There’s no such thing as a casual romance in this unforgettable Accidental Billionaires novel by New York Times bestselling author J. S. Scott.

After finishing a hard-won medical residency, Owen Sinclair now lives his dream as a family physician. The windfall that brought him newfound wealth has also made handsome Dr. Sinclair the town’s most eligible bachelor. But Owen’s eyes are on Layla, his onetime best friend, his clinic’s dedicated nurse practitioner, and the one woman in Citrus Beach who has no interest in either his body or his billions.

In high school, Owen and Layla were always there for each other. Layla could confess almost anything to him. But wanting more than friendship was a confession too far, and Layla’s teenage longing was crushed in a heartbeat.

Two buried hurts are now in need of mending, and Owen has a proposition—if Layla is game. It’s a matter of trust as they discover so much more about the past, each other, and themselves. It’s not too late. Maybe they can make up for lost time. A love this true is worth the wait.

Heartwarming journey !

Like the previous books in the Series, Endeared is a fast easy enjoyable read that leaves your heart feeling good and a smile on your face. I'm a big fan of J.S. Scott and always eagerly await her next book release. She has this incredible ability to just draw me into her stories from the very first word and Owen and Layla's story was no exception. Her writing is effortless and flows so beautifully that it’s an absolute pleasure to read her books. I listened to the Audio version and Elizabeth Powers did an awesome job narrating and bringing this story to life. If you like your romances with plenty of heat, brimming with heart and depth, full of passion with swoon-worthy alphas who have met their match, then The Accidental Billionaires Series is for you. Cannot wait to see what's coming next...hopefully Jax Montgomery's story will be the next.

Endeared was the fifth and final book in the Accidental Billionaires series by JS Scott.

Owen was the youngest Sinclair sibling. Although we saw glimpses of him previously he wasn’t around for most of the series as he was away finishing up medical school and his residency. He returned home in the previous book and purchased a retiring doctor’s practice.

Layla was Andie’s (book four) best friend. Layla and Owen had also been best friends in high school but it was the quintessential “grew apart because of a misunderstanding” theme. They hadn’t seen each other for a decade and Andie held a grudge with Owen being clueless. Unfortunately she was the nurse practitioner for the practice that Owen bought and they worked closely together.

I enjoyed both characters. I’m not a fan of secret grudges when things aren’t talked out so the theme wasn’t my favorite (personal opinion only) but it was well written and once we got passed the misunderstanding, the relationship progressed. I enjoyed Owen the most. He had a huge heart and although he had aloha tendencies, he was a teddy bear at heart.

Additionally, Scott entwined the Montgomery’s (Riley’s siblings, book three, Enamored) as part of a bridge for the next installment of Scott’s Billionaire Obsession series. It was creative and enticing.

All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read and I can’t wait for more from Scott.

Within these pages lies bittersweet heartache. Endeared is a chance to say goodbye as we stand on the cusp of hello. A chance to reminisce with old friends as our hearts are introduced to new ones. Scott continues to inspire hope while giving readers something to look forward to. Owen and Layla shake up emotions with a yearning that proves itself too irresistible to resist. Endeared is a love ballad to lovers everywhere.

To say Layla's less than thrilled with her new boss is an understatement. She has never forgiven Owen for betraying her back in high school, so having to report to him now is unthinkable. Except Owen seems not to know why she hates him. Will he ever get out of her what he supposedly did? And one he does, will he tell her how he really feels about her? Has felt about her for years?

J.S. Scott writes the best billionaire romances. There's heat, there's a bit of drama, and there's always love, along with fabulous characters and chemistry for days. I can never get enough of her writing, since the very first book of hers I ever read - The Billionaire's Obsession~Simon, and it's stories like Endeared that keep her at the top of my favorite billionaire romance shelf.

I've just finished reading Endeared with tears of utter joy and happiness running down my face! It was such an emotional, thought provoking and heartbreakingly beautiful story that got deep under my skin. Despite some heavy topics it was still a very romantic and sweet read. Books like this are exactly the reason I love reading! I've already said it a hundred times that J.S. Scott is the unquestioned queen of Billionaire romance and it's still true. Nobody writes them better than her. I thought that after all this time, she couldn't impress me more than she has done already, but she proved me wrong! Because Endeared isn't only my top favorite book in the Accidental Billionaires series, it's also one of the best ones J.S. Scott has ever written.

Layla Caine and Owen Sinclair have once been best friends in high school who were always there for each other, until they weren't. Over ten years later they're back in each other's lives and forced to work together in the same clinic. Owen, once dirt poor, is now a handsome doctor who has turned into a Billionaire over night. He's one of the most eligible bachelors every woman in Citrus Beach, California wishes to capture, except one: Layla, the gorgeous nurse practioner who is avoiding him at every occasion. Unwilling to accept their situation, Owen will make a proposition to Layla, she won't be able to refuse. By spending time together and unburding themselves, they will discover more about each other and their past. Is it too late for forgiveness? Or is a true love like theirs worth the wait?

Gosh how much I loved Owen and Layla! They were perfect for each other. I was cheering for them right from the start and hoping that they can leave the past behind and work towards a future together. Once they renewed their friendship and trusted each other again, the romantic feelings that were always there resurfaced. I loved their amazing chemistry and sexy banter!

Dr. Owen Sinclair was a dreamboat. He was a great combination of a little nerdy, a lot of possessive and extremely protective. And let's not forget how compassionate, giving and sweet he was. He had also a bossy, dominant side in the bedroom that made him a very own version of an alpha Billionaire. I absolutely adored him!

Layla was such an amazing heroine! She went through so much pain in her young life. My heart was breaking for her! I admired her for so many reasons, especially for turning into a loving, caring and good hearted woman, despite growing up in a dysfunctional family environment.

I can't believe that we've reached the end of the Accidental Billionaires series. I'm not ready to say goodbye to my beloved Sinclair family from Citrus Beach! I've become very emotionally attached to all these amazing characters and sincerely hope, that we will see them again in J.S. Scott's future books. Thank you dear Jan for writing this highly entertaining and absolutely unputdownable story and ending this series on such a high note! I bow to your unsurpassed talent and putting this gem on my top favorite reads shelf of 2020. 5 stars

description

Layla Caine did not have the best childhood with a father left her during high school while living with an absentee mother. She did the best that she could, given the circumstances, and was lucky to have her life turn out well, given her past situation.

Owen Sinclaire is a smart boy from the start and has a tight-knit family behind him to help him through his journey. He was lucky to have had the opportunity to leave California to head East (Boston) for medical school upon graduation.

The book starts us off ten years before as Layla and Owen prepare for college. It’s a sweet discussion that brings hopes and dreams for the two young adults. Readers can feel the sorrow that two friends have to part ways for college in different parts of the country.
Fast forward to ten years later; both characters ended up working for each other – Owen as the doctor that acquired the clinic that Layla was working for a while now. Their unexpected reunion didn’t have the effect that Owen first thought would be. Layla has been trying her best to avoid the boy she hung out often in high school because of something that happened during their last days of school. That is where the story takes an interesting take from friends to enemies to “more”.

I could say that this book has excellent progression. It spans for more than ten years and brings back Layla and Owen when building their careers. It tells us a lot about their strong friendship and trust but what came out of a strong turned into a crumbling tower brought forth by geographical distance.

Layla’s whole career direction changed with what she blames Owen for, but as she looks at things, she is happy where she is at – helping women in the health care department. She could not see herself doing anything else, so maybe, the “one door” that closed on her opened a better and brighter future. She did get reunited with Owen because of this.

I wanted to point out that both main characters are flawed or ‘broken’ in some way. They might be successful professionals, but they still have their backgrounds that seem to put their self-worth into question each time they are together.
We’d probably both screw up while we were figuring everything out, but at the core of us, we were best friends.
— Layla, Endeared

Trust had to be rebuilt by Layla, and Owen after the “truth” came out. I feel for Owen, who was oblivious to what was wrong with the friendship, and Layla shutting down on him till he took matters on his own hands and talked about it. It was a great relief as I read it since it seems like a big misunderstanding and cleared up within a few chapters at the start.

Ironically, after getting that “misunderstanding” cleared up and I can breathe a bit, Layla’s “dark past” that she shared with Owen was wreathed with “issues”. Owen was bothered by one of these traumas that he even asked his brothers’ to help him with it. Owen took upon himself to protect Layla.

**Please note that this book touches a bit on depression. Some scenes may trigger some readers. I appreciate some discussion on the topic and steps taken to cope and slowly overcome this disease. There is a section after the book that J.S. shares with readers to bring awareness. I hope you do read through it and let others know that there are ways to cope and overcome depression before its too late.

Owen has his “new life” to adjust from, and although it gave him the reason to make a deal with Layla, it still bothered that he had to speak to his brothers on it. Good thing that he had a close family relationship with his siblings, especially his brothers, to get him straightened out when it counted.

I enjoy love stories like these wherein there is a steady foundation forming between two characters. It is not the typical “insta-love” and more like growing love over the years. The trust that comes out from these types of relationships develops into something deeper, a mature look at how friends become something more in the end. I can say that this book rounds out the feeling of young love to true love.

I appreciate books that create good, strong family bonds, and this book shows the whole family, even extended family members. Without knowing it – one of Owen’s family members met at an eventful evening in the past, made it possible for Owen and Layla to end up together a decade later. They reunite again weirdly at an online chat service that I found adorable!

I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy reading about a love tested through time and distance, loves ‘second chance’ romances, and loves main characters with flaws but find the strength to pursue the love and life they deserve. The books are in a series to get to know the other Sinclairs and Montgomerys in the story. I know it will surely be an interesting read since it’s from J.S. Scott!
We have forever, but why start forever just as fast as we can.

It's hard for me to NOT love a JS Scott book, and well, guess what, I LOVE this one as well. There is a real relationship, character development, angst, some humor, always an animal (in this one there is a gassy, but lovable bulldog) and always a happy ending.

I loved Owen Sinclair, the youngest of the Accidental Billionaires; he has never been overly featured in any of the 4 preceding books, but always a token appearance or mention. Owen has been focused on his school and medical career since he was a HS student. Even dealing with his best-friends (Andi, who is now his sister-in-law) cancer during college in Boston, he was never deterred from his path.

Owen returns to California and his family, he has bought an established medical practice and guess who is part of the medical staff? The other part of his HS friend trio, Layla Caine. Although Owen is trying to figure out why Layla abruptly stopped their friendship right before HS graduation.

Working in the clinic everyday, Owen is hoping to re-establish his friendship with Layla or at least wear down her hostility. Slowly, but surely, Owen wears Layla down and when she finally discloses the reason for the hostility, a huge misunderstanding is cleared up and Owen is hoping to move forward into a 'relationship' with Layla.

Obstacles are always in the way, and as a time-defined, trial relationship draws to a close, will they have what it takes to continue into a real relationship.

There is a huge twist that I never saw coming, but it was SO GOOD and insightful into Layla's character and I think it lays the groundwork for Jaxson Montgomery's story to follow.

This book is part of an ongoing series. It's connected to other series by this author. I would highly recommend reading these books in order. There is quite a bit of back story and detail that would be missed trying to read it as a stand alone.

Time for Owen Sinclair to shine! Owen has always felt a bit out of place among his siblings. He's always been so focused on his goal of becoming a doctor that he never really stopped and took time building those relationships. Sure they're family but sometimes he feels a bit like an outsider looking in.

After Owen starts spending his new wealth by purchasing a medical clinic he can't help but be captivated by is nurse. It's someone from his past, someone he knows he's still at least partly in love with. Will he be able to soften her heart and find out whatever went wrong all those years ago? (If you know this series, you also know the answers to my questions.)

There are some things that happened in Layla's past that may be hard to read for some people. J.S. Scott doesn't go into great detail so I think most people will be just fine reading it. I received an advanced copy of this story from NetGalley and am posting a voluntary honest review.

Much anticipated and completely satisfying!

The conclusion to the Citrus beach Sinclair’s.
A spectacular story of friends to enemies to lovers.
A steamy love story that starts with an outrageously passionate kiss and builds to a panty ripping climax.
Layla is working for a man she once thought as her best friend and then her deceiver. Owen is the boss of a woman he once had childhood cravings for and after seeing her again he cannot deny his never-ending attraction for.
J.S. Scott has not disappointed with the story of Owen and Layla. I could not have wished for a better description of a warranted love for Owen Sinclair. He is everything that you would want in a McDreamy Doctor. I do not know if I would have chosen Layla at the beginning of the story to be Owens fated love, but she redeems herself in the end. Cannot wait until Jax’s story comes out!

This was my first book by J.S. Scott and I totally loved it!! The characters were people I would love to meet and the story line was really well written. Owen and Layla were close friends in high school. Owen went away for medical school, while Layla stayed in their hometown. This is the story of how they grew apart, and finally become close again 10 years later. They both have careers in the medical field and have had major life changes since high school. I really enjoyed their journey and apparently this is an ongoing series, so I need to read the other books to catch up!

After the fate divided Owen and Layla for many years, they try to find out, if they can build their friendship again. Its really hart, because both of them secretly love the other one. Layla have to conquer her demons from past, so she can accept happy future.
This was really beautiful finalle of Sinclair saga. I loved it.
It was also amazing, how the author brought into the book her personal experience from her visit in Paris and restoration of Notre Dame.

J.S. Scott has definitely saved the best for last! Endeared - the fifth and final book in The Accidental Billionaires series - was what readers' dreams are made of. I've been a huge fan of this incredibly talented author for years now and I've grown to love and care about the Sinclairs like they were real and my beloved friends. It's always bittersweet to say goodbye to a great series but I'm so grateful for the many hours of happiness and contentment these books have brought me.

There is something special about the way Jan writes these characters that speaks to my heart and soul. Her billionaires are gorgeous Alphas who are possesive and protective and a little bit obsessed with their women. They're generous with their money and love and they take care of their families and friends. This is exactly the kind of romance heroes I want to read about in books. Jan's heroines are strong, independant and smart women who are living self-determined lives but don't mind having a bossy and attentive man at their side who likes to take the lead occasionally.

Owen Sinclair and Layla Caine grew up in the poor and less safe area in Citrus Beach and have been best friends in high school. They confided in each other and encouraged one another to pursue their goals and dreams. Both didn't have an easy life with Owen being raised by his barely older siblings after their mother died and Layla fighting to keep afloat despite an absentee father and indifferent mother. They had a secret crush on each other but didn't act upon it since Owen went to Boston for college while Layla stayed in California. Now years later Owen is the most eligible bachelor in Citrus Beach and has taken over the local clinic as a family physician where Layla works as a nurse practitioner. She neither wants his money nor to rekindle their former friendship, much to Owen's frustration and regret. But then he comes up with a proposition which should help them to discover more about each other and make up for lost time because a love like theirs is absolutely worth waiting for...

Owen Sinclair is a true dreamboat. He has such a kind and generous heart. Although he was rich as sin he didn't care about materialistic things. He just wanted to help other people with his wealth. I truly admired this about him. He worked hard for his degree and denied himself a lot of things in the process. But as soon as he saw his former crush again he knew that he needed to have her and he put all his effort into gaining Layla's trust and love. All the things he did for her made me swoon hard and worship the ground he walks on.

Layla Caine is a selfless and caring do-gooder. She loves her job and she volunteers at the local animal shelter. Although she went through some truly heartbreakingly tragic things in her past she managed to pick herself up and make a good life for herself. I was deeply impressed with her and adored her for being such a genuine person who loved Owen for his values and deeds and didn't care about his money or status. He needed a woman like her by his side who shared his ideals. They were a perfect match made in romanceland heaven and will make you believe in soulmates.

I've devoured this wonderful friends to lovers story from start to finish and thoroughly enjoyed the cameo appearances of some of my beloved characters from Jan's previously published books. I recommend Endeared wholeheartedly and strongly encourage you to pick it up and let author J.S. Scott put you under her magical spell. I'm giving this precious gem 5 well-deserved stars and am shelving it among my top favorites!

Friends turned enemies become friends once again on their way to forever
You will absolutely love Owen and Layla’s story and how it comes full circle. The youngest accidental billionaire, Owen Sinclair, has returned to Citrus Beach and has purchased the clinic where his one-time high school friend Layla is now a nurse practitioner. Up until a few months before Owen graduated and left for Boston they were friends, compatriots, who share their dreams, along with their third musketeer, Andie who is now married to Owen’s brother. Owen and Layla in high school each harbored a crush upon the other until Owen pulled away and Layla thought he had betrayed her. Meeting several years later, Owen just cannot understand what turned his long-time friend into a woman who wanted nothing to do with him and who outside of their professional working relationship, seemed downright hostile. After months of working together and trying to get Layla to move beyond the confines of their professional relationship back to friendship and something more, Owen finally cracks Layla’s shell and she realizes what she thought about her one-time friend, now enemy was wrong. Layla in an attempt to make up for misjudging Owen agrees to help him learn to date, a scheme that Owen developed on the fly to keep Layla from falling under Jax Montgomery’s spell and into Owen’s arms, arms which waited to hold the woman who truly saw him and whom he needed for far too long. As Layla and Owen spend time together, each learning to have fun and to find where they belong in the world, Layla is still keeping something from Owen that hampers the two from moving to the next level. Layla in addition to helping Owen find his place in his newfound life is also helping Owen’s brother with his dating app. In doing so, Layla finds a friendship connection with screen name, Dark, who convinces Layla that holding secrets from someone important to you out of fear that they will not accept all of you will get you nowhere. Taking Dark’s advice, Layla finally comes clean with Owen and the two move toward healing and helping each other truly find happiness.
Once again, Ms. Scott deals with real life serious issues in a respectful and insightful manner through connecting the reader with her characters who she portrays as suffering real time problems that sometimes leads them down very dark paths. The reader is going to love a twist that Ms. Scott puts into this story that truly made me smile. As always, she intersperses previously loved characters so that the reader can see what is happening in their world while introducing you to the character in an upcoming book to peak your interest and desire to read their story.

After reading Andie’s story and seeing how wonderful Owen was, I think that it was more than necessary to see how his own life adjustment would play out. I forget all the time that it’s only been perhaps a year since they’ve all come into money, meaning that their struggle from the past years is all for naught given that they are now in a different situation. Owen had pushed himself so hard to get through school since he knew that his family had sacrificed everything to make sure he could get to school, and now he’s living the results of that labor. owning his own practice, back home with his family and being able to reconnect with friends from the past.

Layla on the other hand, she’s a tougher one. We know that she’s part of the threesome that they had in high school, and we know that there’s a rift between her and Owen for reasons unknown. AT least unknown to him and Andie, so it’s a matter of time until we get to the bottom of things.

Owen is persistent, and that’s something that I think is quite wonderful here since there’s really a need to push Layla to reveal more of herself than she’s comfortable. Throughout this story we see that she fights every step of the way, with a deep rooted hatred, and I think that she constantly uses that as a crutch when she’s in front of people so they don’t see to far into who she is. The only person that she seems to open up to is Dark, a guy that she’s connected with via Noah’s new dating app, and being behind a phone with no personal information shared, well that helps really allow her to be a bit more free.

What’s nice about this story that we see in some of the others is that JS Scott shows us that our main characters negotiate some type of arrangement to get to their end game. We saw that with Riley in the past and it comes to a head here when Owen uses his attraction for Layla and her guilt over the past to get her to date him.

Their story is a sweet one yet one that’s so troubled. They clearly enjoy one another but they won’t cross those boundaries for fear of what will come of it. Owen is beyond attracted to her and Layla him, but Layla thinks that if he were to know know what happened in her past, then he wouldn’t want her.

What we find is an interesting ally in another character that we’ve met in this series, and one that I hope to find a spin off book for since I think that person is really intriguing. The friendship, chemistry, trust, all those factors make this another great read from our author.

I can't believe that Endeared is the last book in The Accidental Billionaires series. The Sinclairs were one of my favorite families ever since I picked up Entangled (book 2) back in what feels very distant 2019 and I have been reading about them falling in love ever since. Owen was a little bit of a mysterious character since the moment we met him and I wanted to see what was going on inside his head and what kind of woman would make him want to spend forever with her.

As it turns out, the one for him is Layla, who had been friends with him in high school. After an incident, Layla stopped talking to him, and even when the book began she was chilly towards him. We don't find right away the reason behind Layla's attitude, but it also doesn't take much time. The frustrating part is that it there was communication back then, this wouldn't have happened, but Owen's behavior was indeed suspicious, even though he was acting weird for a different reason. The rest of the story was good and I time flew by.

What I liked the most about this book is that I never doubted Owen's love for Layla. I did want him to smack his head for a second though. He is a little quirky but he tried to do the best for her and that's all I could ask for. Layla is not bad, but she kinda lost me when she revealed the reason why she was acting so cold towards Owen. I didn't dislike her, but I also didn't love her. Still, I have some respect for her and what she went through. These two worked well together though and they were entertaining.

During the events of the book, we also have Mr. Darkhumor. He is someone Layla met through the 'Not just a hookup" app and I really liked the guy. He is just a friend to her and he was really supportive. I really want to read his story and I hope that the author will release it soon. The reveal of his identity and what happened next were very emotional.

Overall, the book was good and I am looking forward to seeing more of them in the author's other series. Since this is the last Sinclair book, I can safely say that I am recommending not only this book but the series as a whole.

I hate this book, but not for the reason you may think. This is the last book in the Accidental Bil-lionaires series, but it also closes out the Sinclair series in a way. I will be missing the two Sin-clair families, missing the way they pull together for one another even though their lives have been very different.

This is the story of Owen, the youngest of the California Sinclairs. Owen is brilliant and worked his butt off to go to Boston to school and eventually become a doctor. Returning to Citrus Beach, he ends up taking over the clinic where his high school friend Layla is now a Nurse Prac-titioner. They had a falling out their senior year in high school and Owen always wondered about the girl he fell for back then and didn’t understand what happened. Of course Layla thinks he knows exactly what he did (misunderstanding time!) and she has some happenings in her life that she doesn’t want to share. They get thrown together outside of work and eventually secrets become known. I especially like that we run into not only the California Sinclairs but also the East Coast Sinclairs in this story. Loved that Owen and Layla work out old differences, have a few issues, and eventually end up where they should be.

Ms. Scott also ends the book with a rundown of all the siblings and where they are in their lives! LOVE IT! Even though I hate to say goodbye to some good (book) friends, I will be looking for-ward to the next series coming from the inventive mind of J.S. Scott.

When she was a teenager Layla had a very difficult life that she never shared with anyone and that included her best friend Owen. Even though her feelings for him were deeper than friendship she never told him and allowed a misunderstanding to separate them for a decade. Not only is Owen back in town but he is also her boss so when she realizes her mistake and he asks a favor of her she can’t say no.

After Owen found out he was a billionaire instead of working as a doctor in a rural location to payoff his student loans he was able to purchase a clinic back in his hometown. Now that they have cleared up the misunderstanding he is determined to show her that they are meant to be together and has devised the perfect plan to ensure she spends time with him but when they become close he realizes that there is so much more to her than he ever knew.

Their connection between them goes far beyond the physical as Layla shows that she is stronger than even she realizes, and Owen is the champion she needs in her life. Not only are Owen and Layla captivating characters but catching up with all the characters we know, and love is always fun.

Owen Sinclair now has it all after struggling through medical school. He has more money than he can ever spend in his lifetime and a great medical practice. His nurse practitioner happens to be his childhood friend but somewhere along the way they stopped being friends and Layla is angry with him but won’t tell him what is wrong. Owen is determined to figure out what is going on so he comes up with a way to spend more time with her and hopefully find out once and for all if they can make up for lost time and have a happy ever after since she is the only woman he wants in his life.

I have enjoyed the Sinclair series and getting to know these siblings and share in their journey to happy ever after. Owen Sinclair’s story rounds out the series quite nicely. Endeared is about two people who struggled in their lives with very different hardships but in spite of that turned their lives into something good. Owen and Layla definitely were two people who deserved something good to happen to them and to be able to come together and learn to trust was a good foundation for these two once they decide to give love a chance. Although there is a very sexy hero and lots of steam between the H&H this is actually a very sweet romance. I definitely recommend Endeared as well as the other books in this series.

Who doesn't love a Sinclair?

I have fallen in love with each and every Sinclair. I cannot even pick a favorite because they all have their individual qualities. This one was no different. You could tell from the very beginning of the book that Owen was a very loving and loyal person who would go to the end of the world for anyone. He would give away all of his money just to see a smile on someone's face, especially Layla.

In true Sinclair fashion they always seem to be a little duh, when it come to women. But then Layla didn't seem to smart when it came to her best friend. We have lots of growling, love, possessiveness in this book. You will not go away disappointed. Except for the face that there will not be any more Sinclairs.

Good thing I have read the books over and over and they will never go away. These books are always my good to reading when I need a good pick me up.

Until Next Time...Tabi

Endeared by J .S. Scott is book 5 in The Accidental Billionaires Series. This is the story of Layla Caine and Owen Sinclair. I have read the previous books which did add to my enjoyment of this one. But, I do feel you can make it a standalone book if you wish to do so...but its a great series. This book gives us Owen's story who is a Doctor but he and his siblings didn't start out with much. The one best friend Owen had was Layla and they were very close. But something happened that pull them apart. Now in their present day Owen is back and he is wanting a second chance with Layla but she has her secrets and isn't so ready to move forward with him...yet. I am such a fan of this author. I love how she writes and I feel that I am there watching the story unfold instead just being a book I am reading. I would recommend this book, series and her writing. Loved it.

I really enjoyed reading about Layla and Owen. Friends long ago that turned to enemies and Owen can’t wrap his head around why this has happened. They were great friends in school, shared everything together until they didn’t. Now that Owen is back and practicing in Citrus Beach and working side by side with Layla, can he convince her to see beyond her anger towards him and see the real him? With love and relationships there are always obstacles to overcome and Owen will have to work extremely hard to get Layla to move forward with their new friendship and not give Jaxson the time of day. Amazing read, this author is one of my favorites and a definite go to when I need something to read. I received a copy of this book.

Even since they were kids,, billionaire Owen Sinclair has always cared for Layla, sharing so much in their lives. Yet now that Owen is back home and working with Layla, he doesn’t know what happened to make her turn away from him. It is obvious Owen wants to make her happy and as their story unfolds, I saw the raw emotion that Jan was able to write about her characters with real issues that affect a lot of us. Their characters were human and realistic, reminding us that happy endings can happen.
While sad that The Accidental Billionaires series is done, I am excited to know that Jan will continue on with more of her Billionaire’s Obsession books.

There really hasn’t been a book by Ms Scott that I haven’t enjoyed and this one is no different. We really didn’t know Owen from the previous books about his siblings because he was on another coast and extremely busy studying to be a doctor. He had a different experience growing up than his brothers, mainly because he was the youngest. Layla had a total different life experience than Owen and it was even more difficult. Due to an extreme misunderstanding and stubbornness on Layla’s side, many years passed before they continued their friendship that started as teens. This was a wonderful story of two people who find themselves and each other again.

This is such a fantastic book and I couldn’t stop reading. Loved the closeness Layla and Owen had in their youth. Loved staying on edge, what happened to their friendship? Did Owen really betray her trust? I didn’t expect to cry so much but I did when she opened up to Owen regarding their estrangement and what really happened to her in the past. I was so emotionally involved in this book and loved feeling their emotions. Their happy ever after was so heartwarming too. Each book in this series is worth re reading. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.
