Eternity: Loss & Hope

Rate this book
Tragedy doesn't discriminate. Young, old, rich, poor, it affects families and communities around the world, changing everything in its wake.

What about those left behind?

Curated by Scarlett Curtis, Lola Bute and Jonah Freud, these are the responses of artists, authors, actors, directors, experts, parents, people, with the bravery to confront their pain and grief, to offer hope to those still suffering, and to say: we must act now.

The book is produced in collaboration with the Eternity movement, started by Lola Bute, which in support of these crucial issues is donating all its proceeds to the following charities: Action on Addiction, James’ Place, Place2Be, and the Youth Anxiety Center.

I contributed to the Pound Project fund for this book mostly because it was fundraising for worthwhile causes, and because there is precious little worthwhile, accessible writing about grief out there. Unfortunately, I don't feel like much of this adds any value to the discussion. I can't see returning to this when grieving and finding any comfort or insight: the majority feels empty and self-indulgent, and some of it is downright cringy. I'm quite disappointed, and if it weren't for charity I'd probably ask for a refund.
