Yeah, I am DMFing. I can't do this anymore.
I am disgusted.
(DNFed at around 52% give or take.)
Hero is obsessed with his ex, calls the heroine by his ex's name TWICE.
Well, twice that I know of, because I didn't finish the audiobook. He may have done it 20 more times for the rest of the book for all I know lol.
*throws up
Bria and Crew have no chemistry and it DOES NOT help that Crew has more chemistry with Abby, his high school sweetheart, who we see in flashback chapters from his POV.
I REALLY dislike the heroine.
Let's ignore the little internalized misogyny she did when the band met Veronica. Apparently, she hates Veronica at first sight because Veronica is flirty, fancy, put together, and gives her a (better in my opinion) stage name.
Girl, there is no need to hate another woman for things like that... that SCREAMS insecurity and internalized misogyny.
But let's get to the real reason I dislike Bria, the heroine.
There's nothing worse than a heroine who doesn't respect herself and takes shit lying down like a toilet seat. (Sorry for the visual, but that is genuinely how I feel about women and female characters who don't value themselves. YOU ARE A TOILET SEAT.)
I started disliking her around the time she found out her boyfriend (not the hero) was cheating on her.
I did like that she ended it right away, but this author REALLY wants me to believe the heroine was THIS naive to not see this coming a mile away, with the way that famous boyfriend of hers was acting...
Dude wasn't even subtle about being an asshole. He was BLATANTLY an asshole to her, oogling at other women's breasts in front of her, treating her like shit, and yet the heroine does a PICACHU surprise face when she finds out he's cheating on her... GIRL! Why were you exclusive with someone like that in the first place...
You should have had your cake and eaten it too with him...
And worst, she left a situation where she was dating/having sex with the lead singer of a band, only to do it again with the hero, WITHOUT any second thoughts...
Girl, didn't you just lose your job because of this? How can you put yourself in the same situation? With a guy who keeps calling you by another girl's name, mind you...
How am I supposed to respect this heroine if she doesn't respect herself...?
Why didn't she stop her relationship with Crew the second he said Abby's name? That is so embarrassing!!!!!
She went on to have literally...and I am not kidding... LITERALLY the worst sex scene I have ever read in a book. EVER.
Not only is the hero still not over his ex, but he is also a 2 pumps chump, who says his ex's name right in the middle/after he just had sex with the heroine! LMAOOOOOOO
That was about where I deleted the audiobook.
I couldn't take it.
Literally what the fuck is this?
Not the type of romance book I'm into.
Goodbye.
This author isn't for me...
