I was that kid, the one that was ignored, pushed around and bullied. School was miserable for me. I hated it. Every day seemed like a new trauma waited just beyond the schoolhouse doors. My dad would always tell me ‘buck up.’ He told me to stand up for myself and be a man, stop letting other people intimidate me. I tried to explain it was never one on one, it was more like a pack of hyenas preying on the one they singled out.

This 3 chapter preview is a very well written “sneak peak” of The Prospect, the first Book in this new Author’s soon to debut series. It’s an absolute page-turner, I couldn’t put it down. I’m excited to see what else HH has in store for us. I will definitely be reading more from him in the future!

I really loved this preview and it serves as a great introduction to author Hunter Holmes and his writing style. It's a wonderful engaging coming of age story. The development of the character from being bullied when he was younger, him standing on his own as an adult, and joining the military was excellently done. It may be a short preview, but it does an excellent job and has my attention, and I need to know what happens next!

For this being the first thing this author has written it is amazing. This is a well written PREVIEW to the authors book: The Prospect, so it is short but gives you an idea of how he writes and what will be happening in his next book: The Prospect. The PREVIEW of the Prospect is about a boy who gets bullied in school, a cuddling mom and a Marine dad. The PREVIEW grabs your attention from the very first page and holds your interest until the end.

Hunter Holmes is not a new writer, he's just finally gotten his butt in gear and is publishing.
He's a daring writer - daring to write it like it really is.
This is a Preview of the life of a boy that grows up right before our eyes.
He fought for his Dad's approval, and to cut the apron strings with his Mom.
He does it all with a style all his own. This character is not going to follow anyone's rules but his own.
I enjoyed the book, and will definitely read more of Hunter's work.

Oh, how I am loving this!

Firstly, I love the authors writing style. His ability to tell the story so fluidly is so good! Usually, the beginning of a story can come across as disjointed but not this one.
I can not wait to get to read the rest of this book. I may have found a new male Author to put with my favorites.

He grows up being bullied but decided to change his habits. He goes and enlists and learns things from them and he learned from his father.

I felt every emotion from this book. As things progressed for Cage in this new world and his relationships with women further develop it seems like everything is going well. When Tamara and Nessa come into Cage’s life he’s happier than he thought possible but along the way there are complications from outside forces that he did not foresee happening. There is loss and pain but at its core a deep love story. Hunter Holmes doesn’t disappoint I look forward to seeing what’s next
