This anthology was not good. I’ve been working my way through for weeks and I’m finally throwing in the towel. These books literally have nothing in common. They don’t all happen in spring. They don’t even all have HEAs - some are the start series and have cliffhangers. I did finish all but three of the included books. Most were pretty shitty two-star affairs. Our Options Have Changed Julia Kent and Elisa Reed Was the high point at three stars. Reviews for each are in my highlights/notes. Seriously though, don’t do this to yourself.
From the collection I read: Hitching the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox
I love the Bishop Brothers series by Kennedy Fox, and I was so excited when I realized their new series centered around the children of the brothers. In “Hitching the Cowboy,” we are propelled into the future to the Circle B Ranch where we find Alex’s son Riley, hard at work, and as handsome as his father. Riley had planned a weekend in Las Vegas with his best friend and roommate, Diesel, and we all know what happens there. Nothing good, and certainly nothing you want to talk about when you get home.
Riley and Zoey were instantly attracted to each when their eyes met across the busy nightclub. Riley never thought he would see her again and he knew that lady luck was on his side when their paths crossed the next morning in the hotel. Zoey was beautiful and funny and he desperately wanted to get to know her. Zoey loved her job as a hairdresser and was lucky to have followed her heart in pursuing the career that she wanted. She hadn’t lived up to her parents expectations and she was using this weekend to relax and just live in the moment. She thought that Riley was handsome and sexy and she knew in her heart they had met for a reason. When you meet the right person you just know it, because love doesn’t follow any rules and can happen in an instant.
What happens when Zoey arrives at the ranch? Will she adapt to ranch life or miss all the comforts of home? Will Riley welcome Zoey with open arms, and can he convince her to stay and make a life with him on the ranch?
Hitching The Cowboy by Kennedy Fox Circle B Ranch #2
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Hitching The Cowboy, and for that I’m very grateful. Release Date is 12th November 2019!
“Wow, I thought you Cowboy types would be able to take your, whiskey, bourbon, tequila, vodka shot mixes without an issue.”
My gosh, I absolutely loved going back to Circle B Ranch and getting to see bit and piece of all my favourite Bishop Men. I also loved that the girls decided to go back and give us their babies stories as well.
I stand corrected though, because Riley is no baby. Riley is on hot Cowboy living his best life on his families ranch and having fun along the way. So when he decides to take his best friend Diesel to Vegas to help celebrate his birthday, he doesn’t expect to run in to the gorgeous Zoey.
Zoey has always been the black sheep in her family, and now that he sister is getting married, they go out and find a man for her as well, Pitty he’s pathetic! Zoeys sister has been planing her hens party in Vegas for as long as she can remember so when the time come to board the plan, zoey decides that she’s going to live her best life and forget about all the drama at home.
After a wild night of drinking and bar hopping the last thing these two expects to happen, happens and well what happens in Vegas, might just be the best thing to ever happen to you!
I highly recommend this book, not only is its own story, it’s also got so many other sweet little parts!
Hitching The Cowboy by Kennedy Fox: I absolutely loved this book!!! The story of Riley and Zoey is so sweet and I couldn't put it down. I love all the Bishop men and I love getting a glimpse of the kids all grown up and having their own story!! Keep them coming.....💓💓💓
Olive and Rory meet by happenstance. His confidence is shaken, a victim of his past and she’s learnt the lesson of being expendable. Her parents started a YouTube channel when she was thirteen, filming her and her siblings doing everything, during their waking hours. Mundane activities such as getting ready for school, eating in restaurants—a sitcom curse until she hit a certain age, and the videos became about her little brother and sister. Eight million subscribers at last count. They filmed most of her waking hours, but then they took her out of the equation and continued filming her brother and sister exclusively as she was replaced - - no longer part of the process. They placed them in the limelight and replaced her with younger versions.
Rory was incarcerated for two years, he had gone to his brother, Jamie’s assigned lifeguard chair, thinking maybe he’d stayed late because kids were still swimming—and saw some older guys. They were in the water. Looked like they were wrestling, so starting to head back up to the boardwalk, he heard his brother’s name. Rory closed his eyes and tried to breathe through the anger, all these years later. They were letting him back up to breathe. They weren’t…he didn’t think they were planning on drowning him. But they were drunk and he could tell that a mile away, could hear it in their voices. They could have made a mistake and there were five of them. Five on one. The person holding Jamie under the water, he placed him in a coma.
Both insecure and uncertain to their place in the universe, together they complete each other. She’s waiting for him to discard her and he’s waiting for her to upgrade.
Rory doesn’t want casual. She needed to be secure in the knowledge that he wasn’t going to abandon her. That his presence in her life was indestructible, that the remaining cracks in their foundation were filled with hope. Knowledge that the future would be theirs.

There's a consistent trend in romance novels that I find concerning and it is that the authors seem to dislike women. Given that most of the romances I read are written by women, that's concerning. But it just seems like most authors write female characters who are either irredeemably selfish, too dumb to survive without a man, smart until they fall in love or a manipulative hot mess. I'm saying this because I DNF'ed more than half the stories in this book because the H turned out to be the Almighty Savior of the h or the guy that found manipulative behavior cute. The one I was most excited to read, by an author I usually really enjoy, featured a smart empowered woman who kinda gets screwed over in humiliating and unnecessary ways. A plot device is supposed to move the story along, not completely undercut the authors efforts in establishing character development. Having your used sex toy sold at public auction by an ex, only to be heroically SAVED by the H, when you have built a multi million dollar company up by yourself to prove character...unnecessary plot device. Frustrating and disrespectful to the character and the readers. There was enough going on without including a plot device that humiliates the h. And that's just one of the books in this anthology.
Please do not buy this book if you are looking for hea romance. Not all of the stories in this book have endings. You have to buy a series to see how they end. That wouldn't be so bad if they weren't as depressing as hell. I read romance to feel happy, not horrible. I only bought this because of a favorite author. This was not quite what was advertised, and I am now a bit disappointed in a favorite author for allowing her work to be included in the such a downheartening mix.
i am still CURRENTLY READING THIS BOOK! As everyone knows, I keep a KINDLE BOOKS READ LIST & within this LIST, I break down EACH & EVERY BOOK that is within an EDITION of MORE THAN ONE BOOK.
Therefore, I am now in the midst of reading BOOK 2 WRITE YOU A LOVE SONG, by FABIOLA FRANCISCO, which I'm hoping doesn't turn out to be a tear-jerker!!! I suppose I will need to write a separate review on each of these ELEVEN ROMANCES!
BOOK 1 FIXING HER by was so good that I purchased FIXING HIM, BOOK 2 in ELAINE MIRANDA'S FIXING SERIES, which I'll begin after I finish the 11 BOOKS in the SPRING ROMANCE COLLECTION.
This was a sweet cute bundle I really enjoyed it but I am still very new to Devney Perry and he writing style is very different that what I’m used to reading in romance. Overall this was worth the buy and I really enjoyed it I took my time with this one and read a few chapters a day over the course of the last few months 😍. I read Mouth to mouth by Tessa Bailey and Hitching the Cowboy by Kennedy Fix before but a reread is always in order for these two.
Bought this collection for Julia Kent and Kylie Gilmore as they are already favorite authors. Discovered Devney Perry and fell in love with her series and quickly clicked to purchase the rest in her series
Highly recommend you but this collection of stories by these talented authors
Highly doubt I'll read any of these authors again. I bought it for Skye Warren's book, and realized I'd already read hers. Tried the others. Had to DNF some.
Fighting made about "The Initiation." What an absolutely horrible story. Rape is not romantic. Selling your finance to your father for $100,000 shares of the company is not romantic.
This is a book woth a little something for everyone. Even though I wasnt a fan of all tje books in this series there were a few I really did love. Give this anthology a chance. I found new to me authors thst ai cant wait to read more books by.
An excellent collection. I'm a huge fan of the authors, but only saw this on Kennedy Fox's page. I was excited because i haven't read Hitching the Cowboy. I really liked it and was happy to read it on here. Definitely going to come back and read the other books as well!
I really didn't enjoy this. One author I already liked so I gave it a try. Out of the remaining 8, I did find a author I was interested in reading the full book. The others I skimmed as well as skipped over their books.
A few of these had cliffhangers. I get that you are introducing me to your series but cliffhangers and duets or trilogy will guarantee I not but another one of your books.
The talent and imagination of so many authors has been brought together in a collection of stories with something for everyones taste that will open new series binges to the eyes.
This is a great collection of stories that cover most romance genres so there is something for everyone. A great way to read a number of authors who you may not have read before.
Very intriguing read. I enjoyed the stories with the various storylines. Each one bold and captivating. The vulnerability of the characters was heartwarming.
