Rate this book

She’s the modern-day Equalizer with Robin Hood as a partner…

Long ago, she’d accepted being dealt an unfair hand, especially after a recent beating from her pimp, Eddie. Now all she can do is focus on staying alive; which means keeping out of trouble until she’s saved enough money to start a new life. One which includes revenge and seeking justice for the pain and humiliation she’s suffered through the years at Eddie’s hands.

But a chance meeting of a handsome stranger’s eyes across a crowded ballroom changed everything. An invisible thread wove itself around her heart and his, pulling them together for a few timeless moments before the spell was broken.

Realizing fate was at work, he used every means possible to track her down. Because nothing would keep him from the woman of his dreams.

Along with the opportunity for a new life, Foxxy’s being offered hope, as well as the means to plan Eddie’s retribution; not just for her but for every woman he’s abused.

Foxxy’s never lived a life to be proud of until that night, and recognizing her new life purpose, Foxxy sets out to avenge anyone who’s deserving, and desperately needs her help.

I 'm very lucky to have the indulgence of time and space to enable me to write. I took a sabbatical from work to accompany my partner on his bucket list travels and adventures, and never went back. I really thought I would struggle with all the free time, so decided to write to keep myself occupied. Now writing has consumed my time and I am never sure where we will be or when, hence my novels could be classed 'international' as they may have been written across a few countries. We are still travelling, although we do pop back to the UK for a few months every now and again.

I love the fact that no matter what our age we can use new technology to connect to the rest of the world and enhance our lives. Back in the UK I have my friends and family and with emails, phones, skype or face-time, we are never out of touch for long. Even my mother at eighty-six uses face-time to catch up with me. I have the world at my fingertips and only twenty-four hours away from anywhere.

Being a 'mature aging gracefully' woman, I feel akin to the problems of aging and relationships. I spent many years on my own before finding my truly remarkable and very patient partner who I happily gave up my whole world for. My stories are about mature relationships with mature people. People who have character and humour, who have a history; people just like us.

I like to call it Hen Lit, not Chick Lit, but it is not just about falling in love. They are about real relationships.

I hope you enjoy my stories. Please check my web page or social media pages if you would like to contact me. I love emails and try to answer every one as soon as possible.

Allyson R. Abbott has written a 5-star book that has Foxxy hiding from her pimp. Foxxy is a call girl and Eddie is her pimp. She is on a job when she catches the eye of Peter and they end up talking for a few minutes and she tells him she has to go back to her date. Peter tells her that he will see her again. She has been asleep for a few hours when Eddie comes and tells her she has another job. He tells her she is not to wear any wigs or makeup. When she gets to the address she is met by Peter and he tells her he just wants to talk. Foxxy doesn't trust him or anyone at this point since Eddie and a few of his men raped and beat her up a month ago. Richard tries to get her to talk to him but she is not saying anything. He tells her some things that he has never told anyone else. She ends up staying with Richard but nothing happens, she just sleeps. The next morning when she wakes up, Richard tries to get her to stay with him but she tells him that she has to go home. After she leaves, Richard calls his buddy to let him know that she is on her way home and for him to keep an eye on her. After she gets home, the police come and ask her about Lena. She tells them that she thinks she is at home. They tell her that Lena had overdosed and had been beaten pretty badly and was in a coma. She tells them that she has to go and see her. They tell her that she needs to stay where she is and she tells them that she has to go. When she leaves, Jerry calls Richard and he tells him to say with her. Jerry calls Richard when Foxxy stops at a coffee shop. Richard comes in and tells Foxxy what he knows and that she is not safe. Foxxy tells Richard and Jerry both that she wants to get Eddie back for what he has done to her and others. They go back to Richard's hotel room and over a few days come up with a plan to get Eddie. As Foxxy and Richard, they become closer. Foxxy wants to go to the hospital to see Lena but is told that Eddie may have someone there waiting on her so Jerry calls and finds out that Lena had passed away the night before. This just makes Foxxy angry and more determined to get him. It takes a few days to pull the plan together and the day it goes down, Foxxy is a little scared to meet Eddie.
Will the plan that Foxxy, Richard, and Jerry's come up with work?
Can Richard get his chance with Foxxy?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

The Equalizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point (Foxxy: The Equalizer #1) is an intriguing romantic suspense by Allyson R. Abbott. This story is a little different from the other books of Ms. Abbott’s that I have read- but still with the wonderful character development and emotive quality that I associate with Ms. Abbott.
I really felt for Foxxy- she hasn’t had an easy life, and her trust and confidence has taken quite a battering. I admire her inner strength and the fire inside her that couldn’t be extinguished. We meet her at the beginning of the story, an escort who is broken and bleeding after being beaten and raped by her horrible pimp Eddie and his ‘gang’. I hated that man with a vengeance, and so did Foxxy- and she vows to find a way to break away from his hold and make him pay for what he’d done. Things take an interesting turn when Foxxy meets the magnetic gaze of a handsome stranger across a crowded room. There is something mysterious about him, but also an undeniable connection. Fate is at play here. And what happens next made for a really great read.
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Abbott does next!

Thank you, Allyson R. Abbott!

I cannot say enough good things about this book. It has action, tension and a lot of sad situations. When an escort resolves to get out from under the life she is forced to lead, help comes from an unexpected source. The story unfolds as revenge is planned against the man that is giving her so many problems.

It is too bad the reality doesnt match the fiction. But that is hardly the authors fault. Maybe her message will get out through followers of this series.

Foxxy was abandoned as a child and raised in foster homes until she ran away, only to be taken in by a pimp. We start her story right after she's been beaten and gang raped as punishment for holding on on her pimp Eddie. She's vowed to get revenge and make him pay and it had me hooked.
Then the story saunters off into the unbelievable and lost me.

Richard Tate the man of many aliases sees Foxxy at a fund raising event. He decides he must find out who she is and make her part of his life. Within one day, he not only finds her but has hired her as an escort and has her in his hotel suite trying to convince the jaded hooker to trust him with all her secrets.

This book started out strong for about a minute and then just fell flat. While the author keeps telling us how big and strong Richard is, he comes across as an insecure and bumbling. His inner dialogue and behavior don't match the rich, strong, confident man the author keeps telling us he is. The other characters are interesting and I liked the idea of Foxxy getting revenge for her abuse and finding a way to help other women but it often felt juvenile. Others may enjoy this story but it wasn't my cup of tea.

The Equalizer: Foxxy's Tipping Point (Foxxy: The Equalizer Book 1)
By Allyson R. Abbott
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book The Equalizer: Foxxy's Tipping Point (Foxxy: The Equalizer Book 1) by Allyson R. Abbott. I loved the character of Foxxy. She is intelligent, strong, and cares for others. She finds herself noticed by a handsome stranger who is determined that she is the one for him. Foxxy finds herself being offered hope, a new life, and revenge for what Eddie, her pimp, has done to her and others. What does the future hold for Foxxy? Will she accept the handsome stranger’s offer? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down. I grew to care about Foxxy and wanted her to be happy. I also enjoyed reading about the handsome stranger that she meets. He believes that Foxxy is the perfect woman for him. I love that the story pulled me in, and I felt like I was right there with the characters. The book has romantic moments and times that I was turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. Don’t miss out on a story that is intriguing and entertaining. I highly recommend reading it.

When a dark stranger enters your world and answers all your hopes and dreams, is it just too good too be true?

Foxxy is an escort who has not had a great beginning in life, but when her pimp arranges a hideous act to happen to her she becomes angry and bitter. One night while working she meets Richard who seems like the one person she can trust to get her out of the world in which she finds herself.

Richard believes this woman is the one for him but can he convince her to trust him, things have happened to Foxxy for her to be weary to trust any man but when her roommate is murdered and she believes it is her pimp Eddie has had a hand in it, he will do anything to bring justice.

I enjoyed this story greatly, Foxxy is a character that although she has been through bad things she is still strong, intelligent and brave women. The story weaves through the mystery of her roommate being killed and follows the lines of enquiry as you feel you are with the main characters trying to piece together the motive and answers. The story is fast paced and well constructed and written, this is not the first story I have read by this author and definitely won't be the last.

The Equalizer: Foxxy's Tipping Point (Foxxy: The Equalizer Book 1) by Allyson Abbott is a quick and enjoyable read. I had actually read this story before but was remiss in leaving a review. I enjoy all Allyson’s books and this story is well written and the plot flowed smoothly. It is also a very emotive story that gives you as much headache as it does joy. The characters are well developed and I fell in love with their easy banter and their plots for revenge and justice had me laughing. It is a tale of starting over after living a life where there was not an option of getting out, no matter how hard you dream. But when fate steps in all it takes is one look and anything is possible under the right circumstances.

Foxxy is used to her life but her dream is to get out. When a chance encounter changes her life she can hardly believe it but before she goes there is one thing she needs to do. Just how sweet is revenge and justice?

I won’t lie, I had no idea what I was going to be getting myself into when I picked up The Equalizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point by Allyson R. Abbott. I chose it and had to have it when I saw the cover. I mean what is not to love about the drool worthy cover haha. I couldn’t wait to see what this was all about and I am so glad that I did. We meet Foxxy, a call girl with a terrible pimp and life that leaves a lot to be desired. Foxxy meets one evening a man who has decided that she is the one and will stop at nothing to make sure he gets her. He offers her a better life, and even better revenge against her terrible pimp. The problem is Foxxy doesn’t know if she should trust him. I honestly loved these two and reading their story. I was on the edge of my seat a lot of the time hoping and praying that Foxxy would get her happily ever after. I will definitely be back for book two in the series and I can’t wait to see what adventure awaits us there!

The Equalizer by Allyson Abbot.

Foxxy has not had a very good start to her life through no fault of her own and all she wants is to get a better life than the rough card she has currently been dealt. After a very bad beating arranged by her pimp Eddy. Foxxy is angry and wants to seek revenge. She meets Richard unexpectedly whilst working as an escort. Once getting to know him she discovers he is a modern day Robin Hood. Richard and his friend Jerry help Foxxy to get revenge for the murder of her flat mate Lena who was at the hands Eddy. This is now a new beginning for Foxxy .

A very exciting story with a slightly dark start it reels you in . I couldn’t put it down can’t wait for the next part of the story. The worm has well and truly urged. Well done Allyson an excellent read.

I enjoyed this book. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. One of the things I love most about this author is how I am pulled into the story right from the start. This one is no different. It is a well written story that made me feel as if I was a part of it. It is a story of starting over, revenge and getting justice. When a handsome man enters the picture will that change things? Is there justice in the future? How will fate step in and take over? There is quite a bit going on in this story but I found it easy to keep up with. This is a really great story that has characters I had no problems connecting to. They are well developed and made the story pop. I highly recommend this fast paced story and this great author.

The Equalizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point by Allyson R. Abbott
Four Stars

The Equalizer: Foxxxy’s Tipping Point is the first book in Foxxy: The Equalizer Series by Allyson R. Abbott. This is a fast paced book that grabbed my attention from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. Foxxy has had a rough life, when she meets a stranger who offers to make her life easier. The only problem is can she dig deep enough to bring herself to trust Peter? This story flowed and the character growth is great. There are some ups and downs in this book, but the whole thing is well written and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This was such a great read, it was a short story but in true Ms Abbott style there was nothing lacking in the storyline. Foxxy was a great character to read about, I really enjoyed her story. The author always does well with her characters development and this story was no exception. There were some emotional moments in the story and they were well written and also a few unexpected twists. I would definitely recommend The Equalizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point to other readers!!

The Equlizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point by Allyson Abbott is a story all about one woman set of revenge. Nothing about Foxxy’s life has been straight forward so when she decides on revenge it gives her such a purpose.
This book was well written and certainly catches your attention. It was a fairly quick but interesting read. You find yourself wanting Foxxy to achieve her mission. You are drawn to her and everything she is going through. Will she ever be able to get her own happy ending?? I enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend reading it.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a very quick read and humorous as well. The main character has had a difficult life but unlike some authors this one does not make her a victim. She is a strong intelligent woman that finally gets the life that she deserves and only wants to continue and help others. This is a woman we can look up to. So thank you for your wonderful character and I look forward to reading more books of yours.

This book took me by surprise at how good it was but also multilayered. Full of action with the scenarios of her getting justice for herself and the other victims of Eddie's crimes. Romance with she and Robin that she can have the best of both worlds and this is only the beginning for this duo! There’s a great sense of action from characters out to seek vengeance even in a completely fictional way.
