This story was so light and a quick read that I finished it on one sitting. Rylan was such a sweetie and was the perfect man to win Maz's heart. A cute story with very little angst about two co-workers who have been hurt in the past crash into each other (literally)

An easy, quick-to-read romance. When I say fast-paced, this is the definition of fast-paced, so just be prepared for that and abandon some expectations 😉

Mazey & Rylan's latest relationships have both gone terribly and especially Mazey is very reluctant to start another one but in the end, they can't really help themselves.
It is all very insta-lovey but still enjoyable.

I couldn't really get behind Rylan's actions sometimes — he promises one thing and does something else and that kinda put me off his character. There were also a lot of repetitive passages and at the start, a lot of character traits just seem easily forgotten.

I didn't see the twist at the end coming but it was handled well and worked for the characters.

Despite its faults, I'm excited to read the sequel and other books in the universe.

I love books with tortured heroes. This one was a good one.
Mazey is starting a new job and starting over after a past relationship gone bad. She gave up everything to start over again.
Rylan was in the military, but after he got shot down and injured he is now trying to adapt to a civilian life. After running into each other a few times they can't deny the attraction between them. Finding out that they will be working together things get a bit... heated... :-)

But both of them carrying so much emotional baggage from past relationships, is this one doomed to fail before it even starts or will they be able to work through their issues to finally find their happily ever after.

I so understood Mazey and her feelings of her past relationships so it was hard to trust someone else again. As well as Rylan who was also in a toxic relationship. I was apprehensive when I found out about their pasts thinking how they would get over it and especially once Rylan's baggage made an appearance. But it was good seeing them open up and start to trust each other. I liked that Rylan didn't give up when he knew what he wanted and he just had to get Mazey on the same page.

Flashback by Rhian Cahill is a book set in The Everyday Heroes World, a series of books written by multiple authors. It has been a long, long time since I read anything by Ms. Cahill, who is a favorite author of mine. She is an author whose voice I fell in love with from the very first moment I indulged in the magical effect of her stories featuring heroes who are a tad on the grumpy side, and her penchant for delivery on the sexual heat that permeates and resonates through the stories.

32 year old Mazey Novak (Maz), head of trauma nursing at Anaheim Memorial Hospital Emergency Department in LA decides to make a fresh start when things go awry with her fiance who lies to her every step of the way in their relationship. More than the sense of betrayal she had felt in learning the truth, it had been the looks of disgust from her colleagues and people she had known that had propelled her to move and start anew. When Maz is offered the position of a flight nurse at Mercy-Life, a company specializing in medevac, she does not need much convincing.

Her new life comes with the walking talking temptation that is 39 year old Rylan Conners. Having served in the military for 20 years with the physical and emotional scars to show for it along with a divorce to his name, Rylan is at first skeptical that the new hire would prove to be reliable. Once bitten, twice as shy, Rylan is wary of women who pretend to be something they are not, a lesson that he had learnt to the bitter end when it comes to his ex-wife.

However, from the very start, the easy sense of camaraderie that he finds with Maz along with the simmering sexual tension between them which becomes harder to ignore by the day makes him realize that there is more to Maz than he initially thought. Things come to a head under the most heartbreaking of circumstances, and from that moment onward it becomes more difficult to ignore what feels so right between them. But their fragile bond is tested by fragments of their pasts, each carrying baggage that has left emotional scars on them.

I loved Flashback for the most part which made for pretty easy reading. I loved both Rylan and Maz – both were relatable with feelings that are only too real for people who have held the short end of the stick when it comes to relationships that take everything from you. At the same time, I did miss the searing scenes of passion in the story, something that I have come to expect when it comes to Ms. Cahill’s work.

Recommended for those who love a good contemporary romances featuring likable characters who steals your heart for all the right reasons.

Final Verdict: Flashback delivers on the heart and heat that is synonymous with every book penned by Ms. Cahill.

Definitely a fun quick sexy read! Mazey is starting a new job in a new town to get a fresh start. Mazey is running from a past relationship and has emotional baggage from the experience. Rylan not only is getting over a military accident but a loveless marriage. They literally collide into each other and there is instant chemistry. This was a enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Flashback is the first story of Rhian Cahill's I've read, and If this story is anything to go by, I've been missing out on some good reads. This was easy to read, friends to lovers, surprise pregnancy, and I finished it way to fast. Both Rylan and Mazey are likeable. They both have demanding careers, and baggage from past relationships, but they really can't deny their attraction they have for one another. Flashback is part of An Everyday Hero World, and I enjoyed it.

Rylan lived to fly, Mazey just wanted to help. The sparks fly from the first collision. I loved this storyline. I wanted to reach into the book and smack Mazey’s ex. These two fight the chemistry, but eventually it breaks. I heart broke when the accident turned deadly. These two deserved the happy ending!

5 Star Review Flashback by Rhian Cahill

Rhian Cahill is a new author to me. This was a fun and entertaining read that kept me invested from the first to the last chapter. I am loving this series as I have found a number of new authors. This is Rylan Conners and Mazey Novak’s story; neither of them are looking for love, but fate often works in mysterious ways.

All it takes is one time to change the course of your life and that is what happens to Rylan and Mazey. What will happen when the past comes back to torment them? Can they withstand the threats that surround them or is their relationship doomed to fail?

This was a well written story that ticked a lot of the boxes for me. The banter between them was fun and the chemistry sizzled. This was a heart warming story of learning to love and trust again.

I was given an Advance Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Flashback by Rhian Cahill is part of the Everyday Heroes World created by K. Bromberg. It focuses on Mazey Novak and Rylan Conners. Both have emotional baggage, but both are starting anew in Sunnyville and both are searching for the same thing, even though they don’t know it!

Mazey is running from a past relationship with a liar and a cheat. She really had no idea that she was the other woman but was so affected she gave up her life and job and moved to Sunnyville to start all over again. Rylan was in the military, got shot down and injured and is now adapting to civilian life. They literally collide into each other, not just once, but a few times and there is an instant attraction. Then they find out they are working together and things get rather heated and go from there.

Mazey has deep seated but understandable issues with liars and cheats and betrayal. Rylan was also on the receiving end of a liar and cheat as well, so they both have something in common, except I have to say that Mazey carries much more emotional baggage on this front. Rylan knows what he wants – a great relationship and a family and kids. He’s out to get it and thinks that he and Mazey could have a great thing together. Now, it’s just a matter of convincing the gun shy Mazey of the same thing.

I was really invested in finding out how these two would get together and it was a journey that had its ups and downs, especially when the ex-wife made an appearance but it was emotionally satisfying and left me wanting more. I have to say that I wanted more explanation of the story about Rylan and his friend Jake because it was just so brief and seemed to me to be a bit abrupt, but knowing that there are more stories coming I can guess that this will get fleshed out a lot more in one of those.

Flashback was a great read. If you like great characters, interesting secondary characters, romance, a lot of sizzle and heat, then this is the story for you!

I hadn't heard of the world Everyday Heroes created by K. Bromberg, but now I’m definitely intrigued and looking forward to reading more from both K. Bromberg and other authors who are writing in this world.

* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCE READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *

I have not read anything by Rhian before but I will look into more of her books.

The relationship Rylan and Maz have forged is sweet soft and natural. They are the every couple we hope to be with that happy balance of friendship and love.

I enjoyed how no matter the past that was before this they used that pain and lessons learned to shape the road ahead, whether it was intentional or not for them. They are both relatable and strong in the sense they are not 1 dimensional characters.

I only gave it 4 stars for the fact that it is an every day hero story and we saw very little of what made them that in this story, just a snippet that lead us to the incredible journey. And I also didn't care for the abrupt end into the epilogue, it felt like there was more to be said and was unfinished.

I do recommend this book as an easy romance read with steamy interludes.

Flashback is a standalone in ‘The Everyday Heroes World’.

Rylan needed a fresh start, after 20 years doing what he loved it was time to move on, new town and a job helping people. When the new flight nurse arrives and they are involved in a hard call out they come together and start to set their own path. When history comes back to haunt them both. Learning that running won’t fix anything.

I really enjoyed reading Flashback, it ticked all the boxes for me even including one of my favourite tropes. Having now read a couple of stories from ‘The Everyday Heroes World’ I am excited to jump in for more.

I loved reading this fun and sexy story written by Rhian Cahill. Flashback is a book in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes world and this author did a great job with her storytelling. I loved Rylan and Mazey together and really enjoyed their friendship, the sexual tension and the passion that brewed between them once they gave in to their desire. Mazey had some trust issues after her last relationship and did not want to enter into another one but who could resist Rylan and his love for pie? There were some hot, sexy moments that scorched the pages. I loved everything about this book and cannot wait to read more stories by this author in this world.

I just love hanging out in Sunnyville! With realistic characters that you love spending time with, and this addition to this series of stand alones is no exception. Rhian Cahill did an amazing job, giving the characters depth and emotion. She made me care about what happens to them. She makes you want to root for them.

This was a beautifully written story of two people who need to unpack their baggage and learn to trust and love again. I loved it and look forward to the next 2 stories she has written for this Everyday Hero world !

This story starts off with you learning about two people who are getting over messy, toxic relationships where they were done wrong. I love Mazey and Rylan together as well as individually. I was routing for them from page one. Soooo good.

These two characters move to the same small down to create a new life for themselves. They meet even before they find out that their lives are going to be connected through work. They also get a new tribe through their jobs which rounds out this story beautifully.

Love the sweetness, surprises, and message of this telling. It is a five star worthy telling. Happy Reading Everyone!

As always, Rhian Cahill delivers an amazing reading adventure.

Great characters, great dialogue, hot "togetherness" scenes and a beautiful, but difficult, love story that makes it all come together.

I can highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, sometimes emotional, book.

I'm going to start by saying this...I'm new to Rhian Cahill. But she has a new fan for sure. I'm all for books that involve the medical field. Being a nurse, reading is my escape. I loved getting lost in a good story. With that said...I'm also very picky when it comes to books that involve the medical field. The story has to be believable. I love when an author does their research or knows the subject or both. Then I know the story is going to be one for the record books. That's exactly what Flashback is.

Rylan has spent the last year moving on from what he thought was the worst time in his life. Coming home following an injury in the military only to find out your wife and your best friend are having a baby. Rylan has done a good job of moving on. Now he's ready for more. He's bought his dream home, he just needs the wife and kids. Mazey thought she had it all, but the truth was she didn't, not even close. I loved watching her overcome her past. I loved seeing her move forward with her life. She's in a new town, with new friends, and is ready to start her new job. When an accidental human tree knocks her over, literally and figuratively. Mazey never imagined the man she "bumped" into would be her pilot at her new job.

I loved watching these two come together. I loved seeing them go from co-workers to friends, to much, much more. I loved getting lost in all that was Mazey and Rylan. I loved their chemistry. I loved this storyline from start to finish. I will say there is some drama in this book. The kind that made me want to reach through the book as slap someone silly. Trust me, I thought about it. This book for me was perfect. It was exactly what I was hoping for in this collection. Rhian Cahill wrote one great story.

This was my first book by Rhian Cahill . It will not be my last, I plan on reading more of her work!
I really liked 𝘍𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬. It's a love story of 2 people who were hurt tremendously in the past and are both learning to trust again.
They have both recently moved into basically the same neighborhood ( only a few streets away from each other) and both accepted new jobs which happen to be at the same place!

𝖬𝖺𝗓𝖾𝗒 is an emergent nurse, having previously worked in and running an ER for several years.
𝖱𝗒𝗅𝖺𝗇 is a pilot who was in the military until his chopper was shot down and he was injured.

He has recovered and getting back to civilian life and becomes the helicopter pilot when he and Mazey are assigned together their first shift, they learn it's best to stay with the pilot you trained with so they begin working together and getting to know each other.

They both carry quite a bit of emotional baggage but slowly they learn to get to know each other is the best thing they can do for each one to be extremely happy and where they want in life.

It is a shorter quicker story, with a lot of info packed into it, but written so well by Ms.Cahill that you don't seem to be hit with all the information at once and still get to know each main character and their story without being overwhelmed.

I would like to thank both the author Rhian Cahill and Greys Promotion for an ADVANCED COPY in exchange for my honest review.

What a great read

Being familiar with the K Bromberg Everyday Hero's series, I was eager to read these KB World books, oh boy I wasn't disappointed with this one. This book has references from Cockpit, which is written by Kristy.
Mazey and Rylan had both moved to Sunnyville for different reasons but both needed a fresh start. Rylan had already been there 6 months when Maz arrived, he's just bought a lovely house and was established in his job as a rescue pilot. Maz was a nurse and an old friend helped her get into a job at Mercy-Life working along side Rylan.
She was going to visit her friend soon after she had moved in to thank her for getting her the job and to catch up when she was literally knocked off her feet buy a 6' 4 " brick wall! This was Mazey and Rylans first encounter.
Little did they know that this encounter would be the start of a friendship.
There are many bumps in the road for these two as their friendship builds,.
Will working together hinder that? Will their past's prevent them from getting what they want in their futures?
You'll have to read this book for yourself to find out. I loved this story and I'm so pleased that there will be a couple of books to follow, can't wait for those!!
Thank you Rhian for giving me a little more from Sunnyville.
Definitely 5 stars from me.

Mazey Novak is starting the next chapter of her life. Rylan Conners is also starting over. Our main characters are first responders. They are the ones we want when time is of the essence. We see the humanity behind the face of the person we may or may not see again. Maybe it’s only for a moment in time but some may or may not leave an impression. We walk by people every day but do you ever wonder what their life may be like? Probably not.

The author has created a nice book boyfriend. He cares about what a woman might like or feel about something. He also needed the patience of Jobe. Our author shows how frustrating we women can be to men. And she knows just the right moment to turn up the heat – may need to crank the a/c up.

There came a time where I kept waiting to see what twist she was going to put in. But Ms. Cahill didn’t do the expected. She reminded me why I’m terrible at solving some things – this being one. My mind was going one way and she had it go another. That’s why she’s good at her job. Even though it wasn’t what I expected, it did fit the storyline and that’s what I was happy to see. I’m excited that she’s not done with the group that Mazey and Rylan work with and I hope you will be too.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

My first foray into the Everyday Heroes World, a quick, low angst read.

Escaping the lies from her previous relationship, Mazey relocates to have a fresh start working for Mercy-Life as a flight nurse, which is quite a change from the busy hospital job she previously had. Whilst out and about she bumps into Rylan, literally, twice falling on her bum after not looking where she’s going and hitting straight into his chest. Rylan is gun-shy when it comes to relationships too, after getting injured whilst on a mission in the army, he was sent home only to find his wife and best friend in a compromising position. After having the stunningly beautiful Mazey run into him twice, he wants his hands on her permanently, not just to help her off the ground. Mazey tries keeping Rylan at arms length, not trusting herself not to get caught up in a mans lies again, it’s not until an accidental pregnancy binds them together that Mazey starts to soften, but when a blast from Rylan’s past appears to cause trouble, Mazey thinks history is repeating itself.

A hot, sweet, emotional read. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline twists and turns, the characters, the romance and the setting. A great start to my EHW journey, and a new author to add to my list of greats.

I first discovered Rhian Cahill earlier this year with her contribution to the Girl Power Romance collection, so when I saw she was writing a story in The Everyday Heroes World, I couldn't wait to read it. Rhian is a great storyteller and you're going to fall in love with Rylan and Mazey in Flashback!

Flashback is a story about letting go of the past so you can see what the future holds. Rylan and Mazey both had troubling pasts but together, they're explosive. Rylan is one of those characters you wish you knew in real life. He's an all-around great guy with so many good qualities. And I thought he was perfect for Mazey.

I don't think I've ever read a story involving this part of the medical field and it was really refreshing. The story itself was engaging and Cahill knew when to light up the pages. It's so much more than a workplace romance!

Quick read for anyone that wants to have something easy yet adorable to read. Pros for this book are this is a book with characters that are not in the typical job field that most book characters are in and it’s refreshing to read about a different lifestyle that impacts them heavily. Cons for this book are that there is not a really big sense of conflict that really just drives you deeper into the book. What is supposed to be the major conflict of them having a baby is truly not that big of a problem because it is resolved once the main character finally listens to what the guy is saying. Overall the book is still something I would recommend to people who are in between on books and wants to read something quick and refreshing.

Flashback by Rhian Cahill, part of K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes World project, is a sizzling, workplace, friends to lovers story. Former ER trauma nurse Mazey needed a do-over on her life after a relationship imploded, ending many of her dreams as well as her trust in men. Moving and taking a job as a flight nurse at Mercy-Life gave her that new start. Pilot Rylan found flying for Mercy-Life a sanctuary after his twenty years in the military and the breakup of his marriage. Working together Mazey and Rylan enjoy a growing friendship that fuels their attraction and chemistry. Neither one is looking for a relationship, but it only took one fiery shower to give them an inkling of what could be if they wanted to pursue it. Finding that there’s a consequence of that encounter isn’t what either one wanted, but it provided an opportunity for them to each have the life they have always dreamed of. Then a flashback from the past appears, threatening everything they’ve been building. Now Rylan has his work cut out to convince Mazey that he cares about her, and only her before they can be a real family, leaving their pasts behind them.

Ms. Cahill wrote an enjoyable, sizzling romance that should definitely not be missed. She provided a story with off the chart chemistry, a caring community, and charming secondary characters helping Mazey and Rylan get their happily ever after. I enjoyed and highly recommend Flashback to other readers.
