving him in an utter state of panic. He can’t stop or get himself out of it. So the head of his racing team decides to find him a therapist to work with in order to get over his fears. Enter Aspen Belle, a woman broken herself but who happens to love her job as a therapist and is darn good at it.
The chemistry these two have flew amazingly off the pages. However, they can’t be together because of Doctor/Patient confidentiality. Can Cal control his need to want Doc or his lust for her only have to do with the fact that she happens to be the one that makes him feel all better! You must read to find out!!!
This book was literally a wild ride. It was fun, exciting and so swoony. You aren’t sure where it is going to go and if they could get together. This is absolute MUST read!!! I love Harlow and everything she writes but this is her best story yet. It kept me absolutely engaged from the first sentence. Defiantly read this, you will be so happy you did.

I am ashamed to admit I have never read a Driven book till now, but this book makes me want to go back and read the rest. Risk is a heartwarming, steamy romance that will keep you wanting more long after its finished.
Callum is definitely the boy you never take home to your mama but as you get to know him you know he has a heart of gold. You feel his pain from the get go you are with him every step of the way you make the journey with him. Aspen is the girl you want to be she wants to help those that can't help themselves. You feel her compassion and her willingness to go the extra mile for those she cares about.
Risk by Harlow Layne is a book any romance reader worth their salt should read. It isn't just a romance it deals with the dangers of feeling helpless and you don't know how to deal with it and how people come through for you in the end. I highly recommend this book even if you are just looking for a bit of fun.

Risk was AMAZING! Harlow has out done herself again and I just keep falling more and more in love with her characters and the stories she writes. It is amazing to watch how these characters meet to how they end up being together, and it is no different in Risk.
The story behind Callum and Aspen's love story is amazing to watch evolve and grow. They only ever met due to unseen circumstances that changes the life of Callum. Without the help of Aspen then he would have lost his career and his dreams. Aspen has a heart of gold but also is a very independent and strong willed female.
Highly recommend to anyone and everyone to read this!!!

This was my first Harlow Layne book, and I have to say if you are looking for a fast-pace read, no angst, and a healthy dose of spice, this book is for you.
In Risk, a crossover from Kristy Bromberg's Driven series, Callum suffers from panic attacks after getting in a wreck during a race. Aspen is the psychologist hired by Colton Donovan's racing company to help him get back in the car. Their romance is forbidden as it could cost Aspen her medical license. Together they push the boundaries, test their limits, and in the end, lay their love on the line for a life they never knew existed before they found themselves thrust together in the most unlikely of situations.

I love forbidden romance and this story, set in the Driven world, checked all the boxes!! Aspen and Callum have loads of chemistry and the steamy tension between these two is off the charts. This was one wild ride so buckle-up and prepare for all the feels!

From the second I started this delicious doctor/patient contemporary romance I was hooked. Captivated on the edge of my seat, I was intrigued by every single thing about Callum and Aspen and their perfectly slow burn journey of forbidden love. This story was just the right blend of high octane storyline, steamy forbidden encounters, and exotic and beautiful locations.
You have to “Be Fast To Be On Top”
Callum Crew is the fantastically hot and talented Formula One Racer. And up until now, he is not only fast but he is on top. He was at the top of everything. The sexy Texan with the southern drawl that would make any girl swoon. He was nothing if not focused, that's what made him the absolute best of the best. All that changed in the blink of an eye! Aspen Belle is also the best in her field. When she is called upon to help Callum when he is having some trouble that puts his racing career in jeopardy, they are instantly drawn to each other.
Everything about them is forbidden. To ignore the rules would be reckless. She is his doctor, his therapist. But the more time they spend together the heat between them runs hotter than the inside of the fire suit Cal wears when he’s racing. This book has so much goodness in it. It’s face paced even though the love is what I would categorize as a slow burn romance. What I also love is it’s also a forbidden romance and also kind of a friend’s to lovers too. So really it’s like multiple genres going on here, and everything is better in multiples. I love that you get this amazing push and pull from these two that try like hell to fight their feelings for a minute. So you know when they do finally give in and throw down between the sheets it's gonna be explosive and So.Freakin.Hot. oh and boy it is too.
Harlow writes super steamy love scenes and the most loveable heroes. They are the perfect blend of “Alphamen” that is a total dirty alpha in the bedroom and then like a sweetheart to his momma, and will open the car door for you. Be prepared to devour this book quickly because you just can’t put it down. You just have to know what’s about to happen. Add Risk to your TBR today!! ALL THE STARS!!

Forbidden romance is one of my favorite tropes, and set in the high octane world of F1? Even better! The chemistry these two share is as hot as the track Callum races on, and I loved every page of it, especially the end. This is a very, very noteworthy addition to Bromberg's Driven World.

Risk by Harlow Layne is an all-new novel that is part of K. Bromberg’s Driven world. The story is a forbidden romance between a therapist and her patient.
I really loved this book, it was fast passed, steamy, quick read, emotional romance that I gubbled up in one sitting late into the night. This was so yummy.
Callum is a Formula One race car driver for the past few years, he is at the top of his game.
Aspen is a therapist living in Barcelona. Something happens to Callum and he needs emergency therapy, and she's the best at her kraft.
They hire her to help him.... there's just one tiny issue, they are both instantly attracted to each other, sparks fly! She knows very well that they can not have any type of relationship except a professional one...but he makes all her lady parts tingle....he is her patient that's not good!
They fight their attraction because the one stipulation by the boss is " No" hooking up or personal relationship or she's out!!! Can they keep their hands and lips to them selves for the rest of the racing season?
Aspen:
“All I can offer you is my friendship, Cal,” she mumbled. “I hope you can accept that.” I didn’t want to be put in the friend zone, but I’d take what I could get . Maybe once the season was over and I was no longer her patient, she’d give me a chance. “I like you calling me that.” My hand swiped down and massaged along her neck. “I’ll call you whatever you want if you keep doing whatever you’re doing.” She let out a big yawn. No matter what she said, I knew she wouldn’t call me the one thing I wanted. Boyfriend"

“Yesterday I couldn’t even get inside the car. I started to , and then it hit me. My entire body seemed to crank up ten degrees , which might as well have felt like a hundred in my suit. When my heart started to race, and it sounded like I was in a tunnel, I knew I couldn’t race. If I had got in my car, I would have lost control in the first few minutes of being out on the track and then most definitely died or killed someone else.” Having a panic attack while driving wasn’t safe, but it was a whole other level when going over two hundred miles per hour. I was glad he understood how serious it was."
This story does end on a HEA, it is a standalone, with no cliffhangers. If you like Formula One race car romance, with steam and a Forbidden romance them I highly recommend this book for You!

The moment Callum and Aspen met there was a connection. Aspen was careful with this, she knew she couldn’t take the chance of losing her license by having a fling with a patient. Callum understood, however, that didn’t stop the flirting and all the sweet things Callum did for Aspen. The tension just continued to build and eventually everything comes to a head….
I loved the forbidden aspect of their relationship. When Aspen finally gave in to all of Callum’s flirting, they did have to keep everything a secret. I also loved their friendship. It was fun and light, full of flirting from both sides. Add in the travelling to many gorgeous locations and spending time together, it showed a different side to Callum.

4 Star Review Risk (The Driven World) by Harlow Layne
I am loving the variety of authors that are writing in K.Bromberg’s The Driven World. Risk by Harlow Layne was a great addition to the series. I have only read a couple of books by Ms.Layne but what I have read I have enjoyed.
This is a forbidden doctor/patient story and one that ticked the boxes for me. This is Formula One driver Callum Crew and his therapist Aspen Bell’s story. The chemistry between them is magnetic and even knowing that lines should not be crossed the pull it too much for either to ignore.
I found it easy to relate to both Callum and Aspen and it is obvious that the connection between them is strong. Is is strong enough for Aspen to risk her career?

This was very cute love story. They had a chemistry from the beginning. She fought it, till she could. He needed her as much as he needed to race. It was nicely built contemporary romance, which made me turning pages like a mad woman. Characters felt real and I got attached to them. The story line is good as well. To be short, one more great story by ne of my favorite authors.

Aspen and Callum drive right into my heart and stole it. I went In blind as I haven’t read any of the Driven books before, but Harlow didn’t disappoint in making me want to read the original ones. This books was amazing and I’ll read anything she puts out. Thank you Harlow for introducing me to a whole new series.

Callum’s skill on the track is unquestionable but a life altering event has affected him very deeply and he is trying to recapture the man he used to be. He is open to any suggestion and that includes travelling with a therapist.
Aspen is a therapist who is committed to her clients and wants to not only help but give realistic expectations as well. Travelling with Callum may not be her norm of doing business, but she wants to ensure that he has every tool possible to heal.
They may inspire feelings in each other that neither expected or wanted and even though they know that crossing that line could have dire consequences it might just be a risk worth taking.
Although they may not have met under ideal circumstances there is no denying that they are meant to be together.
Aspen is a therapist who is committed to her clients and wants to not only help but give realistic expectations as well. Travelling with Callum may not be her norm of doing business, but she wants to ensure that he has every tool possible to heal.
