I have been dreaming about fictional worlds since I was a kid. I devoured anything related to fantasy and science fiction. I developed a setting over the last twenty years and struggled to find a medium I could express it in. Several years ago, I discovered I enjoyed writing. It is a passion of mine now, and exploring my setting with it has been an awesome journey.

I work in the information technology field and have my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in it. It has helped me to shape some of the concepts I write about. I also enjoy keeping up on futurology and science in general.

I live in central Ohio and enjoy walking, reading, gaming, learning, listening to music, and trying to keep up on my never-ending list of TV shows and movies to watch. If you want to contact me, you can do so on my website at

“The end of a journey can be the beginning of a new one.”
A fine and promising start of a new series within the Evaran Chronicles universe, also interrelated, which makes it an exciting and interesting story. Inspector Dalton, from an alternate Earth arrives to our timeline and present day Earth, with a special power, a source very few humans have access to. A detective style read, full of intrigue and mystery. The premise of the book is wonderfully fleshed out, meticulously researched and artfully weaves history and fiction into a deliciously plausible tale. I can’t wait to see where the next adventure will take us!

Summary:
This may be the start of a new series, but many of the old favorites step up to the plate as the story unfolds. Inspector Dalton is starting his new life as an Earth Ward bringing some technology he gained form his brief time with Evaran, a powerful entity who guards and protects many timelines throughout many universes. Dalton and his sidekick AI, EVOT, are determined to defend Earth, but things may not be what they seem. With the assistance of Jake and other members of the Earth Ward, Dalton starts his mission, but what he finds will challenge his and EVOT’s abilities.

This was a fascinating start to what looks to be a fascinating new series. I am enjoying many of the characters form other series as they take a bigger role in this story. I loved meeting EVOT with her unique abilities and quirky habits. Things on Earth are not as simple as Dalton first thought making his assignment more difficult than he expected. Even with all the problems, Dalton maintained his standards of giving others a chance to mend their ways, but like Evaran you only get one chance than all bets are off. New characters entered the story and I for one hope that Dalton like Evaran will build a crew to help him fight for the good of Earth. I will be waiting for what lies ahead in The Inspector Dalton Files.

Dalton Kingston Is More Than A Man, and He Has A Shapeshifting AI, Too

A wonderful new character spins out of the Evaran adventures and makes his way to our earth where he is now an inspector with the Earth Ward. His first case involves a rogue group of Blooded Vampires who have broken the rules. Trafficking in humans is forbidden here. Dalton’s tools of the trade are numerous, including weapons he can access at will, the ability to change his appearance in the blink of an eye, and his remarkable shapeshifting AI, Evot. Wait till you read what she can do.

Transition introduces this great new character that will interact with Evaran and the other regular characters from the Evaran Chronicles, but he brings a whole different set of skills to fight crime on this earth. I enjoyed this prequel adventure of the Inspector Dalton Files, I’m sure you will, too.

Thank you, Adair Hart, for an advance copy of Transition.

Transition is the book you should read before starting the Inspector Dalton series. This book plus book 11 of the Evaran series sets the stage for Otherworld: Book 1 of “The Inspector Dalton Files” series and develops its principal character, Inspector Dalton. In Transition, Dalton is starting work for Earth Ward, an organization that’s made up of earth-based non-humans and represents Earth in the Kregan Inter-Stellar Empire. In this book, Dalton meets two of the individuals that he will ultimately add to a new investigative team that was created in “Otherworld”. Unfortunately, I read Otherworld before reading Transition which resulted in my being a little confused by some of the references made in the Dalton series’ first book.

Dalton takes on his first case solo in this book and learns that protecting humans against opportunistic non-humans is tougher than he thought it would be. Going out of his way to avoid bloodshed, he ends up with the death of one of Earth Ward’s safe house employees. Fortunately, despite the loss, the case leads to the elimination of one of Earth’s major crime syndicates, the freedom of imprisoned rivals, and the freedom of exploited non-humans.

The book has action as well as cerebral moments that call on Dalton to balance human protection against the rights of non-humans. Transition is a short book, taking me, a slow reader, about five hours to complete.
