A man struggling to leave the battlefield behind, a woman powerful enough to help him all the way home.
Logan Stone should be happy. More than happy, in fact. He’s Sutton Capital’s newest executive, no longer a Navy SEAL in the line of fire, fighting for his country and his brothers-in-arms. Now he spends his days working side-by-side with Samantha Page, the sexy, brilliant woman of his dreams.
But Logan is fighting a different kind of battle; one no one realizes he’s in. While he’s focused on managing his PTSI, something much more sinister enters his world and he must battle to save Samantha’s life and their growing love.
When her life is threatened, he spirals downward. If he succumbs to the PTSI clawing at him, she’ll be left to fend for herself against threats neither of them could see coming.
Steamy romance meets heart-stopping suspense in the Sutton Billionaires Series. This is the fifth book in the series but it can be read as a standalone story with no cliffhangers. If you’d rather start at book one, grab The Billionaire Deal by Lori Ryan. A shorter version of this book was previously released as part of the Sutton Capital Series.
Logan and Sam were heartwarming characters that won me over immediately. The attraction and connection they had were amazing.
Logan had retired from the Navy Seals but he was suffering from PTSI. Sam was a computer wiz, very smart, brave, however she had no filter when she was talking and that made her very amiable. Together they made a great couple!
Their story was very well written and developed, had a lot of suspense, twists and turns, wonderful romance and brought out various emotions.
I think I will read the previous parts of this series that I haven’t yet! I enjoyed it a lot!
Another redo of a Sutton Capital book. This was previously published as Her SEALed Fate. I haven't read the original, so I don't know if anything was changed.
Samantha was in all the previous books and is a super smart woman. It takes an amazing man to be worthy of her according to all her bosses. Logan is more than up to the task, once he gets the help he needs for his PTSI. Eddie and Billy and the rest of Logan's team are great additions to the series. Can't wait to see what happens next.
This author has done it again, written an absolutely fantastic book and completely hooks you in, this book is a real must read,I loved it. This book is part of a book series and this book intrigued me right from the start. I've read books by this author before and this book is another awesome edition to the series. This book is part of The Sutton Billionaire's Series and this is book #5 in the series. BOOK #1 The Billionaire Deal BOOK #2 Reuniting with the Billionaire BOOK #3 The Billionaire Op BOOK #4 The Billionaire Rocks BOOK #5 The Billionaire's Navy Seal
This is Logan and Samantha's story and you will definitely want to read on. Logan has medically retired from the military three months earlier and is now working at Sutton Capital. Logan has had things very tough but since Sam caught his eye his nightmares have lessened a tad, he thinks she has a totally rocking body and is amazing. He notices everything around him always and Sam is no different he notices everything about her and all her quirks too. Sam is a woman that knows what she wants, she is strong, brave and confident and loves her job. Samantha is a beautiful, stunning woman with a gorgeous figure but she is not body confident one bit and she doesn't see what everyone else does.
Sam and Logan are teaming up to lead the new team and after only briefly seeing each other at the wedding a few months back this is their first proper meeting. Sam can't believe that she is going to be head of all these model looking guys, but things get very rough for a while and the question is will there connection survive what fate has in store for them both? Will they hit it off? (NO SPOILERS).
This author has written the characters great and Logan and Sam are my favourite out of the series. They have a great connection and great chemistry and I really liked them both. I loved that this book also has past characters in too. This book has twists that you won't see coming that were awesome and will keep you totally hooked, I couldn't put this book down and read page after page because I was desperate to see what was going to happen. This book is my all time favourite book in the series and the way this author writes and the issues that it deals with are written beautifully.
I loved the epilogue as I always feel like this adds something extra special to the story.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review. This book is expected to be released 28th April 2020
The fifth book in 'The Sutton Billionaires Series had my heart in my mouth on more than one occasion. Logan deserved to have his story told and what a story it was! But only a strong woman would be acceptable for this man and for this book and he sure found one in the formidable Sam the number 1 computer wiz she has already made a fortune with her on line game but her real talents lies as a white hacker doing good not bad.
Before reading The Billionaires Navy Seal I had not idea but what Post Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI) was - you all hear about veterans coming back from war with conditions but PTSI was new on me but Lori Ryan was brave to have her main character Logan have this conditions and brave to write about - but she did and she wrote it beautifully full of compassion and understanding - so well done. Logan has now left the Seals and is working for Sutton Capital, ever day is a struggle for Logan being a car in rush hour not possible; going to a restaurant and walking there within a crowd of people not possible. But with help he is starting to get better. The one bright spot in his life in the larger than life no filter Sam, who is his team lead when he first joins the company. Sam has had a soft spot for Logan since they meet a friends wedding a few months previously. But Sam knows she's not your typical woman - above average in height no a size 0 and possible her biggest fault (or so she thinks) she has no filter what she thinks she says - sometimes even when she thinks she has only thought them!
Logan isn't looking for a barbie doll he needs a real woman a strong woman - Sam is all this and more . But both of them have enemies and one of them is out for revenge in the deadlese way possible and Sam is the target can Logan and the men of Sutton Capital keep her safe or will some words said in jest be the words that final bring down this brave woman once and for all!
Wow! Samantha Page is an intelligent woman who has no filter. She often says things out loud that she thinks she only said in her head. She is drawn to Sutton Capital's newest employee and they are working in the same department.
Samantha is threatened by it's not by people that they think could be after her, the threat comes from Logan as the two grow closer. Logan is reluctant to get close to Sam because of his PTSD. Sam has researched it and in doing so she has become Logan's anchor of sorts.
Samatha is strong and when a plot that she came up with as a joke becomes a reality, she fights to save Logan and the people she loves on her own. She can do this without Logan and Chad. Chad has been helping to keep her safe as he probably knows lots of ways to dispose of bodies that will never be found. She almost succeeds but needs Logan in the end.
His PTSD causes him to withdraw from life and from Sam but she won't let him get away with it. She is determined to bring him out of the shadows to live in the light. Chad helps as well because he has been where Logan is and he recommends a wonderful therapist who is amazing and totally not what conventional therapist should look like. He works wonders and has a secret weapon that helps Logan even more.
I really enjoyed this story of revenge and second chances of sorts. Sam is perfect for Logan. Both of them are flawed and well life is flawed. They are dynamic characters and well, what's not to love about them. I have very much enjoyed this series but I have to say that Samantha so far is my favorite female character. I love her non-filter, she is very funny. I laughed a lot. I also felt sorry for the bad person in this story. She was out for revenge but I could understand why it made her a bit more human even though her perception of life was askew.
We are back with the men and women of Sutton Capital, where we have already fallen in love with books 1-4. This one, is no exception, and probably one of the most touching of all the stories. Logan Stone, retired from his post as a Navy SEAL, has a new job at Sutton Capital, thanks to the recommendation of one of his friends. Though he is no longer in combat , his time, and dedication has cost him not only physical injuries but also psychological ones, leaving him suffering from PTSI. He lives in a dark place , feels he should not be alive, and still has nightmares after the last mission that went from bad to worse. But there is someone at Sutton that calms him and gives him a little hope and light in the darkness. That is the brilliant Samantha Page. A gorgeous woman who is a computer wiz and wealthy by her own right. But also one that doesn’t feel comfortable in her skin. That is, until Logan. As the evil from either of their pasts becomes life threatening, it also threatens a future they are wanting to explore. Aside from the engaging, and truly excellent plot, the story is much more than that. It’s a reminder of the how the very brave men and women that serve our country often suffer not only devastating physical injuries, but also psychological ones. We, not only as a nation, but also as individuals need to do so much more for them as well as their families. It’s the least we can do , when they have willingly put their lives on the line. This touching, at times heartbreaking story as well as heartwarming story is one you will remember for a very long time. Kudos to the author for such a wonderful book. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Logan Stone is the newest addition to Sutton Capitol, even though he still has some PTSI issues he's come a long way since the nightmares have stopped.
He was really early his first day and Jack questions him on it. He covers with he wanted an early start. Jack takes him to his office to give him some files he would later be reviewing with Samantha. Now as they are leaving the office they overhear a conversation between Samantha, Jennie and Tanya.
Jack and Samantha have been attracted to each other since his friend Zach's wedding. They had never been introduced until today and I have to say a lot of there interactions had me giggling. Samantha has no filter at all and sometimes she actually says what she thinks is only a silent thought.
Logan doesn't mind this at all and is trying to be professional when he really doesn't want to be at all.
A phone call from a former teammate, has him on guard but it doesn't concern his employment.
Samantha discovers some of Logan's PTSI problems on the way to lunch one day and then starts bringing him lunch when she gets her own.
Then things start happening with Samantha, that don't seem to be coincidences.
Plenty laughter and tears in this page-turning, suspenseful, steamy, romantic, action-packed book.
I really can't wait to read the next book in this series.
ONE PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE!!! Crap on toast! Lori never ceases to amaze me dropping this thrilling piece of perfection, rocking this gem to the core imparting this brilliantly composed approach, wrapping this jewel up sleek, shiny and tight. A raging whirlwind of unsettling mishaps and baffling circumstances full of formidable trials and challenging tribulations, noting the compelling twists and wicked turns, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never envisioned. One non-stop, action packed, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, nailbiting, nerve racking, page flipping bombshell, hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. The attraction and chemistry sizzles through the pages, alluring and mesmerizing, pulling you deeper until you feel the electrifying hum running rampant through your veins. The characters, banter, dialogue, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow, transforming into genuinely charismatic personalities. The scenes are written with such realism, impressive talent and unique insight, blasts this sparkling jewel to life, making the storyline pop. Awesome job Lori, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
Logan has left his career as Navy SEAL in his past but the aftereffects still haunt him on a daily basis. He has found a home at Sutton Capital and is very attracted to his co-worker but doesn’t believe that he is in any position for a relationship.
Sam is brash, beautiful and brilliant but she has comes to realize that rather than that being attractive to men it seems to have the opposite effect. She is attracted to Logan however she doesn’t think he would be interested in her but when they find themselves in danger they will not only have to face their pasts but their feelings for each other as well.
I was expecting that this story would be filled with intrigue, twists and romance but I wasn’t expecting the emotional pull that it delivered as well.
Book five in the Sutton Billionaire's series brings Logan and Samantha's story. The author does a great job developing the story, pulling you in with all the action as well as the steamy romance. She deals with Logan having PTSI beautifully and brings compassion, understanding and support from Samantha. She adds in drama and danger, moving the story quickly and smoothly and delivers an emotional and heartbreaking story. I loved and highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I enjoyed this book involving a Navy Seal with PTSDI and I am so happy he was set up with the perfect funny woman. It was interesting learning more about PTSDI and the troubles people go through who have it. And, Billy, well there are not enough words to describe how much I fell for him. I highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This is a good romance, with a likable couple, but it bothered me a little that Logan waited so long to get help for his PTSI. I get that he thought he was beyond help, but why didn't he at least check to confirm that?
I liked both Logan and Samantha, and loved how she knew how to help him through his problems. She recognized that he had PTSI, and was smart enough to know what would help. I also loved how brilliant she was -- she was an inspiring heroine (wish I was half that smart!). I also liked the inclusion of a service dog for Logan, since what service dogs can do always amazes me.
I enjoyed the story, and liked that it featured a military veteran who was suffering from PTSI. Our veterans rarely get as much credit as they deserve, and they certainly don't get enough help with PTSI. This book gets 4 stars from me.
For those who care, this book does contain sex, so it might bother anyone who prefers clean romances.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Quick and easy read. Retired SEAL Logan has been brought on board at Sutton Capital as part of a special team tasked to research potential investment opportunities. His liaison is super hacker extraordinaire Samantha Page.
Logan and Sam have immediate mutual attraction, but Logan is suffering badly with PTSI after his medical discharge from the Navy and he doesn't feel he's ready to tackle a relationship. Despite his reservations they get together and things are looking good until an enemy from Logan's past appears with a plan to target Logan's loved ones in retaliation for the death of their family members.
Logan has to face his demons as he attempts to keep Sam safe, though she is also able to help foil the baddie's plan with her awesome tech skills.
This book was a fast, insta-love story, but easy to follow and neatly written. Previous characters make cameos to help the story along.
Great story. Logan is awesome and loved how emotional his story was. Military romance is one of my favorite genres and Logan was an awesome hero.
My favorite quote
"And, we’d all do it all over again in a heartbeat for our country. So, to see some guy burning the flag—” He shook his head. “Dopey. He just stops all of us. He tells us all we’re wrong. Of course, we look at him like he’s nuts, but he doesn’t care. He says, we’re all wrong. That burning the flag is a right and it’s a right we have to continue to protect no matter what. He says it’s a right that should never, ever be exercised, but if some asshat back in the states is dumb enough to exercise it, we need to protect his right to do so. Because that’s what makes us different, you know? That’s what makes the United States so great. It’s the fact that you can say and do those things, that you can say and do what you believe in and you can stand up for what you believe in. And, that’s what we’re over here fighting for, he says. We’re fighting so that asshat can burn the flag.”
It just hit home for me. All Americans should remember and appreciate what our Vets fight for. This quote just summed it all up for me.
this is by far one of the darkest stories because it really delved more into ptsd (chad didn’t really give that in his book). the mental health part in this book was well written and made an impact.
AND OF COURSE MS SAMANTHA PAGE!!!! yes she rocks. i love her so much
this book by far is one of the ones that stand out in the series because i love how samantha was written and how her eclectic personality found someone who accepts and loves her for who she is. and of course girls rule
Just, wow. Excellent writing. Fell in love with this Author's writing style. I fell into the pages of the novel and was taken on an exciting adventure with a great pair of lovers on a highway of excitement, and then intrigue, with a bit of terror and gut wrenching fear tucked in alongside of deep lovin romance. Romantic Suspense at it's best. Five stars all the the way. This Author rocks!
The Billionaire's Navy SEAL (Sutton Billionaire Book 5)
I am hooked on this series. Reading about Logan and Sam had me sad about Logan's PTSD. Sam had her issues with thinking she wasn't pretty enough to have Logan look at her in a romantic way. They both suffered and with help came out better. Loved this book.
This is a book. That touches on what a vet deals with. Once they are back on us soil. They face so much . And suffer panic, night mares. And just to name a few. But to have so many friends and amazing help. Let's them start to heal.
Wow never saw that coming - I was so glad that Sam got her happy with Logan (whose all kinds of needed up with his PTSD). I love that we get glimpse of the other couples.
This is a very interesting perspective you never get about the soldiers who come home! Thank you for writing from his perspective. I liked to read about that. It gave me a better understanding.
Action packed, emotionally thrilling, sexy fun adventure filled with dangerous and exciting charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and turns. Really enjoyed this exciting journey!
Logan and Samantha tore my heart out, but made me laugh out loud and sigh often too. I loved the storyline and the suspense aspects as well. Great story all around.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I will be reading more. I am a female Navy Veteran who served during the Vietnam Era. I had a dear friend who came back and couldn't cope and committed suicide. Our H suffers from PTSI (aka PTSD), and help is available more now if you can get them to go for treatment. This story really touched me.
I felt the struggle the H was going through. He was lucky because he had a therapist who understood him and could relate. This tugged at my heart strings. Add to this an h who is just perfect for the H and knows what he needs before he does.
This was like reading two stories. It was a story of the h and the villain who could be after her and then the H in a villain who seeks revenge for a mission when he was a Seal.
There is romance that built at the perfect pace. They became friends first and love blossomed. The secondary character's were amazing too and I hope to read their stories. The first one in this series is free as of now and I just downloaded it. This story is number 5 and I wasn't lost in not reading in order.
There is passionate lovemaking, outside of marriage, and described only a few times. Heat level 3.5 out of 5.
There is suspense, many villains, twists, fast paced story that kept me captivated from the first page to the last.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and a tad of spice. (ljb)
I really liked this book. My heart went out to Logan who was suffering from PTSI. I could not imagine the level of difficulty endured in having to come home and be expected to live a "normal" life. I loved that in some level Sam just got him. She may not have understood exactly what he needed, but she recognized that he needed. Period.
I think that's what made Logan and Sam such a great couple. It seemed to me as if their connection was more intense, more romantic. They were very supportive of one another.
When Sam was in danger, I just held my breath. There actually was a good amount of suspense in this book, a bit of intrigue too.
I am also always glad to catch up with the characters from the previous Sutton Capital books and see what new things are going on in their lives.
I really wish we could have read more about Peter, the twins, his reaction to the email, his boss's reaction to him, and what happened to Yoshi. I think those additional details would have made it give stars for me.
I read this book when it was Her SEALed Fate, but it was years ago, so I can't tell what the differences are between its publication and the previous one.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
What an extremely interesting and satisfying book The Billionaire's Navy Seal was. Yes, it had suspense, fast paced action and steamy romance. But, what reached out and grabbed me was Lori Ryan's depiction of the struggles our returning military veterans, especially those from Special Forces, face when trying to reintegrate back into normal everyday living. She spotlights PTSI in particular. Throw in a crusading state's attorney with a political agenda than and a crime family member bent on revenge and you got an extraordinary reading experience.
Logan Stone is a man on the edge, He's a medically retired SEAL barely able to put one foot in front of the other. Yet he's managing to make contributions in his new job at Sutton Capital. One of the perks of the job is being on close proximity to Samantha Page on a routine basis. Sam is wicked smart, quirky and without filters. She recognizes, from the outset, that Logan is struggling. She does everything she can to ease his way. While Logan tries to keep Sam at arm's length emotionally but she's just too special to ignore. When her life is endangered he will stop at nothing to keep her safe. It takes the combined efforts of Logan, Zach and Chad to protect her.
