Violet
I don’t know how I let my best friend talk me into spending my hard-earned vacation time in the middle of nowhere Alaska. She has some crazy idea about setting me up with one of the guy’s at her fiancé’s lodge. Or, as she likes to call it, Camp Mountain Man.

But after being burned by the opposite sex more than my fair share, I have zero interest in hooking up with anyone.

That is until I have an awkward confrontation—involving my unmentionables—with the hottest man I’ve ever seen.

Silas
Every woman I’ve loved before has left me. So I’ve made a life for myself here in the Alaskan wilderness. I never needed anyone else.

Until I get into a tug-of-war match including a gorgeous, curvy lady and a bright red bit of lace. Then, I can’t think about anything but her.

Yet I know once I have her, I won’t be able to let her go again. I just have to make her see that she can let her guard down with me.

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I absolutely love it.

Silas meets Violet when she comes to Alaska as Jules guest. Jules wanted to introduce Violet to Silas but she gets caught up with Noah. Violet walks into the resort and Silas takes her to her room, when they go to get her luggage it opens up and she clothing goes all over. He helps her pick it up and then takes her to her room. Jules goes on a hiking excursion while Jules and Noah go to Anchorage. Another one of the hikers tries to talk to Violet, he offers to be her buddy. Silas warns her and her buddy about the path ahead when she turns to look at him she stumbles backwards and falls off the cliff. Silas jumps over the edge to help her while her buddy just stands there. Silas checks her out to make sure she's not hurt before he carries her back up. Violet tells him she only hurt her ankle, he tells her he has her and won't let anything happen to her. She spends three days in bed as doctors orders, Jules checks on Violet but Silas bring her her meals. When Violet tries to go on a walk Silas tells her she shouldn't be out of bed. She tells him she feels fine so he tells her he'll go with her. Violet asks Silas how he ended up in Alaska. From Silas office he can see that Violet goes out to enjoy the bonfire they are having, so he goes out to join her. She tells him she'll only be sitting by the fire, he tells her he needs to speak to her in private. He kisses her, then asks her to come home with him. When they get to his home he carries her inside, then he lays her on the rug in front of his fireplace. He get the fire going, and the takes off her shirt. Violet tries to cover up and he tells her not to hide from him. He begins to pleasure her, they they make love. They talk throughout the night, the next morning Silas needs to get to work, but she tells him to give her ten minutes. Silas takes a hiking excursion out when one of the guys in the group wonders off, he starts climbing the rocks. Silas goes to go after him when he sees the rocks falling. He pushes the guy out of the way but is buried, it takes them several minutes to pull Silas out. When he wakes Violet looking at him with tears streaming down her face. Violet asks him how he feels, she tells him it took them ten minutes to dig him out. Noah is having the doctor flown in to check him out. The doctor gives Violet strict orders for Silas to rest, after she gives him a pain pill she heads to Jules office. Jules tells Violet to come in, she shows her the latest she is working on. Violet tells her that's why she came to talk to her. Violet asks Jules if she needs someone with marketing skills. Jules asks her if she thinks she knows what she's saying. Jules tells Violet they can build an empire together. Jules asks Violet if her decision doesn't have anything to do with a certain mountain man, she tells her maybe. They shake and decide to work out the details later. Violet heads back to Silas's office, when she round the corner she hears him talking to someone. Violet hears a female voice telling him she missed him and she loves him. When Silas tells the woman he missed her and loves her too. Violet turns and leaves, she can't understand how she could be so stupid to fall so hard again. She heads to her room and starts packing. Silas's sister Bea comes to see him, after Ezra called her to let her know he was injured. Bea asks Silas why he looks so happy, he tells her about Violet. Then Jules comes to find them, she tells Silas overheard them talking and doesn't know that Bea is his sister. Silas asks Jules where she is and she tells him she's in her room packing to leave. Silas goes and knocks on her door, he yells to her that the woman she seen him with is his sister. Soon Violet is opening her door and Silas explains why his sister is here. She tells him she shouldn't have jumped to conclusions but he tells her he understands why she did. Silas tells her he'll never give her reason to doubt him. He tells her he loves her, she tells him she loves him too. Three years later, Silas sits with their two year old son Jaxon, he just fell to sleep. Violet lets out a yell but quickly covers her mouth. After he puts their son down he asks her why she so happy. She tells him the projections for the fourth quarter are in, they are the number one seller of woman athletic wear. Silas tells her he is proud of her and they need to celebrate.

One lacy red bra can take down a Brawny-man Mountain man

Silas is the 3B and 2S type of mountain man - big, bearded, brooding and silent and sexy! He tends not to smile or laugh and he is all about work and living his life the way he wants to. However he recently witnessed his boss Noah get taken down by the small, sweet and sassy Jules when she came to Alaska to stay at the lodge for a trip she had gotten as a bonus from work. All he can think is that Noah is a sap and he is not into that.
Well things change quite quickly when Jules's best friend Violet comes up to stay for a couple of weeks, just to check out that Jules has not been brainwashed by a cult or something. She also wants to check out all the mountain men that Jules has told her about, with Jules having Silas as the one she really wants to introduce Violet to. When Violet enters the lodge she goes to pick up her bag but another hand is already on the handle. All of a sudden there is a spark of electricity that shoots through her and when she looks up all she sees is a huge, bearded and very sexy man looking down at her. As they both drop the bag it springs open spilling all her clothes out, including a red lacy bra which Silas is going to have more than a few dreams, both sleeping and awake, of.
Silas is struck by the beautiful woman that has entered the lodge and when their hands touch he feels that same bolt of electricity. But once he learns it is Violet, Jules' best friend, he has to keep reminding himself that she is off-limits, otherwise Jules and Noah may just kill him. But when another guest starts making a move on Violet and add in that she is injured on a hike on her second day at the lodge, he is going to protect her and keep her safe no matter from what or who. But once they cross the line he knows he will not be letting her go, whether that means she moves to Alaska or he goes to Seattle..........it is happening!!!

Silas is a great second book in the Camp Mountain Man series. It is extremely entertaining, has a nice story-line with some drama, family/friends, adventure and a good amount of steamy hot heat. I quite enjoyed visiting the land where the men are all "Brawny men" lookalikes. This is a recommended read!

Silas

HERO /HEROINE
Violet has been burned by past lovers and is not looking for a romance. She’s only in Alaska because her bestie Jules fell in love, got engaged, and moved her entire life to an isolated mountain resort in Alaska. Violet is there to keep an eye on Jules and make sure Noah is the real deal for her friend.
Silas is described as the strong silent type. Ex-military. Tattoos and gorgeous. Silad wants love, the problem is his hookups always end up being short term and he’s left alone in the end.

REPRESENTATION plus size female main character

OVERALL THOUGHTS This is a short and sweet read. Very fluffy and quick. Not much to the story.

Had some funny, stand out moments.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE There was smut, but it was bland as hell and not very detailed.

Kate Tilney is writing an amazing series! These rugged mountain men are in desperate need of a female's influence. Silas is in Alaska not just for his job at the resort. His soul is wounded, and his heart aches from being left by women he's loved. But the beauty and solitude are working their magic, healing his soul. Violet is coming to Alaska to see her friend and relax, not be set up with a mountain man! The curvy, plus-sized sweetheart has been cheated on by ore than one boyfriend, and isn't looking to get her heart broken again. But true love will not be denied! Silas is a gentle giant with Violet - protective and loving. And Violet gives Silas the gift of her trust and her heart. This is a fast and sexy book, perfect for an escape from reality. I'm really looking forward to reading more!

Violet comes to the lodge at the prompting on her best friend, Jules. She meets Silas and a few other guys staying at the lodge. During a hike she falls and gets hurt. Silas carries her back to the lodge and waits with her until the doctor comes. He checks on her throughout her recovery and the two become closer. Acting on their attraction they start dating and sleeping together. Violet tells him all about being cheated on multiple times and he opens up about his military time. Silas gets hurt while taking a group hiking, rock slide caused by same guy who let Violet fall. Silas’s sister Bea, comes to see him and Violet sees them hugging and saying i love you. She fears the worst and starts packing to go home. Jules helps clear up the misunderstanding. Cute epilogue with kids and success of Jules’s clothing line.

If you like strong silent, burly men in flannel mixed with the beautiful backdrop of the great outdoors, this is your story. I promises to warm you up while melting your heart.

Silas move to Alaska to find the peace after serving several tours in the military. Violet came to visit her friend Jules and to get away from the mess that her life had become. They both have had their issue with love, but I enjoyed that they were able to talk to each other and explain their past. This allowed Silas more understanding when Violet was on the edge of bolting, even if his sister did not.

Camp Mountain Man is a great series that and seems to get better and better with each story.

Book two of the Camp Mountain Man series features Violet and Silas. They both have baggage from past hurts that affects their ability to trust and to jump into a relationship but the instant attraction is still there. This is an extremely short book so the story moves quickly. There still is time to feel their connection. Like in book one, there is a misunderstanding (although it is different than in book one) which almost tanks the relationship but they do get their HEA, So if you want a quick, feel good read and only have a short time before you need to shut the lights out, this would be a good choice. I'd probably check this out on KU since it is only 36 pages but less that a dollar is still not bad.

This story is about Violet and Silas meeting in the Alaskan wilderness. Both of them have their reasons for getting away from everything. Silas just wanted to find peace and acceptance that he didn’t need anyone in his life. Violet had been burned too many times to trust in relationships anymore.

Violet reluctantly agrees to go to Alaska with her best friend who hopes to hook her up with a mountain man. She meets Silas and there is a definite attraction between them. Now it is up to Silas to convince the untrusting Violet that the past doesn’t have to define the future and that she can trust him with her heart! Will Violet give him a chance to show her the HEA that could be waiting for them?

This was a sweet and steamy romance about a curvy girl who meets her match with a quiet hunky mountain man. When Violet comes to the lodge for a vacation and bumps into Silas, the attraction was instant. Her best friend Jules told her there were handsome men at 'Camp Mountain Man but she didn't believe it until she witnessed it herself. But she only have eyes for one...Silas. After that fated encounter(with fantasies on both sides), the two get to know one another. Several accidents around the camp makes their bond even stronger that leads to a satisfying HEA. The epilogue was wonderful. I really enjoyed reading this part of he series and cant wait to see what Hank's story is about.

Silas came to Alaska looking for a peaceful and quiet life after leaving the military. Violet heads to Camp Mountain Man for a two week vacation. She slips while on a hike; nothing serious, but she's on bed rest for a few days while her ankle heals. This is another sexy little story in the series. I like that Silas and Violet are open and hones about their pasts, and why they have trust issues. I also love the support that Violet gets from her friend Jules. The book is just steamy enough, and an enjoyable quick read.

Violet is taking a vacation and going with her friend, Jules to the mountains of Alaska. Jules thinks that Violet will hit it off with Silas. Silas has closed off his heart due to women not wanting to stay with him in the mountains. Silas and Jules are instantly smitten with each other. There are some falls, Kevin, and misunderstandings that the two have to overcome. The characters are good. The setting is picture perfect. This is a great book. It is a fast paced read.

Silas is the second book in Kate Tilney’s Camp Mountain Man series. In this sweet romance we meet Violet and Silas. Violet comes to Alaska at her best friends request and to escape the collateral damage of a broken romance. Silas is there using nature to heal his own wounds. Destiny brings them together. This is an instant romance plot. The lead characters are well-written and are quite likeable. Ms. Tilney pens engaging dialog that helps to move her plot along. I enjoyed her beautiful and descriptive nature scenes. She adds just a tease of drama to her romance plot.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

This is the second book in the Camp Mountain Man series, it is a standalone romance with no cliffhangers, no cheating.

Violet takes a trip with her bff, Jules(from book 1) to the camp in nowhere Alaska. She meets sexy mountain man, Silas and they have an instant connection. Violet is cautious as she has been burnt in the past but Silas works his way into her heart. Can Violet overcome the heartache from the past to have a HEA?

This is the first book I have read in this series, plus this is a new author for me. I thought the characters were written well, I felt a connection to them and cared what happened to them. The story line flowed well and I liked how they both got to show their caring sides. I will be looking into the rest of this series.

Girl meets boy. Boy is captivated by girl’s red lacey things. Boy saves girl multiple times from the unforeseen Kevin, the fake mountain man. Nice characters that make you wanna cheer for their normality. The tingle and sparks leading to steam and understanding their definite future. She feels an attraction to him but thinks it’s crazy the way her friend gave up everything for her mountain man. Heart Broken

Violet is heart broken and ready to give up men. When her friend Jules invites her to Alaska she can't say no, she has nothing to loose by going on vacation. What she doesn't expect is this instant and overwhelming feelings she has when she sees Silas. The way he is just soothes her and when she needs help he is there. Is that enough to let her guard down? Can she risk her heart again?

Jules, from Noah, convinces Violet to come visit her new home and she’s on to something when it’s obvious that Silas and Violet have chemistry. It’s sweet and short but packs so much into it, it doesn’t feel like you miss anything. Can’t wait for the next story.

I really enjoy Violet and Silas. They are really great for each other even though they were fighting it for a few days. I do have to say I got a bit tear eyed when she show him with Bea not realizing who she was. I love how book one and book two goes together. The little short stories are like a bigger picture. I can't wait to read more...
