The Witches of Oz Witch Queens: Dark new series that reimagines the Oz saga...
EAST: The four daughters of the King were each given land to prove themselves worthy of being selected as the heir to the entire kingdom. When munchkins start turning up dead, Indy- Queen of the East, knows that she has to do something drastic. Swallowing her pride, Indy approaches the only man for the job. He is one badass, sexed up, tattooed, six-ft-four piece of man meat that they call Scarecrow.
NORTH: Sent to rule over the Lion-shifters, Mombi- Queen of the North, knows that she will never truly be accepted as one of their own. What is worse, Jake- the Lion King, is missing, and rumor is that he left because of her. The pride is now under Dorothy's control.
SOUTH: Prince Gregory has been sneaking into the Emerald City and pretending to be the ‘great and powerful Oz.’ His real intention is to be near Glinda- Queen of the South, whom he has loved since he was a child. But true love doesn’t seem to follow the yellow brick road. Will these two ever have a chance when her sisters hate everything about him?
WEST: Elphaba- Queen of the West, has had just enough of Steele’s lies and games. The immortal broke her heart once, and it won’t happen again. His name might be Steele, but he’s nothing but a heartless Tin Man. And she is one queen that won’t be melting at his feet.
The new girl, Dorothy, must die. Don't be fooled by her pigtails and sparkly stolen shoes. She's a killer, who has been wreaking havoc in the land of Oz. The four Witch Queens must come together to defeat Dorothy once and for all and discover where each of their destinies lies.

So I originally had this book marked as "to read" on radish. But I never actually read it since I don't pay for coins. I was really excited to read this. My notes are parts of the review.
PART 1 EAST: (Indy & Scarecrow) -Scarecrow is the equivalent of a bad ass MC character OZ Edition -Insta Lust - Longest and most developed couple focus - I loved how Indy took on the Munchkins -Really liked both of the characters individually and as a couple - In the original, Scarecrow needs a brain, in this version he doesn't.
PART 2 NORTH: (Mobi & Jake) -Unlike the original Jake only appears to lacks courage - Jake and Mobi are mates (think shifter romance) - Their story focused more on pack issues rather than Dorthy. - Fell in love quickly/not as developed or interesting as previous couple -Not enough emotional/mental/non-physical connection
PART 3 SOUTH: (Glinda & Gregory) - Her and Gregory have a had thing for years -Gregory sort of gave up on their relationship after waiting for years. So Glinda gets him back by seduction. - I think they were a compatible couple but Gregory wasn't all there for me.
PART 4 WEST: (Elphaba & Steele) -Steele is a vampire (who doesn't drink blood) - Elphaba has pet monkey soldiers just like in the original - This was more like a second chance romance - I really enjoyed this couples banter/dialogue - I liked the plot with this couple the best
PART 5 AND OVERALL OPINION: Part 5 was a good wrap up for this book. I loved the unicorn drama, it made things interesting and unique. Dorthy wasn't as frequent throughout the book as i though she would be. I loved Indy's character development and how she became the queen she was meant to be. Only Indy and Scarecrow's story is over 7 chapters. So the other three couples were massively shortened and sadly a little lacking. It would have been better for the author to have a few more chapters on the other 3 couples. All of the males are possessive. My favorite couples were Indy & Scarecrow and Elphaba & Steele. The other two couples were just generic. Sadly, this book didn't wow me like i originally thought it would. This was more of an enjoyable read than an amazing one. Although i think the author executed the OZ retelling well. I liked the epilogue but I do wish there would have been individual epilogues per couple. Overall I'm rating this book 3.5 stars. P.S. In this retelling the witches aren't really witches, but rather women with magic. So, this book isn't witchy.
I seriously loved this more than I ever thought I would. I love the Wizard of Oz, so I figured I’d at least be entertained by a spicy retelling. Boy was I ever!!! The four witch queens of Oz and their men are oh so very fun to read about. They cracked me up!! But most importantly, there were lots and lots of steamy scenes…
When I say a lot of steamy scenes, I mean a lot. In a good way!!! Well, at least for me!! lol… The couples covered so many fetishes that it was kind of crazy. For a bit there, there was a some boots knocking every fifteen pages or so. They just kept coming and each was just as entertaining as the last. It was also fairly corny, but it worked really well. Made things funny rather than blah.
With so much loving going on you’d think the plot would suffer, but nope. I thought the plot moved along at a perfectly lovely pace. The witch sisters trying to defeat Dorothy was super funny, full of magic, shape shifting, and all kinds of fantasy fun!!
I highly recommend this to those who love sexy time stories that have fantasy elements or those who love Wizard of Oz retellings with a hell of a lot of sex. I can’t wait to read more from this author!!!
I absolutely loved this Oz retelling. I loved the characters and their snarkiness. I laughed and giggled my way thru this book. I will definitely read more of the series. My only complaint is that the author needs to do some editing. However, the errors didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book.
This was an alright read. This is the first book of the Dark Fairy Tales series. This book retells the story of Oz. In this book, the four daughters of the King of Oz are given land to prove to him who is ready to be the next heir to the Kingdom of Oz. In the meantime, Dorothy is wreaking havoc in the land of Oz, and it is up to the four sisters aka "Witch Queens" to defeat her and discover where their destinies lie. I thought the story was okay. I did find some of the story fast-paced, but I thought it did not need to be as heavy in the steamy scenes. I thought having Dorothy as the villain was interesting, and I liked the twists in the story. I thought the world could have been developed more. I thought the characters were good. I really liked the twins: Indy and Elphaba. They were both interesting because their personalities differed, but their bond was pure and genuine. Also, I thought Glinda and Mombi were good additions to the story. I liked that each sister got a guy, and that their personalities also differed for the heroines of the story. I thought the ending was good. I might continue to read the series because it will be interesting to see how the other fairy tales are reimagined. Overall, an okay read.
What a sexy, fun, clever retelling of the witches, Oz, the trio, and Dorothy! But one star off for the poor editing/grammar and how it lost me a bit at the end cause it was just so long.
You'll never look at The Wizard of Oz the same way--especially the Scarecrow! The overall idea is from the classic movie, but it owes more to the hugely-popular musical "Wicked" where Dorothy is the bad guy and the witches are considered the good guys (or at least, not as bad). Their kingdom is at stake. All four witch queens get their own interwoven, related stories but most of the focus is on Indy (formerly known as the Wicked Witch of the East).
There's a lot going on--murdered Munchkins, political intrigue, and a lot of red-hot sex. There are familiar characters that turn out to be very different. Scarecrow is one of those characters that you think you know--some of the basics are the same, but he's not stuffed with straw. He's a big, inked biker who can make Indy melt with one glance (and maybe a smirk).
A really fun idea that’s nicely developed and well written. I first read part of this on Radish, but I like having it all together in book form here.
The stories in the collection will stick with you, for a good reason; these are not your parents' fairy tales. Oz is not a place for children and each of the sections here deal with the various locations referenced in the original work as the witches controlling those areas. It's a darker version and definitely for adults. S. Cinders is extremely talented, gifted with the ability to transport the reader into the story. This makes it possible for you to see the characters and witness scenes and events as they unfold.
Fantastic read. Well written and delightfully thought out plot. Kept me awake all night. Cannot wait to read another of this author's books!
I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I love the switch on this classic tale. Dorothy is no shrinking violet, innocent and lost in a land unknown. The witches four, sisters who are doing their upmost to protect their kingdoms.
It seems that the main focus was initially on Indy and Scarecrow, and then short bursts were dedicated to the other three sisters and their men. Those short bursts focusing on the others felt rushed.
There were sections I had issues with, where major plot points (Dorothy and the wand for instance) were glossed over.
All in all, I did enjoy this book and found the premise to be pretty entertaining. I’m looking forward to checking out the sequel!

This is the first book I have read by the author. The burb sounded interesting and something that I would of loved to read about a different take of the wizard of oz, but I was disappointed. The plot was there but there wasn’t anything behind it. The relationship between the main character was extremely fasted paced it seemed that they that barely said a word to each before they were in bed together. The dialogue between the pair wasn’t engaging. There was minimal character development. It would of been nice to read more about the kingdom. I was skimming through most of the book and it was hard to finish the book
I quite enjoyed these this is a Kinky little tales of the four witches of Oz. They are interconnected but each part focuses on a certain sister but they are all coming together to make Dorothy leave because she's just causing havoc in all the lands. These are erotic stories interwoven into getting rid of the big bad

What an awesome new adaptation to a classic story. I went into this read blind as I've not read this author previously, but what an awesome surprise. The story flows really well. The characters were incredible and each personality jumped out and grabbed you. I really enjoyed the story and am looking forward to reading more from S Cinders.

It had a perfect combination of witty phrase and cunning allusions to the original Wizard of Oz Tales-- and I don't just mean the Judy Garland movie version, I mean the books-- and sexy humor and appeal. Totally enjoyed it.

Omg! I love this take on the tales from Oz! The plot is fantastic, the characters are awesome and I was hooked from the start! As a huge fan of fairytale retelling I cannot wait to continue reading more from this author!
Omg I wanted to like this so bad but I honestly wanted to experience more of the world and characters and I felt like it was just missing all the good stuff that I love. No build. The characters seemed awesome but it was just missing a lot. Not for me.
Love the twist the author put on the wizard of oz. It was soo fun to read a book where Dorthy is the bad guy. Love all the Fmcs and thier men. Great twist to the original story and some seriously steamy scences.
alerta de material radioativo ⚠️ eu tô perplexa com essa releitura de "o mágico de oz" kkkkk nada se salva nesse livro. nada. um festival de obscenidades e uma palhaçada só. cruzes
EXCELLENT twisted version of The Wizard of Oz. The author is absolutely brilliant with how she carefully wove each character into the well-known and loved original characters but at the same time gave each one a new identity. A new perspective of what ACTUALLY could have gone down with Dorthy and the Land of Oz.
Each couple is perfect for each other. Everyone having their own flaws, but each couple has one that is skilled in what the other may lack.
Scarecrow, I believe, is the best twist. What he actually is, I definitely did not see coming, and it was a pleasant surprise.
I have always had a soft spot for Elpheba, and in this twisted version, that did not change. She 100% was my favorite character even though Indy does come close second.
Each sister goes through a transformation. They each slowly see that they are worthy, they may all be a little wicked, but they are equally loving.
The spicy scenes are A++ . Loved them! Especially Scarecrow and Indy!!!
The ending of the book is absolutely perfect. It wraps up the storyline nicely as well as adds in humor and a touch of the "original" story of Wizard of Oz. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves Wizard of Oz, but wants a twisted version!
I don't generally leave a bad review. If a book isn't to my liking I just don't leave a review thinking it just wasn't my type of book. But this one had me hoping I didn't waste a bunch of money because I read Jabberwocky first ,liked it so bought the whole series. This book was choppy ,disjointed, had so many missed words or typos that I had to pause, reread parts to try to make sense of it.The writing style was very juvenile, like fan fiction. It seemed like it was written by someone else or a very early work.Sorry, this was not my favorite thing.
This was definitely not the Oz land I remember. It was very interesting how the author kept all the instances of the original story but skewed the perspective completely. Scarecrow was so hot ! The steamy parts were really steamy. Do yourself a favor and find out how Oz really was.
This book came up in search of more good romances and fantasies, so I like all the romance scenes. It's not too much if that's what you are looking for. The title says (Dark Fairy Tales), but I felt that with 4 happy endings, it seemed pretty light to me. It was a fun retelling. The epilogue was pretty funny, too.
Another incredible story from S Cinders! You’ll love this re-imagination of OZ more than the original. Incredible wordsmithing, she takes you on a ride through the tail that grabs you from the beginning and pulls you straight through to the end. Unexpected surprises, and incredible love stories.
I love the Wizard of Oz retelling, it’s even mentioned the original book was written by this story’s “Dorothy” to give them all a bad name. Here Dorthy was no innocent young girl, she was quite the the opposite. Scandalous and murderous to be exact.

Did not finish this one. I was excited to read a twisted tale about one of my favorite childhood stories "The Wizard of Oz" but was disappointed. The premise was interesting, but got too confusing with all the characters and details.

A story needs more than poorly written spice. This could have been such a better read with more with character development and more description on the land of Oz.
