The problem isn't human or beast, but seeing yourself, your group as more important, as superior, an outlook written in to some religions, who see the whole universe as created just for them by some tiny god, solely focused on one species on one planet, orbiting an average star, in a single galaxy of hundreds of millions. It's the outlook that's justified every atrocity, every genocide, from The Crusades, to The Holocaust, to The Nakba.
