Although I had no issues keeping up with this marvelous story, I definitely missed "a few" prior tales...like from book 10 on! LOL
That is fine, the excitement, action, and twists in this one definitely kept me entertained! Now I just need to go back and catch up!

This is Abe and Shauna's story . Abe is one tall hot drink of water and Shauna is more than a match for him ! This is another winner in the Dragon Guard series ! If you love reading about true love mates and sassy women then grab the series but really grab this one ! Abe is dragon whom will do whatever he can to keep Shauna safe and Shauna is a honey badger with a quick wit and a mouth to back it up ! I adored this one so please go get it ! It is well written and recommended to all !!

This is an OK dragon shifter romance, but Abe and Shauna were difficult for me to like, and it was very confusing at times.
It is a short novella, so maybe there wasn't room for better explanations, but Shauna's power and the powers of her family were never fully explained. They were obviously powerful shifters, but what exactly were their powers? I also wished there had been more explanation of the evil that Abe and Shauna were fighting, what exactly his powers were, and what he wanted to accomplish.
Shauna and Abe were OK, but both were difficult to like. Abe was just so "in your face" protective and kind of chauvinistic, and Shauna just seemed a bit wishy-washy (she liked Abe, but resisted the relationship, then changed her mind all of a sudden -- Why?).
My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

In this story, the Dragon Protection Agency and Federal Paranormal Units are back working together. The story features Abe - a dragon who is bald, tattooed, dark-eyed, and 7'2" tall together with honey badger Shauna who is incredibly sassy and has the habit of talking way before her brain catches up with her mouth. When a severed head is delivered to Shauna and then a few other limbs turn up, it starts to get serious which then is escalated to a whole new level when Shauna is abducted. Can Abe save Shauna so they can have their HEA or will it all end in failure?
This was a very dramatic story which involved many of the characters involved in the DPA and FPU working together in order to solve and then save Shauna and the other shifters who were affected. I was a very dramatic story that needed the sass and bravery from Shauna together with the teamwork and violent abilities of the other paranormal races working together to beat an old enemy. I loved the sassy of Shauna as well as the determination and single-mindedness of Abe which made them the perfect couple. Well written and easy to read and understand, I really enjoyed this story. Contains some sexual content as well as a little bad language.

One left to go
Now this is where it gets so confusing for us all, when I saw this series and there was 45 books all numbed I jump with happiness inside wish all authors could label then like that even more so when a series continues in the same world just a different town and a few pop in from characters story's just read. (You get me? I read allot) but when you co write with other authors in another series (or two) then add it and number it 45 (really)
if your anything like me I like to start at the beginning (even if they SAY you can read one independent) if an author spends the time making up a world adding characters back story's links to each other, I want to take that journey learn the history root for the good, get angry with the bad, weep with the losses and heart saw with the finding there soul mate.if milly created the FPU I don't want to read a middle book added by another author slotted in here. (Not a fan of different author for each book series) this series is all Julia mills but she has written some of these for another series but made it so it fits in hers (clever but frustrating)

Abe wasn't actively searching for his mate. Shauna has always been determined to be part of the FPU. It hit them instantly. Will Shauna be able to find a way to escape her enemies? Will he find Shauna before it is too late?
Another Julia Mills hit! Loved the action, drama and steam in this book. I loved how Abe was determined to do whatever it took to find and protect his soul mate. I loved how Shauna was full of piss and vinegar and refused to let her enemies get the best of her! Great read and cannot wait to see what this author comes up with next!

Ha this book y'all. This is Abe and Shauna's story. Abe a dragon and a member of DPA is on a case. When Shauna honey badger and FPU newest agent comes on scene Abe knows she's his mate. Shauna first day on the job and boom there is her mate. What's a girl to do? Why run her behind home as quick as possible of course. When someone sneaks in and takes the dragons mate right out from under him, to say his mad is an understatement! This Dragon has just gone Savage and will have his mate no matter how many he has to kill to get her back!

Shauna runs and then she's kidnapped. There are shifters being murdered and Abe becomes savage when he learns his Shauna has been kidnapped. The race is on, woe to the whoever is responsible.
There's action, twists and turns, murder, humor and sexy romance. Loved it and highly recommend and this series just keeps getting better and better.

I love all of Julia´s books, but the books she creates for Milly´s words are awesome... It is great because not only I see old friends from her books but also friends from other writers I happen to love. This romance between a dragon king and his sassy honey badger is a great read, Shauna is strong and fierce!! and Abe is sexi and strong... now, to keep looking for books with the the stupid tweedles, lol

good action but...
I liked the action and the bad guy was super creepy but....when the main female character runs away when she meets her mate for the first time, then complains when he follows her, then a minute later is all over him for no apparent reason....No. Yes I know its fiction but come on. Cant it be just a bit more believable than that? It would have gotten a much better rating if not for that and a bit of silly weird dialog between the two.

It takes all her honey badger strength and wits combined with his ancient dragon magic to make it out, with significant help from their friends.

Totally enjoyed this book
I really enjoyed this books it was differ from the earlier books but I liked the change and the interaction with the different shifters. The one thing I need answered or I missed it was why were they in need to make sure they had the honey badger? I liked the other people at the mating ceremony but missed having her family at the ceremony. All minor observations. An enjoyable read.

I will never get tired of saying what a great series this is. Abe and Shauna's story was amazing. So much going on from the very beginning. This book also had a lot of surprises. I also love when the King of the Big Cats makes an appearance. An old feud has brought forward new enemies. The stories that follow are going to rock. Thank you again Ms. Mills for a wonderful read.

What a story. It has humor, suspense, action, mystery, and some sexy love scenes. It draws you in and doesn’t let go until you find out what happens. The characters are stunningly developed. They have amazing chemistry together. This is one heck of a ride if a story. It is a must read and doesn’t disappoint.

Savage Protector
This author has a way with words that make her books so completely enjoyable to read. Her characters are always so full of personality and fun. Even in dangerous situations she always manages to keep it on the light side with snarky and sassy insults or comments. A honey badger and a dragon make for an interesting pair. Loved it!!

Badass Badger
Julia Mills' sassy humour and storytelling had me feeling sorry for the Tweedles!
Nice to have Dragonking Alarick make an appearance; makes me wonder if he only ever bonded with a human once.
Good to learn Shauna realized her wish to join the FPU; lordy she's tenacious and feisty!👌👍❤

No one rights dragon shifters like Julia Mills! Her additions to the FPU World is delightful. The descriptives form pictures in the reader's mind and her character development is top notch. It's always a pleasure when I read her work!
