I was given a free ebook copy for my honest review. The book reminded my of reading a journal. The book brought back memories of when my grandma typed parts of her journal and memories into a binder and gave it all her kids for Christmas. I remember reading hers when my mom got it from her.
I learned things I didn't know before, like she wrote beautiful poetry and won prizes none of her children had any of them and grandma wasnt sure where her poems were either sad.

Because this book was written more as a journal and memories I got lost sometimes because it jumped around.
I had to take breaks because it wasn't in a story format. I did get a little bored as I read it. This kind of book is not my type of reading. That isn't my style. If I'm going to read book like this I would rather read one my relatives because it would have more meaning to me.

I think the author did a great job remembering things over 50 years! I loved the last chapter where her siblings gave some of their memories. The author did give credit to her step mom, I loved that too.

If this your type/style of book, you will probably love it! Especially if you've to learn about different time periods thought someone's memories and journals.
