Esther E. Schmidt’s Flameover is a fast-paced, biker crossover, romantic suspense, standalone romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes Worlds project.
Esther E. Schmidt is an USA Today bestselling author who loves to write MC (biker) series, Mafia Romance series, PNR series, contemporary romance series, and more. She's a graphic designer that also loves to write. She released her first series "Areion Fury MC" in October 2015. Esther lives in The Netherlands with her family, three daughters, and a crazy iguana. She loves to write about bad boy Alphas with a heart for only one woman. To make it a bit interesting, that woman needs to be a badass herself.
Esther E. Schmidt delivers a scorching hot and suspenseful romance with her brand new release and y'all, I. was. here. for. it. 👏 Flameover is a standalone novella crossing over to a K. Bromberg world and into an infamous MC series by this crazy talented author and after reading this beauty, I'm happy to day that I'm super excited to go meet more of her characters we met along the way, just more in depth the next time.
I've never read Esther before (shocker I know because she's totally my style!!) but I had read Bromberg before. Esther had been on my TBR list and I've always heard such good things from others. And I'm happy to report after this fantastic journey, I went to see what I had of hers already and made a list of what didn't and needed to buy. This romance was THAT BRILLIANT and that dang addicting.
Packed with loads of heart, heat, steam, twists, and all of the feels, right from the very start... Flameover tells Lee and Kain's story. What started as a one night stand between these two ends up turning into so much more than they ever could have imagined.
A couple little white lies never hurt anyone and a scorching time that neither will ever forget, well fate is going to run full circle for these two and being them back together. It definitely won't be easy and it's gonna get all kinds of complicated (and super, super smoking HOT!!!!) but Lee and Kain, it was sooooo very worth every single moment that these two gave y'all.
Esther E. Schmidt delivered quite the epic romance packed in a small, unforgettable, unputdownable ride. I'm so so glad I took a chance on this standalone and I can't wait to dive back into her words soon!
Kaine was an orphaned baby and grew up in the MC World. After having a one night stand, he told a lie that definitely came to bite him again. The next morning the women is gone he has no idea how his kid would charge his life 😬
After having a one night stand with Kaine, Lee finds out she's pregnant but can't get ahold of because of the fake name he gave her. Now four years later she and Kaine meet again when her house is set on fire and what a way to tell the guy you had a one night stand with that he has a daughter.
I think this was my favourite read so far in this series. I loved this authors books and because it has some MC vibe I loved. This book had me sucked in from the beginning till the end. Definitely a book I can recommend for Esther's fans and definitely one that I will be reading again.
Kain is a versatile man who lives in three different worlds. He was raised in the Broken Deeds MC, is a successful businessman and is also a firefighter. Four years ago, he spent a steamy evening with a woman he has never forgotten, and no one was more surprised than he when the fire he is sent to fight brings her back into his life.
Leontine is going through a stressful time in her life so having her and her daughter’s house involved in a fire is exactly what she didn’t need in her life. Things are about to get a lot more complicated as the danger is far from over and now that she and Kain are reunited she has a secret to share.
Fate has brought them back together under the most unlikely of circumstances for a second chance. Now that Lee is back in his life there is nothing that Kain won’t do to not only keep her safe but convince her to stay.
Im going to sound a broken record again. But what can I do? Esther did it again. And this story was extra interesting, because... Well, you know a story can be like a puzzle. You're trying to put pieces together. I was super excited, when some pieces I got right. I love Kain. He can be a bossy a$$, but he for sure can make your heart to flutter. Even when he's bossy. Here a bit of spoilers. There is villains. Honestly, they annoyed the heck out of me. Their reasons for what they did. *face palm*. I feel they got off too easy. Honestly, I feel stabby. It was fast read, but it has everything and it wasn't rushed. And I can't wait for other second generation story.
Flameover is an excellent read from this author and a great addition to The Everyday Heroes World.
Lee and Kain have a one night stand. Fate brings them back together four years later when she moves to his hometown. Kain a firefighter gets more than he ever thought possible a house fire reunited them. Although they both told some little white lies he’s determined to not lose her again.
Fantastic story that I literally inhaled. I didn’t want to put it down and I didn’t want it to finish.
Cute story of accidentally reconnecting with a ONS...Lee was candid and immediately confessed that her three-year old is Kain’s, from their brief encounter in Vegas. He gave her someone else’s name (a friend), when she tried to ring ‘Grady’, she was advised that Grady was a married man. She dismissed him as a married man, cheater and unacceptable father material.
Arson, attempted murder and mayhem.
Denise at three, her communication skills were far too advanced, more in line with a significantly older child.

What a rollercoaster of emotions. We go from a hot one Nightstand to a meeting in the middle of a fire. I enjoyed the very busy and intense story in this book. I have Always enjoyed the brotherhood and dedication from MC books. I enjoyed the side characters as much as I enjoyed the main characters. Kain’s family, fellow fireman and MC brothers Not only had his back but were very supportive to Lee and Demi. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading another book by this author.
I knew going in this had a surprise baby theme and one night stand. Little did I know the details aside from the fake names. So Leontine sorta planned on being a single mom as timing would have it she meets Kain aka "Grady". Hot guy instead of the donor route. She seeked him out found about the wrong name. Chance has it they meet again from a fire.
It's interesting though plot wise. I mean I don't know about the MC mentioned here that Kain is part of. Also he's rich and a firefighter. So I questioned some stuff, ok a lot of it. I'm surprised he was more open to be lied to about the heroine being on the pill on their first encounter and the resulting kid. Granted he felt bad about the fake name. At least that was dealt with early on. They both lied to get it rolling. This happens so not too shocked on that. More on rhe MC being hired by the government to solve unclosed cases was hmmm ? for me.
They got chemistry I'll give them that. I don't mind MC romances but this was just odd for me, I wasn't sure if it was a firefighter or a MC romance. I like these idea behind the Everyday Heroes World, as the original was good. I wanted more of the firefighter stuff, this was an ok start for me in that world. Guessing many others had no issue. Liked it enough. A cameo from a familiar face from Sunnyville.

When Leontine and Kain have a hot night, they're left with unintended, and on Kain's part, unknown, consequences. Unfortunately for both of them, neither gave each other their real name, nor did they exchange other pertinent info like oh say, phone number, etc. So it must be fate that 4 years later, one of the firefighters on the scene of her house fire is her ONS.
Kain has never regretted anything more than giving his beautiful one night goddess a fake name. Now he's face to face with not just her, but the result of that night, and he knows one thing - he's not letting go, of either of them, now that he's found her again. But will he and his club be able to protect them from forces seeming intent on taking them out?
I liked the premise of this story, and the secondary characters, and Lee too, but I had a serious problem with Kain. He was bossy, not in a good way, presumptuous, and did absolutely no character growth. He's why the 3.5 stars. Everyone and everything else is a solid 4 stars - the suspense, the chemistry between Lee and Kain, and the setting up of more stories to come.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is very entertaining, easy to read, and is a ‘feel-good’ story as well.
Both lead characters are easy to like and I really did. Zain is very alpha but how could he not be given his upbringing in the Broken Deeds MC. He is extremely protective and supportive, caring, and yet although he appears controlling at times isn’t, he encourages Lee to make major decisions herself. Lee is a nurturing and supportive person too. Yet she doesn’t sit down and let Zain push his own agenda.
The element of suspense kept things hopping with arson, mystery, and intrigue. Yes, it was fairly predictable in this area but there were some little twists adding some surprises. There are certainly times where you sit back and enjoy the fast-paced storyline and others when you are on the edge of your seat.
I can honestly say I recommend this to everybody. What could be better than having a fireman, an MC, a millionaire or two, suspense and romance?
I simply adored this book. Flameover is a combination between a contemporary romance and an MC Romance told in Esther’s unique way of telling a story. The book is full of fun, sass, suspense and romance. It’s one of those reads that you just smile and feel good the entire time you’re reading it - even during the suspenseful moments.
Kain is a firefighter, a member of the MC world he was brought up in as a child, as well as a very rich business owner. During a business trip he literally bumps into Leontine in his hotel’s lobby. An instant spark happens and they end up spending one unforgetting night together. But due to women pursuing Kain for his money, he gives Leontine a fake name rather than his own. Little does he know that little white lie will come back to turn his whole world upside down 4 years later. From here the story takes off on one exciting journey.
I Highly recommend grabbing up Flameover. It’s a wonderful read that you’ll be very glad you grabbed up. 2 Thumbs Up and 5+ Stars.
5 Star Review Flameover by Esther E Schmidt Esther E Schmidt is a new author to me and how I have not come across her before I have no idea. This was a fun and entertaining read that kept me invested from the first to the last page. Set in K Bromberg’s Everyday Hero series, I have found a number of new authors. This is Kain and single mum Leontine’s story. Kain is a billionaire and as so many women only want him for his money, he often gives a fake name. That’s what happens when he and Leontine get together. Imagine her surprise when she suddenly comes face to face with him again after years of searching. This was a well written story that ticked the boxes for me. The banter between them was fun and the chemistry sizzled. This was a heart warming story which left me with a smile on my face.
Flameover is the best of both worlds intertwined between Everyday Heroes and Broken Deeds MC. What else could you want when you have a firefighter who is a member of an MC, all boxes ticked. Kain and Leontine’s story is packed full of lies, secrets and deception. A story that is angsty, witty, passionate and the chemistry is sparking off the pages. Kain will not only have your skin tingling but will have your pulse racing. Leontine has an inner strength that is inspiring and a compassionate heart. This story will warm your heart and have you wanting more of both of these worlds. A great five star addition to the town of Sunnyville.
Flameover...one night, fake names, passion and completely unforgettable. Kain is a man living two lives. He is a firefighter and a powerful successful business man. When he meets a woman he is more than cautious. Leontine had shared a night she can't forget with a mystery man 4 years ago but fate is about to step in . Get ready for our alpha Kain to once again claim this mystery woman. This was a smoldering, sexy read ! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
Little lies always come back , it always happens. Can Kain and Leontine overcome them? Really good story I liked the build up and it did not let me down.
I'm not a reviewer that rehashes the story, if you're reading the reviews you know what it's about. I'll tell you what I look for in a review: what I liked (or didn't) about the story. For me, it felt rushed and a little disconnected. The Hero is into so many things that I never really got a good feel for any of them: we didn't spend any time at the firehouse, no time in Vegas, and very little time at the clubhouse. We didn't really see him interact with any of the buddies/brother's in any of the environments except brief encounters with Grady, Kain's brother, and Kain's parents. The same is true for our leading lady, we didn't see her interactions with anyone either. I have not read many motorcycle club books and only saw a few Son's of Anarchy episodes. I have minimal knowledge of the structure and hierarchy. I have no more knowledge after reading this book than I had before, leaving me feeling a little disappointed. It was a decent read, and I'm giving it 3 stars instead of less because the issues I have are my personal preferences and expectations, not a lack of skill or effort from the author. There is nothing wrong with the writing style or the plot itself. This is my first book by this author, but I plan to find the MC books to see if I enjoy them. I may even revisit Flameover after reading the rest to see if I enjoy it more.
Just 12 chapters but the author packs a lot of story into those 12 chapters. Sorry to say it felt like one big advertisement for her MC series. Having never met before, the couple are in bed for a one night stand after only sharing a handful of words together 🤦🏻♀️ This isn’t insta love. Just a hookup that has future consequences. The author couldn’t make up her mind if this was an MC trope, a small town hero or a Millionaire bachelor trope, so she made it all 3. The love scenes lack imagination and we are told they are explosive but we don’t get invited into the room with them. The characters lacked chemistry because the author never developed their relationship. She did involve the Malone brothers from the original books. I like that she didn’t take creative liberties with the original author’s town of Sunnyville. She stayed true to the original storyline.

A quick hot steamy firefighter/MC/accidental pregnancy story that ticks every good romance box.
Alpha male business man/firefighter/MC member An explosive one night stand in Vegas Accidental pregnancy Small town romance
Kain is sick of women only wanting him for his money, so when he bumps into Lee (Leontine) and the sparks are flying, he makes a wrong decision and gives her his friends name instead of his own. When he wakes in the morning, determined for this to be the start of something, and decides to tell Lee the truth, he finds the sheets cold and a note saying thanks.
Three years later, after the sudden unexpected death of her father, Lee moves herself and her young daughter to the small town she knows Kain lives, although she’s angry at him, after trying to contact him to tell him about the pregnancy, only to be told he was married, she wants to raise her daughter close to him. What she wasn’t expecting was to come face to face with him when her house is on fire, only to find another man answering when she says his name.
In Kain’s eyes, the past is the past and although he wishes he’d done things different and been there for his daughter from the start, now that Lee and their daughter are here, he’s claiming them, which means keeping them safe from the trouble that seems to have been following them for a while.
Great characters, a hot, racy, quick read with a bossy (sometimes annoyingly, sometimes rudely but mostly, excitingly so) alpha male, a funny, clumsy, sweet heroine, their adorable daughter and a whole host of others. A great read and a fantastic addition to the Everday Heroes World.
This is the first book I have read in the Everyday Heroes World series. If this is an indication this series is going to be amazing. I absolutely love Esther and her writing. This one shows off her talents perfectly. Kain is a man who leads two lives. One life is him being a normal firefighter in a small town. The other life is him being a billionaire owning a business. It leads both of them very well. He doesn't date or do relationships because he believes that most of the woman are just after his money once they realize who he is. So when he meets Leontine at the hotel he owns he gives her a fake name. Little does he know that will come back to haunt him. Leontine has lost someone important to her. She moves to the same town that Kain lives in to start over. But she isn't really given the chance. Something happens to her house before she can even get unpacked. This incident brings Kain back into her life. They both are forced to tell each other the truth. What will happen when the truth comes out? Will these two get happy ever after? I absolutely loved the storyline. I loved that Esther threw in a little mystery to keep you on the edge of your seat. Who is out to hurt Leontine? The chemistry between Leontine and Kain was off the charts hot and easily believable. These two were perfect for each other. I highly recommend reading this one. I cant wait to read more from this series.
One of the things I’m loving about K. Bromberg’s new Everyday Heroes World is finding new authors and Esther E. Schmidt is yet another new author to me and once again I’m left wondering why I haven’t read her before now, well that’s about to change. Kain is a man who lives two life’s, he is a firefighter in his small town but he is also a billionaire with his own business and both life’s work extremely well for him. A man who is not looking for a relationship because he is worried women will only want him for his money often leads to him giving fake names and that’s exactly what he did to Leontine, after all he was never going to see her again. Leontine needs a fresh start and she ends up in the small town Kain calls home so what happens when she comes face to face with the firefighter when an accident happens in the house she has just moved into and how will the man she searched for all those years ago react when he sees Leontine and her daughter..... This book ticked all my boxes, I loved the characters, the plot and the banter, the chemistry is scorching hot and there are some classic one liners only a child can deliver. If you are looking for an entertaining, exciting read with wonderful characters look no further than Flameover you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend this gem of a read and I’m looking forward to reading more by this author and more in The Everyday Heroes World.
🄵🄻🄰🄼🄴🄾🅅🄴🅁 was definitely a roller-coaster of emotions for me! This was my first book by Esther E Schmidt and I LOVED it!!! It took parts of the Broken Deeds MC books and from the Everyday Heros.
Kain is a part of the Broken Deeds MC ( in which he is a multi millionaire owning a ritzy hotel in Las Vegas) and works as a firefighter as well.
The story begins with a one night stand with a woman, Leontine, not knowing who she's really asked to be her one night stand ( Kain, Owner of the hotel she's staying in). What doesn't help matters either is that they each gave a fake name. Their story starts with lies, deception and secrets.
Fast forward 4 years and Lee has recently moved to her home town where her father had recently died and she is living in his home trying to decide what to do with the multi million dollar company that was his life. This new town also happens to be where Kain lives.
When these two meet again the passion and chemistry from their one night stand hasn't changed it's only stronger. You can literally feel the heat and passion the Kain exudes leap of the pages at you! Lee is an absolutely strong and amazing woman.
Their story will warm your heart. ❤
I'd like to thank the author Esther E. Schmidt and Greys Promotion for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is a second gen story . If you remember Kaine was an orphaned baby in Depay’s book . He grew up to be the main character for Flameover. He has a one night stand and gives the woman the wrong name . When he wakes up in the morning and she is gone and he has no idea that their night together got her pregnant . Unfortunately when Lee tries to find Kain she can’t because of the fake name he gave . I love the secret baby trope and this one was a bit different because Lee wasn’t intentionally keeping the child from Kain . I loved their sweetness and their chemistry together . Their daughter was adorable and to see the original generation make an appearance as grandparents in this story was really neat to see . This author just keeps putting out fantastic stories . I have never read one that wasn’t good . This is a totally different book from any of her others and yet we still get a peak at the original Mc members . I was hooked from the first page . You can’t go wrong with an Esther Schmidt book. Pick this one up ! I am so excited to see who is going to be the focus of the next book in this series .
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is very entertaining, easy to read and is a ‘feel good’ story as well.
Both lead characters are easy to like and I really did. Zain is very alpha but how could he not be given his upbringing in the Broken Deeds MC. He is extremely protective and supportive, caring and yet although he appears controlling at times isn’t, he encourages Lee to make major decisions herself. I can honestly say I recommend this to everybody. What could be better than having a fireman, an MC, a millionaire or two, suspense and romance?
If you're looking for an intense, shmekshay, intriguing, and very enjoyable read, look no further than Flameover by Esther E. Schmidt which will absolutely tick every single one of those boxes and more! Flameover exists in the Everyday Heroes World and with each book I read set in Sunnyville I fall more and more in love!
This story is all about Kain and Leontine and I am here for it! From their meet cute to the emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey that they take the reader on, it's all worth it!
And from the very start, Kain is fascinating! He's an onion, so many layers to peel, such hidden depths, and very pleasing to read about to boot. No holds barred and all that jazz really add to his character! He's perhaps made some choices he might regret, but at the same time, doesn't everyone do that at some point?
And sweet sweet Lee. I just want to bundle her up in a blanket and hug and cuddle her! She is so strong and sweet and vivacious beneath the exterior she shows the rest of the world. And Denise! Too cute!
There's a whole lot of drama and intensity, as well as a plethora of love and friendship and devotion! This book will hit the spot, I guarantee it!
What an intense and hot story this was from beginning to end! This story keeps you on your toes wondering what is going to happen next. I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting. Kain and Lee were explosive together from there first in counter until they met again four years later! These two both told a few lies for their own reasons but were able to both take accountability for they choices and were able to move forward. Kain is not only a MC Biker/firefighter but also has so many other layers to him. I loved seeing the original members in this story and how Roan and Lynn were there for Lee to show her what being an Old Lady is like, plus Lee surprising Kain with a certain tradition in the Broken Deeds MC! Also this was a great introduction to the new generation of the Broken Deeds MC. Cant wait for this new series and can I say I def cant wait for Jabba's story. Another 5 star read. "Never stall on spending time with those who spark your life. Grab the moment before your time is up and the chance is lost forever."
This book is part of the Everyday Heroes World by K. Bromberg. Just like all of Esther’s other books I loved it. A one-night stand between Leontine and Kain with some complications leads to a pregnancy. Only Leontine doesn’t know Kain’s real name and can’t find him to tell him. Four years later after a personal loss she moves to his home town. Leontine meets him when her house catches on fire. She wasn’t prepared for meeting him again. Once the confused is cleared up Kain doesn’t plan on letting her slip through his fingers again. Someone is after Leontine and their daughter. Kain isn’t going to let anything happen to them. Will they be able to figure out who is after them and stop them of will they be too late? I love the characters in this book so much. Leontine and Kain are fantastic. They have amazing chemistry. This a glimpse into the second generation of Esther’s other MC’s as well. I can’t wait to read about the kids and grandkids of the other MC’s. Esther has written another fantastic book. I can’t say enough about her books or recommend them enough. Great job Esther.
4.6 stars This is one scorcher of a read that will keep you on your toes. It can be read in one sitting because once started, you will not want to put it down. There are so many layers to Kain due to his upbringing that it allows him to bring the love that Lee needs into her life and shows her what it means to have family. He is a good guy through and through combined with that take-charge attitude that one expects from an alpha male. With everything that Lee is going through, she definitely knows how to hold her own. Adding in a precious three-year-old into the mix, only serves to give readers another reason to feel good about this story. This is my first foray into the Everyday Heroes World created by K. Bromberg and I cannot wait to read more! I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
When I read the blurb, I had idea this books was connected to Broken Deeds. I probably would have read the entire series again😀
It was so awesome to see the first of the second generation call in love and I loved it even more that it was Kain. Losing his dad the way he did and becoming part of Broke's family and ND brought back annually and dad memories. I'm so happy were getting to see what happened with the kids.
This story was short and cute. I love when old flames come back together and this "one night stand turned life partners" was especially cute...add in a little girl and you've got a great HEA. I'm happy that the whole "mis-communication, lies" issue was resolved quickly. I hate when a story is drawn out by the whole hurt feelings thing. This story comes together like a box with a decorative bow.
