She’s a former mafia princess. He’s been hired to track down her family secret…
After escaping my life as a Russian mafia princess, I’ve got everything I could possibly want—other than a family.
So when the Christmas concert at the seniors’ residence where I volunteer is at risk of being canceled, I have a perfect solution. My kindergarten students can perform for them. Because who doesn’t love cute singing kids?
Well, it would be cute if I knew what the heck I was doing. On top of that, one of my grandfather’s enemies has a different future in mind for me, which is putting a major damper on the festivities.
Fortunately, Landon Reed, the sexy substitute teacher, might be the one person who can help me with both situations…
**** My mission? Pretend to be a kindergarten teacher and become Chloe’s boyfriend so my team can track down her mafia cousin, the new crime boss who’s gone into hiding.
Except, my time in the Navy SEALs didn’t prepare me enough for this. For one, the last thing Chloe wants is a boyfriend. And what the heck do I know about teaching kids and putting on Christmas concerts?
But when her grandfather’s enemy attempts to kidnap her, the truth becomes a tangled mess—taking my heart along with it.
Because if there’s one thing Chloe doesn’t want, it’s to fall down the rabbit hole of her past. And that’s exactly where we’re heading.

4 stars for Spying under the Mistletoe! You can NEVER go wrong with a book by Stina! She always brings just the right amount of angst, heat, awesome characters and stories that are just what I needed when I pick up one of her titles. P.s. What a Teaser for Adam's book! I wonder whats he doing in Vegas? *Wink* P.p.s. So excited for Keira's (Chloe's bestie) Story!
This book was very easy to read. There is suspense and heat, as well as some truths to be found that caused drama and heartache. The plot is well written and flows really well so I couldn’t wait to get back to it to find out how it all ended.
Landon’s mission is to get Chloe to be his girlfriend to find the whereabouts of her cousin, a Mafia boss. The truth is bent and their feelings are under fire with the heat of their passion, despite both of them adamant that they were not looking for love.
Chloe is a real darling, she is a pure angel, so caring and exactly as you’d expect a kindergarten teacher who volunteers at a retirement home. I did feel for Chloe as she seemed to be the only one to not know the real reason for the mission, which causes the understandable hurt, but I love the way everything works out. Turns out Chloe is a closet badass! Go, Chloe!
I just loved the characters in this group of ex SEALS and all the supporting characters just add to the charm. The hilarity of the elderly characters just made me laugh out loud; I loved them. I can’t wait to read Adam’s story next.
4.5🌟 As always Stina delivers a book that not only had me swooning but kept me on the edge of my seat. After reading While You Were Spying earlier in the year I was eagerly awaiting the sequel with Landon's story and boy was it worth the wait. This book had a little bit of everything. Romance (obviously), steam, drama, suspense, comedy and a cute pup 😍 I'm a sucker for pets in books. Landon is sent to pose as a school teacher to get close to Chloe who is unknowingly a target of the Russian Mafia. Ex Navy SEAL Landon is very focused on the task at hand he has no intentions of letting things with Chloe escalate past the job especially after the past traumas he's experienced. Chloe also has been left with some romance scars of her own after having everyone she loves leave her she has definitely got her walls well and truly up. But it wouldn't be a Stina cracker if they didn't tear down each others walls brick by glorious brick now would it. I adored the whole background story with with school and the drama with the Mafia kept me gripped I was constantly thinking with everything Chloe did that someone was going to get her. It was great to see characters from the previous book in this story. Isabelle's Gran and her gang are great. I'm so looking forward to Adams story next.
Chloe was born and raised in a lifestyle that she wanted no part of so at her first opportunity she left it behind. She has created a new life for herself where she works at a job she loves, is surrounded by a great group of friends and is always willing to keep others.
Landon career as a Navy SEAL has transitioned into working for a security company. His latest assignment is two-fold and that is to not only keep Chloe safe but to bring down her family as well. He thought pretending to be a teacher would be his biggest challenge, but he is about to find out that denying his feelings for Chloe may be even more difficult.
Humorous interactions, intrigue and not only are Chloe and Landon great characters but there is a great group of secondary characters as well.
Chloe is an ex-mafia princess and has been living her life as a kindergarten teacher unaware of anything happening with her family. Landon and his team are determined to track down Nickoli and put him behind bars. To do this, Landon goes undercover as a substitute kindergarten teacher to get close to Chloe, become her boyfriend and figure out where her cousin is hiding. Chloe is almost kidnapped and the partial truth comes out so Landon and Chloe agree to fake their relationship to pull the person who wants to kill her out of hiding. The only thing is, it also pulls their hearts out of hiding also.
Spying Under the Mistletoe is a military and mafia romantic comedy that will have you laughing out loud and put you in the holiday spirit. Stina Lindenblatt knows how to write lighthearted, steamy romantic comedies. I loved how both Landon and Chloe attempted to fight their want of a relationship even though everything kept bringing them together. Every time they went to the seniors center I was laughing out loud. The kindergarten kids reminded me of my own boys and their antics. I am looking forward to more books from Stina.
"I wouldn't be surprised if tiny polar bears are playing tag in my gut." - Chloe, Spying Under the Mistletoe by Stina Lindenblatt
In the second installment in the Love Undercover series, we are along with Chloe and Landon for quite the wild ride. The blurb pretty much says it all, however Stina Lindenblatt did a nice job with the details.
Chloe is a woman with a past to put it lightly. She's decided to leave it all behind, but with a past like hers that isn't possible. As a unsuspecting kindergarten teacher, Chole stays busy working and volunteering at a local senior center. Sure she wants more, however with her life she knows it isn't always possible. Then Landon shows up to teach the kindergarten class next door and changes everything.
Landon also has quite the past, although his is more emotional and while he is doing a job, he quickly realizes it can turn into more, too bad it will be built on a foundation of lies. Landon wasn't expecting to fall for the beautiful teacher, only to protect her. His job just got a lot harder.
One thing I like in my reads is angst, waiting for that other shoe to drop if you will. Landon is stringing Chole along from the get go, so you know it's only going to get worse before it gets better. Throw in the ghosts of thier pasts and the situation unfolding around them and you've got quite the read on your hands.
The book was well written and had everything going on in it but the kitchen sink if you will to keep things moving along nicely. This is the second book in the series and the only one I've read, but didn't feel lost while reading it, however think I would have appreciated the characters more if I did.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a very fun and interesting story and I would even say very original. I don't think I have ever seen a mafia princess as a Kindergarten teacher before but it worked wonderfully in this story.
This is Landon's story and we get to see Jayden, Ava and Isabelle and even her grandmother in this story. I loved getting glimpses of characters from other stories in the current story.
Chloe is a sweetheart. She has had a really horrible life but she escaped and is now a kindergarten teacher. But her cousin Nickolai is in trouble and the FBI believe that he will contact her and there also might be a hit on her. Enter Landon, who the FBI has hired to protect her and find Nickolai. He is going undercover as teacher too.
And this story has lots of mafia types running around. Some danger and lots of laughs along the way as Landon and Chloe discover the magic of the Christmas season.
This story really impressed me at how original a storyline it was. I loved the hijinks and danger that the author puts Chloe in and I loved how she manages to save herself. However its a bit far fetched. So bring your holiday spirit and enjoy this Christmas time romance.
The sweet but sometimes sad stories between Landon and Chloe are amazing and add the craziness of the concert and Whiskey make for a wonderful and happy ending.
Landon's heartbreak over losing Sarah made me cry and Chloe feeling unlovable is wrenching.
Again Josephine and her gang add wick humour to the book.
Can't wait for Adam's book. Maybe with a certain PTA mom????? lol
5 Star Review Spying Under The Mistletoe (Love Undercover #2) by Stina Lindenblatt
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series and I loved this one. This is Chloe and Landon’s story and what an entertaining one it was.
Not only was their plenty of action, suspense and some danger, but it was also steamy and at times witty. Landon is working undercover as a teacher at the school where ex Russian mafia princess Chloe works. This ex Navy Seal is so far out of his element that there were numerous laugh out loud moments as he struggled to deal with his students.
The story was well written, flowed well and was fast paced. It drew me in and held me captive from the first to the last page. What will happen when feelings become involved despite both Chloe and Landon asserting that they are not looking for a relationship? I loved Chloe, she is such a kind and caring woman and I worried how devastated she would be when she learns of Landon’s real identity and his mission. The supporting characters add an additional layer to my enjoyment and the elderly people at the nursing home where Chloe volunteers had me in stitches. I am excited to read the next book in the series.
I received an arc from the author for my honest review.
This book was amazing! It constantly kept me wanting more. There's suspense but also amazing chemistry between Landon and Chloe. And whiskey was so adorable! Read this book to find out more!
Landon is a man of many talents. He’s not looking for love. Chloe is a strong compassionate woman. She has a lot of baggage. They make for one interesting complicated couple. They both fight there feelings till they just can’t anymore. Loved the banter between them. There chemistry is off the charts.
Landon was so adorable and out of his element in teaching kindergarten. I kept seeing the movie kindergarten cop in my mind. Chloe was great with her 'grandfathers' and how she handled them. Landon and Chloe fake relationship rules were so made to be broken. Whiskey was to die for cuteness. Past couples and secondary characters made some good cameos and made the story flow even better.
Chloe and Landon meet under extraordinary circumstances. See she thinks he is a substitute teacher filling in for her partner teacher. Little does she know, Landon is sent to protect her from the awful family she escaped from. Who happen to also want to attempt to try to kill her. However, Chloe seems to not care as she finally has the family she has always wanted, even if she created them all herself, by escaping her awful mafia family. The family she has created include her amazing friends, amazing students she lives teaching and adores. And her absolute favorites are senior citizens who treat her like a grand child. She knows them from the senior center she volunteers at weekly.
Life is good for Chloe. Her past was so awful, she needed to live a better life. Though she left her cousin who also happened to be her best friend behind and her mother, she knew she couldn’t stay with her awful grandfather and the bad person he truly was. Fast forward, she is once again confronted Landon hired to protect her from her past. Landon convinces her to be in a fake relationship but she worries for her heart. All the men her life have hurt her or let her down. But with this relationship fake and Landon’s constant protection, nothing could go wrong, right?!
This was a wild fun ride of a read. As a huge Stina Lindenblatt fan, I knew the romance and swoon would be there, but the suspense and great mystery was a fun addition to this amazing book. This is an absolute must read. Bonus points for the cute dog that Landon finds who ends up being an essential cuteness part of this story. If you love swoony romances and a little mystery tale on the side you will absolutely love this book!
A mafia Princess who walked away from her family, Chloe is now a kindergarten teacher. She loves her job, she loves volunteering at a senior center. She has no time for men or dating. Her life is full. She doesn’t know that she has a contract on her. In comes, the substitute kindergarten teacher, sexy Landon Reed, who is there to protect her. They are together a lot because he’s a fake boyfriend. They both have baggage. They have chemistry. It’s off the charts. Will they find out who put a contract on her? Will Landon keep her safe? Will she find out that he lies to her, even if it’s to protect her? Will they walk away when it’s over or will the fake boyfriend turn into something else? Stina always brings it.
This is the second book in the Love Undercover series. I would highly recommend reading the first book (because it was just as good as this one) but it’s not necessary to follow along with Landon and Chloe’s story. Stina Lindenblatt does it again! I absolutely loved Landon and Chloe! Right off the bat you’ll realize there will be some drama and excitement. I mean, what would you expect from an ex mafia princess and an undercover security agent. Definitely 5 stars!!
This is a fun story with romance and intrigue. I love this series and always enjoy seeing past characters, especially the older ones.☺ They're always good for a chuckle. Whiskey is a great addition. I'm anxious to find out what happens next. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
If you are like me and love reading Christmas novels, then Spying Under the Mistletoe by Stina Lindenblatt needs to be added to your reading list before the fat man can say ho, ho, ho! I loved this book, grab your copy to see why I did.
It’s the perfect way to kick off my seasonal reading and had the added bonus of being about a character I was hoping would get a heroine who would stand toe to toe with him and make him work for what he wants.
Boy did Chloe do just that with Landon and it was an absolute pleasure to read and fall in love with their unconventional love story. Not to mention fall for a little scene stealer in a wayward pup called Whiskey.
If you are a fan of this author, you will see familiar faces who only add to the story, especially a certain actress and her friends who I would love to have as family. But this said, it can totally be read as a stand-alone read.
I can’t wait for the next story in this series and who am I kidding, anything from this author. Do yourself a favour and grab this book, you won’t be sorry.
Landon Reed is on a mission to find a mafia boss and he's going to do that by getting close to the mafia princess who has walked away from her family and is living the quiet life as a kindergarten teacher. There's a contract on her life, and she's likely to expose her cousin Nikolai Orlov, who both sides are looking for. Landon's plan is to get close and date her while he's teaching the other kindergarten class.
I'll admit I had a hard time seeing Landon undercover as a teacher of small children, but he manages to make it believable. It's a good thing he has Chloe to help him because things do get tense as the story unfolds and Chloe's family gets involved with what is happening.
Starting as work colleagues and with some help from a rescued puppy, Landon and Chloe find they have a spark together, and after revealing their past hurts, become even closer. Both are on the way to falling hard for each other when Landon has to reveal what he's doing and things just take off from there.
I really like this series. It's got a great mix of romance, humor and action. While this one was a little more serious than the first book in the series, there is still a very nice level of all of these things.
This was a light and easy book, there’s suspense, comedy and the most important: romance! I enjoyed the characters especially their chemistry and how the relationship developed. It was great to see how the rest of the couples are doing and I can’t wait for Adams book!
I really enjoyed book one in this series and was so excited to be jumping straight into Spying Under the Mistletoe, I wasn’t disappointed, this story was everything I expected and so much more. In this instalment we get Landon and Chloe’s story and just like the previous book there is the perfect mix of love, intrigue and suspense. Landon is undercover as a teacher at the school where ex Russian mafia princess Chloe also works and the fun starts right here with Landon trying to get his head around the students he is meant to be teaching. Landon’s mission is to get Chloe to fall for him so he can get knowledge on her family but what happens when real feelings come into play and will Chloe forgive him when she finds out he isn’t the man he is portraying........ I loved Chloe, she is kind and caring in fact she is everything you would expect in a kindergarten teacher, Landon is a swoon worthy ex seal who gives us some real laugh out loud moments as he try’s to deal with his students, the writing is strong and the plot is believable and I can’t wait for book 3 in this fun, entertaining series.
This is easily a weekend read. It was quick & enjoyable. There are, at times, some suspense, intrigue and of course - plenty of heat.
Chloe is a firecracker and Landon is a man on mission - not to fail at any cost. However, a room full of five year old intimate's him. That was hilarious to witness! Of course, there is the mafia family (which is the purpose of Landon's mission), painful truths that come to light (causing heartache for our dear Chloe), and of all of it happens while these two are falling for one another - which is the last thing that either one wants - while planning a talent show for a seniors home.
The enjoyed the plot and I couldn’t wait to get back to it to find out how it all ended (all this while trying to work from home as well as take care of a dog). This cast of characters as well as the secondary/supporting characters only added to my enjoyment. The group of elderly characters just made me spit out my morning coffee daily (so much so, I had to re-read passages to make sure I had read it right!).
Can't wait for the next installment in this series!
“You’re welcome,” he replies, voice low and rough, the sound igniting mini fireworks between my legs. Damn, the man’s dangerous. “Are you free after this for our second date?”
“First date.”
He laughs under his breath. “All right, first date, if believing that helps you sleep better at night.”
“First date…and only date,” I remind him, hoping I don’t regret agreeing to it. In the world I left behind, when a man performed a favor, it always came at a cost.
A steep cost.
Like in The Little Mermaid, when Ariel gave up her voice to be with the prince. My grandfather was no different from Ursula, who demanded Ariel’s voice in payment. I mean, sure, he didn’t turn anyone into seaweed, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone actually did go swimming with the fishes and never resurfaced after asking for a favor and failing to pay the price.
Granted, all Landon is expecting is a date. But I hope I’m not making a mistake by letting a man help me, something I haven’t done since escaping my family.
OMG What a Superb read, I Loved it. It was a pleasure to read with a very addictive storyline placed in the back drop of Christmas . Landon Reed is undercover, spying on a gorgeous ex Mafia princess Chloe, now a kindergarten teacher. He thought it would be an easy assignment get the info he needs and get on with his life. But he quickly discovered he was way out of his depth,no way did he expect the attraction and sizzling chemistry between him and Chloe...and how hard it would be pretending to be something he is not. Stina Lindenblatt has written such a romantically delightful story and I couldn't get enough . Fun ,smart , cute ,intense , and sexy in all the right places,Spying Under the mistletoe took me on an entertaining suspenseful yuletide ride and charmed me from the beginning right until the end ,I adored Landon and Chloe. This is not your usual Christmas story it is so much better ,a treasure trove of goodness and an Excellent 5 star read.
I was surprised by how much I loved Spying Under the Mistletoe. I’ve never read a fake-dating romance before this one, so I went in a little skeptical that I wasn’t going to enjoy the relationship.⠀
But, I absolutely fell in love with Landon (okay, maybe I fell in love with his dog Whiskey🧡). He knows what he wants, he’s focused, and him teaching kindergarten was adorably amusing.⠀
Chloe is a “mafia princess” who has left her family and started life anew. But there’s a contract out on her, especially now that her grandfather has been put behind bars.⠀
The story around their relationship kept the story moving, and I couldn’t wait to get back to reading to find out what happened next. ⠀
Spying Under the Mistletoe is the second book in the Love Undercover series by Stina Lindenblatt, but can absolutely be read as a standalone.⠀
Thank you to @stinalindenblatt and @GiveMeBooksPR for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.⠀
I was lucky enough to have received an ARC for, 'Spying under the Mistletoe', in exchange for an honest review. Sorry its a little late Stina. 💗
I absolutely loved this book, it has a good storyline and great characters. In this book we meet, Chloe and Landon, Chloe is a kindergarten teacher, who years ago walked away from her family that is connected to the Russian mob. Landon, works for a security agency, and goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher, after being tipped off that there is a price on Chloe's head. Throw in a little 'Whiskey', Children and senior's, and lots of chemistry, and you have a great read. I thoroughly recommend that you read this book, i loved it and think you will to. 💗
This was an enjoyable suspense romance by a new to me author. Even though it’s only September, it has a holiday feel to it as it takes place during the holiday season. Landon is hired to pretend to be a kindergarten teacher and become a fake boyfriend Chloe Reinhart to flush out the mob boss cousin that she’s estranged herself from and also to protect her, because someone wants her dead. I really liked this book. Landon and Chloe do dance around each other quite a bit, but Chloe is one tough chick, and she can handle most everything.
My Christmas reading binge is back on track! Like all Lindenblatt books, this one is full of fun, humor, and heart. Oh, and this one is also full of Christmas cheer with a little Grinch on the side. There’s a very good reason for the Grinchiness, though. If you’re looking for a face-paced holiday story that has light drama, suspense, and intrigue along with lots of fun check this one out. It’s worth it. I love all the characters from the Love Undercover series!
