I read both the light novel and graphic novel adaptation, I do prefer the light novel due to details and some things being omitted from the graphic novel (ie. pacing differences, and the exclusion of certain things SPOILER like how they eventually learn that Patricia was not in fact infertile and do have children).
I didn't mind the graphic novel leaving out the parts of them having children because I do feel that we need to ease out of the mindset of it being shameful to be infertile. I understand some women truly desire to have their own children, but it's not a character flaw to be infertile, or to not desire children. It also seemed out of the blue as a resolution since: 1) the court had requested fertility tests, so did everyone just assume she was infertile? Because the previous testing was only known by Rosemund, Lucio, and Patricia, so the rest of the court didn't know it was "confirmed". 2) Rosemund ordered all the physicians to be killed, how did one escape that?
There's a lot of back and forth discussions on Lucio as a victim and a perpetrator. Him being a victim of abuse does not forgive him of what harm he did, however I feel like people keep ignoring the scope of his abuse, you can't condemn him for being manipulated by attention and affection after something like that. I did like how both the light novel especially, and the graphic novel, didn't sweep their respective traumas under the rug. They're still recovering even after the end of the story. I particularly like how even during Rosemund's execution her hold on Lucio is still seen and felt.
I really like how the light novel had a glimpse into what the future of the empire would've looked like where Rosemund had the whole family executed and became empress. She clearly had no intention of holding the position as a responsibility, only for the glory and prestige, so obviously it all came crashing down where she spent to much and did to little so her and the emperor were executed after a rebellion. A shame since the emperor was competent besides anything regarding her, but deserved. I would've liked to see it drawn out in the graphic novel but I don't know how it would've fit.
Overall, decent story. I did reread it. I wouldn't remember the name for a while so it was hard to find a second time but apparently I read another story by the same author, also good.
I don't know if I liked it. I liked the premise from the beginning but I probably would've enjoyed a more revenge oriented story rather than an eventual romance (since I don't like romance) so it definitely started to lose my interest the more it redeemed Lucio.

Bye all I have to say is all the male characters expect Ross, Peter and nilla & Tricia’s father and maybe the the ML are wackos/sickening!!! They way they treat woman is terrible. Anyways it was a happy ending but to me the it took the ML too long to find the right person for him which was the FL. Also glad that ms rosemund is gone sorry not sorry ✌️.Sigh anyways again all love to nilla and Tricia 😋😋.
