Zorah: The Adversaries

Rate this book
It is 2120 A.D.
The human race faces extinction. While fresh water is being rapidly depleted from the surface of the earth, the temporal dimension binding our solar system together begins to fade. Astral princedoms orchestrate the most nefarious attack in history against humankind.
Amid the hellish chaos, humanity's only hope lies within an ancestral and subterranean civilization unknown to man, in whose domain is a vast freshwater ocean.
With the help of an ordinary teenage boy named Henry, mystical guardians called Thakaiken will ascend from The land of Tenshia to the surface and defend people from the celestial conspiracy, restore the planet, and claim the everlasting right of Man to obtain the secrets of the universe.
Their mission's success entirely depends on humanity's ability to raise its consciousness, as it was meant to be since the dawn of time.

Zorah: The Adversaries is the first book in this futuristic, adventure series. The story is fast paced and the plot is always moving, never staying in one place for too long. I enjoyed learning about this world and the setting, though I wished the description of the setting was a bit more in depth. The scenes switched from the human world to other magical places and I just wanted more of it. I also enjoyed the many challenges that these worlds faced, including loss of natural resources and human extinction.

My favorite character was Henry. His life was interesting to read about. I liked that there was a bit of some romance along with all of the adventures he experienced while trying to save the world with his friends.

Overall, this wasn't quite what I was expecting when I started reading. It surprised me in some places and the ending was intriguing. I'm still deciding if I want to read the next book.

This is such a fun read.

The characters are well-written, likable and well-developed. The story-line flows flawlessly, drawing you into this incredible world filled with suspense, twists and romance. K Emerson did a phenomenal job and I can't wait to read more from this author. Also, the illustrations are so beautiful, created by Laura Morales.

This is a gripping adventure unlike anything I have read. It grabs you from the very first page and keeps you flipping pages until the end! This will be one that I plan to read more than once.

I was send a free copy of the e-book by the author, K.Emerson, in exchange for an honest review.

Okay I'm going to be really honest. I was planning to give this book 2 stars if it had not been for the ending.

This book was very fast paced, and for me I think it was a bit too fast. I felt like I got lost a lot of times while reading it and I had to go back a few pages to really understand what was going on. The plot was very interesting but I feel like too much was going on. Like a million things were happening and that's why during some parts I couldn't really follow.

However, the last few chapters dragged me into the story and made me feel more connected to it, so I think that if that had happened in the beginning this book would have been a 4 star book!

Finally, the ending was good, but I think it was a bit too open. I'm more used to reading books in series which endings are like the end of something but they give you a sneak peek about what's happening next. In Zorah: The Adversaries, I feel like the real main problem of the series appeared a bit too late throughout the story and maybe that's why the ending was so open.

When the second part comes, I would love to read it because that open ending made me want to know the end!

So if you like a complete new view about the future of our world and kinda the origins too, this book is for you!

Fascinating story.
The way the author contrasts real-world issues, like the water shortage, with a wonderful plot packed with mysticism, is just breathtaking. It is also full of unexpected, yet interesting twists, and an absolute cliff-hanger (I can't wait for Book 2!)
The story itself is inspiring and enlightening for this generation. I loved the characters; they are so unique. The Prince is my favorite! ( you'd have to read it to agree or disagree with me)
Adventure, romance and sci-fy are perfectly blended in this for sure Page-turner from beginning to end!

Zorah: The Adversaries by K. Emerson is a story with unique and interesting plot. The story is set in 2120 AD. There is lack of water on the planet and soon there will be no water. It has been four years since it has rained. Patrick Hanover is the project leader of the AQUA-DE-VITA project. The mission from this project was to discover a new source of potable water from under the surface of earth. But six years of research has went in vain.

Henry Schulze revisited alone to the excavation site. He went deeper inside and reached an underground chamber. Henry is now on a different planet inside the globe. He is under the Earth's surface.
The Thakaiken from the land of Tenshia must stop the wicked creatures and prevent humanity’s destruction. Grab a copy of this book and read it yourself to know what gonna happen next.

The storyline is quite interesting. Language of the book is simple and easy to understand. I binge read this story and I enjoyed every bit of it. Couldn't put it down. Cover is nice and title is apt. Looking forward to read the sequel of it.

I'm going to go ahead and call it quits on this one at 20% of the way through. I haven't found any of the characters to be likeable, and I don't really like the way the story is written. Instead, the characters interact very awkwardly with one another, and the story doesn't seem to flow very well. The main character is a bit entitled, and overall it just doesn't feel like a natural story with the amount of details that we're given. At the very least, it would have been helpful to get an explanation for what some of the terms used in Tenshia mean the first time we heard them. It's hard to stay interested otherwise.
Note: I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways.

If you are looking for a very fast paced, wild ride of a book - look no further. This is a unique story with a gripping plot that will keep you hooked from page one. Just when you think you cannot be any more hooked, the last few chapters will reel you back in and drop your jaw. This set up perfectly for a second book, which you will want to read asap. Make sure to give this a go if you're looking for a thrilling, edge of your seat story.

3.5 stars. The beginning and middle was very hard for me to get through, I struggled and needed to stop several times to read other books, as to not go into a reading slump. The end however was great, though I don't know if it's enough to save it on the ratings end. My final view is, it's worth reading.

Although the premise was really interesting, I couldn't get through the book. The writing was painfully bad and too distracting.

There are as many paths to reach Zorah, as there are stars in the sky.
🦄🦄🦄
It is the year 2120 A.D. and the world is deteriorating.
Freshwater sources are depleting and the last project was a failure.
After an accident at the the site, Henry, a teenager finds himself in the lap of an unknown civilization.
The Thakaiken are mystical guardians from the land of Tenshia who seem to have the last source of abundant freshwater, but in order to share it with the human race they have demands which the humans need to follow.
Henry finds himself in a predicament to save himself and the world by doing things he thought impossible. 🦄🦄🦄
Zorah: the Adversaries us the first book in the series by author, K. Emerson. -I liked the story as a whole but for me it was slightly complicated because there were so many characters to remember. -The plot is incredible, the plot twists added an extra edge to the story which I loved. But I was not a big fan of the writing style in some areas. (It felt like it was written by a different person.)
-I am in love the illustrations in the book and I feel like it added a nice touch to it before every chapter.
-I'm not a big fan of Henry, I feel like he still hasn't done anything great in the story to make him worthy of being the story's protagonist, but I was impressed by Ikhabot, another character.
I was also in love with the antagonist's character, he was very well written.
Maybe Henry will shine more in the next part of the series.
-The book ended on an interesting cliffhanger because you need to know what happens next because it makes you think, 'what?' BUT it doesn't give that OMG moment. (Does this make sense?)

Zorah : The Adversaries is a fast-paced adventure with lots of twists and turns, I never really knew what to expect next. There is also a rich cast of characters and a fully developed world just ready to be explored.

But, my favorite part of the story is it's thoughtful commentary on how we're depleting the earth's resources. It offers at times a frightening realization that this really could be our future and we don't have an ancient civilization to help bail us out. It really makes you think.

Although science fiction isn't my favorite genre, this is only the third sci-fi book I've read, it was an interesting read.

Zorah, The Adversaries is the first novel in this brand-new ya science fiction series with a spoonful of romance sprinkled through the pages. We begin with an intriguing prologue that leads into a highly suspenseful read with unexpected twists seeping through the pages. With vivid world building descriptions and detailed settings, including illustrations. The narrative writing style is well established with characters, conflict, and settings. This ends with a awe-inspiring cliffhanger, leading into book two. Looking forward to reading the next novel in this captivating read.
